Chapter 1: Titania, the Phenom, and the Phantom

Yo, kinda been gone for a while. I kinda came to a position where I very mich overwhelmed myself while also coming into writer's block. I started too many stories and Ideas that all went nowhere, and read practucally the same while masquareding as independent fics.

So after taking some time to rethink, i also realized I wasn't really writting high quality stuff, I was settling for mediocracy and that was not something I wanted to do.

So here we go, im officially launching this story, rebranding from A Devil's Fighter to "Quintessential Guide to Wrestling for Devil's" while also reimagining and rebooting the core concept.

And itll be the only story ill be working on until i finish it, and the same goes for any other story i post, while ill keep to a weekly schedule of monday/Friday uploads.

When Naruto woke up, he was expecting to find himself at the valley of the end. His fight with Sasuke had taken place there, and so he assumed, perhaps naturally, perhaps presumptuously that if he was going to wake up again it would be at or near by the valley of the end.

If he was going to , because while he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed. He knew a chidori to the heart should have meant certain death, he'd seen it happen to the likes of Haku.

Now the twelve and a half year old genin found himself in a strange place known as Japan. His first time walking into town he was met with odd looks, and of course, about half the places he tried barred him from entry.

Citing him as a foreigner. Which stung quite a bit.

Regardless though he was managing to scrape by doing odd jobs and hunting small game and fish with his Kunai whenever he could. It wasn't a bad way, but it sucked to end up stranded in a whole new world with no money, no one he knew, and no home stung a bit.

And what's worse? something told him he wasn't going to be going home.

But- if there is one thing to say about Naruto. Even if he wasn't going to be going home, even if he wasn't going to be able to keep his promise to Sakura or become Hokage. He had made a promise, he'd never let himself cry again. It went against his warrior ethos, his way of the ninja.

And he never broke a promise he could keep, and he was determined to keep going. Plus, at least these people of Japan had a real reason to be weary of him, as opposed to the people of Konoha who fundamentally misunderstood his situation.

At least here they were weary of him because he was a foreigner. He just kind of arrived out of nowhere, which hey. It sucked!

But better than being shunned for being a demon, believe it!

Currently, Naruto crouched on a tree branch, overlooking a pretty wide and deep stream, but not enough to be called a river. The water was clear, so he could see the fish swimming from his vantage point, and as he held his kunai, which the loop at the end had a steel wire attached to make the set up work.

It was tried and tested, and if it wasn't broken, Naruto wasn't going to try to fix it.

"Hey! You see where the fish are from up there, blondie?" A voice caught his attention, and Naruto turned to look at the source.

A girl wearing plate armor, a blue skirt, a white long sleeve shirt, and a European style sword to her hip had called out to him, she had red hair, brown eyes, and a cute but stern face.

"Yeah, they're right…" Naruto said as he prepared to toss the kunai at the fish he was tracking, and then threw it making sure not to miss his timing in risk of losing it, "there,"

The kunai wrapped in steel wire made a rather insignificant splash, but as Naruto pulled the wire he knew instantly by the weight that he caught his prey. And as he pulled it up, he saw the fish had been impaled dead on, directly on the top of its cranial cavity as the body twitched and flopped around.

"Impressive," the red haired girl from below reply, then stated bluntly, "You're not from around here,"

"Yeah, how did you know?" Naruto acknowledged as he skewered the fish into a wooden skewer he had peeled earlier for this. He had caught his first fish of the day.

"I'm also not a local, and I can feel something, like magic from you," the girl from below replied, before she asked, "Are you from Earthland?"

Naruto paused momentarily, frowning, he shook his head, "Doesn't ring a bell, how about the Elemental Nations? The land of fire? Konoha?"

The girl also responded negatively, but even from his vantage point about fifteen feet from the ground he could see her disappointment and slumped shoulders.

Naruto looked back at the stream, there were plenty of fish still swimming around. And it's not like he had anywhere to be, so he offered, "Would you like some fish?"

