King Kong 2005 Part 2
Next we meet Bart Oobleck here.

Elsewhere in a screening room, flickering colored images of tigers roaring, Mercury Black, in a pith helmet, stalking through undergrowth ... He raises his DC-15A Blaster Rifle and fires! But the gun is jammed. Mercury turning to camera, speaking soundlessly. Close on, a sleepy looking lion. A piece of meat is lowered into frame ... Bart Oobleck appears briefly holding the meat. He is attempting to stir the yawning animal into life. Camera tilts up briefly revealing the bars of a cage. Another gut name Preston appears above a clapper board ... "TAKE 5". Next we close on Oobleck sitting in the smoky screening room. He is nervous ... his eyes flick from one investor to the other ...trying to read the room.
"Looks like I make an appearance now", Oobleck said.
"Also I'm there as well", Mercury said after seeing himself on that footage.
"How much more is there?" A man name Zelman ask.
"Another five reels." The assistant said to him.
"Lights up." Zelman ordered and lights floods the room as the washed out image on screen is extinguished. Oobleck notices a sleazy looking investor wake up with a start.
"This is it? This is what we get for our forty grand, Oobleck? Another one of your Safari pictures?" One thuggish investor not liking what Oobleck filmed to begin with.
"You promised us romantic scenes with Mercury Black and Emerald Sustrai." The sleazy investor said because what they were hoping.
"So Oobleck is a movie director", Peter commented.
"Yeah, but he has problems coming Zelman and his investors who really a have a bad taste what he films."
"Good point Hakaze", Oobleck said to her.
"Romance between me and Mercury is very unlikely", Emerald speaks her point about being romantically involved with Mercury.
"That is so much like you", Mercury pointed out.
"Don't you start!"
"Come on, fellas, you know the deal, we agreed to push Emerald's start date so she could get her teeth fixed." Oobleck makes an excuse which none of them will take anyway.
"It's not the principle of the thing, it's the money." The thuggish one said much to the annoyance to most of the audiences.
"To them it's always about money like any greedy person", Yang commented about that.
"Oh yeah", Weiss said because her own father is one of those people and he has turn SDC into something very bad.
"Bart, you've been in production for over two months", Zelman tells Oobleck that he's been there for 2 months.
"Trust me, Mercury and Emerald are gonna steam up the screen, once we get them on the ship." Oobleck said that he will get Mercury and Emerald on screen once he gets that ship.
"What ship?" Zelman ask because he doesn't know what Bart is going on about.
"The one we've hired to get to the location." Oobleck answered as he hurriedly pulls himself up as Zelman turns on him.
"What location? Bart, you're supposed to be shooting on the back-lot." Zelman still wonders about where will be the location anyway.
"Yes, I understand that, but fellas, we're not making that film anymore and I'll tell you why." Oobleck gets out of his seat and moves to the front of the room.
"The story has changed, the script has been rewritten." Oobleck turns to face the room, whipping a tattered map out of his pocket.
"Life intervened! I've come into possession of a map." Oobleck said in a growing excitement.
"The soul surviving record of an unchartered island, a place that was thought to exist only in myth ... until now!" Oobleck keeps talking until Zelman interrupts.
"By chance, Bart is talking about the island where King Kong will be", Willow answered what Bart is going on about now.
"Could be", Ozpin said to her.
"Because it is", Hakaze answered
"Whoa! Bart, slow down!"
"Is he askin' for more money?" The Sleazy investor thinks.
"He's asking us to fund a wild goose, chase." The thuggish investor thinks.
"I'm talking about a primitive world ... never before seen by man! The ruins of an entire civilization, the most spectacular thing you've ever seen! That's where I'll shoot my picture!" Oobleck said and dramatic pause.
"Will there be boobies?" The sleazy investor ask which embarrassed of the female audiences and some of the males, Oobleck is momentarily speechless.
"Excuse me, boobies?" Oobleck ask what are they going on about.
"Jigglies, jablongers, bazoomers! ... In my experience people only go to these films to observe the ... undraped form of the native girls." The sleazy said which annoys everyone in the audiences.
