Alex stumbled out of bed and into the bathroom. "I'm sorry, Rachel!" He cried looking toward the sink.
"Revenge!" Alex looked into the mirror. Half of his face was grayish green, his eye pushed into his orb leaving a hollow void, devoid of light and warmth. His lip was pale and black leaving an unquenchable maw filled with rows of yellowed crooked teeth.
"Revenge!" His voice echoed with Wendigos. Turning his head, he looked at his bag. Placing it on the bed he carefully grabbed the teddy bear pendant and held it in his hands, breathing in shakily he slid it around his neck. Grabbing his laptop, he placed it on the desk and turned it on.
"Is everything ready?" An email popped up on his screen.
"Almost..." He typed. "I moved to a different location."
"Close by?"
"Yes."
Another email popped up with the address and the name of an underground for mutants." Shadow Haven." he told himself. "I went there with Dylan and the group."
"You really hate me, don't you?" He wrote back.
"What! What made you think that? :)"
Alex huffed in amusement as he leaned back into his chair. "Almost there." He mumbled. Grabbing his hoodie, he snuck out of the tower.
The rocks from the asphalt bounced from music as he got closer to an abandoned parking garage. Graffiti lit up along the entrance and lights flashed the street, walking toward the entrance he heard a group of men laughing. Going to investigate he found a group of men surrounding a 5'5 black-haired girl. One of the men grabbed her arm causing her to slap him. "Don't touch me!"
He growled as he rubbed his cheek, glaring he backhanded her, knocking her to the ground.
"Hey! You might not want to do that." Alex walked toward them.
The group looked at Alex and started laughing. "What are you going to do about it?!" One of them said.
"It's one of you against five of us!"
Alex picked up a broken beer bottle and disappeared. "That should scare you!" He whispered behind him before stabbing him in the side of the neck multiple times. disappearing again he reappeared in front of another and slit his throat.
One of the last three threw a punch but stumbled forward and fell down.
A gurgled groan and wince echoed behind him before two bodies collapsed on the ground. Turning around he found Alex holding the bloodied bottle as it dripped on the floor. Stumbling up he tried to run but fell on the ground screaming in pain.
Turning him over Alex looked down at him. "I have a family!" He cried.
"So does she." He pointed toward the girl.
"Please!" He begged.
Alex huffed in amusement and held out the bottle.
The girl looked at Alex and then at the guy before grabbing the bottle. "Bad luck to mess with the mutants." She chuckled.
The guy screamed as her face grew distorted while her mouth became wider, and her teeth became that of jagged edges.
Alex walked away as a blood-curdling scream echoed through the area.
"Always protecting people." A familiar voice scoffed. "Pathetic!"
Alex looked up to find the familiar blue-headed boy standing beside a broken-down car.
"Dylan!" He growled.
"Isn't that…" He smiled pointing at the pendant. "What was her name?"
"Choose your next words wisely!"
"Oh… are you going to cry?"
Alex clinched his hands into fists, lunging forward he threw an attack.
"Too slow, I'm afraid…" Dylan yawned behind him. "That seems like a common theme for you. "Your mom, Rachel." He counted with his fingers. "Who's next? Alexis, is it?"
"Do not antagonize him, Dylan!" A man spoke through his earpiece.
"It's all fun and games!" He chuckled.
Alex disappeared and rammed into him, knocking him to the ground. Seething with anger snow started falling. "You can never shut up!" He growled as he grabbed him by the collar.
"Well…" He chuckled. "It's my best quality." He grinned.
Alex growled and dropped him. "Not quite!" He kicked Dylan, sending him flying backwards. Chasing him, he punched him in the face as he landed, sending him farther away.
Wood chips and dirt exploded in the air as Dylan landed in a playground, standing up he wheezed as he held his ribs. "I need backup." He spoke, reaching for his earpiece it was missing. Looking around he frantically tried to find it.
"Looking for this!" A lingering voice spoke. Turning around, he stumbled back and crawled out of the crater as half of Alex's face was Wendigo's.
"You've taken everything from me!" He walked closer as Dylan crawled back. "Stay away from me!" He cried.
"We're just getting started!" A small pop came from the earpiece as he crushed it. Dylan stumbled up and ran off.
Running beside him, he smacked him to the ground.
Stumbling back up he ran, Dylan screamed out in tears as his hair turned bright blue before shooting forward in a burst of speed. He looked behind him to find Alex falling behind. "Thank you." He chuckled.
"Miss me!" Alex appeared in front of him.
Dylan screamed and swerved out of the way, losing control he slammed into a tree. "I always knew you were the weak one out of the group, to be honest... so did everybody else. They just made you the leader out of pity!" Alex kicked him in the ribs as he tried to stand up.