"Yes! I mean, if you would, please and thank you. I am Erza Scarlet, nice to meet you," Erza replied, and introduced herself.

"It fits, pretty name!" Naruto replied, smiling sincerely for the first time in a month. Maybe, just maybe, he was not as alone as he thought it was, "My name is Naruto Uzumaki, believe it!"

6 years later

Kushina Uzumaki has spent the past 18-19 years of her life inside the House of Gremory, after that odd phenomena left her stranded in the underworld and saw her reincarnated as a Devil. At first, it was difficult, her husband was dead, her son was alone, and she would not be able to go back to Konoha to retrieve her child.

Because she was in a completely different world now. Thankfully, her King, Venelana Gremory understood where she came from, and spent no insignificant amount of resources trying to help her out. Forever cementing her loyalty to her king and best friend.

And of course, her current work as club advisor for the Occult Research Club for her adoptive niece Rias Gremory.

Kushina had complex feelings about that girl. She loved her to death, she truly did. When she finally came to terms with the fact she was never going to be able to see her son, Naruto, ever again. Kushina poured her love and energy into training that little girl.

She breast-fed Rias as a baby and helped change that girl's diapers. But the girl was unrepentantly spoiled. Especially to the duty driven Kushina who spent her entire life sacrificing herself for strangers as a jinchuuriki, being used as a weapon of war.

But perhaps, Kushina mused. That love that she herself, along with Venelana, Zeoticus, and Sirzerch's had given Rias. Had blinded them to how rotten spoiled she'd gotten.

The girl had poured her drink out on the boy that was to be her intended when they first met, and had created a self fulfilling prophecy where Riser Phenex, who had once been genuinely looking forward to getting to know Ria. Had become just as antagonistic as Rias was towards him.

And so, the question was how to address that? See, while she really preferred to stay out of the affairs that were clearly between parents and daughter.

Venelana had recently asked for her help getting Rias to be less aggressive about her blatant refusal to marry Riser.

And Honestly? Kushina only saw two options, they could either strip Rias of the position of heiress or the girl could voluntarily give it up herself.

Either way, problem solved.

And it's not like Rias would have to leave the family either.

But knowing that girl, Kushina feared it might also lead her to taking more aggressive behavior and that could cause problems. Rias was nothing if petty and vindictive when she wanted to be, and the fact Kushina had trained her meant that the girl had the power to back up the barking.

Rias Gremory had made it plenty of clear she would kill Riser if push came to shove, and the worst part? She could back up those words.

"Kushina-sensei?" The voice of Koneko Toujou called out. Causing said red haired Uzumaki to snap out of her thoughts.

"Yes, Koneko-Chan?" Kushina replied giving the girl a gentle smile. Noting the girl was clutching some sort of poster in her hand.

Koneko flipped it, and Kushina recognized it as a program for a show, coming to Kouh for a company called Kishin Extreme Wrestling.

"Take me?" The girl asked in her usual monotonous tone.

Having already expected the request, considering how Kushina had taken the girl under her wing after the whole Debacle with the girl's older sister, and knowing the girl's obsession with a good bodyslam. She had tried purchasing tickets for the show, but unfortunately, and oddly enough, they had sold out. So Kushina told her as such, "I'm sorry sweetie-Chan, but look's like it'll be tv tonight, but how about I watch with you?"

But then something caught her eye, a flash of yellow. Yellow-blonde hair, followed by blue eyes, and then…

With a trembling voice, Kushina asked, as she pointed at a specific wrestler "K-Koneko-chan, who is that?"

"Oh, you mean the Phenom?" Koneko asked, frowning, "He's okay,"

The red haired widow then asked "Is his name, Naruto?"

Koneko nodded, causing Kushina's brain to shut down. It couldn't be…

It was only a moment later Rias left her private room in the building and called out, "I'll be right back aunt Kushina! I'm going to the store!"

