Chapter 01

Once the bus arrived at the Alamo I got off with the rest of the students and walked towards the historical site.

I walked at the front next to Jentry, watching as the rest of the students filed off the bus. The air was thick with excitement and the faint scent of history.

I glanced behind the other students to see Kit who seemed to be staring at Jentry with a peculiar look in his eyes, something that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

"Oh, I'm sorry! Am I boring you?!" The tour guide Billy B-...something... Exclaimed getting all our attention.

"Cause' one hundred Texas patriots..." He pointed to the ground. "Died on the soil you're standing on."

Stella lifted a foot in disgust. "Yuck, is that even sanitary?"

"You think freedom is unsanitary." Billy dryly said, crossing his arms. "Maybe it's not always gonna come out and be prewashed..."

As the moron kept ranting about whatever I noticed Jentry glanced at Kit for a few seconds before looking away with a small blush.

That irked me for some reason, why was she blushing at him?

"Sometimes, when you're out fighting for the Independence of Texas or Mexico, It's gonna get messy!" Billy continued, his voice rising with irritation. All of us were looking at him with skepticism.

Me, Jentry and Michael looked at each other before Michael spoke. "Uh, you know they were fighting for some... really screwed up stuff right?

Jentry nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that was way more a part of it then people want to admit."

"Yeah, Bro!" Chet one of the students piped in. "Only colonizers wanna remember the Alamo."

"Yeah, I know it's "In" right now to accuse our great American heroes of being problematic. But you weren't there, so stop bullying me!" He said, crossing his arms.

I couldn't help but sweatdrop at the awkwardness of the situation.

'Bullying? Nobodies bullying him of anything...' I thought to myself deadpanning at the tour guide's dramatics.

Billy easily composed himself. "But don't worry, cause you're here to learn." He smiled. "We'll do a realistic reenactment of the battle that you get to perform." He said almost darkly at the end, going unnoticed by everyone as they groaned in dismay.

Unnoticed by everyone... but me.

I narrowed my eyes at the laughing Billy walking back to the museum.

Vice-principle Wheeler moved in front of us. "Oookay, students. He said looking at all of us a little weirded out by Billy. "Stay in your groups and remember, if you see something aflame..." He looked at Jentry. "Record it. Report it." He glared at her.

Everyone dispersed going to the Museum as Jentry looked left and right with a small frown .

Ed popped out of an open bus window. "So who are we scaring first?" He said with a small grin.

Jentry looked at him in confusion. "Scaring? No Ed. I'm gonna make friends with them."

Ed scoffed at this. "Ugh, that's easy for you to say. They're already scared of you." He said as Wheeler walked by them not taking his glaring eyes off Jentry.

I got in front of Jentry giving Wheeler a glare that said "knock it off or else."

He flinched before he walked back into the bus and Jentry looked at me with a grateful smile. "Thanks," she murmured.

I smiled back "No problem."

I looked at Ed. "You want to scare someone? Try Wheeler."

Ed's eyes twinkled with mischief. "Oh, I will." He said, rubbing his hands and laughing like a cliche cartoon villain.

3rd P.O.V

Meanwhile Inside the Museum everyone was looking at the exhibits with either boredom or fascination.

"Ooh, what's this?" Chet said, eyeing a gold ring on one of the exhibits before swiping it.

His friend Kevin looked at him in disbelief and amusement. "Dude, you can't touch that."

"Hah, Oh, yeah, Kevin Nguyen? I don't see a glass box around it." Chet said, walking past Kevin as he admired the ring.

He held up the ring with a smug grin. "Yo! Check me out! I'm-." Chet stopped as dropped the ring before his body started to move and bend in a strange way. "Travis." He said in a different voice. "William Barret Travis."

Kevin looked at his friend taking a step back freaked out by this.

"Travis." A different male voice said behind him he looked back to see a blonde girl hunch forward before looking up, her eyes completely black and veined. "There you are."

Kevin looked at her in horror. "Wh-what's happening? What's going on."

"I already told you." Billy said walking up to the possessed black eyed Chet.

Kevin turned to him with wide eyes.

Billy smirked. "After the scavenger hunt, we have the reenactment. And it needs to be realistic." He placed a hand on Chet's shoulder.

Billy looked up to his left. "Ain't that right, Colonel Bowie?"

"It sure is, Billy!" Another possessed student said. "You know how I love to relive the glory days." He said with malice.

Kevin ran in a panic as the students around him started to be possessed one by one.

"Someone take this one!" Colonel Bowie said, pointing at Kevin.

Kevin looked behind him as he ran. "Ahhh!"

1st P.O.V

I deadpanned as I heard Wheeler singing something about not getting respect and making sure everything is perfect inside the bus.

"Seriously...?" I muttered under my breath, before walking beside Jentry. "Hey, you okay?"

"Oh! Y-yeah! Yeah, I'm fine. In fact I'm great!" She said a little too cheerfully.

I looked at her with raised eyebrow. "You're not fooling anyone, Chau."

Her cheerful facade cracked a bit. "It's just...I'm supposed to be making friends with everyone, but..." She trailed off, looking at her feet as we approached the museum.

