Chapter 3: Shadows Over Peace
[UFN POV]
Location: United Federation of Nations Council Chamber, Ashford Island – 3 Days After the Broadcast
The council room buzzed with nervous energy. Delegates from dozens of nations sat behind long, lacquered tables—hands folded, brows furrowed, eyes glued to the hovering holo-screen above.
The recording was already infamous.
Lelouch vi Britannia, now wearing the full regalia of a reinstated Crown Prince, stood beside Emperor Charles—both addressing the world from Pendragon.
"From this day forward, the Britannian Empire no longer stands apart. It will be reformed from within. Together, my father and I will eliminate the lies that have governed this world. We will bring unity—not through conquest, but through revelation."
"To the UFN," Charles added, his voice sharp, "we offer not threats, but an invitation. Join us in reshaping the world. The Thought Elevators are awakening. To ignore them is to be left behind."
The feed ended. The room descended into chaos.
"This is a trick!" cried the Chinese Federation's ambassador.
"A peace offering—or a trap," murmured the Indian delegate.
Tianzi sat quietly, eyes distant.
Li Xingke crossed his arms. "If it's truly Lelouch, then he's changed. But is it for the better? Or has he simply become the next mask of tyranny?"
President Guifei leaned forward. "If Britannia speaks of the Thought Elevators, then they know something we don't. We need information. Before we make any move."
[Black Knights POV]
Location: Ikaruga – Black Knights Command Deck
Kallen stood motionless, hands clenched around the railing as she stared at the paused image on screen. Lelouch. Beside the Emperor. Wearing the crest of Britannia.
"He... he looks different," Ohgi murmured. "Not just the uniform. It's his eyes."
"They're clearer," said Rakshata, adjusting her glasses. "And colder."
Tamaki slammed a fist on the console. "It's a damn betrayal! He faked his death, made us look like fools, and now he's the Emperor's puppet!"
"He's no puppet," Kallen said quietly.
All eyes turned to her.
"Zero never was a puppet. And if that really is Lelouch... then we're in deeper trouble than we thought."
Diethard, ever the opportunist, smiled faintly. "But perhaps this is a new beginning. Britannia, reshaped from within? Think of the narrative potential."
Ohgi shook his head. "We need answers. Before anyone draws weapons."
Kallen exhaled slowly. Her heart ached with memories of their last conversation—of betrayal, of tears, of fire.
She whispered, "Lelouch… what game are you playing now?"
[Ashford Academy POV]
Location: Ashford Academy – Student Council Room
The student council room, once filled with laughter and harmless chaos, now felt like a museum—quiet, still, heavy with the weight of what had been.
Rivalz stared at the paused broadcast on Milly's tablet, mouth slightly open. "I still can't believe it... He's really back. Lelouch. As a prince."
Milly sat cross-legged on the couch, arms crossed. "Of course he is. It's Lelouch. He always had a secret or three."
Nina trembled slightly, hugging her knees. "If he's allied with the Emperor… what does that mean for the rest of us? For the school?"
Sayoko, standing silently by the window, finally spoke. "If Lelouch is doing this, then it must be part of a larger plan. He would not act without reason."
Milly smirked faintly. "Still playing chess, even when the board's caught fire."
The wind outside rustled the curtains. In the silence, one thought echoed in everyone's minds:
What comes next?
[EU POV]
Location: Europia United – Strategic Command HQ, Warsaw
Field Marshal Adelheid folded her arms as the final image of the Pendragon broadcast faded from the war room screen.
"So, the prince returns—and not as Zero. But as a prince beside his father," she muttered.
An aide approached. "Should we interpret this as a threat to EU sovereignty?"
Adelheid shook her head. "No. Not yet. But we move to yellow alert. If Britannia is talking about these... 'Thought Elevators', then we're facing a new form of warfare."
General Kruger frowned. "You think it's real?"
"Lelouch vi Britannia rarely bluffs," she replied. "And Charles... never." She stared at the flickering screen. "Get me everything we have on C.C., Geass, and this World of C. We may be behind the game, but we can still play."
