"Wow, the new office is looking good." Abby said as she entered Laurel's new law office, Lance and Gamble, Attorneys at Law.
"Thanks. We even have a secret elevator that leads to the tunnels that head to the Barracks." Laurel said.
"Nice, but I'm guessing you didn't call me here to show me your new office." Abby said.
"You're right, we didn't. We're here because Doctor Blossom made his last mistake when he approached and threatened you, since Officer Ramirez has come forward willing to testify against him, including showing footage from his car's dash cam." Laurel said.
"So?" Abby asked, since she was a doctor, not a lawyer.
"So, now we can start to make progress on your suit against him, since before, the only thing we had grounds to get him on was wrongful termination." Laurel said.
"What, but he sexually assaulted me." Abby said angrily.
"I know, but right now, all we have is your word on that, since Blossom was very thorough in covering his tracks. We checked security camera footage all around the area you told us about, but there's no record of him being anywhere near you, which means he likely bribed the owners to erase the footage." Laurel said.
"Can't you make those people testify?" Abby asked.
"To what? There's a good chance none of them know what they erased. Sorry." Laurel said as Sam entered, holding up a bunch of folders.
"Except it's not just one claim against Blossom anymore." Sam said.
"What do you mean?" Laurel asked.
"I got to thinking, a man like Thomas Blossom only knows to cover his tracks like this if this isn't the first time he's done it, so I reached out to some of my husband's contacts." Sam said.
"You mean you used Argus as PI service? Not judging you, if anything, I'm wondering why I didn't think of that myself, since my sister is married to the Argus director here in Star City." Laurel said.
"Yeah, anyways, they helped me track down numerous women that Thomas has sexually assaulted over the years. All of them in cases like this, but he either paid them off with an NDA or threatened to do to their careers what he did to yours. But he didn't count on attacking someone with access to Argus." Sam said.
"Or the wealth of the Queen Family, since we have the resources to establish a class action suit against him and class action lawsuits don't go away. Especially when we can tack on attempted assault and wrongful termination." Laurel said.
"So we do have a case against Thomas?" Abby asked.
"And not just him, but also the Star City medical board for wrongfully revoking your license, the hospital for firing you, there is a good chance that by the time we're done, you'll have gotten enough settlements to never have to work again." Laurel said.
"Seriously?" Abby asked.
"Oh yeah. We're taking Blossom for everything he has. Though that settlement will need to be split between the other 10 plaintiffs." Sam said.
"That's fine. And I don't mind working, but it would be nice if I can get a promotion out of this." Abby said.
"We'll see what we can do. But we can't file suit against the hospital or medical board until we've gotten the guilty verdict on the Blossom case, since once we get that, we have proof that they had no right to treat you like that." Laurel said, right as the office door opened and the bastard walked in himself with his lawyer.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Abby asked.
"Please keep your client from addressing mine." Blossom's lawyer, Trip Lewis, said.
"Her question stands." Laurel said, since now she and Sam were officially acting in the capacity of Abby's lawyers.
"We're to find out what it will take to get you to drop this frivolous suit that I can into a defamation suit." Trip said.
"Nice try. We're not taking bribes and we have video footage of you coming in here to attempt to bribe us, which we will be turning over to the court." Laurel said.
"You ruined my life. Took my career, my reputation, everything. Now I'm taking it back and making sure that it costs you everything. I'm not settling." Abby said.
"Do you really think that you can beat me?" Blossom asked.
"I think that our firm might be small, but my fiance's bank account is larger than yours could ever dream to be, so there's no you're nothing compared to that." Laurel reminded him.
"You women really think that you can get the better of me?" Thomas asked as his calm mask of a man who was a respected member of society threatened to crack and reveal the real man beneath it. The misogynistic monster who cared about no one but himself.
"Get your client the hell out of my office before I have the cops drag him out in handcuffs and I'll see both of you in court." Laurel said as Sam reached for her gun.
"Let's go." Trip said as he pushed Thomas out.
"I'll get all of you. Mark my words." Thomas shouted as he was forced out.
"So, he just made this even easier right?" Abby asked once he was gone.
"Oh yeah. This case is pretty much locked up now." Sam said and Laurel nodded her head in agreement.
