Prompt: Amy volunteers in an animal shelter and gets talked into fostering a pet. All her friends come over to see the pet and play. Sonic thinks it's really awesome and kind of Amy to do this he stays longer than the others playing with the pet and helping Amy. At one point she says it's like they're a little family and Sonic realizes she's right and doesn't mind the idea of it being a future possibility.

Sonic Prompt: everyone is talking in a group chat and the topic drifts to what the game plan is for surviving a zombie apocalypse. At first it's serious but delvs into silliness with the plans, supplies, and requirements getting more wild. It ends when they try to decide who would be sacrificed first, who would do a mercy kill, and who everyone would agree to leave behind or betray everyone for something better with over dramatic acting to go with it.
Cutegirlmayra answered:
Prompts are on permanent shut down, sorry. ;'(
Prompt:
Amy had been having some hard times.
It wasn't enough to dive herself into her charity work, the penguins had their sweaters, and the island was small enough that the little town barely had any fundraisers.
So to completely distract herself from her emotions, she used one of Tails's top of the line communication devices, a satellite dish able to send a signal out far across the surface of the world.
Turns out someone did respond. A small agency that is trying to socialize specialized cyber-puppies to treat different ailing patients. The one they wanted to send her needed training on aircraft, which Tails would most certainly provided with enough big-hedgehog-eyes pleading for him to.
The puppy's time in the plane was perfect. Its little mechanized eye revealed that dog was born without one, and therefore, they take disabled dogs and cyber-them-up to help people with other disabilities, too. This dog had a small bonus, his cyber-half of his body could also sense emotional disturbances, and as he stuck his head out of the plane, he turned back to see Amy looking down and having stopped petting him.
His ear lifted up, and a small antenna came out of its eardrum, showing the dog was also born with one ear being deaf. It let out a highly untraceable set of wavelengths, tapping into Amy's chest to see her heart rate seemed to reveal her emotional distress.
Whatever she was going through, his one cyber-eye read out in small print–"Lon."
Lonely, Overstimulated, Neglected.
His antenna withdrew back in, as he tilted his head, as though trying to remember what his puppy-training had taught him to help a patient in this particular emotional need.
He curled his body to round and rub against her in cute circles around her lap, yipping sweetly to engage her back to her senses.
Amy rose her head, blinking a second as she was pulled out of her sorrowful thoughts about being alone with her emotions, since the 'group therapy' she did with her friends didn't really help anyone… It was more for herself, anyway… to feel useful, wanted, appreciated…
She petted his head, smiling, and not realizing he sensed anything like a disturbance in her body.
"It's alright, cutie." she giggled, "I can't believe they don't have a Puppy of you in my favorite game." She sighed, wishing it were real. "You're just gonna have to be my own little original piece!" She played with his cheeks, fluffy and soft, as he yipped again in joy at her mood improving.
It was what he was trained to sense and help correct in a patient's body, anyway; to encourage mood regulation.
He yawned at his hard work done and laid down on her lap, making her squeal at his cuteness, unaware of what a good boy he was.
She took pictures on her phone to the group chat. Surprisingly, Sticks and Sonic were the first to respond.
Stick: He's now my son.
Sonic: Aw, what a cool looking dog!
Amy smiled. It was nice to see Sonic looking at his phone again.
She quickly texted: He's being trained to use his cyber-soft-side to treat all sorts of different patients all over the world! He needed flight conditioning, so I begged Tails to let him take a ride with us! The agency said they'd allow me to foster him for a few days, wanna help 'socialize' him?
Shadow: Remove me from this chat.
Sticks: Aww, a government cyclops experiment gone horribly right! Who would have thought? At least I know my tax dollars are going into puppy-rehabilitation recovery efforts to help save humanity instead of the shadow-agents that try and- HEY! There's one that just leaked into the chat! Quick! Tails! Send me a link to his location and I'll clobber him!
Knuckles: I clo bb two!
Sonic: I think Knuckles is trying to type out that he wants to clobber him, too. Look out, 'Shadow Agent'!
Shadow: /Leave Chat.
Shadow: /Leave group Chat.
Shadow: /Leave Sonic Team group chat.
Shadow: /Leave Sonic Team chat.
Sonic: Have you tried googling it?
Amy laughed with a reluctant sigh. She had 'secretly' gotten Shadow's details, finding it surprising that he even carried a phone, but when having snagged it behind his back–being the real 'Shadow Agent' here…–she discovered he mostly held audio books and some songs on it. He held no contacts, mostly using it as a type of 'Ipad', it seemed.
