"Incredible. So, this is the next level?" Vomi whispered as I watched her eyes scan my form and I had to admit that I felt just as surprised as she did when I clenched my fists.
Unlike the regular Super Saiyan that had only amped my emotions from a 2 to a 5 or 6, this one amped it all the way up to ten as I could feel my irritation at the air around me growing before I forced it back with a deep breath.
"It is not." Master Pybara spoke up, drawing everyone's attention as Trunks frowned.
"It isn't? To me, he looks very different compared to his usual Super Saiyan transformation."
"Only you would know, Gohan. Do you feel any different?" He asked me in turn and I raised an eyebrow at that before closing my eyes and reaching for my energy.
"Now that you mentioned it and that the energy rush has worn off…there's only a slight increase in my power to be honest."
"Precisely. Because you have used and trained with the Super Saiyan transformation for the past thirteen years, you have achieved a mastery over it that not even your father has. However, in doing so, you have also made it that any other transformation doesn't give you a significant boost compared to the first transformation."
"So, what you're saying is that Gohan has maxed out the level of his Super Saiyan skill and the others are still at level 1?" Erasa asked and I blinked at the usage of gaming terms while Master Pybara just looked slightly confused.
"If you are asking if he needs to master his other forms to gain any boost, then yes, he does."
"Ooh~ I see."
"Hmm, the transformation does feel a lot different compared to the original transformation."
"That may be because where the first transformation was dependant on anguish and rage, this one appears to require even more on top of amplifying those emotions intently. Therefore, you may need to first learn some control over it once again before you can learn on how to master it."
"I see. And how will I do that?" I asked and the alien simply chuckled as he floated upwards and gestured for us to follow.
"At our destination and one of the most important places where we train."
"…What am I looking at here?" I asked as I looked at the tall rock formation in front of me, the others looking just as surprised and confused at I was as we watched the sharp tips of each tall rock stretching up high into the sky.
"This is our meditation ground and the first point of your training. Here, you will be doing constant meditation to not only gain better control over one's ki but also over one's emotions."
"So, just basic meditation?" Videl asked with a frown and Pybara chuckled as he shook his head.
"If it was only just that, many would have mastered it. No, you are to also condense and suppress your ki, stretch out your ki sensing to detect other ki signatures over long distances and finally disperse and recollect control over the ki that you dispersed."
"Essentially, containment, sensing and control. Those are the three steps we must focus on while training?" I asked as I was still in the Super Saiyan 2 transformation, having decided to stay in it to see if I can't try training it the same way that I did with Super Saiyan.
"Precisely, except you are going to be training on Image Training at the same time."
"And who should I imagine fighting?"
"Your Oozaru side." He answered and I blinked at that while the others just looked confused.
"So, he must envision himself facing off against the animalistic side of his psyche?…How do you even do that?" Vomi asked me and I shrugged with a matching confused look that she had before looking at Pybara as he chuckled.
"Do not worry. That is what I will be here for. Now, all of you float upwards and start meditating."
"And how are we supposed to sit on it without any support?" Erasa asked and Pybara responded by floating upwards, a smirk of anticipation growing on my face as I watched the Yardratian balancing himself on one of the rock formations with a single toe.
"Like this. Now, get up here and let us begin with your training, shall we?"
With how much we have done Image Training over the course of our trip to Yardrat from Namek, it barely took me a split second before I found myself standing in the familiar starry void of my mindscape with Pybara right besides me.
However, I could not help but notice the slight changes that had been made such as the misty clouds covering the ground, the numerous mountains found here and there and the shimmering moon hanging above us in the void.
"Listen, Gohan. What I am about to do is pull out your Oozaru aspect and give it form. When this happens, I will be locked out of your mind and it will be your job to win. If you lose, you will be knocked unconscious by myself before you can transform and yes, I do have my methods on doing so. You are also able to fight as you would in your physical form so good luck."
