Chapter 02 The Portal to Diyu, Miko's a Kamen Rider?
The next night I was trekking in the forest while Musashi floated next to me as he explained what Diyu is.
" Diyu , is the Chinese underworld." Musashi began, his form flickering slightly in the moonlight as we ventured deeper into the woods. "It's where the souls of the dead go to be judged, and it's not a place you want to mess with."
I nodded in understanding of the situation. "If that portal really leads to Diyu, then if left unchecked the balance between worlds will fall into chaos..." I said with seriousness in my voice before I groaned in annoyance. "Again…"
Musashi groaned with me. "Indeed, it seems we have our work cut out for us…again. But still we must check this portal out."
"Right, but I just have one question." I said before I looked behind us to see my Parents following us a little too eagerly for my taste.
I sweatdropped at this. "Why are you guys following us?"
My Dad shrugged, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "What? It's been a while since we saw you in action and… there was nothing good on TV anyway."
Mom rolled her eyes, but there was a hint of pride in her voice. "Plus, we want to make sure you're safe."
I sighed, but didn't argue. With a nod, I swear to god my parents can be so nonchalant sometimes.
"So, do you know who opened it?" I asked, trying to ignore the fact that my parents were tagging along like eager tourists on a ghost hunt.
Musashi shrugged. "Could be anyone, but it's definitely not the work of the usual low-level spirits. This requires power."
I shook my head in disbelief. "I swear, the Ganma was one thing but this? What Idiot would be stupid enough to open a portal to the underworld?" I muttered.
3rd POV
Jentry suddenly sneezed while washing the dishes.
"Jentry, are you alright?" Flora asked, an eyebrow raised.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a sneeze." Jentry replied, wiping her nose with the back of her hand.
"You know they say that happens when someone is talking about you," Ed said, a knowing grin playing on his lips.
Jentry rolled her eyes. "It's probably nothing," she murmured, trying to ignore the flutter in her stomach. She couldn't shake off the feeling that Miko's words had changed something within her, and had given her a sense of purpose she hadn't felt before.
"Jentry, once you are done with the dishes we're going back to the woods to try and close up the portal to Diyu again." Flora said smiling. "And don't worry we'll find a way to close it without using your powers like I promised."
Jentry nodded, trying to keep her mind on the task at hand. She didn't want to get her hopes up too much about the portal closing without her having to use her powers again. The thought of using her powers was still a bit terrifying, even if she had managed it a couple of times before.
Soon they went to the backyard that went straight to the woods.
"So, Jentry... Who is this Miko, Ed keeps mentioning, he wouldn't happen to be the boy that brought you home two nights ago is he?" Flora asked, raising an eyebrow as they made their way into the woods.
Jentry's cheeks reddened slightly at the mention of Miko's name. "He's just a classmate, Gugu. Nothing more."
"Bullshit." Ed said with a knowing smirk. "The way you guys looked at each other, it was like watching a rom-com."
"Then again, you also have a thing for two more guys, what were their names?" Ed feigned innocence, but his mischievous smirk gave him away. "Oh right, It's Michael and Kit!"
Next thing he knew he was hit with a fireball.
"Totally worth it." He said still having a shit eating grin covered in soot with Jentry glaring at him still blushing red.
Flora watched the whole thing in amusement, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "It seems you've made quite the impression on a couple of boys in school." She said, her eyes twinkling.
Jentry rolled her eyes, trying to play it cool. "It's not like that, Gugu."
But as they approached where the portal was, Jentry noticed four people standing in front of it...well three people and… a floating red parka?
Now that last one threw her for a loop.
But she easily recognized the spikey raven haired boy standing in the middle. "Miko...?"
Miko's POV
Ten minutes earlier
It's been an hour since we started this trek and I was getting impatient. "Dude, how far is this damn portal?!" I asked Musashi.
"Almost there," Musashi said calmly.
"That's what you said an hour ago!" I exclaimed, swiping at a pesky mosquito.
Musashi chuckled. "It's just around the corner. Trust me, you'll know when we're closed."
"So its." Dad suddenly piped in, uh-oh. "Tell us more about this Jentry girl."
I groaned internally. "It's nothing, she's just a classmate."
Mom giggled. "Just a classmate who kisses you after saving her life?"
"I didn't save her life." I blushed in embarrassment and irritation. "We...just stopped some ghosts from causing trouble."