Amy: Shadow, come to my hut, I'll help you off if you really want me to.
It was a lie. She just wanted him to have company in his lonely life…
She knew how that felt… but she couldn't understand the part where he willingly let himself be isolated…
She hated that feeling…
As her hand rested on the cyborg puppy, the synthetic hairs sticking out of his metal back plate send an electrical signal down to him.
He blinked his little eyes, his robotic one indicating an new emotional state–"TIR"
Tired, Irritable, Reflective.
He held up his head and look back to her, seeing her engage his gaze, he wagged his half-metal tail and stuck his slobbery tongue out, giving her an open smile.
Success! She cooed over him and gave him a big hug on her lap, "You're so precious!" She rubbed her head back and forth against his synthetic patch of fake, furry hair as the electrical currents read out–STB
Stable, Trusted, Balanced.
The patient's emotional health was increasing to normal levels again.
He happily took the praises with little pants, and licked the top of her forehead, where no quills would harm him.
After Tails landed, he wanted to obviously play with the puppy, trying to get him interested in a stick. "Go long, boy!" He lifted a foot up, trying to not wobble too much and blinked down an eye, sticking out his tongue, and went to throw the ball.
The cyborg-puppy's tail slowly ceased wagging as both him and Tails watched as the ball barely went anywhere… but sure held some air time on its long 'toss' skyward before dropping just a few steps in front of them.
Tails's tails drooped, "Ohhh…" When his ears twitched down, the cyborg-puppy's twitched up, the one mechanical ear's antenna coming out–EBA.
Encourage, Balance, Assist.
It was instructions this time.
Cyborg-puppy happily spun around, barking cheerily, and lifted himself onto two legs to get Tails's attention, trying to lick his nose.
"Ah-haha! Hey! Hehe, you don't mind my shortcomings, do you buddy? Do you? No, you don't~ You don't judge anything so long as it rubs your sparking belly? Do you, boy? Do youuuu~" instantly cheered up, Tails rubbed at his electrically static body, before the cyborg-puppy ran the short distance to retrieve the ball and carry it back to him.
He nudged with it in his mouth for Tails to try again.
"Aww, you still want to play with me? Haha! You're very kind, boy, thanks! I'll practice my underswing, then!" He looked at his tails, "Or better yet..!" He took the ball into the two-pinching tail tufts of one of his tails, spun his tails in a helicopter fashion, and the ball went flying off as though propelled by a whirling windmill..!
The good cyborg-pup yipped in glee and took off after it, as Tails put his hands to his hips, looking well pleased with his next try.
He nodded, "Hmm, I did it!"
The Cyborg-Puppy returned with his mechanically red eye reading–STB, once more, he was a good boy!
He yawned, after a few passes with Tails and rested on the couch, as Tails had to leave.
The next day, Amy fed him, reaching down to pat his head as he consumed tasty Mehburger-nibbles for Dogs before a gust of wind caught them both off guard.
The Cyborg-Pup blinked his eyes, wondering what that was, as it read–CEE.
Confident, Excitable, Energerized.
Ah, not a patient, then?
The cyborg-pup licked its chops, and went back to eating.
"Heya, Amy! You don't mind if I come early to the party, do you?" He had gotten her group text to Shadow, and apparently thought it was an invite.
"You're just here to annoy Shadow when he gets here, aren't you?" She raised an eyebrow, and he grinned.
"Hehe~ How'd you know?" He came to wiggle a finger against the top of the cyborg-pup's head. "And to say hello to this guy!"
"Are you gonna try and stop me from helping Shadow leave the chat?"
"Please, Amy. I knew if you wanted him out, you have admin privileges to have already kicked him by now."
Amy beamed. "Good! Cause I wasn't planning to actually get him to leave without mingling with us first!" She laughed, a wicked plan with hopefully positive results, she dreamed.
The cyborg-pup barked up to Amy, and she patted his head, "Want to hold him?"
"Oh? Can I? Sure!"
Sonic watched as Amy picked the little mechanized pooch up, and let Sonic hold him.
"Haha! Hey, that tickles!" Sonic laughed, as the Cyborg-Puppy licked his face, but then his eye read–STB.
He stopped licking, remembering Sonic didn't need any extra lovings, as Sonic rubbed his muzzle from the saliva.
"Good dog." He stated, patting and rubbing his head as he looked to Amy.
"Hmm? What's wrong, Ames?" He asked, but she seemed to be staring at the dog…
His antenna activated with a tilt of his head, his eye reading–"Lon" again.