"What a sleazy pervert", Cinder commented with disgust.
"Not interested on what Bart is saying", Peter said with disgust too.
"What are you an idiot? You think they asked De Mille to waste his time on nudie shots? No, they respected the film maker, they showed some class! Not that you'd know what that means you cheap low-life!" Oobleck tells and Zelman shifts uncomfortably in his seat as thuggish shoots him an angry look.
"Yeah that's right, movies is never always about all that perverted stuff", James commented.
"These investors are not good people at all", Clover commented about the 3 investor.
"You got that right there not", Marrow said next.
"Would you step outside for a moment, Bart?" Oobleck looks at them ... the investor avoid eye contact.
At the screening room lobby, as Oobleck steps into the lobby, Preston, his long suffering assistant waits on the a sofa. Oobleck points suddenly to the glass of water on the table next to Preston.
"Gimme that quick!" Oobleck said and Preston hands him the water.
"You won't like it, it's non-alcoholic!" Preston warns him and Oobleck empties the glass into a pot plant.
"Well you like to take you anger like that", Peter said.
"Maybe I do if not drinking anything that's going to get me drunk", Bart said to him.
"Preston, you have a lot to learn about the motion picture business." Oobleck ask as he quietly places the glass against the screening room door and presses his ear against it.
"Ears dropping are we?" Raven ask and yeah what's going on.
"Well he wants to know what are they planning", Qrow said to Raven.
In the screen room Zelman looks to the investors.
"Don't write him off fellas. He's hot-headed sure, but Bart Oobleck's made some interesting pictures, he's had a lot of ... near success." Zelman said by the thuggish investor interrupts.
"He's a preening self promoter ..." He said but outside in the lobby Oobleck is listening.
"An ambitious no-talent! The guy has "loser" written all over him." The thuggish one rants about it.
"Look, I understand your disappointment." Zelman said but the thuggish one continues to rant.
"He's washed up. It's all over town!"
"He can't direct. He doesn't have the smarts." The Sleazy one said next much to the disgust of the audiences.
"This jumped up little turd's gonna bankrupt us." The thug rants about that part which is not true at all.
"The animal footage has value?" Zelman ask about the animal footage that Bart originally filmed.
"Sure ... Universal are desperate for stock footage." The sleazy one said.
"Then sell it! Scrap the picture! We gotta retrieve something from this debacle." The thuggish said and Zelman nods ... gestures to the young assistant.
"Something tells me that these investors are too much of an idiot to see the way we are all suppose to see it", Ozpin said.
"Must be their greed for more money", Salem commented.
"Get him back in." Zelman said and the young assistant opens the door, steps into the lobby which is empty and Oobleck nowhere to be found.
"Mr. Oobleck?" Yeah he is nowhere to be found.
"Oobleck overheard all of that, so that means they will try to convinced him to shut down", Hakaze said what are they planning.
"Looks Oobleck will try to prevent that from ever happening", Glynda said on why Oobleck wasn't there at all.
"Oh by defying his idiot investors", Hakaze answered.
In the Vale streets, Oobleck and Preston hurrying down the crowded sidewalk struggling under the weight of 8 film cans! Oobleck is glancing back over his shoulder.
"I want the cast and crew on the ship within the hour." Oobleck said to Preston.
"No Bart, you can't do this!" Preston objects.
"Tell 'em the studio's pressured us into an early departure." Oobleck wants some lies in it.
"It's not ethical!" Preston said.
What are they gonna do, sue me? They can get in line! I'm not going to let them kill my film." Oobleck will do everything he can to prevent his film from being killed.
Preston follows Oobleck, who steps off the curb ... and flags a Taxi cab down. He cuts across the busy road, Preston hurrying behind.
"You realize none of the camera equipment is on board. We have no permits ... no visas ..." Preston tells him about that.
"That's why I have you, Preston." Oobleck cuts in because he has Preston to aid him.
"We have no insurance, no foreign currency, in fact, we have no currency of any kind", Preston keeps trying to get Oobleck to listen to reason.
Next Oobleck looks back across the street and notices an angry investor heading towards him.