"It's hard because they fear you and what your powers are capable of..." I said, placing a hand on her shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.

Jentry sighed heavily, looking up at me with those sad eyes of hers. "I just want to live a normal life," she whispered, the weight of her words echoing in the stillness of the afternoon.

A normal life.

Those words echoed in my soul.

A normal life is something I haven't had since...

I died three years ago.

I sighed. "A normal life...sometimes people aren't given that. But you are always the one who decides how you live it." I looked into her eyes with a serious gaze.

Jentry looked up at me with a glimmer of hope. "Thanks, Miko."

I chuckled. "Hey I can't exactly stand to see a cute girl be upset." I grinned.

Jentry rolled her eyes, a small smile playing on her lips. "Thanks, I guess."

"No problem, now why don't you show everyone the real you." I encouraged her with a nudge.

Jentry took a deep breath before walking into the museum with a determined look on her face. We stopped at the front entrance as I noticed Jentry texting someone on her phone.

"Texting someone?" I asked Jentry, curiosity piquing.

"Just texting a friend from Seoul." She said as she finished texting.

I nodded, not saying anything as I gestured for her. "Ladies first."

Jentry looked at me surprised before she took a deep breath and walked into the Museum with a slightly nervous smile.

I followed her inside with a smile before my eyes widened in shock at what I saw.

"What the fuck...?"

My eyes scanned the chaotic scene inside the museum. Students were scattered, some running in fear, others standing still with eerie, blackened eyes, their voices echoing with the spirits of long-dead soldiers. The air was thick with an unnatural tension, a stark contrast to the excitement that had been present just minutes ago.

The ghosts who hadn't possessed anyone yet were floating around, looking for hosts. Jentry's eyes widened in horror as she saw her classmates being taken over one by one.

We saw Michael, Stella, and Kit huddled together back to back as ghosts surrounded them.

Jentry ran forward as one of them tried to possess Michael. "Leave them alone!" She exclaimed as she pulled them away. "We need to get out of here now!"

"Shit!" I cursed as I followed them.

The ghosts took notice of us, their spectral forms twisting in our direction, hunger for the living in their gazes.

One of the possessed students tackled Jentry before they dog piled her.

"Chau!" I shouted, moving into her aid as I pulled one of them off her with Kit and Michael helping, once they were off her I pulled her up to her feet. "You okay?"

Jentry nodded with a serious look in her eyes. "We... we have to get out of here."

"Jentry, you okay?" Stella asked in concern standing behind us.

My eyes widened as a ghost appeared behind her about to possess her.

"Gonzalez, duck!" I shouted before pointing my index finger.

When Stella did just that, a ball of crimson flames shot out of my finger, hitting the ghost in the chest and sending it flying.

Their eyes widened at what I did. "Miko, d-did you just..." Jentry stuttered out, her gaze on my finger, still smoking from the flame.

"I'll explain later. Go! Go!" I urged Jentry and the others as the ghosts started to advance on us.

Jentry nodded and took off with Stella and Michael right behind her. Kit looked at me for a brief second before he took off after them, his gaze unreadable.

I followed them out of the museum looking back before running.

"Quick, into the Alamo now!" I yelled over the chaos, my heart racing as we sprinted towards the historic fort. The possessed weren't far behind us, their chilling laughter and echoing footsteps a haunting soundtrack to our desperate escape.

Once inside we barricaded the door with a heavy table and chairs, panting and looking around at each other with a mix of shock and confusion.

Suddenly we noticed a small figure inside the fort, suddenly a light under his chin emitted showing it was Ed. "Ugh..." He groaned with tears and snot on his face.

"Ed! What are you doing here?" Jentry lowered down to his height facepalming.

Ed showed his phone with tears still in his eyes. "Look! Look at this! I've been turned into a meme!" He exclaimed over dramatically before scrolling his phone.

"Now everyone's comparing me to a cute duck!?" He pouted, blushing in anger and embarrassment, showing a picture of a duck wearing a red cap like him. "I've been trying to make scary videos to compensate, but people keep dueting them." He said scrolling more showing pictures of him and the duck. "I'm so humiliated!" He sobbed.

I deadpanned as Me, Michael, and Kit held up the barricaded door. "Really?" I asked dryly. "Uh, Ed no offense but we got bigger things to worry about right now." I grunted as the possessed teens tried to push the barricade open.

"We need to defend ourselves." Kit grunted as he took a firm stand next to the barricade.

"Sure," Michael said sarcastically, his eyes never leaving the barricade, "they have a class full of students possessed by violent soldiers." He grunted as the barricade was pushed harder. "And what do we have?"

We paused for a moment as we all turned to Jentry.

"We have Jentry." Kit spoke, giving her a small smile.

Jentry froze like a statue as she pointed at herself in disbelief.

Once she got her bearings she nervously poked her fingers looking at anywhere but us. "I don't know what you're, uh..."

"You have powers. I saw them.

That's why you set fires to things, right?" Kit said with a gentle voice, trying to break through her shock.

"I, uh..." She exclaimed nervously, taking a step back.

Michael spoke up as well ."Jentry, you know I saw them too."