What? But he had just cured her! This can't be right…
He looked up at Sonic, then Amy, withdrawing his antenna back into his metal eardrum again.
Was it this 'other fellow'? Was he the cause of her sudden mood change?
Trying to find a solution, the Cyborg-Puppy gently nudged Sonic's hand on his head, and tried to move it over as though suggesting Sonic should pet her head instead.
Not getting it, the two didn't have time to figure it out before more guests started showing up.
Sticks and Knuckles play wrestled cutely with the cyborg-puppy on the ground, as Sticks wanted to teach it how to speak all the government secrets out of it's little cute metal noggin, and Knuckles just wanted to show off how much he had improved his piano skills–only two notes down–as well as his weight training–lifting Amy's entire hut–but she told him to stop that.
Although neurotic, Sticks's bio to the cyborg-puppy just read anxiety, to which distracting her and letting her teach him odd picture things about 'shadow agents parachuting information into a large pentagon structure' was actually calming her down and helping her feel loved that he was paying attention.
For Knuckles, just having the little cyborg-puppy wag his tail and yip at his different odd actions made the big red man happy, so he was happy doing his duties.
Then… the other hedgehog walked in.
His head twitched as his eye kept reading different statuses, and it made him whimper and lean that eye down, scratching at it.
Amy picked up the cyborg-puppy, "Shadow, I'm glad you came!" She looked a little worried, but tried to have her voice come off pleasant enough, wanting him to feel included.
The cyborg-puppy's antenna came out, lifting his ear to turn it to Amy, it read out clearly–VPI
Vicariously, Projecting, Ideals.
Amy was reflecting her own desires for herself onto Shadow, mirroring her wishes that others would do for her onto him.
Hmm, not a very healthy way to go about things. It would be better if she explained what she was feeling to the other fun patients and non-patients. If she did, she wouldn't have to unhealthily cope by over-exerting herself for others, only causing further burnout onto herself.
He yipped, but all ignored him.
Shadow twitched an eye, holding out his phone, "Take me off." He asked, a bit sternly. "Teams are not really my thing…" He pulled back when the cyborg-puppy wiggled out of Amy's grasp, running up to wag his tail and yip for Shadow to hold him, instead.
"... Nor am I one give in to the demands of… other lifeforms." He turned his head away, but his eyes remained on the innocent cuties gestures, as he spun a few times to show he wasn't backing down from wanting to be given attention from Shadow.
Amy giggled, "Aww, he likes you!"
"Impossible." Shadow stated, but the Cyborg-Puppy put a heart in his mechanical red eye, and Shadow was forced to twitch.
"Eugh… Fine, I concede. But on my own terms." He seemed to relax around the cyborg-puppy now, glaring down at him but having a hand on his hip, showing he was paying attention to its attention-seeking behaviors now. "Why does the frankenstein mutt want my approval so much?"
"He's not a mutt!" Taking offense to that, Sticks jumped forward on all fours, hopping over the cyborg-puppy as though protectively defending him against such words.
"I would give my life for this zombified government experiment!" She bit the air towards Shadow.
"Zombified? So it's not alive?" He moved an arm up over himself, as though ready to 'swat' her back if needs be. "How is that possible? Is he an alien experiment? Like I was…" Turning a bit theatrical and angsty, he held out a crumbled hand, as though tensing it into a fist but not fully forming into one just yet.
"Not so dramatically." Sonic intervened, seeing Shadow was distracted from exiting the group chat–which amused Sonic greatly–to then gesturing everyone to sit and lay about as he played with the mechanical pooch after pulling it from Stick's protective underbelly.
"But that's a fun topic! In the case of a zombie apocalypse, who would survive? What would you do?" He put the dog up on his fists, as though a training weight, but Amy quickly scooped him off.
"That's easy!" She petted him, moving her body to and fro in a girlie sense of daydreaming, "I'd build a bunker all with armed, adorable little flickies and creatures! Our good boy would be there, obviously, and I'd have a living room for all of you to continue to enjoy our raided food supplies we'd totally steal from Eggman. Cause he doesn't need to eat much."
"He could afford the raid." Tails snickered, "But if Sonic became a Zombie, we'd all be bitten and become part of his undead army instantly!"
"Not necessarily." Shadow suddenly interjected, as the cyborg-puppy noted that everyone was actually turning more stable besides Sonic… who was slowly having his statuses change…
"I'm immune to all known bacteria and diseases." He began, as Knuckles whispered over to Sticks.