"Cough, cough, ...bullshit." Musashi faked a cough, his eyes squinted as if he was slyly grinning.
"Shut up..." I hoisted at Musashi through gritted teeth as we rounded the corner and spotted the portal. It was a swirling vortex of energy, pulsing with a bright purple light that made the trees around it look like they were shivering in fear.
"So this is the portal to Diyu ?" I asked Musashi, taking in the sight before me. It was definitely not something you saw everyday.
"Yes, this is it." Musashi confirmed, his form looking a bit more serious than usual.
"Damn…" Dad whispered under his breath, his eyes wide.
Mom took a step back, a look of awe and concern crossing her face. "Miko, this is…"
"Freaky, I know." I murmured, looking at the portal, before I shrugged casually. "But then again this isn't anything new. It's just a regular Tuesday for me."
Dad nodded in agreement, but mom looked at me with a mix of pride and worry. "Just be careful, okay?"
I nodded, smiling in confidence. "Got it." I said before I noticed something coming out of the portal. "Mom, Dad, stand back."
They quickly stepped away as a small flying creature came out of the portal.
It gave a small roar heading towards me, making me smile. "Let's rock."
As the creature got close, without flinching I punched it with a crimson flames encased fist instantly burning it to ashes. "Well that was...anticlimactic" I said with a sweatdrop.
I turned to Musashi. "Now that little problem is taken care of, how are we going to close this?" I gestured to the portal.
He raised a bladed sleeve about to answer with My parents and I leaning in to listen.
"I have no idea!" He said sheepishly, causing us to facefault.
I got up with a tick mark growing on my forehead. "You don't know?! You mean you brought us here to a portal that could potentially end the world and you don't even know how to close the goddamn thing!?" I exclaimed in disbelief and exasperation.
"Well, when you put it that way it does sound bad." Musashi said with a shrug.
I facepalmed so hard it was a miracle I didn't set myself on fire. "Seriously?" I muttered, my left eye twitching. "And now what? Were you expecting me to keep whatever the hell comes out of the portal busy until we find a way to close it somehow?"
A moment of silence and Musashi looking away was my answer.
"Are you kidding me?!" I exclaimed, staring at Musashi incredulously. "You didn't even have a plan?!"
"I was working on it!" He exclaimed in embarrassment. "I'm sorry, I didn't know what to do either!"
I pinched the bridge of my nose and sighed in exasperation. "And history says you're a wise samurai..."
Before Musashi could retort he turned his attention back to the portal. "Incoming."
I turned as more low-level demons came out of the portal. "Just great." I said sarcastically, igniting my fists. "Well at least they aren't as ugly as the demons in Devil May Cry. Musashi, keep my folks safe."
Musashi nodded, and took a protective stance in front of my parents as I started to fight.
I counted five of them, Piece of cake.
As the low-level demons charged towards me, I braced myself for the oncoming fight. My parents watched with a mix of worry and excitement, which was typical for them. They had seen this kind of thing before, but it never got old.
I did a Matrix slide to dodge the first demon that came my way, flipping in the air to land behind it and sending a fiery kick to its back.
"Show-off," Musashi quipped, watching the demon dissipate into ash.
I gave him the middle finger before I punched another one incinerating it. "Two down."
Mom called out to me, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and anxiety. "Miko, be careful!"
"Got it!" I gave her a thumbs up without taking my eyes off the remaining demons.
I pounded my fists together, the flames dancing around my knuckles. "Let's do this." I said with a grin.
The demons circled me, snarling and hissing. I could feel the heat from their breath, and the smell of sulfur was overpowering. But I wasn't scared. I had been through worse.
"Whoo...two words dudes. Breath. Mint." I quipped, punching another demon into oblivion.
Musashi rolled his eyes, "Your humor hasn't changed since middle school."
"Hey, it's a classic." I said with a smirk, before focusing back on the remaining two demons.
They lunged at me, one with claws outstretched, the other with a mouth that looked like it hadn't closed in centuries. I dodged and weaved, using my speed and agility to avoid their attacks. My parents watched from behind Musashi, their eyes glued to the battle before them.
"He's gotten better." Dad murmured, a hint of pride in his voice.
Mom nodded in agreement. "He's definitely picked up a few tricks from your training, Musashi."
"Of course he has, I've been with him through thick and thin." Musashi said, his eyes never leaving the battle, ready to jump in if needed.
"Hadouken!" I shouted, sending a fireball hurtling towards the last two demons, who screamed before they were incinerated into nothingness.