But she still tried to deny it, if weakly. "I don't... You're not remembering correctly." I noticed her hands slowly glowing due to her nerves.

Stella nodded in agreement with Michael. "Jentry, you can do this," she encouraged, her voice filled with belief.

"I mean, you did take down a Mogui with them." Ed said sly before doing the puppy dog eyes

Jentry looked at her hands that were about to Ignite and just before they burst into flames she closed her hands reigning in her powers "No!"

Everything went silent for a minute before she spoke up again. "Ever since I came back, the only thing that's defined me is how fricking weird I am, how not normal I am, how I'm scary and dangerous." Jentry said in a frustrated tone.

"You four were the only ones who saw me as more than the demon girl of Riverfork," she continued looking at the four of us. "But after last week, I didn't want you to see me the way everyone else does."

Jentry...

I looked at her with sympathy, since I knew what it felt like to have a destiny that you didn't ask for to be thrusted upon you.

I sighed before looking into her eyes. "Jentry, It's okay, you don't have to use your powers if you don't want to," I gave her a small smile before glaring at Kit. "Besides, if she did use her powers, it probably would've made things worse."

"What do you mean?" Kit asked, his gaze intense and curious.

I rolled my eyes. "Think Kit, what's attacking us aren't monsters or demons, they're kids possessed by the ghost of crazy dead soldiers, what do you think is going to happen to our classmates if Jentry did use her fire?" I pointed out.

One by one they put two and two together, the horror dawning on their faces as the truth hit them like a ton of bricks.

"Everyone would be burned alive..." Stella murmured, her face paling at the realization.

Jentry looked down, guilt etched in her features. "But we have to do something!" she exclaimed, her voice shaking with fear and determination.

She then remembered. "Miko, what about you? you shot a fireball at a ghost to save Stella." She looked at me with hope in her eyes.

I shook my head with a frown. "Sorry Jentry, while I have control over my own flames they can't exactly be used for exorcism, saving Gonzalez was a spur of the moment thing." I said before glancing at Stella. "You're welcome, by the way."

"Oh, y-yeah, thanks..." Stella stammered, still visibly shaken by the turn of events.

I nodded before speaking again. "We have no choice but to find another wa-shit!" I exclaimed as an arm burst through the barricade.

We took stepped back as more arms started to emerge from the barricade, the possessed students' eyes burning with the fury of the long-dead soldiers. The pressure against the makeshift barricade grew stronger, and it was clear that it wouldn't hold much longer.

"Double shit." I muttered under my breath as I saw the barricade start to give way. "We're gonna have to improvise."

As a stupid Idea popped into my head I ran to the side of the barricade and held out my hands like I was holding something.

"What's he doing?!" Jentry's voice was laced with panic as she watched me.

What I did next threw them for a loop.

"Stay back, I got a chainsaw! Rumumumumumum!" I said making chainsaw noises making Jentry, Stella, Michael, Kit, and Ed, facefault at my ridiculousness.

"Ughh. Seriously?" Jentry groaned, covering her face with her hands as the possessed students paused, seemingly confused by my chainsaw charade.

"Rumumumumumum!" I kept up the chainsaw sounds, my hands shaking like they were holding a real one.

"Rumumumu-" the possessed teens pulled back their arms and peeked inside the holes glaring dryly at me. "-mumumum..."

They continued to glare. "...mumumum..."

"...mumum.." still glaring.

"...mumum...uh-oh." was all i said before they shoved back their arms and went to try and reach for us again.

I took a step back again. "Well that's all I got..." I said sheepishly, dropping my arms.

The barricade was almost gone as we heard the sound of wood cracking and groaning under the pressure of the possessed students.

And just as one of them was about to get in Ed kicked one of them back "hyah!" Once there was an opening he climbed out.

"Ed, don't hurt them!" Jentry called out, her voice filled with worry.

Ed looked back at her. "I'm just gonna distract them," he clarified before turning to the possessed teens and glared. "With fear."

He floated upwards before landing behind them taller and slender wearing a mandarin uniform from the Qing dynasty.

He turned around wearing a jiangshi mask "You wanna hurt my bestie," He said in a deep voice getting the attention of the possessed and Billy, Ed's mask shifting into a frown. "you gotta go through me."

They looked at Ed for a second before turning around and continued trying to get through the barricade.

"Hey! I said you gotta go through me!" Ed shouted, his voice echoing in the room. Unfortunately, the possessed students didn't seem to find his costume intimidating, as they continued their relentless pursuit.

Jentry stumbled back as one nearly made it through the barricade.

Outside Ed back in his short form looked on before he sighed. "Okay, Universe, you win."

As the possessed teens continued to break the door down a light emitted behind them. "Hey everyone! Look at me!" A cheerful voice said, making them turn around to see Ed with his back turned as he started beatboxing.

Badly I might add...

Ed turned around...and started to sing. " My name is Ed But I'm bigger than Cullen "

" I'm way better looking He's brooding and sullen " the possessed watched Ed's performance in utter confusion, momentarily forgetting their mission.

He somehow duplicated into three and twirled around. " I'm a jiangshi And we're bringers of death " he winked.

Billy in confusion and disbelief noticed that the possessed teens started laughing.