"That means he's afraid of germs." He teased.
"Germs are afraid of me." Shadow raised his head up, narrowing his eyes to Knuckles intimidatingly. "As I was saying, I'd-"
"I would defend and provide all the supplies for Tails's weaponry by utilizing my carefully honed scavenger skills!" She hopped left and right in front of Shadow, cutting him off.
"W-What? Ugh. As I was saying…" Shadow was about to disregard her, double-taking a moment before having Knuckles enter the screen.
"Yeah! And then I'd play the ukulele! Cause you know, Pianos wouldn't be able to run fast enough, when worse comes to worser, they'd be the first to go out with a zombie-bang." He shrugged, as though that made sense.
"What I'm saying is-!" Shadow tried to shove Sticks's and Knuckles's heads out of the way but Tails then flew up to completely cover him from sight of Sonic and Amy, as the Cyborg-Puppy realized Amy was also having her emotions affected for some reason.
"Who says I'd be making weapons! I'd make the cure!" He cheered.
"ENOUGH! LET HIM SPEAK!"
Everyone suddenly got spooked back a bit, Amy's outburst came out so personal… as though people covering up Shadow affected her too greatly.
She was huffing and heaving… and that's when Cyborg-Puppy noticed Sonic's emotional state had picked up on Amy far before his mechanical instincts did…
Was he just like him?
He sniffed, where was his mechanics? Were they hidden somewhere? How did he pick up on it, and why did his state change with hers? Were they synced up like his devices were to his mainframe and brain?
Sonic immediately took Amy's shoulder, pulling her slightly towards him, "Ah-haha, okay, so!" He gestured to Shadow, "You were saying?"
"Ehem, yes. I was." Shadow cleared his throat and stepped forward, "I was going to say I'd merciless take out each and everyone of you… without hesitating. I'd be the last to survive on this island."
Everyone went quiet… but Amy groaned and put Cyborg Puppy down, stomping away.
Sonic's ears fell and he went off after her as the rest argued how'd they survive a Shadow-Apocalypse as fugitive Zombies.
"Amy…" Sonic's voice carried a much gentler, kinder tone as he reached out for her in the kitchen area, but she leaned over a counter and seemed disturbed…
Twitching his head again, whimpering, the cyborg-puppy came with them—UCI.
Underqualified, concerned, Inept.
Ah, the blue man didn't know how to comfort the pink girl, that's where he came in!
The cyborg-puppy tried to get a read on Amy… but so many letters in the alphabet suddenly scrolled across his eye that it was even more than the black and red man!
He rubbed his paw against his eye, snorting out his irritability.
That's it! He was fed up trying to solve every patient's problems!
That is… until Sonic picked him up… did he sense… the Cyborg-Puppy's fear at failing his objectives?
"What's wrong?" He continued his question to Amy, "You're not yourself, lately… Something I can do?"
"... I want Shadow to like us…" She shook her head, and Cyborg-Puppy did as well, knowing that wasn't true.
She was shoving all her needs onto a foreign entity, everything she would say would be a reflection of how she wanted others to treat her. She wanted Shadow to belong… because she wanted to feel she belonged, too.
"I want him to be heard, to be listened to… I want him to feel loved." She looked to Sonic with tears in her eyes. "It's how I want us all to be… one big… happy-…" She started to cry and covered her face, not finishing her thought, but it was clearly the resounding feeling she felt she was forever barred from.
Sonic smiled, and the Cyborg-Puppy's eye stabilized to show him that Sonic understood Amy's feelings.
But how? Without technology, how could these creatures help themselves?
Wasn't… he needed?
Cyborg-Puppy watched and took note of how Sonic pulled Amy's arm to him, and with him in the middle, he embraced her.
He yipped in surprise, without pulling out his antenna, he could hear Sonic's heartbeat… On the other side of his deaf ear, he could feel Amy's heartbeat…
They were… syncing up… without scratchy metal gear… without precise and calibrated communicators…
The pretty pink Patient hadn't fully, clearly, stated what she was feeling… And yet, the seemingly confident, though actually worried about his own capabilities, blue New Patient had started to cure each other… They were good people.
Yawning out his stress and shaking it away, the two naturally broke their hug, as the Cyborg-Puppy realized that not everyone needed him. Sometimes… They needed each other.
To understand more than just be conditioned to a biplane, the little Cyborg-Puppy finished his training, as the 'Family' of strange creatures he had loved and been with seemed to do just fine without him.
He had faith… that even when he left, they would be well-taken care of… by each other.