"Was shouting 'hadouken' necessary?" Musashi asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
"What? I always wanted to do that," I said, winking at Musashi who rolled his eyes.
"You and your video games." He sighed.
I just grinned at him before I heard a familiar voice. "Miko...?"
I turned to see Jentry, Ed and A ghost of an elderly woman look at me with wide eyes. "Jentry...what're you doing here?" I asked, surprised.
"What am I doing here? What are you doing here?" Jentry countered, her voice filled with astonishment and a hint of accusation.
"Well, I was just...uh...taking a walk." I said, trying to play it cool despite the obvious lie.
Flora looked at me skeptically, her arms crossed over her chest. "In the woods? At night?"
I did a double take before I pointed at Flora with wide eyes. "Wh-what the hell?! Ms. Chau you're a ghost? since when?!"
Flora rolled her eyes, "Relax young man, I was just stabbed by a Mogui a month ago, no big deal." She said nonchalantly.
"Wait, what?!" I exclaimed, looking at her in shock.
"Long story," Flora said with a wave of her hand. "But more Importantly what are you doing here young man? It's dangerous here and you brought your parents no less with a... floating hoodie?"
Jentry finally noticed Musashi and her reaction was exactly what I expected. "Is that...a ghost?" She pointed at Musashi.
"Uh, yeah..." I slowly nodded as I gestured for Musashi to come over. "Jentry, Ms. Chau, Ed. I'd like you to meet Miyamoto Musashi, my partner."
Musashi floated closer and bowed. "Pleased to make your acquaintance, I am Miyamoto Musashi."
Flora blinked in surprise. "Wait, you're not, that Miyamoto Musashi are you? The ancient Samurai from Japan who created the Niten Ichi-ryū?"
Musashi just chuckled and nodded. "The very same my lady."
Ed's eyes went wide. "Whoa, wait a minute, Miko has a ghost partner?" He whispered to Jentry, who looked equally surprised.
"It's a bit more complicated than that," I began to explain, but before I could say more, my dad cleared his throat.
"Well, son, aren't you going to introduce us?" He stepped forward with a grin.
My parents looked at Jentry with a mix of confusion and excitement. "You must be Jentry," Mom said with a warm smile. "We've heard so much about you."
Jentry blushed, glancing at me. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Uzumaki."
"Oh, please," Mom waved her hand. "Call us Mario and Ruby. Miko's told us so much about you!"
"Yeah, he couldn't stop talking about you on the way here." Dad added with a chuckle.
"I didn't..." I mumbled, my cheeks burning.
Jentry's gaze met mine, and the tension in the air grew thicker. "Miko," she began, "What's going on?"
I sighed getting my blushing cheeks under control. "Well, long story short. Musashi brought me here to stop demons from coming out of the portal to Diyu ."
"Wait, do you know about Diyu ?" Jentry asked in surprise, her eyes flickering from Musashi to me.
I nodded. "Yup, I know a lot of things about the supernatural world, It helps that I have a centuries old partner that keeps me in the loop."
I cleared my throat to continue my explanation. "So, like I said, Musashi brought me here but my parents decided to tag along because they were bored and after I fought a couple of demons you guys showed up and here we are."
"But that doesn't answer why you're here." Jentry's voice was firm, her eyes searching mine for the truth.
"Isn't it obvious it's his job because he is Ghost." Ed said slyly much to my sorrow, Jentry's confusion, and Flora's shock.
Flora looked at me, "Ghost...you mean you...are...?"
I didn't say anything but my nod was all the answer she needed.
"Miko," she breathed, her eyes wide with shock. "But how…"
"It's a long story." I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "One I'm not ready to tell just yet."
"Wait, what's he talking about Gugu?" Jentry asked her great aunt completely out of the loop.
"Sorry Jentry, but…that's not my story to tell, let's just say if it weren't for this boy we all probably wouldn't be standing here today." Flora said with a warm smile, putting a comforting hand on Jentry's shoulder.
I smiled at Flora's words, grateful for the cover she had provided. "Now do you have a way to close this thing or what?" I asked, trying to change the subject.
However just before Flora could answer two individuals walked out of the portal catching our attention.
"No...fucking...way..." I muttered in shock as me, Musashi and My Parents looked on with wide disbelieving eyes at the two familiar beings standing in front of us.