" We drink cow's blood But only at night " Ed continued as the Amused dead soldiers walked closer to the impromptu stage.

" We're afraid of black dogs 'Cause they give us a fright " by now all the possessed teens were laughing and distracted as Ed continued to sing.

Billy angered by this he tried to get their attention but to no avail. "Stop it! Everyone, focus! This isn't what happened at the Alamo!" He sobbed at the end.

Behind him Kit was looking at what was happening from the hole in the door. "Well, they're... distracted." He said in a surprised tone.

I turned to Jentry with a raised eyebrow. "Ed's a Jiangshi?" I questioned, not sure if I heard right.

"Y-yeah, it's kind of a long story." She said, her cheeks reddening with embarrassment.

Michael spoke up next. "Okay. Jentry. Gugu knows about all this supernatural stuff, right?" He suggested, looking hopeful. "She ever tell you how to kill a bunch of ghosts?" He asked, leaning to her as if she was an encyclopedia.

Jentry frowned in irritation. "Why would she tell me that? I don't know!" She exclaimed before she noticed a cannon outside. "Wait a sec." She muttered as if she remembered something.

"Loud noises. I might know how to make them let go." She said getting our attention.

"Well let's hear it, before Ed runs out of things to sing." I said as I watched him continue his performance outside.

Soon we quietly hopped out of a window one by one, just as we were heading for the cannon Billy noticed us. "It's a distraction! Get after them!" He shouted, the possessed teens started to move towards us.

We reached the cannon as the possessed teens slowly turned towards us, the sound of their laughter fading as they realized our escape. "Look for a cannonball! Over there!" Jentry instructed Michael.

As Michael went to search for a cannonball we moved the cannon to face the possessed students as they were getting closer. "Jentry, do you know how to do this?" Stella whispered nervously.

"Working on it." Jentry was reading the instructions on a copy of the flier we had been given at the start of the trip.

"Shit. "Enjoy the trip" he says "make some friends" he says, "what could possibly go wrong?" he says. Yeah thanks for jinxing it Dad." I ranted to myself as I helped Kit adjust the Cannon.

'Miko!' I heard Musashi's voice in my head, 'you need to transform!'

'Uhh, yeeah, slight problem I left my Eyecon back at the house.' i mentally replied sheepishly to Musashi.

'wha-why?! You never leave your house without your Eyecon!' Musashi's voice in my head sounded frantic.

I grunted as we moved the cannon. 'Blame my Dad! He's the one who thought it was a good idea to leave it home. Besides, I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to use it for this.' I thought back to Musashi, trying to keep the conversation in my head from showing on my face.

"What's wrong?" Jentry looked at me concerned, as the possessed students were getting closer.

I grinned nervously at Jentry. "It's nothing," I lied, pushing the panic aside. "Let's just focus on the cannon."

Just then Michael came back with a bag of gunpowder and a cannonball. Jentry noticed the possessed teens getting closer.

"Nowhere left to run." One of the black-eyed students sneered, the ghosts of the past seemingly enjoying the chase.

After Michael put the cannonball inside the barrel Jentry helped us adjust the Cannon "I need you to buy more time!"

"What should I do?" Michael asked, his eyes darting back and forth between Jentry and the approaching threat.

"Just push them back. Imagine it's a football game." She said as she checked the flier again.

"That's more of a linebacker thing! I'm a wide receiver!" He exclaimed.

"I don't know football things!" Jentry argued back before we noticed some of them getting closer. "Michael, Go!"

He passed the gunpowder to Jentry who caught it as Kit and I followed to help.

Kit blocked one of them trying to stab him with a knife he managed to disarm the possessed student.

As for me well, I wasn't one to pull me punches, I roundhouse kicked another one who was getting too close, sending them flying into a nearby bench.

"Miko, don't hurt them!" Jentry called out as we continued to fend off the possessed students.

"You tell them that-ugh!" I grunted as one of the possessed students tackled me to the ground, knocking the wind out of my lungs. Their eyes, once bright with the spark of life, were now a lifeless black, filled with malice.

I struggled against Chet for a bit before I kneed him in the dick, causing him to double over, and I got back up. "Sorry dude," but not really, "but you were getting too handsy and I don't swing that way." I said before helping Michael push back the possessed students.

As Michael pushed one of them back he noticed Ed in the arms of one of the possessed students, flailing around like a ragdoll.

He Immediately ran in, grabbed Ed and threw him where he comically landed on top of the cannon.

"Sorry about this!" Michael grunted as he pushed the possessed students back.

Jentry watched in concern as Michael struggled to keep the possessed students at bay. "I need to hurry." She murmured to herself.

"Ole!" I shouted in alarm as Michael was piled on by the possessed students.

Kit's eyes widened as he saw Michael being overwhelmed.

Soon they got off Michael as he looked at us, standing up with a smirk before his eyes blackened completely. "My troops won the siege before, and we'll do it again. Charge!"

"Kit, to the cannon now!" I shouted, adrenaline coursing through me as the situation grew dire.

One of the possessed students caught my foot, tripping me. I fell hard onto the ground, my heart racing as the cold metal taste of fear filled my mouth.