"Oh here they come!" Yang said knowing this can spell trouble after all.
"Better high-tail out of there Bart", Ozpin said to him.
"Not to worry, they be able catch up with him", Hakaze said to them.
"Get in there!" Oobleck said and Preston suddenly finds himself bundled into the back of a taxi.
"Who's gonna pay for the ship?" Preston ask not knowing what's going on at the moment.
Quick moment, the sleazy investor grabs at the partially open back window of the taxi.
"Get out of there!" The sleazy one demanded but Oobleck hurriedly winds the window shut ... the sleazy one yelps with pain, as he yanks his jammed fingers away from the taxi while the audiences laugh at this scene!
"Oh that was a good one", Tyrian laughing uncontrollably.
"Well that's payback for being idiots", Hazel said laughing too.
"And the investors are just rude idiots anyway", Watts said.
"Step on it!" Oobleck said as they drive away.
"You're finished, Oobleck!" The sleazy one furiously shouted as Preston sprawled on the seat, amid a pile of film cans, as the taxi speeds away!
"That's a lot of film cans", Weiss said after seeing that many.
"Well they will be getting a ship that will be heading to the island where Kong will be", Blake commented.
"But first they need someone perfect for the shot", Hakaze is actually talking about Willow.
"You talking about Willow?" Nicholas asked.
"Will see her again in the next scene", Hakaze said to him.
"Don't worry Preston, I've had a lot of practice at this. I'm real good at crapping the crappers." Oobleck said to Preston as their Taxi cruises along the crowed streets of Vale
"And two dozen of Mr. Walker's finest", Oobleck said.
"Red label, 80% proof, packed in a crate marked "lemonade". Preston said to him as they sit on the back seat. Preston is feverishly scribbling on his notepad.
"You got it ... and tell Emerald she doesn't have six hours to put on her face. If she wants to be in this picture, she's gotta be on that boat!" Oobleck said believing that Emerald will still be on the shot.
"She doesn't want to be in this picture." Preston revealed that Emerald declined and Oobleck looks at him blankly.
"Emerald pulled out." Preston said just to get Oobleck cleared.
"She pulled out?!" Oobleck said freaking out.
"That's right, I want no part of this anyway", Emerald commented and especially want not part of being hooked up with Mercury.
"Yesterday. I told you." Preston said and it would have seemed that Oobleck forgot about it while he has a suspicious thought.
"It seems you forgot about it Oobleck", Peter said.
"Maybe it's because I was too busy with my plans for the film and forgot about it", Oobleck said.
"You said we were shooting in Mistral, right? That's what you told her?" Oobleck ask if Preston told Emerald where they are shooting.
"But we're not shooting in Mistral." Preston answered.
"Dang, Preston! All you had to do is look her in the eye and lie." Oobleck in a exasperation said and turns away, his brain whirring ... thinking hard ...
"I gotta get to a phone ... talk to Harlow's people."
"She's unavailable." Preston said as the taxi wends it's way through busy Vale Streets.
"So which girl will they pick now that Emerald is out?" Winter wonders but also believes Willow will take the job.
"Like I said before, will see on the next scene", Hakaze said to Winter, but everyone believes Willow will be chosen.
While they keep talking about who can get to replace Emerald, the taxi screeches to a sudden halt in mid-traffic, Oobleck jumps out, leaving Preston in protest ...
"We gotta delay the shoot, shut production down ... We can't sail tonight!" Preston keeps protesting to Oobleck to shut down production.
"Not an option." Oobleck is not going to do that at all.
"Bart!"
"I said I'd find a girl." Oobleck said he will look for a replacement then turns and looks at Preston briefly.
"For Oumsake, Preston, think like a winner. Call Jaune ... I need that dang screenplay!" Oobleck told Preston to call Jaune and Oobleck leans in the window, Preston looks on perplexed.
"Defeat is always momentary." Oobleck then bangs the taxi roof with his hand, and then strides off confidently along the street.
"Looks like will get to see Jaune soon", Pyrrha commented.
"But also Willow as well", Hakaze said knowing where Oobleck will be going.
