Different Perspectives Chapter 15
Author's Note: I do not own The Hunger Games
Lyla Jackson, 15. District 11
It had been fifteen days since my brother Kronos entered the Arena, and he is still alive. Out of the strongest Tributes left in the Arena, the only one alive is Sirius from District 2. Bronze, his District Partner Apatite and Augusta of District 2 were killed on the first day. After that point, the pair from District 12, Birdie and Brock, decided to ally with my brother and Annona as well as the pair from District 10, Chelsea and Cheddar. By the fifth day they had allied with the other two alliances, one formed of Tributes who lost their Districts Partners and the other being made up of Tributes from Districts 4, 6 and 7. The Tributes had the same goal: to defeat Sirius.
Two days later, and Kronos and the other fifteen Tributes are still hiding amongst the trees in the orchard Arena. I expect the Capitol would be getting agitated, I thought. The Games had been boring, something I didn't expect. I wonder if the Head Gamemaker is getting angry at the lack of action.
"Lyla Jackson, you are needed at the office" I heard the teacher say over the PA. Dreading the possibility that I was in trouble, I slowly went into the headmaster's office. Sure enough, he turned to me and said "Lyla, congratulations. Your brother is coming home." He then explained that because of the Capitol being bored of the lack of action, Gamemaker Coriolanus Snow decided to send a fireball. After the fire ended, the only two Tributes left was Kronos and Sirius of District 2, the latter on the brink of death; Kronos put the District 2 boy out of his misery. "So basically, District 11 have their second Victor" The headmaster finished.
The 16th Hunger Games
My odds are against me, I thought as I stared at the Alpine Arena. I was standing beside two Tributes: Dartmoor March from District 10 and Owen Lightoller from District 6. As the gong rang, I ran to the Cornucopia, having spotted a large backpack. The snow was getting stained red, as I saw the District 2 girl, Sagitta, throw knives at a trio of small Tributes. As I picked up the bag, I felt someone shove me onto the ground. Standing above me, knife in hand, was the boy from District 1, Brucite Naples. Seconds later, pain shot through me as Brucite stabbed me in the gut. As I struggled, Brucite continued to stab. My vision was going black, and as the boy stabbed me in the heart, I slipped away.
This had been sitting on my laptop for a week, and as I reached the point where Different Perspectives and 75 Years are concurrent on AO3, I decided to post the remaining chapters up. I will be taking a hiatus once cross-posting is complete, but it doesn't mean I stop writing 75 Years and Different Perspectives, as I will be working on future chapters during my hiatus.