Jentry, Stella, Ed, and Kit, finished setting the cannon. "That's all. We need to angle this up." Jentry said, trying to push the barrel upwards with all her might.

Just as I was about to get up I felt someone roughly pull me up before wrapping an arm around my neck in a choke hold. "Stop!" Billy shouted pointing a knife at Jentry and the others.

"You will listen to me!" He said as I struggled to breathe.

"Billy," Jentry steps forward. "Your obsession with the Alamo is a bit creepy. I don't think this reenactment is what actually happened either."

"Of course it is!" Billy said, tightening his grip on my neck. "People just keep changing history these days to suit their political agenda, that's all." He said like a know-it-all which I couldn't help but roll my eyes at, if I could move my head.

"Well, why don't we ask them?" Jentry said gesturing to the spirits possessing our classmates, her voice surprisingly calm despite the knife at my throat.

"You all died nearly two hundred years ago. Do you actually remember what happened or are you going off of what he told you?" She asked the ghosts, her voice filled with conviction.

"Yes, she got us."

"I admit it. It's foggy."

They murmured amongst themselves making Billy even more agitated. "It makes a better story!" He whined like a little bitch. "They stood up for themselves even though they were weaker!"

"People keep trying to take that away from me by making them bad people!" He kept shouting, his face growing redder by the second.

"You think trying to force people to like them makes you a good person?" Jentry questioned him, her voice steady and calm despite the danger.

"I get wanting to hide the bad parts from people and make them see only the version you want them to," she said as from her own experiences. "but... the truth always comes out,

and that's always the right thing."

Billy and the possessed students paused, the anger in their eyes wavering as Jentry's words sunk in. The tension around us thickened as we waited for their reaction. For a moment, it seemed like her words had hit a nerve, and the ghosts were considering what she'd said.

But he just tightened his grip, his face a mask of rage. "You think you're so clever, don't you?" He spat out the words, his grip around my neck tightening even further. "You're just like everyone else, trying to belittle the heroes of Texas."

This guy and his bitching were really starting to get on my nerves.

"Okay dude, you are officially one fucked up, fruit loop." I said dryly despite the pressure on my neck.

Billy's grip loosened slightly at my words. "What did you call me?" He hissed.

I smirked. "You heard me. Fucked up. Fruit loop." I taunted, trying to keep the situation from turning worse.

Billy's grip tightened again, but his focus was on me now. "You think this is a joke?" He snarled, his knife glinting in the setting sunlight.

I scoffed. "A joke? Please, if that was what this was I would've been laughing right now." I said before I yawned loudly. "But no, this is more of a snore fest." I joked trying to get him more mad.

"You little..." Billy's eyes narrowed as he raised the knife higher.

"Billy, I'll tell you this now. Just let me go before you get hurt." I warned him, trying to keep my cool.

He burst out laughing. "And what are you going to do to me?"

I smirked. "This." I said as my eyes glowed crimson red and intense heat emanated from my hands burning his arm that was around my neck.

Billy's grip loosened immediately as he screamed in pain, dropping the knife. "What the hell?!" He staggered back clutching his burnt arm.

I immediately ran to the cannon and pushed the barrel up. "Jentry, Now!"

Jentry nodded, lighting the fuse with a spark from her fingers. The flame danced along the rope before igniting the gunpowder with a deafening boom. The cannon roared to life, sending a cannonball soaring into the sky.

The sound was so powerful all the ghosts immediately exited the students they were possessing holding their ears.

Despite the ringing in my ears I walked up to Jentry who was on her back disoriented. "Jentry, you okay?"

"Miko?" she croaked out as she sat up, rubbing her ears. "Did we do it?"

I nodded looking at the ghosts all floating above us. "Yeah." I helped her up. "We got them out."

"No! No! This isn't right!" Billy screamed, throwing a tantrum like a brat. "You ruined my reenactment!"

I deadpanned at the obvious man child in front of me. "Yeah, sorry to ruin your 'fun'." I said, the sarcasm thick in my voice.

"Jentry Chau!"

Oh fuck's sake!

Just then Wheeler came out of the bus pointing at the cannonball that landed on the bus's roof. "Look what you did to the bus!"

"I knew you were going to cause problems and this time I've got witnesses." He said with a smug smile.

"Jentry didn't do that." Kit smiles at her, which again irritated me for some reason.

'and why the hell are you laughing?' i mentally asked Musashi.

'Oh, nothing.' he replied, yet I could feel him smirking.

"What do you mean?" Wheeler turned his attention to Kit, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. "She's standing right by a cannon! One of you must have seen her light it."

I rolled my eyes, to hell with it. "Like Kit said , she didn't do it." I stepped in front of Jentry before igniting my left hand with the crimson flames causing everybody but Kit, Michael, Stella, and Jentry herself, to gasp in shock.

"I did," I announced, stepping forward with my hand ablaze. "Because I thought it would be fun to fire a cannon."

Wheeler's eyes bulged. "I knew it! I knew there was something off about you." He pointed at me. "So you're also a fire demo-urk!"