'So, I'm on my own? Well, isn't that fun?' I thought with a sigh as I reached for my ear before remembering that the Power Pole was not in my ear, deciding to simply raise my right hand before creating a staff out of ki.
It was a lot lighter than the Power Pole, but as I swung it, I simply smiled at how at ease I felt with having it in my hands before looking up as soft footsteps echoed in the air.
With a grunt, I slammed the ki staff onto the ground to disperse the clouds for a brief moment just as the figure became visible and I rose an eyebrow as it held my gaze while flexing its ki to disperse the clouds around it for a brief moment.
The signature fur of Super Saiyan 4 covered his entire body apart from hands, feet, and face as his tail swayed behind him, a vibrant yellow aura covering his body as a pair of golden eyes stared at me with a stoic gaze.
'Kind of looks like Wukong without his staff.' I thought with a smirk as I slowly spun my ki staff and lowered myself into a slight crouch, watching as he did the same before the clouds around us were erased when we lunged at each other.
Swinging the ki staff forward right as he swung at me, our blows clashed and shattered the nearby mountain, both of us straining our bodies as we tried to push the other back.
Unlike him though, I had more than one method of attack and smirked as I dismissed my ki staff while slipping around his punch, a jab to his chin knocking him back before I landed a hook to his right side.
Slipping back and around, I dodged the spin kick aimed at my head while delivering my own to his back, ki coursing through my body as I leapt off of my supporting leg with a spin when he shot a ki blast at it.
Bringing my leg around, I smashed an overhead kick into the top of his head and buried him skull first into the ground, delivering another stomp to shatter the ground below him.
However, I wheezed as a painful force slammed into my chest from out of nowhere and sent me flying away from him, quickly flipping around only to frown as I saw his tail swinging rapidly while he dug himself out of the ground.
With a howl, ki gathered at his hands before he charged at me on all fours and I quickly jumped over him right as he kept on charging past me and through a mountain.
It didn't take him long before he stopped and blasted back at me, but this time I was prepared as I shattered the ground while lunging at him, diving under his grab and tackling him around his midsection.
The clouds dispersed for kilometers as I pushed him further and further away, grunting with each hammer fist he smashed into my back before growling as I lifted up while gripping his arms.
With a roar, I pushed up and off of him with a grunt before stomping both feet onto his skull, quickly jumping forward and away from him as he ragdolled across the ground before I grabbed his legs and slammed him back first into the cloudy ground with a growl.
A devastating shockwave rippled out that dispersed the clouds and showed the rocky destroyed ground below us before they reappeared once more, but I smirked as I stood on the rasping monkey's chest with a staff in hand.
As I threw it at his head, I sighed as he was quick to reach up and catch it, a determined look in his eyes now having replaced the stoic gaze he had before my eyes widened as he opened his mouth and let out an ear-shattering shriek.
The force of it was enough to knock me back and disorient me, but I flipped around and landed with a slight stumle as I looked up, watching as the beast was bathed in a golden light while he glared at me with a growl.
The next moment, I created a ki staff right as he did the same and raised mine to block his downwards strike, feeling my feet sink into the ground as he pushed down with a growl.
Quickly letting go of one side and parrying his blow to the side, I kicked the free side of the staff and let it spin, letting it smack the back of his head as I leapt past him with a spin before catching the other end of the staff and raising it high.
With a roar, I swung it down and expanded it to the size of a bus the moment of impact, watching as the ground cracked while frowning as he had done the same with his staff.
Feeling him push me away with a grunt, I flipped over before rushing in as he twirled his staff around his body and we clashed with another deafening boom.
Our moves were mirrored and in-sync as we rapidly attacked the other, my body doing its best to surpass its own movements while I tried my best to learn and surpass my own mind.
'Go beyond! Do not let your mind dictate your body!' I pushed aside a stab and swung my staff upwards, expanding it right as he moved his head back before the staff shot out and connected with his lower jaw.
