Written in classic animated slapstick style — no dialogue, only expressive sound effects, grunts, and exaggerated facial expressions.
INT. OGGY'S LIVING ROOM – DAY
The living room is oddly peaceful. A chessboard sits in the center of the coffee table. Joey, the ever-scheming purple cockroach, strokes his nonexistent beard, squinting at the board. Across from him sits Alfred, the light-blue, serenity-seeking cockroach, sipping calming tea from a thimble-sized cup.
CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON THE BOARD
Both players have their game faces on. Intense music plays — think Inception meets Looney Tunes.
JOEY'S POV
He reaches for a knight. Stops. Reaches for the bishop. Smirks. Switches to a pawn and nudges it forward confidently.
ALFRED'S POV
He blinks slowly, yawns. Gently picks up a rook and places it.
Joey gulps. He didn't expect that move.
MONTAGE – TIME PASSES
– Joey frantically checking a chess manual, flipping through pages at hyper speed.
– Alfred meditating as incense burns beside him, chess clock ticking down.
– Joey pulling out tiny binoculars to spy on Alfred's pieces.
– Alfred responding by turning the board 180 degrees mid-game with a zen smile.
INT. OGGY'S LIVING ROOM – LATER
The game nears its climax. Sweat drips down Joey's antennae. Alfred remains stoic, sipping his now-cold tea.
JOEY (MENTALLY)
Cue internal dramatic monologue in exaggerated French accent:
"One move... just one... and the game is mine, mon petit grasshopper..."
He places his queen down...
Joey: (silent smug grin, holds up a mini victory flag)
Alfred: (calmly places bishop)
CHECKMATE.
JOEY:
Eyes bulge. Shocked face. Tiny thundercloud appears above his head and zaps him. Smoke poofs.
ENDING – SLOW ZOOM OUT
Alfred returns to meditating. Joey flips the board in cartoon rage — only to realize Alfred is levitating slightly off the floor in pure chill-mode.