Just before he could finish his sentence, I grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him closer, my eyes glowing red. "Finish that sentence and I swear, my mother will make sure you'll never get another job as a teacher or any job in general, do you understand?" I threatened him, my voice a low growl.

"Crystal..." He squeaked, nervously grinning and sweating buckets.

I pushed him back before turning to the other students with a smile. "Okay guys, get to the bus, we already overstayed our welcome here, let's go."

As everyone boarded the bus, Jentry stayed back for a bit.

After Kit gave her another charming smile making her cheeks blush, honestly why am I so annoyed by that?

"Not so fast!" Billy grabbed Jentry by the shoulders and spun her around to face him. "You think you can stop me, girl? I have field trips here every week. You'll never stop us from celebrating the truth." He sneered, his burnt hand shaking.

Just before I could Intervene a male voice spoke up. "Perhaps she cannot, but I can."

Suddenly a Portal opened up on the ground and came out what looked like a ghost of a tall gruffy looking man with long hair and beard and what looked like said diamonds on his beard, a halo with a yin yang symbol.

He was wearing a white Gi and a long red cape over his shoulders and a large sword.

"What in the world...?" Billy muttered, his eyes wide with fear as the spectral figure emerged.

"Looks like your ghost friends

have broken the rules." The ghost said with an easy going smile. "I'm here to enforce them."

He stabbed his sword to the ground as what looked like black and white water appeared before said water touched the Alamo spirits before one by one they all turned into droplets and disappeared.

"What have you done?" Billy's voice trembled, his eyes fixed on where the spirits had been standing just moments ago.

Ignoring him the ghost opened up a portal with his sword. "Who are you? Are you from Diyu?" Jentry asked in curiosity.

He just chuckled before he spoke. "Thanks for bringing this

to my attention, kid." He glanced at Jentry before looking at me, and his eyes widened a bit in recognition.

"So you're the one who saved both realms, huh? You're a lot younger than I expected." He said looking at me before he nodded in acknowledgment. "It's nice to meet you...Ghost."

With those last words he went into the portal leaving a distraught Billy, Jentry and I, Alone in the Alamo courtyard.

"Ghost?" Jentry turned to me with a raised eyebrow as the portal closed behind the mysterious figure. "What's he talking about?"

I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "It's a long story." I said casually. "But let's just say, I have some experience with the supernatural."

"Now come on, let's get on the bus, I really wanna go home." I said as I led her to the bus Ignoring Billy who was crying as he tried hopelessly to call out his "comrades".

Grow up, man.

As the bus drove back to Riverfork I sat in the back, looking out the window I felt someone sit next to me and turned to see Ed. "Dude, what are you doing here?"

"Oh, that guy Kit asked me to switch seats so he could talk to Jentry." He said with a grin looking at his phone.

"I... see." Was all I could manage to say as I felt a pang of annoyance.

After a few seconds of silence Ed spoke up again. "Sooo, your him huh? You're Ghost."

I turned to him, my eyes still on the window. "You heard that, huh?"

He scoffed, turning away from his phone. "Everyone at Diyu knows about you, the one who saved both the living realm and the spirit realm from the Gamma three years ago."

I rolled my eyes. "Thanks for the gossip, but let's keep that to ourselves for now, yeah?" I said, not in the mood to explain my other life to Ed.

Ed nodded. "Sure, no problem. But I gotta say, it's pretty cool. I mean, you're like a legend back there."

I sighed leaning back in my seat. "Thanks."

He nudged me. "What?" I asked, not taking my eyes off the scenery passing by.

"Go." Ed said once he saw Kit got up from where Jentry was sitting.

I raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"Because," Ed whispered, "you've got that look in your eye."

I frowned. "What look?"

Ed leaned closer, whispering conspiratorially. "The 'I'm about to beat the shit out of someone' look. Go talk to her, before she gets too cozy with Kit." He smirked, nudging me again.

I blushed a bit at what he was implying but still stood up. "Thanks, Ed." I mumbled before heading to the seat Kit just vacated.

"Jentry, you okay?" I asked her, trying to sound casual.

Her eyes met mine, a mix of surprise and relief. "Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks to you guys."

I nodded. "You're welcome."

The bus ride back to school was a mix of exhausted silence and nervous chuckles. The students who had been possessed were a little dazed, but otherwise unharmed. Jentry sat next to me, her eyes reflecting the fading light of the sunset outside the window. I could feel the weight of the day's events pressing down on her, and I didn't blame her.

"You know," she began, turning to me, "I never asked, how do you..." She trailed off, not quite knowing how to phrase it.

"How do I have powers similar to yours?" I asked, finishing her sentence for her. She nodded slightly, looking down at her hands. "I'll tell you when there are no prying ears around."

Jentry nodded in understanding.

Soon the bus arrived and stopped in the school parking lot. The students, still shaking off the last remnants of their possession, began to file out slowly. Kit was the last to get off, giving Jentry a lingering look that made me clench my fists.

"I'll walk you home," I offered, standing up from my seat.

Jentry looked up at me with a small smile. "Thanks, Miko."

After leaving the school we started talking about a lot of stuff. Nothing too serious, just casual banter trying to get her mind off of the weirdness that was our field trip.