Erza Scarlet found Kouh to be a quaint little town as she spent the late afternoon buying provisions for their stay. As a member of a traveling troop of sorts, she had long since grown used to never staying in one place for too long.

Her thoughts turned to her former guild, Fairy Tail. She still missed them terribly, even if she didn't know them for long, it was the first proper home she had after years of slavery at the tower of heaven.

And she had been inexplicably torn from her home by a force that she couldn't explain. But not just her, her thoughts turned to her best friend, lover, and performing partner, Naruto.

He too had been inexplicably torn from his own home, though perhaps for him. It granted him freedom, a slave to the state as he had been. Both had bonded over their shared traumas as six years had come and gone, forging a deep friendship and romantic love between the two.

But not just them, virtually every member of KEW was someone who had been uprooted and left in this strange world. One alien to them, and the purposes of which they didn't know.

But what they did know was they stuck together, traveling Japan as a fighting circus of sorts. Pouring their hearts and souls out into the squared ring, not with magic, but pure physical ability and storytelling choreography to draw in crowds so they could have money to afford more luxuries like hotel stays and groceries and of course, travel expenses.

Suddenly, she felt something enter the periphery of her sensory range. A beautiful red haired woman with blue-green eyes wearing what looked to be a school uniform passed by, and Erza felt something she didn't often feel.

Someone with magic! But as quickly as it came, the mysterious girl was gone.

Erza didn't try to pursue either, she wanted to be done with her shopping so that she could go back to the hotel and tell her lover about her find.

Back at the hotel, she slid the card into the lock and waited for a beep. As soon as she crossed the threshold and passed by the counter dropping her bag on top as she called out, "Naruto! Guess what?"

Naruto, who was oblivious to the world- considering he was taking a nap. Slowly sat up awake like a zombie and scratched his eyes awake as he asked, "Erza? You're back?"

"Yup, and guess what? I ran into someone with magic in this town," Erza replied excitedly, as she added, "Weirdly enough, she was also a redhead like me, but she had these really pretty blue-green eyes. Just as curvy if not more so than I and she had this sensual aura about her, almost like a succubus, and her hair was a lighter shade of red than mine!"

"Huh, haven't seen you this excited since that fling we had in Tokyo bay last year with that one girl," Naruto replied as he stood up and gave Erza a hug.

"Yeah, it's a shame that we don't really ever stick to one place," Erza admitted, adding, "I'd like to settle down one day when we have enough money to, and to be able to find a fellow gall who is willing to let me explore my more female oriented urges,"

Unspokenly, she didn't yet voice her desire to have children with him. Not because she doubted his abilities as a potential father, or any disagreement in terms of starting their own family. But because she didn't need to.

Naruto had made her feel safe and protected, yet he respected her need for personal space and encouraged her to pursue her passions. He was loving without being overbearing, and respectful without being distant.

But their schedule's are rising talent for KEW put the breaks on the idea of children for the moment.

Then she leaned in and gave him a peck on the lips, grasping his shirt as he did so with her hands and pulling her fiancé in.

Naruto deepened the kiss as his embrace tightened from a light hug into a warm embrace, the two enjoying a moment of tenderness in each other's arms. The kiss ended with the two pressing their forehead together as Erza thought back on their time together.

To think she almost let her own fear and need to dance around her own complex feelings to turn her into a coward, Naruto however was far too direct, honest and empathetic for that.

The fact she almost let the tainted memory of Jellal ruin this for was a sin she'd never forgive herself for, punished and corrected by her promise to live life to the fullest, much like Naruto had done with his own promise to not cry when he was younger.

Erza giggled as she remembered something, causing Naruto to asked, "What's up?"

Erza looked up at him with a smirk, "You have to run a gauntlet style tonight, honey,"

"Oh fuck," Naruto replied as he slumped his shoulders, "Why did you have to remind me?"

"Because I love getting to treat you like a king," Erza replied seductively, winking at him, "But only after you work hard and earn it,"