Both were wearing a sort of hoodie-like outfit. The first was wielding what appeared to be a katana growing out of his arm, while the other wielded a Seiryuto spear. Overall both of them invoked the vibe of warriors...but something was very off about them...like their very presence warped the surrounding area...
"Well, well, well. It seems we are finally out of that wretched place." A dark malicious voice echoed through the forest, as the one with the sword-arm stepped forward, and if he had a mouth, a twisted smile would be playing on his lips.
"Katana Ganma..." I whispered, my voice tight with tension as I recognized the one with the sword-arm.
The one with the spear finally noticed us. "Oh? Looky here, If it isn't the little shit that sends our souls to that hellhole. Ghost." He said, his voice echoing with a mix of anger and amusement.
"Seiryuto Ganma..." Musashi murmured, his eyes narrowing as he recognized the other being. The air around us grew colder, and the trees seemed to lean away from the two threatening figures.
"W-what are they?" Jentry asked Gugu not to take her eyes off of the two figures that came out of the portal.
Flora took a deep breath. "Those two are Ganma..." She muttered in shock.
"Gan…ma…?" However instead of Flora answering, It was Ed with a completely serious expression, much to Jentry's shock.
"The Ganma are a race of supposedly extra-dimensional creatures that want nothing more than to rule over both the dead and the living realms." Ed said with a hint of fear in his voice, something I had never heard from him before. "They're notorious for their power and brutality."
"Well not all of them are bad, I'm actually good friends with a few." I clarified, trying to ease the tension in the air.
"Enough!" Katana Ganma roared before pointing his sword arm at me. "You are the one who sent us to that hellhole, Ghost!" His blade grew longer, the darkness around it pulsing like a malevolent heartbeat.
"And for that, we are going to enjoy killing you nice and slowly along with everyone here." Seiryuto Ganma sneered, his spear crackling with dark energy.
"Well, looks like they've had a few upgrades..." I murmured under my breath, sizing up the two Ganma in front of us. They looked more powerful than ever, and the way they glared at me made it clear that they had a vendetta to settle.
Flora turned to Jentry with urgency. "Jentry, you have to use your powers!"
"W-what?!" Jentry exclaimed in shock. "But Gugu...I..."
"This isn't up for debate," Flora insisted, her eyes fierce. "These are no ordinary spirits. They're dangerous. Use your powers, Jentry, or we might not make it out of here alive."
Jentry was conflicted. Her heart raced as she stared at the monstrous beings before her. "I...I don't know if I can," she whispered, glancing at Miko, whose gaze was fixed on the two Ganma.
"Jentry-!"
"Don't force her Flora," I said, getting their attention as I kept my eyes on the two Ganmas. "If Jentry doesn't want to use her powers, then she doesn't have to."
Flora looked at me with a stern expression. "Miko, we need all the help we can get. Those two are not to be underestimated."
I scoffed at that. "And don't underestimate Me , I defeated those two before, and I can do it again." I said walking forward before I smirked. "Besides, It's been awhile since I went all out."
Musashi's eyes widened as he realized what I was about to do before he chuckled. "I see." He said before turning to Flora. "Lady Flora, It's best that we let Miko handle this alone."
Flora's eyes narrowed in confusion. "Alone?!" She exclaimed. "Those things will kill him!"
Dad was the one who spoke up next, his voice calm with a hint of pride. "Don't worry, Miko can handle this, after all this isn't the first time he has dealt with the Ganma."
Mom nodded in agreement. "We've seen what our son can do. He's stronger than he looks."
I nodded to Musashi telling him to take them to a safe distance. "Go."
Without a second thought, Musashi took Flora, Ed, Jentry, and my parents to a safer spot behind the trees, leaving me to face the two Ganma alone.
"Things won't go the same as last time boy." Katana Ganma sneered, his blade pulsing with an eerie black energy. "We've grown stronger during our time in Diyu ."
"Hmph, let's just see." I said smirking before taking my Eyecon out of my jacket pocket.
3rd POV
"What's that in his hand?" Jentry whispered, her eyes fixed on the spherical object Miko had just pulled out.
"That's his Eyecon, watch closely all of you, you're in for a real treat." Mario said with a grin, his eyes glistening with excitement.
Then in a burst of crimson flames, a strange device appeared around Miko's waist.
It was rather blocky in appearance, looking like it had a somewhat translucent sheet over it with an eye in the middle, a handle on the side of it.