"Wait, so you have been spiritually aware your whole life and the fire...?" She looked at my hands with wonder.

"Is because I can manipulate my chi into flames, and before you ask, No, I have no idea why it's crimson in color." I said with a chuckle as we continued to walk.

"Does it ever scare you?" Jentry's voice was soft, looking at her own hands as if expecting them to burst into flames.

I shrugged, trying to think of the right words. "It was...scary at first. But once I started training, it became more like...a part of me." I held up my hand, a small flame flickering to life before I snuffed it out.

"My Gugu sometimes acts like my powers are a part of some big destiny," Jentry said, her eyes distant. "But sometimes I just wish I could be normal."

"Yeah, well sometimes destiny can be a bitch and it will give you a life that is beyond normal." I said looking into her eyes trying to comfort her.

"I just don't get it. Why me?" she asked, her voice quivering slightly.

"I can't answer that, only you can." I said placing a hand on her shoulder giving it a gentle squeeze. "And while you might not be able to change your destiny, it's up to you and you alone on how you shape that destiny."

Jentry nodded, looking slightly more at ease.

Soon we made it to her house which was a nice modern two story house. "Thanks for walking me home."

"No problem," I said, smiling at her. "Oh, mind giving me your phone for a second?"

Jentry handed over her phone, and I quickly typed in my number. "Call me if you ever need anything, okay?" I handed it back with a gentle smile. She nodded and took a step closer, her eyes searching mine.

I soon felt something warm and soft on my cheek as Jentry leaned in and kissed it. "Thank you, Miko. You're the first person who's ever tried to understand." She whispered before she turned and walked into her house, leaving me standing there with a racing heart and a burning cheek.

'Smooth.' Musashi slyly commented in my mind.

'Shut up!' I mentally shouted at Musashi as I walked home, my cheeks burning from the kiss.

Once Jentry got inside, the door closed behind her, face red, she placed a hand on her chest feeling her heart beating like a drum. She looked down at her phone with Miko's number now in her contacts.

"Who was that?" An elderly female voice said slyly in front of her, startling her out of her stupor.

"Ah! Gugu, I-I'm home." Jentry stuttered, slipping the phone into her pocket. She tried to play it cool, but her great aunt's knowing smile told her she wasn't fooling anyone.

Ed, who had arrived home earlier, was giving her a teasing smile as well. "So, you and Miko, huh?" He said nudging her with his elbow.

"W-what? No,no Miko is just a friend." She stuttered, her cheeks burning even more.

The ghostly form of Flora Chau nodded, still having a teasing smile. "Uh-huh. Then what was that kiss for?"

Jentry's eyes widened and she turned to Ed who was now laughing at her. "I-It wasn't like that!"

Ed just winked at her. "Sure, sure, whatever you say, Jentry."

"I-I'm going to my room!" Jentry exclaimed, hurrying up the stairs to escape their teasing. She didn't know why she felt so flustered. It was just a kiss on the cheek, but something about the way Miko had looked at her made it feel more significant.

Once in the safety of her room, she flopped onto her bed and let out a deep sigh.

She looked at her left hand opening and closing her fist, remembering his words. 'it's up to you on how you shape that destiny.'

"Shape my destiny, huh?" Jentry whispered to herself, a small smile playing on her lips as she thought of the spiky haired boy who had stood up for her.

She knew Miko was keeping secrets, but she couldn't help but feel drawn to him. His confidence in the face of danger was something she hadn't seen in anyone else, and it was comforting to know she wasn't the only one with strange powers.

With a sigh she got up to take a shower.

1st P.O.V

As I walked home I was getting very irritated.

Why?

'Will you stop smirking!' I mentally exclaimed as I could still feel Musashi smirking at me.

'I can't help it, It's amusing how you can stand against a Gamma without fear but when it comes to a girl you're like a nervous wreck.' Musashi chuckled in my mind.

"Shut it," I grumbled under my breath as I walked into my house.

"I'm Home!"

I called out as I slammed the door behind me, dropping my backpack by the stairs.

"Honey, how was your day?" My mom's cheerful voice drifted from the kitchen, followed by the delightful aroma of her cooking.

"Crazy." I called back to her, my voice still filled with the residue of adrenaline from the field trip.

She came out of the kitchen with a wooden spoon in hand, an eyebrow raised. "Highschool crazy or Ghost crazy?"

I chuckled a bit, taking off my shoes. "Both, but more on the Ghost crazy side today."

My dad Mario came out of the living room. "Hey son, so how was the trip?"

"Ghost Crazy." I said as I plopped down on the couch and told everything that happened at the Alamo minus the part about that one spirit calling me Ghost.

My parents, while shocked, took it surprisingly well. They were used to me bringing home all sorts of supernatural problems.

"Son, how do you always find yourself in these situations?" My dad chuckled, ruffling my hair.

"What I want to know is why didn't you transform?" My mom asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Because, someone thought it was a good idea for me to leave my Eyecon so I could have a day of normalcy." I said deadpanning at Dad who chuckled nervously. "Good Idea, my ass..." I grumbled.

Mom's eyes widened before they narrowed at Dad who was sweating bullets. "Mario Uzumaki, did you tell our son to go to an unknown place without his Eyecon?"