"You're nothing..." He kneeled on top of him and punched him in the face. "You're weak..." He spoke through punches. "Pathetic... worthless... Rebecca wishes you were never born!" Alex laughed as he got off him causing Dylan to run off.
Black clouds covered the sky, wind roared to life blizzarding the falling snow as multiple funnels descended from the sky.
Logan was smoking a cigar with his arm around Storm who was sleeping on his side with her head on his chest when she jolted up. "Alex..." She stared at Logan who was staring at the window, turning to face it, she found ice crawling up the window.
"Get to the safe room!" Storm instructed the students as they quickly made their way out of their rooms.
"Is this another drill Mrs. Storm?" A child asked.
"Yes it is, sweetheart."
"Colossus…" Logan was interrupted as the fierce winds broke the door open as Dylan slid across the floor and slammed into the back wall of the foyer. The children's screams flooded the area as Storm desperately tried to calm them down.
"Dylan!" Echoed through the darkness, lightning lit up the sky revealing several tornadoes surrounding the mansion, and the silhouette of someone walking in the middle.
Dylan stumbled up and ran for the stairs but slid and fell on the ground when Alex appeared in front of him. "I'm not finished with you!" He grabbed him by the neck and shoved his thumb in his eye causing a blood curdling scream to fill the room, throwing him on the ground. Dylan's eye thrashed around his face as it strung out of its socket.
"You will never hurt anyone again!"
"I'm sorry!" He sobbed on his knees. "Please!" He screamed holding his hands together. "Forgive me!" He bowed his head toward the ground.
"Forgiveness is nowhere to be found." He clutched his hair and raised his head to face him.
"Wh... No!" He shrieked as Alex ripped the skin off his face. Dylan's body went limp and fell to the floor, his breathing labored as blood started to pool around him.
Alex's body changed back to normal as he looked at the body. The storm quieted down like nothing was even there.
A small gasp caused him to look toward the stairs. Smiling he walked up the stairs and stopped in front of Storm before hugging her. "Mom." He mumbled.
She chuckled and rubbed his back. "I've missed you."
He felt something touch his leg and looked down to find the nine-year-old staring at him. "You saved us again."
Alex chuckled and bent down. He opened his mouth to speak when he turned his head and disappeared.
"Natasha!" He slid to a stop at a broken into Avengers tower. "Alexis, Natasha!" He called out. "Max!"
A slight groan came from the top of the stairs, running up he found Pepper sitting against the wall with her leg bent.
"What happened?" he asked kneeling next to her.
"Ah!" She groaned in pain as she tried moving. "A man came in and took Natasha, Alexis…" She winced in pain. "Steve, and Barton."
"Who was it?"
"I don't know, a large man with some sort of unbreakable skin."
He felt someone's hand on his shoulder causing him to jolt upwards. "Who are you? Answer me!"
"I'm Dr. Morbius, a friend of Max and Alexis."
"Why should I trust you?"
"Alexis does."
He glared at Morbius. "You're running out of time." Morbius knelt beside Pepper.
"Get out of here!" She screamed in pain as Morbius checked her leg, clutching onto Morbius' shoulder.
He growled before running out of the tower. Sniffing the air, he caught the stench of dirty clothes and sweat socks. "There you are?" Shaking his head he sped through the city following the trail. He soon found himself at an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Manhattan.
Hopping the fence, two searchlights on watch towers turned on causing him to hide in a dark alley. "I need to get those lights out before I can do anything. "He thought to himself.
Turning around he was punched in the face. The man punched at Alex again, dodging the attack he slammed his head into a brick wall, knocking him down. He stomped on his neck multiple times, killing him.
He turned around and found another guard pointing his gun at him. He disappeared when the guard reached for his radio. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." He said behind him before snapping his neck.
Natasha groaned as she slowly gained consciousness.
Rebecca, who was wearing a short Mrs. Claus dress, red elf shoes with bells at the tips, and a Santa hat entered the area while humming jingle bells and stopped at a crate labeled "Christmas decorations."
The crate creaked as she opened it, bending down she grabbed out Christmas hats.
Smiling, she walked toward Natasha who had her arms chained to a bed and placed a Santa hat with reindeer antlers attached to it on her head.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome!" She squealed. "It looks good on you."
"Thanks, you look beautiful in that dress."
"Oh!" She giggled. "I hope you don't die."
Happily skipping toward Steve who was chained to a metal beam she placed a Santa hat on him. "Can you let us go?" He asked her.
She smiled and placed a hand on his cheek. "Not going to happen, flag boy." She giggled before slapping him.