"That is his Ghost Driver." Musashi answered Jentry's unspoken question. "It's what will allow him to transform using his Eyecon ."
"Transform?" Jentry raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Into what?"
Musashi just wonked at her. "You'll see."
Miko's POV
I stared down at the two Ganma as I pressed the button on the side of my Eyecon, changing the face to reveal a 'G', before I opened up the Ghost Driver, placed the Eyecon inside, and closed it.
"EYE!" The Ghost Driver glowed a bit before out came what appeared to be a Parka, not unlike the form Musashi took, However, this one was black in color, with an orange edge to it, and a pair of glowing orange eyes within the hood. As it floated in the air around Miko the Ghost Driver actually let out a jingle.
"BATCHIRIMINA! BATCHIRIMINA!"
"What the hell...?" Ed muttered with a sweatdrop as the belt was basically screaming for everyone to look at it.
"Yeah, that's normal for it." Dad said with a chuckle, watching as the black and orange Parka hovered around me.
I smirked in nostalgia at the Ghost Driver's jingle. "Just like old times." I said before I grabbed the trigger, and pulled, the Ghost Driver's 'eye' seemingly closing, before I took a breath, and said the words I haven't said in almost two years.
"Henshin."
With that I pushed the trigger back in, the eye opening again and this time showing the same image that was on the top of the Eyecon.
"KAIGAN: ORE!" the belt declared as the Parka Ghost flew closer while sparks of light gathered over me, forming together into a black armor that has silver pieces around his wrist and ankles, as well as silver knee guards, while my body was covered in orange lines that seemed to be shaped like bones, with an eye in the middle of the chest, while the helmet that covered my head was black in the back and silver on the front.
"LET'S GO! KAKUGO! GHO-GHO-GHO-GHOST! GO! GO! GO! GO!" The parka descended on me, phasing through my arms so it slipped on seamlessly, and when the hood landed, the silver front of my helmet changed into orange, with two black ovals acting like eyes, with a wisp like horn on the helmet's forehead. The orange lines on his armor and parka glowing along with the faceplate of the helmet, I reached up and pulled the hood down.
3rd POV
Jentry's eyes widened in amazement as she watched me transform. The parka that once hovered around me was now a part of his armor, the orange and black colors a stark contrast against the night's backdrop.
"Is that...?" Flora whispered, her voice trailing off.
Musashi nodded in confirmation. "Yes, lady Flora, it is. The one who saved both the living realm and the spirit realm from complete annihilation: Kamen Rider Ghost."
"Awesome..." Ed whispered starry eyed.
Miko's POV
"Now, let's burn it up!" I exclaimed as I held out my hand, and a sword flashed into existence, gripping it as it gained form, taking the shape of a black sword with a translucent edge with an orange grip, an eye on the guard.
"Grrr... This isn't going to end like last time Ghost!" Katana Ganma snarled as he lunged towards me.
I easily blocked his blade with my Gan Gun Saber, the clang echoing through the night. "Is that all you got?" I taunted, my eyes never leaving his.
"Not even, Human scum!" Seiryuto Ganma growled, charging his spear with dark energy.
I pushed back Katana Ganma with a kick to the stomach before I tilted my head to the side as the spear's blade passed harmlessly as I slashed Seiryuto Ganma in the chest sparks flying as it did.
I charged forward, the ground trembling with each step, my eyes never leaving the two Ganma before me. "I've missed this." I murmured, a hint of a smirk playing on my lips.
I roundhouse kicked Seiyruto Ganma in the face, sending him flying backward before I spun around to face Katana Ganma.
I clashed blades with Katana Ganma, our swords sparking with each collision. His speed and strength had indeed increased, but so had mine.
What? I didn't enjoy two years of retirement slacking off ya' know, I kept up my training too.
I headbutted Katana Ganma, breaking our blade lock, before I swung my sword in a wide arc, sending him flying.
I detached one half of the Gan Gun Saber's twin-sided blade and then connected it to the bottom of the hilt turning it to its Naginata Mode.
I parried Seiryuto Ganma's spear much to his shock, "What!?"
"What? Did you think I'm still the same 'weak human brat' two years ago?" I smirked before I swung my Naginata at him.
Seiryuto Ganma barely managed to dodge, the wind from the swing making him stumble. "Impossible, how...?"
"Things change, Seiryuto," I said, twirling the Naginata in my hand with practiced ease. "And I've had some... personal growth."
