Later on that very same day: Just as dusk was beginning to creep up upon the sky above the streets of Tomoeda, Eriol, (in a split-second decision), had invited Saku, Kero-chan, Yue-san, Tomoyo-chan, and Li-kun over for tea at his house.
It was about time the father and daughter pair explained everything. Eriol knew that they all deserved to know the truth. Not just his truth, but Saku's truth as well. And, now that Eriol was thinking about it: His daughter still had quite a bit of explaining to do to him too.
"Why did you do it?" Tomoyo asked the bespectacled sorcerer as they all sat around the table in the formal dining room in Eriol's house.
"The cards were dying, so was Yue." Eriol turned his gaze briefly towards the silver-haired Moon guardian. "Simply put: Saku's magic wasn't strong enough to sustain them. The Clow Cards were powered by the Sun and the Moon, but Saku's magic is based on the Star. Thus, they had to be transformed, to match her magic." Eriol explained matter-of-factly.
Saku turned briefly to meet Eriol's gaze, before quickly turning back toward her friends and guardians. She couldn't let her secret slip out too soon. Because, after all, Eriol-kun still needed to explain to the other occupants of the room exactly why it was that he created those specific scenarios in particular for Saku to overcome in the first place.
Mentally kicking herself for what she was about to ask, Saku stealed her nervs, and quietly asked Eriol the first question that came to the forefront of her mind.
"But why must you create all of those… situations just to get me to change the cards?" Saku asked, sounding as blunt as ever as she spoke. "Why not just tell me?"
In responce to this, Eriol merely raised an amused eyebrow directed entirely toward his young daughter. While at the same time: Saku had to refrain from banging her head on the table and screaming out of pure embarrassment for how painfully stupid and childish that particular question sounded when spoken aloud for everyone to hear.
Eriol was quiet for a moment. "It's more than just transforming the cards, Saku. It's about making you a stronger and a better magician. Do you remember what happened with The Dash?" he gave Saku a questioning look upon bringing up the incident with the Dash Card that had had occured a mere few weeks prior to the present day.
At that particular comment, Saku let out a small squeek, and hid her face in the folds of her cloak. "Oh, shut up, Hii. You're not helping me in anyway in regards to making me forget that specific event anytime soon." She grumbled once more, before finally lifting her head back up, and giving the dark mage next to her a scathing look.
Eriol merely gave her a cheeky grin in response to her dower look. "Relax, Saku. I'm only using that as an example, not as a way to poke fun at you." He quietly tried to reassure his young daughter.
Once Saku had cooled off for the most part, Eriol began speaking again. "Anyways, as I was saying: Like with the Dash Card fiasco, if you, Saku, had been made aware of all this from the very start: You might have done something reckless that may have even resulted in a highly more undesirable alternative. One of witch, isn't something any of us in this room would've enjoyed in the slightest."
He didn't need to speak aloud the alternative in question that he had outright refused to bring up. For both he, himself, along with his daughter and her friends: Were all very much aware of the consequences that would have befallen the young Card Mistress if she had had gone too far with her attempts to change the rest of the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards.