Skipping towards Barton, who was shirtless and hanging from his feet from the ceiling and placed a Santa Claus hat with elf ears on his head and tied it to his chin.
Barton groaned in pain as blood trickled from his back onto the ground, where a metal device sat in a pool of his blood.
"Why won't it stop bleeding?!" A man asked followed by seven other people while holding his nose.
"She did a really good job on that, didn't she?" One of them laughed.
"Good thing there ripping her canines out."
"They say their sending the widow and her back to Dreykov." Another added.
"We shouldn't say his name." Bliss, who was one of the seven walked in between them, pushing them out of the way.
"Watch it!" The guy yelled before groaning as he held his nose. "You treat Dreykov like this…" He was interrupted as a blood curdling scream rang through the warehouse.
Alex ripped the searchlight off its mantle before slamming it on the guard. "Now that's taken care of!" Walking to the ladder he stopped when a faint cry came from inside of the warehouse before a blood curdling scream. "Alexis!"
"He's getting his pay!" One of them laughed.
A gust of wind burst through the warehouse, Rebecca and the other seven were thrown. Rebecca slammed into a metal pole knocking her out. Bliss slammed into another metal pole by Natasha and bounced off, rolling she stopped by her bed. The others slammed on the ground and lost consciousness.
Alex busted a door down revealing Alexis chained to the wall and a man holding a pair of pliers, moving forward he noticed three canines lying on a table in a pool of blood and one more in the pliers jaws.
The guy screamed as he fell through the ceiling and landed on the ground level where the three Avengers were being held.
Alex landed on the ground holding Alexis in his arms with blood dripping from her mouth. Gently placing her on Natasha he ripped her chains out of the wall. Natasha wrapped her arms around her.
He then knelt down and felt Bliss's pulse before pushing her under the bed.
Alex stood up and glared at the man as he tried crawling away. "That broken leg isn't helping." He stepped on it sending him howling in pain.
The man tried attacking him but was kicked in the face. Grabbing him by the head he punched him in the face slamming the back of his head on the ground.
He stood up and grabbed his leg causing him to groan in pain. "Hurts doesn't it!" He spun him in the air before letting go, slamming into a pole he bounced and landed beside Steve.
The guy wheezed as he tried to breathe. "Sounds like some broken parts…" He stepped on his leg as he walked by. Chuckling he knelt on the guy's chest causing him to groan in pain. He punched him in the face spraying blood all over the floor. He continued punching him until his face was disfigured and his breathing became labored. Fueled with rage he shoved his thumbs in his eyes causing blood to squirt on his face.
Alex sat up as he took his final breath. He slowly slid off the body and stood up, turning around, he walked toward Alexis as his face was covered and dripping with blood.
Reaching Alexis he wiped her hair out of her face. "Sorry Alexis." He said softly. Taking off his hoodie he placed it atop her.
One of the six attackers groaned as he awoke, standing up he held his head. "Come on, you guys." He stumbled to his feet. "We can take him!" He said louder as he grabbed a baseball bat.
One by one the other five including Rebecca woke up. Natasha felt something hit her back as a loud, "Ow!" Came after. A small thud was heard as Bliss fell unconscious again. Alex bit his lip as he held in his laughter.
The other five grabbed weapons and surrounded Alex. The guy with the bat swung it toward him. He stumbled forward as the bat shattered to pieces upon contact.
Alex grabbed the man by the neck and picked him up. One of the attackers threw a chain at him with a bladed end. Alex grabbed the chain, letting go of the attacker he headbutted him before wrapping the chain around his neck and tightened causing him to gasp for air.
Pulling the chain toward him the holder flew forward giving him the opportunity to attack, punching him he flipped over on his chest. Throwing the bladed end in his back sent him howling in pain.
Stomping on the blade it went through and lodged into the floor. The attacker screamed as he tried to escape.
One of the attackers pulled out a handgun and started firing, another opened a box and grabbed an automatic. Running to the open he started firing as well. As the bullets flew out, they shattered like glass hitting the floor.
Alexis gasped as she awoke, she felt pain in her mouth. Expecting her torture to be all a dream she checked her mouth. Her lower lip quivered as she slid her hands over her face. Shaking her head she sobbed.
Natasha tightened her grip on her. "Calm down baby girl." She whispered. "Why would they do this to me?" Alexis spoke through tears. "I never wanted this…" She gasped for air.
"I know you didn't." Natasha pushed her head into her chest as she continued to sob.
"Stay back you freak!" The guy with the automatic walked back as Alex walked closer. Each bullet shattering before hitting him. Alex grabbed the gun and threw it aside, grabbing him by the neck he picked him up. "When will you learn!" He growled.
