Chapter Four- Prisoner
This mysterious man was holding me prisoner. Was he my savior or kidnapper? Why did he want this baby so badly? Why couldn't I find Shane? Shane could definitely protect me and Amy from this man. But I never got the chance to tell him that I was pregnant. Or even that I loved him. Thinking about Shane brought tears to my eyes.
When I look over, I see that the Governor is lying in bed with me. All he has on is a pair of blue boxers. He is basically naked in the bed with me. There might be something else he wants besides the baby.
"Morning Andrea. Did you sleep well?" He asked, wrapping his arms around me.
"Yes, thank you," I whispered.
I knew I had to try to play nice for Amy's sake. He had her somewhere and if I continue with my hateful behavior, he might never allow me to see my sister.
"I will make you a light breakfast and tonight we will have a nice dinner. You can take a warm bath after you eat," he says freely, moving his hands on my body.
"That is kind of you," I said, wanting to slap his hand.
"You know, I never found my wife sexier than when she was pregnant with our daughter. She was glowing and so are you, Andrea," he says as reaching into my panties placing his fingers inside of me. I find myself slowly moving away, causing him to be frustrated.
"I should take that bath," I said, feeling the wetness in between my legs.
"I am not a monster, Andrea. I'll give you a few days to get comfortable before we become intimate," he says, looking at me with those blue eyes of his.
He was slightly older than me. Maybe about thirty-two? Not bad looking with dark brown hair, pretty boy face. He definitely had movie star looks. Like an older version of Andrew Burnap, but something about him set me off. Like he was too nice. I'm already afraid of him.
"I don't know how you expect me to react to that. One moment I am in the woods, about to die in my sister's arms, then wake up in a stranger's apartment. Who has already told me they want to take my baby. Now you're also asking for a physical relationship. I don't know how you expect me to feel about this," I said, not falling for his charm.
"Some gratitude would be nice. Anyone else would have left you and your sister. I saved your life, your baby's life, and your sister. I really feel you owe me something for that," He says frustrated.
"Well, thank you for saving us. I do appreciate you," I said getting out of the bed.
"I know you will repay me when the time is right. Get dressed for breakfast and I will show you around Woodbury. Walking will be good for you and the baby. You're about to have the baby any day now," he said, standing and gently touching my belly.
"I would like to see my sister today," I pleaded with him.
"We will see, Andrea. But I promise you Amy is fine," he says, walking into the kitchen as I walk into the bathroom.
I wash my hair and body, then put on the new clothes provided. Despite being seven months pregnant, I haven't gained much weight due to our limited food—a few fish, some berries from the woods, and water. I'm grateful for the black yoga pants, which comfortably stretch over my stomach. Leaving the bathroom, I join the Governor for breakfast: toast, eggs, strawberries, and milk. As we look at each other, I feel his gaze on my body.
"You look beautiful, sweetheart," he told me as I finished my breakfast.
He offers me his hand and I take it. Together we leave the apartment and he shows me around his town. Somehow, I feel like I belong to him already. I am his prisoner, I thought to myself.