'Do not let your body suppress your mind!' Following up with my strike, I threw the staff at him while rushing in afterwards, taking a deep breath as I watched him dodge the staff before making it explode as it passed him.
He looked surprised and disgruntled as the explosion blasted him forward and right into another devastating staff slam to the skull that sent him rolling head over heels across the landscape.
'Push beyond your limits for they are weakness and weakness is an insult to your hard work!' Gathering ki in my hands as I threw the staff at him, I cupped them at my side while taking a deep breath as I watched the monkey slap the staff to the side.
"Ka…Me…" I began and was not surprised to see him dismiss his staff to do the same thing, the area around us being bathed in white and blue as we glared at each other.
"Ha…Me…" He spoke for the first time since the battle started, his voice sounding gravelly and rough as I smirked and charged up to the maximum I could withdraw from my Super Saiyan form.
"HA!" With synchronised shouts, the void cried as two colossal energy blasts clashed with a devastating boom, cracking the ground below us and making it tremble as I felt the weight of his attack trying to push back mine.
Gritting my teeth as I fuelled more energy into my blast, I cursed as I didn't feel it gaining any distance before my eyes widened as I remembered Pybara's words.
'You are to condense your ki…' Taking a deep breath, I steadied myself before grunting as I began to compress my ki to its most powerful, feeling his attack slowly pushing forward as I pulled a hand away.
'Disperse it…' The moment I let ki flow from my free hand, I stifled my pained growls as I felt the muscles in my other arm spasming, the force of his attack growing powerful with every second as I watched it draw closer.
'And finally…regain control over the dispersed ki…and attack!' With a roar, I grabbed control of my ki before slamming my free palm into my Kamehameha-Wavewith a powerful burst of ki.
To my shock and awe, the sparking aura of Super Saiyan 2 enveloped my form and I felt the immediate boost no matter how slight as his blast was instantly being pushed back, the beast looking surprised as I slowly walked towards him with one hand raised.
Despite the fact that I could see his body slowly being disintegrated, the monkey looked pleased as it closed his eyes and embraced the energy blast, to which I could only feel respect as I erased it before slowly pulling the ki back into my body.
"Hah…hah…holy shit…That was…awesome…" I gasped out with a smile as I fell backwards, the pain from that last attack still rippling through my body as I may have overdone it before I blinked as I found myself back in the real world.
"And he's back. How was your journey?" Pybara asked as he floated in front of me with his arms behind his back and I went to speak before my eyes widened as I felt all sensation being lost from my body.
However, a sense of weightlessness took over my body and I simply hung there in the air as Pybara lifted me up and slowly floated me back to the ground.
"You've been up there for three days so it's to be expected that your body would be weak." He said and my eyes widened at his words as I took a deep breath and felt the dryness in my throat.
"Felt…like three…minutes…" I rasped out and he nodded with a smile as he began flying back to the city, my body helplessly flying after him as I looked up at the ceiling.
"It sometimes does feel like that. One may feel as if you've only been thinking for a few seconds only to find out that you've actually been in thought for the past ten minutes. If I may ask, though, how was the training itself?"
"Good." I answered in response as I dispersed ki around me with a simple flex before pulling it back into my body, unable to look away from Pybara as he had a pleased smile on his face and nodded.
"Well done. You have completed the first step to the first part of your training. However, it is now time to rest." He spoke with a smile and I simply closed my eyes while taking a deep breath, not having to wait long as I felt the embrace of sleep slowly pulling me into slumber.
A/N: And a quick chapter to showcase how Gohan's training is going.
As you guys can see, it's going to be a bit of a struggle for the King of Earth as he has not even started with the training that he's doing so.
Basically, I'm going with the theme of him learning how to defeat and tame his Oozaru side so that he can use the Wrathful State that Super's Broly used on top of his usual SSJ transformations.
Also, since I've decided on the villain for this arc, that will be shown next chapter when they reveal themselves so stay tuned~!