The attacker squirmed as he tried to escape. "You're not going anywhere!" He growled.
The attacker gagged as blue veins spread up his neck. He stopped moving as his skin hardened leaving a lifeless frozen cocoon with his final breath being that of condensation. Alex dropped the body, shattering as it contacted the ground.
The guy holding the handgun threw it on the ground as it had run out of bullets, yelling he ran toward Alex; Alex grabbed his arm and flipped him over on his back before punching his neck breaking his windpipe, leaving him to suffocate.
Looking around he found no one else, as the others must have left. Rebecca ran toward him; she was flung across the room as he punched her in the face.
Walking toward Alexis he was interrupted as Blake ran into him. Running him through the walls he let go and punched him in the face, knocking him down."
"You killed Dylan!" He picked him up and threw him into the middle of the room. "You are going to pay for that." He ran out of the room and punched him in the face as he got up.
Alex jumped to his feet and threw a punch at him. Dodging the attack he punched him the side causing him to collapse to the ground, writhing in pain.
"You should've stayed away!" He picked him up by the neck and punched him in the side again before throwing him to the side.
Alex landed beside the bed, groaning, he held his side as he used the bed as support to get to his knees.
"Rachel died because you were weak!" Blake snarled, walking toward him.
Alex stood up and punched Blake in the throat as hard as he could. Blake gasped for air as he held his neck and fell to his knees. Alex stumbled back and fell, crying out in pain he lifted his shirt. His bruise doubled in size and was bleeding. His breathing became labored as he leaned against the bed.
Alexis tried to get up but was stopped by Natasha. A few moments later, Bliss groaned as she crawled out from underneath the bed.
She groaned as she stood up, walking to a crate she opened it and pulled out a bag. Walking back to a now unconscious Alex she knelt down in front of him.
A door opened as approaching footsteps came quickly after. Stopping, a red-haired, 6'6 athletic toned man stood beside the metal beam. "Oh…" He quickly turned around seeing the state of Alex. "Uh…" He wiped his mouth. "H-How is he doing?" He asked in a shaky tone.
Bliss stood up and touched his arm. "He's still alive… can you clean up?"
"Uh… yeah." He nodded his head.
"He's going to be fine, don't worry." She stood on the tips of her toes and kissed his cheek.
"Thanks." He responded before walking away. "I'm going to back in the trailer." A few minutes later the roar of a semi's engine turned on, another few minutes later he had it backed up to the warehouse. Walking back in he opened the trailer door and jumped inside. He walked back in with tarps and duct tape.
Unraveling one of the tarps he placed it on the ground. Walking to an attacker he stopped as he heard cracking on the floor, looking down he found the frozen chunks. "Interesting." He knelt down and picked one up, sniffing it he licked it. He popped it into his mouth before standing up.
He checked the other attackers pulse. "Broken windpipe." He mumbled. Picking him up, he placed him in the tarp. Wrapping him up, he duck taped him into a cocoon before picking him up. Climbing into the trailer he hung him from a metal hook in the roof.
Hopping back out, he brought a broom, dustpan, and a garbage can. Sweeping up the frozen meat popsicle he tied the bag and tossed it into the trailer. While cleaning up, he quickly freed Steve and Barton.
"Thank you." Steve said rubbing his wrists, stomping on his shield he latched it onto his arm.
"You're welcome." He responded.
Barton groaned as he sat on the floor. He checked his hearing aids which were gifts by Tony before grabbing his implants from the floor. "You know how much money these costed?"
"Tony will make you new ones." Natasha said.
"Unfortunately for us he is on a mission with Max."
"Right now we need to worry about getting out of here." Steve said. "I'm going to search the area, find us some transportation."
"You do that." Natasha responded.
Steve ran out of the warehouse. The other guy knelt in front of the attacker with the blade in his back and checked his pulse. "Still alive. Fresh dinner." He mumbled. Pulling out the blade, he held it up. "Nice blade." He wiped it off and looked at it some more. "Pretty sharp." He touched the tip.
"Sebastian?"
"What?" He turned around to find Bliss staring at him.
"You can play with that later."
"Sorry." He slid the blade behind him.
"No need to apologize." She said. "Hey…"
"What?" He looked back.
"Love you."
"Love you, too." He responded before turning around. Unraveling another tarp he put him into a cocoon and hung him in the truck.
Stopping at the guy who was chained to the pole, he broke the chain in half like it was paper, unraveling the chain, he grabbed the guy as he fell. Checking his pulse, he put him into a cocoon and into the truck.