Dad held his hand up in defense. "Hey now, I didn't know he was going to need it!"

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah sure, Dad. You had no idea that the place was haunted." I couldn't help the sarcasm in my voice.

Next thing my Dad knew he got hit on the head with a frying pan. "Ow!" He yelped, holding his head. "What was that for!"

"For being an Idiot!" My mom exclaimed, hand on her hip. "What were you thinking?!"

"Well, I didn't exactly think it through, okay?" Dad said, rubbing his head, looking slightly embarrassed. "But everything worked out, right?"

"Yeah, because I had to improvise with a cannon." I said, not bothering to hide my annoyance. "Thanks for the support."

"And he got kissed by a girl out of it!" Musashi said, appearing in his Damashii form of a hoodie/parka. It was mainly colored red with what looked to be two swords at the end of the sleeves, and what appeared to be a headband of sorts at the top which just under it were two small red eyes.

"What?!" My parents both shouted in unison, turning to look at me with wide eyes.

"It's nothing!" I said quickly, throwing Musashi a glare. "It was just... a moment of gratitude."

"Gratitude, huh?" Mom raised an eyebrow, her smirk growing wider as she looked between me and my floating spirit partner.

"Yeah, that's all it was." I said, hoping to change the subject quickly.

"He lies!" Musashi exclaimed with a dramatic flourish. "It was a kiss of love and destiny!"

"Fuck you!" I yelled at Musashi before my mom could respond, causing my dad to laugh.

"Don't you mean fuck Jentry?" He retorted with his red eyes squinting as if he was trying to hold in his laughter.

"Musashi, you're pushing it." I warned with a glare, my cheeks burning brighter than my flames.

"Wait, Jentry? As in Jentry Chau?" Mom's voice was filled with curiosity. "Flora's great niece?"

I groaned. "Yes, that's her."

Mom's eyes lit up. "Oh, she's so sweet! And now she's got a crush on my little Ghost!"

"Mom!" I groaned, my face feeling like it was on fire. "It's not like that!"

"Miko, My boy! You're turning into a man!" Dad exclaimed, slapping me on the back a little too hard making me cough.

"Mom, Dad, please stop." I groaned, face now a deep shade of red. "She's just a friend."

"Anyway, can I have my Eyecon back please." I said, trying to get the conversation off track.

My dad nodded and handed it to me.

My Eyecon was sphere shaped and was black on the back half, while the front looked like an eye, and on the top of it was an orange sticker with a G at the top and the word GHOST at the bottom, in the middle was what appeared to be a mask of sorts.

"Thanks." I mumbled, taking my Eyecon from Dad's hand.

That's when I finally noticed someone was missing.

"Hey, where's Miaka? Usually she'd me home by now." I asked my parents wondering where my older sister was.

"Oh, while you were on the trip she got word that there was paranormal activity somewhere in Kansas, there was a chance it might be rogue low-level Ganma so Miaka grabbed her Eyecon and immediately left to investigate with her team." Dad said casually.

"Low-level? That's all she said?" I asked, a bit concerned. Miaka was strong, but even she wasn't invincible.

"Don't worry, she's got her team with her," Mom assured me, setting a plate of food in front of me. "Now, eat up. You need to keep your strength up, especially after a day like today."

I nodded, picking up my chopsticks. Despite the craziness of the day, the warmth of my family's concern was grounding. I took a bite, savoring the flavors that only my mom could create.

As we ate, my mind couldn't help but wander back to Jentry.

I don't know why but she's different from the other girls I've met, she's...special.

I thought as I took a bite of the food my mom had made. It was a typical weekday dinner, but after the chaos of the field trip, it tasted like heaven.

After dinner and a shower, I went to my room to try to process everything that had happened today. I laid down on my bed, holding my Eyecon in my hand, feeling its coolness against my palm.

"Miko, you know what this means, right?" Musashi said, his form floating over my bed.

"That I'm coming out of retirement?" I asked, turning the Eyecon over in my hand.

Musashi nodded. "The spirits of the Alamo are just the tip of the iceberg. There's something bigger at play here, and it's our duty to protect this world and the other one."

I smirked at this, the quiet life was getting boring anyways. "Alright, I'll think about it." I said nonchalantly, placing the Eyecon on my bedside table.

"Miko when you were walking Jentry home I found something in the forest." Musashi said suddenly, his tone serious.

I sat up. "What is it?"

"A Portal to Diyu has been opened," Musashi stated, seriously.

I raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Di-who?"

End of Chapter 01

And That's chapter one!

I swear this has been a lot of fun to do giving Miko his own powers and abilities that differ a bit from being a Rider, I thought it would be a good Idea since I wanted him to have an edge in case I write a scene can't transform.

Oh and If you noticed Musashi being ooc in this chapter i did that on purpose, thought he could be the sly teasing yet wise partner in crime.

Anyways I'm gonna get back to the Rise of Ultraman and after that I'm gonna work on this one again and vice versa. I hope you like the new chapter.

Oh...and can someone please help me with the cover art, I'm not hiring, just a simple request

Please read and review.