The two Ganma glanced at each other, their eyes narrowed in determination. They knew they were in for a fight.
3rd POV
"Whoa..." Was all Jentry said as the battle continued before her.
"Yup...that's our boy." Mario said with a proud smirk, nudging Ruby who nodded in agreement.
Jentry watched, her eyes wide with amazement, as Miko fought with an ease and skill that surpassed any normal human. The way he moved, the power he exuded, it was clear that he was not just any high school student.
"Incredible... he's going against those Ganma like nothing." Flora whispered to herself, her eyes never leaving Miko's form.
"Would you all believe me if I told you he's still holding back?" Musashi said casually much to the shock of the two Chau and Ed.
"Holding back?!" Ed exclaimed. "Against those two monsters?!"
Musashi shrugged as he watched Miko with a knowing smile. "Like Miko said, it's a regular Tuesday for us."
"Ooh" Mario winced as Miko gave a blazing fist to Katana Ganma's face. "That has got to hurt."
"He can use his spiritual energy in the form of flames?" Flora questioned in surprise, her eyes glued to the fiery punch that smells of Katana Ganma flying.
Musashi turned his attention to Jentry. "You didn't tell her about that?"
Jentry blushed in embarrassment and she rubbed her head sheepishly. "It... slipped my mind..."
He just chuckled as he went back to watch the battle.
Miko's POV
The two Ganma skidded back falling into one knee as they panted, they were covered in bruises and burn marks and their individual parkas had tears in some parts.
"H-how did you get this...this...strong?" Katana Ganma gasped out, his breath ragged and his arm trembling from the impact of my blows.
"Damn it..." Seiryuto Ganma grunted, his spear clattering to the ground as he stumbled back. "To be humiliated by a Human...Again..." He growled.
I blinked under my helmet as I watched the two Ganma struggle to stand.
"He's much stronger than before..." Seiryuto Ganma murmured, his eyes glaring at me with a mix of anger and fear.
Katana Ganma nodded in agreement, his voice strained. "We need to retreat, Seiryuto. We can't take him on like this."
"Are you mad?!" Seiryuto Ganma exclaimed to his companion, his eyes wild with fury. "This is our chance to claim vengeance!"
"Don't be foolish." Katana Ganma spat back, his voice a mix of pain and frustration. "We underestimated him. We need to regroup and come back with a better plan."
As I watched the two yahoos continue to argue I couldn't help but roll my eyes, typical, they always argued even back then.
"Hey, are you two done getting your shit together over there?" I said breaking them of their little bicker fest. "Because I'm getting kinda bored..."
They immediately turned to me with pissed off expressions, tick marks on their heads. "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO US YOU HAPLESS LITTLE SHIT?!" They roared in unison.
I slowly blinked under my helmet unfazed by their furious expressions. "I said I'm bored. You're boring me."
3rd POV
Jentry and Flora had their jaws dropped while Ruby pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation.
Musashi and Mario, however, were laughing so hard that they were leaning on each other to not fall over.
As for Ed he was rolling on the ground rolling in laughter. "Oh my god! Hahaha! Burn! Hahaha!"
3rd POV
"That's It!" Seiyruto Ganma shouted, his rage reaching new heights, "I'm going to kill you, here and now!"
"No! Wait!" Katana Ganma called out to his partner, but Seiyruto Ganma was too consumed by his fury. He charged at me, his spear glowing with a dark aura.
"Time to end this." The Naginata disappeared from my hand as the Seiryuto Ganma got closer, I reached for the Driver's handle and pulled before pushing it back.
"DAI KAIGAN! ORE!" the Driver called out as a mystic looking seal that had a noticeable eyeball design appeared behind me. "OMEGA DRIVE!"
I charged forward as my right leg started to glow orange before my body engulfed in orange flames and jumped.
"Haagh!"
Seiryuto Ganma skidded to a halt, his eyes widened as I did a flying kick hitting him in the chest going through him as I landed on one knee behind him.
"D-damn you...Ghost..." Seiryuto Ganma uttered in disbelief as before he roared to the heavens. "Lord Phantom... Forgive Me!" Was his dying cry before he exploded, his Eyecon landed harmlessly on the ground before it shattered and faded.
With Seiryuto Ganma dead, I turned my attention to Katana Ganma as I stood up. "You're next."
Katana Ganma looked at me with a mix of fear and anger in his eyes, but instead of charging me, he did something unexpected. He took a step back and raised his blade in the air.
