Clutching her bag closely to her chest, Isobel paused as she stepped out of the hospital lobby and quickly looked around. She knew that she couldn't go home, they would be waiting for her. She knew that attack was not a random attack against LAPD officers. She was positive that the violent attack on Tim had been a warning of what would happen to her if she didn't pay back the money she owed. Trembling as the need for another hit was becoming too strong to ignore. She turned and scurried down the street, glancing several times over her shoulder, fearful that she was being followed.

Sighing as he hit the disconnect button on his phone, Jackson scribbled a line through the name on his notebook before he looked across at Angela and announced, "Johnson has an airtight alibi. Pacific arrested him five days ago for an attempted arm robbery, he was transferred to Men's Central four days ago where he has spent most of his time in Solitary after fighting with the prison guards when they tried to search him after his arrival."
Angela nodded as she looked across the desk at her boot, "We can also cross Ramírez off as well. His parole officer just confirmed that he died of cancer two years ago." Looking back down at her own dwindled list of potential suspects, she slashed a black line through a name on before she looked back up at Jackson and shrugged, "I guess you can't get a more airtight alibi than that."
Looking back down at the list of names on his notepad, Jackson shook his head, "I've always known that we make enemies in this job, but I never thought that we could make this many."
Looking down at her own list, Angela sighed, "This list is short compared to how many threats some of the other guys have had made against them. Some criminals blame us for catching them because they don't want to do the time." Nodding towards her boot's notepad, she asked, "Finished?"
"Yeah," Jackson answered, glancing again at the names and addresses not crossed out on his list, "I have three we need to check."
Angela nodded as she rose to her feet, "I have four." Turning to look back to look at her boot as she headed towards the door, she snapped, "Are you coming, Boot?"
Jumping to his feet as he snapped his notebook closed, Jackson tried to shove both his notebook and his phone into his pockets as he rushed to catch up with his T.O. as he stuttered, "Yeah- yeah, I'm coming."
"Hey Smitty!"
Jackson almost ran into the back of his T.O as Angela suddenly slowed and changed direction heading towards the older officer as Smitty ambled his way slowly, in typical Smitty fashion, across the lobby.
"How did you go with the homeowner?" Angela asked as she reached him.
"The homeowner claims he never made a 911 call about any burglary last night. In fact, he claims he wasn't even home, that he only arrived back this morning after returning from an out of state business meeting."
"Could he back up what he was saying?" Angela frowned.
"Yeah," Smitty answered, "He called his boss who confirmed that he had been away overnight on an out of state business trip and that he caught the red eye flight back from Atlanta. The plane landed at 6.30 am this morning."
"What about the neighbors?" Angela quizzed her colleague, wanting to glean as much information as she could from him.
"Most of the neighbors claimed to have been asleep, and the ones who were awake said they didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. The homeowner allowed me to check out and download his security camera footage from last night. There's no footage of Bradford's shop or Bradford either arriving or leaving the scene after he responded to the call." Smitty sighed as he held up a USB stick, "I even bought back a copy to double check it before I give my report to Grey."
Angela swallowed hard, as she placed her hand on the older officer's arm, aware as much as Smitty usually tried to get out of work, just like the rest of the Wiltshire family, he would put every effort into finding the person responsible for attacking Tim. "Thanks, Smitty."
Smitty nodded as he turned and hurried away.
Turning back to Jackson as she led him into the police parking lot and towards their shop, she announced, "There's one more suspect I want to interview who isn't on our list."
Jackson frowned as he opened the passenger door of the shop. "Who?" he asked as he climbed into the passenger seat and closed the door, looking across at his T.O..
"Tim's wife - Isabel Bradford." Angela answered as she slipped the key into the ignition and started the car before turning her head to look at her boot.
"That woman at the hospital? That was Tim's wife?... I didn't even know he was married." Jackson's frown deepened, "She… umm... . she looked like a -"
"Junkie hanging out for her next hit?" Angela finished for him; he nodded as she continued. "She is and probably was."
"Do you really think she could be involved?" Jackson asked, staring at her as she put the car into drive and began to coast out of the underground parking lot and out onto the road.
Unknowingly echoing the same words that Talia had told John, Angela answered, "I don't know but the fact that she suddenly made an appearance at the hospital after Tim was attacked puts her right on the top of my suspect list."