He checked Rebecca's pulse before standing up again. "What should we do with Rebecca?"
Bliss furrowed her eyebrows in thought. "Um… call the boss. I don't know."
He reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone. Pressing on the screen he put it to his ear. "Hey… boss. Uh… what should we do with Rebecca?"
"Yeah, she's still alive." He placed his hand on the back of his neck. "I… think so, let me check." Sebastian ran to the semi and checked inside the trailer. "We have two of them." He walked in holding two pairs of handcuffs.
"Okay… yeah. Okay, I'll do that. See you soon." He spoke before hanging up and sliding it back in his pocket.
"What did he say?" Bliss asked.
"He wants us to take her with us."
"Sounds like him." She chuckled.
Sebastian handcuffed her hands behind her back, and then her ankles. Grabbing the blade from behind him, he grabbed her hair and cut it to short length. The hair dropped on the floor and disappeared, while the remaining hair turned white.
Picking her up, he placed her in the cab. Walking back in, he stopped when he heard slow clapping. "Congratulations!" A voice spoke.
Bliss looked at Sebastian before toward the voice.
"Remarkable!" A 7'0', Black haired man wearing a fur coat smoking a cigar appeared in the light before stabbing Blake in the back, piercing his heart. "Max's two little spies are here. It took me awhile to find out it was you two." He took his cigar out of his mouth and breathed it out. "Here is what's going to happen, I'm going to kill Bliss, and then you, Sebastian. And then your brother, Alex.
Sebastian glared at him. "That's not going to happen, dad!"
"Of course it is!" He said sternly. "There is no other option, besides death!"
Sebastian ran toward Richie and punched him. Richie caught his balance and punched him back causing him to fall on his back.
"It really pains me to do this..." He slid his spear out of Blake. Raising the spear to get the killing blow he was hit in the head knocking him down, looking around he found Steve catching his shield and sliding it onto his arm. "A shame what happened to Schmidt." He groaned standing up.
"I didn't cry much." Steve replied.
Richie chuckled before throwing his spear at Steve; Steve blocked the attack and rolled out of the way from another, maneuvering around he slammed his shield in his inner knee and smacked him in the face with his shield on his way down knocking him on his back.
He laughed as he got up. "You're handy with your little shield."
"I'm just the distraction."
"Wha..." Two blades interrupted him as they went through his back. He groaned in pain as he fell to his knees. "I should've known." He laughed as Max walked in front of him wearing jeans and a white hooded tank top.
"Richie!" He growled.
"You've gotten wiser." He groaned before coughing up blood.
"You should have left my family out of this!"
"Never let your emotions get in the way!" He mustered the last of his strength to attack him but was interrupted as the Unibeam went through his chest. "This isn't over." He winced before falling forward.
"We'll be ready!" Max ripped the knives out of his back before decapitating him.
"Sebastian, Barbara, get going…" Max sheathed his blades. "I'll take Alex, move it!" He shouted before picking up Alex.
"On it!" The two ran to the semi-truck, closing and locking the trailer they got in started it up before leaving.
"We're not bringing him with us." Tony said as Max walked toward the entrance.
"Yes, we are." Max said walking out of the warehouse followed by Natasha and Barton.
"We'll discuss this at the tower." Steve walked past him.
"That's my tower!" Tony growled before flying out through the roof.
Alex laid on a medical bed with a feeding, and breathing tube, and any other medical essentials to keep him alive. "Any news?" Max asked walking into the tower's medical bay alongside Natasha.
"I don't know…" Morbius replied. "Nothing is wrong with him beside the broken ribs and a punctured lung. I've never seen this before, he's in a coma from something that I don't know."
The door opened as Barton walked in. "You're going to want to see this."
The three walked out and into the foyer to find a blizzard raging outside. "What is going on?" Max asked.
The Avengers looked at them before turning back to the tv. "As you can see a massive storm has come out of nowhere..." Honking was heard as the camera turned toward a large semi-truck trying to stop but slid right into the reporter and her cameraman. *Static! *
"Uh... we're having some technical difficulties." The newscaster said before the tv shut off.
"We need to find out what's going on." Steve said.
"It's Alex." Morbius walked into the living room.
"What are you talking about?" Tony asked.
"I've been studying on the Wendigo since I've been here, and it's quite fascinating, when it becomes in a life-threatening condition it creates storms, as a defense mechanism."
"How do we make it stop?" Tony asked.
"I don't think we can." Steve shook his head as he walked toward the balcony and looked out the window.
"I do know one thing…" He turned around to face the Avengers. "We have a problem." He spoke as cars continued piling up on each other, and cars sliding to a stop just before hitting someone.