I covered my face as he released an energy blast aimed at the ground, creating a large explosion. When the dust cleared, Katana Ganma had vanished without a trace.
I tried to expand my senses but unfortunately, I couldn't feel his presence anymore. "Gone..." I muttered under my breath.
Opening the driver to take out the Eyecon, and closing it back up "OYASUMI~" he said in response, as my armor faded away, the Driver disappearing into small flames.
I turned my attention to Jentry and everyone else with a grin. "Did you enjoy the show?"
Jentry walked up to me shaking her head in disbelief. " You're a Kamen Rider?! Wait, Kamen Riders are real?! How?! Since when?!"
I raised an eyebrow at her not expecting this reaction. "Didn't take you for a Tokusatsu fan."
Jentry blinked, "What? No... I just didn't expect..." She stammered before composing herself. "A friend of mine back in Seoul is a fan of the franchise, so I know a bit here and there." She explained with a sheepish smile.
"Ah." I nodded in understanding and slight respect. "They're a person of culture then."
My Dad walked up to me with a proud look on his face. "Good work, son." He said, clapping me on the shoulder.
"You did well Miko." Musashi said, floating up to me.
"But what about the other Ganma?" Flora said with a hint of worry in her voice.
I sighed at this. "Nothing we can do, he's probably long gone at this point, but he'll turn up eventually they always do." I shrugged. "But for now, we should get going."
Musashi signed in agreement. "Agreed, It's getting late, we'll just have to figure out how to close the portal another time."
Mom and Dad shared a knowing look before turning to me with a nod. "We'll leave it to you, Miko," Mom said, her voice filled with belief in my capabilities.
Jentry and Ed followed us with Flora floating by my side as we made our way out of the forest. The night air was still, the only sound being our footsteps on the dirt road.
Flora looked at me with narrowed eyes. "Kid, how exactly did you get an Eyecon exactly?" She asked with a tone of wariness and concern, making me pause in my tracks.
Jentry looked at her in confusion. "Gugu, why does that matter?"
Flora looked at her great niece, her expression of concern. "Because Jentry, the only way he can have an Eyecon is if-"
"I died." I said matter of factly, cutting off Flora's explanation. "Two years ago."
Jentry stopped in her tracks, her eyes wide. "What?!"
Musashi looked at me with a look of surprise before he sighed. "It's a long story, but don't worry Miko is alive and well."
Flora sized me up for a minute before she smiled. "Well I'm sure you'll tell us your story when you're ready." She said in understanding, catching me by surprise.
"Huh. And here I thought you were going to Interrogate me or something." I said, raising an eyebrow at Flora.
She shrugged. "Everyone has their secrets, Miko. But I can tell you're a good kid." She then smiled.
As we continued our trek I couldn't help but glance at Jentry who was walking in front of me, unfortunately my eyes couldn't stop trailing down to her ass.
Her nice firm ass...
I shook my head to clear those thoughts. 'No! Bad Miko, Bad! Get those thoughts out of your head!' I internally scolded myself.
I subtly looked around to see If anyone caught me staring, luckily no one was.
All except one.
I noticed Musashi looking at me, his eyes squinted indicating he was smirking.
The jackass...
I ignored Musashi's knowing look and walked faster next to Jentry, and might as well make a move while I'm at It. "So…"
"So…" She echoed my words, glancing over her shoulder with curiosity. "What's on your mind, Miko?"
"W-well, tomorrow's Saturday a-and I was wondering if..." I stuttered, trying to form the words in my mind.
"Yeah...?" Jentry prompted me, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.
"If..." I took a deep breath to calm my racing heart. "If you d-don't have any plans tomorrow, I was thinking maybe we could hang out. Just the two of us."
"W-what, l-like a date?" Jentry stuttered, her cheeks flushing pink in the moonlight. She looked at me, her eyes wide with surprise and a hint of excitement.
"N-not really a date, m-more like two friends hanging out." I corrected quickly, trying to play it cool as I felt the heat rising in my cheeks.
'Yeah, sure, keep telling yourself that.' Musashi said through our mental link even though he was floating a few ways behind us, his voice filled with amusement.
'S-shut up!' I mentally shouted back at Musashi, his silent chuckles echoing in my mind.
Jentry looked at me for a moment before she turned back to the path ahead, her cheeks still flushed. "That sounds...nice." She said, trying to keep her voice steady. "Where do you want to go?"
I shrugged since I haven't explored Riverfork all that much since my parents and I moved here. "Anywhere you want I guess. I'm open to suggestions." I said casually.
Jentry thought for a moment before her eyes lit up. "How about the mall?" She suggested. "It's got a cinema, arcade, and a food court. We could spend the whole day there."
Wait a second I didn't know about that, "There's a mall? I didn't know that." I said with genuine surprise.
"It was built and opened half a year ago, son." Dad said in amusement from behind us.
"Oh, okay, thanks dad." I said with a nod before me and Jentry froze as we remembered we weren't alone.
We slowly turned to my parents and Flora, smirking at us in amusement. "So, a date at the mall is it then?" Dad teased, his arms crossed over his chest.
"It's not a date!" Jentry and I exclaimed in unison, our faces reddening even further under the scrutiny of our amused companions.
"It's just two friends hanging out," I reiterated, trying to convince both them and myself.
"Y-yeah," Jentry stuttered, her eyes darting to the ground. "Just two friends."
Me and Jentry sped up our pace as our parents and great aunt respectively, laughed at us.
Soon we finally got out of the forest and to the backyard of a house, "uhh..."
"It's okay, this is our backyard." Jentry said with a small laugh, as we reached the edge of the forest. She turned to me with a smile, her eyes sparkling in the moonlight. "Want to come inside?"
"Come, come, I'll make us some dumplings." Flora said, leading the way to her house, the warm light from the kitchen window spilling onto the porch.
"Ohh dumplings!" Ed's voice perked up as we followed Jentry and Flora into the house.
"Not for you Jiangshi." Flora playfully scolded Ed as we all stepped into the cozy warmth of the house, the scent of cooking soon filled the air.
I took a bite of my dumpling as I looked at Jentry's childhood pictures framed on the wall in the living room. "Hm, Cute."
Jentry blushed before she playfully punched my arm laughing lightly as she did so.
"Hey, Miko, what about that other Ganma, what are we gonna do about him?" Jentry asked as we sat in the stairway, munching on dumplings.
I shrugged. "For now? Nothing. We don't exactly have anything to find him. But if he turns up we'll make our move."
Jentry just nodded as she took a bite out of her dumpling.
I reached up, surprising her as I wiped a piece of meat at the edge of her mouth wiping it with my thumb. "Got something there..."
Jentry froze and then blushed as she took my thumb and sucked the meat off.
Did I mention it looked hot?
Looking into her black eyes I slowly slipped my thumb out of her mouth and traced her lower lips with it.
Those lips, those perfect, soft, pink lips
I tucked a lock of hair behind her ear before touching her cheek as we slowly leaned closer to each other. The air between us crackled with anticipation, the warmth of her skin under my touch sending a shiver down my spine. Our eyes searched each other's, looking for any sign of hesitation, but all we found was a mirrored desire.
Then~ the moment was ruined...
"Here you two, let me show you some of Jentry's baby pictures." Flora said to my parents from the living room, snapping Jentry and I out of our moment.
We scrambled away from each other, our faces red and steaming.
Soon Jentry realized what Flora said and gained a look of embarrassed horror. "Gugu, No!"
Still red faced I watched as she immediately ran into the living room to stop Flora from showing embarrassing photos.
"Damnit, so close..." I whispered, snapping my fingers in dismay.
"Oh wait." Mom said from the living room. "I just remembered, I have a small album of Miko's baby pictures in my bag." She said excitedly.
Now It was my turn to be embarrassingly horrified, I immediately scrambled to my feet and ran into the living room. "Mom, No!"
3rd POV
As the Chau and Uzumaki families continued to bond and get to know one another, somewhere far away deep in the forest.
"Ughh..." A tall figure staggered and leaned against a tree.
The moonlight revealed it to be Katana Ganma, his armor and parka damaged and burned.
"Damn you, Ghost…" He hoisted under his breath, his eyes burning with anger and defeat. "This isn't over..."
"Perhaps I can lend you a hand, Ganma." A voice filled with malice said from the shadows.
Katana Ganma whipped around, his eyes narrowing as a large figure stepped into the moonlight.
It's body appears to be made of black ooze beneath It's robe, with the face covered by a skull mask under it's long brown hair.
"Who are you?!" Katana Ganma demanded pointing his arm blade at the newcomer, his voice a mix of anger and fear.
"You can call me...Mister Cheng."
