*Unknown*

The floor. The walls. The ceiling. Everything was spinning. It was like getting off of a rollercoaster, only instead of a euphoric feeling of satisfaction from the sheer thrill of the ride, the only sensations she was experiencing right now was pain and dizziness.

Liara's eyes wandered across the roof of the escape pod, unable to acquire focus. She couldn't even move her body. Every single cell in her body felt like they were being poked at by hundreds of thousands of white hot, rusty needles. Her head pounded like a drum being hit by a baseball bat. The asari didn't even know where she was right now. The pain was too great.

What had just happened? Last Liara remembered, she had lost contact with Miranda's pod and, all of a sudden, hers and Cortez's pod started to shake violently and then felt some sort of falling sensation. Liara assumed that they had perhaps drifted too close to a planet's gravitational pull and were being dragged to the surface. Luckily for the two of them, the escape pod was equipped with anti-crash systems that were separate from the pod's power source, which meant that they would survive the fall, but that wasn't to say they wouldn't feel the impact of the crash.

She was clearly concussed. Blood trickled down her face, streaking across her hair tentacles. One of them had broken off, likely from the crash. Anti-crash systems or not, how Liara had managed to survive this was nothing short of a miracle.

"…ra! Liara!"

A voice rang in her ears. A man's voice. It was… familiar.

"Liara, come on! Snap out of it!"

It sounded like Cortez, and he seemed worried. Liara did see something in front of her, but it was too fuzzy, she couldn't tell. If Liara could just focus…

"S… Steve..?"

"Hang on, I'll get you out of here."

T'Soni felt two hands wrap themselves beneath her arms tightly. She felt herself be lifted off the floor of the pod just a little so Cortez could pull her out of the wreckage. It was slow, but Liara was starting to regain her sense of focus as her vision was clearing up.

Once they were outside was when Liara REALLY came back to her senses, with the aid of a sudden drop in temperature, and when I saw drop, I mean…

"AAAAAAAGH! COLD! WHY IS IT SO COLD?!"

Like being tossed into a freezing lake. Liara jumped onto her feet from the sheer shock of the frigid air hitting her cerulian skin. Her body was instantly shivering and her arms were crossed. As far as Liara could see, there were mountains of snow and ice as large as a Mass Relay. Abandoned and demolished buildings were scattered all around the area, some buried in the snow mounds, others left to rust and decay on the surface. A town of some sorts? Liara wasn't sure. She was too cold to care right now.

She switched on her Omni-Tool and activated her suit's climate control function. A thin, invisible field surrounded her and her body was no longer shivering. Liara let out a moan of relief.

"Oh, that's better…" She said.

"Good to know for next time that all I need would be an ice bucket to wake you up." Joked Cortez.

"Not funny. Where even are we?"

Their surroundings were foreign to them. The buildings themselves looked human in design, but not the usual architecture they use for colonies.

"I'm not sure." Cortez admitted. "It may be some colony. An abandoned one, anyway."

Liara noticed that there was something sticking out of the snow. She trotted over and pulled it up out of its frosty burial. It was a sign, tarnished, but still readable.

"Welcome to Eventide, Proud Home of Bray Technologies!"

Eventide, huh? Well, at least they knew what this place was now. It really was a colony, but it's clearly seen better days. It was as though a Reaper had attacked this place from the amount of destruction she could see.

"Wonder what 'Bray Technologies' is?" Said Steve as he approached.

"Some tech company, maybe? Like Binary Helix. I'm not entirely positive."

Liara dropped the sight and turned to the sky above. "But that doesn't provide us with the answer of what planet we're on."

"I think I can answer that."

She turned to Cortez, who was staring up at the sky as well, but in a different direction. The human pointed upwards to where he was looking. Liara decided to take a look, only to gasp in disbelief.

Above them, Planet Jupiter, the largest planet in Sol. That led Liara to think of its moons, one which was known for its icy surface. Europa.

They were still in Sol? That couldn't be right. The Normandy flew straight through The Anomaly. Did it spit them right back out or something? What's more, last she checked, there were no colonies on Europa. The moon was used by Earth as a mining operation for extracting abundances of iron and nickel. Yet these buildings and structures bore no Alliance logos or anything, not even a single piece of mining equipment to be found. What's more…

How were they even breathing without space suits?! Europa's atmosphere was too thin for people to breathe. Something was off here. Very off.

What's more, there seemed to be no sign of the escape pod that contained Miranda and the rest of the crew, nor the one Tali had managed to slip into. Did they crash in another area of the moon? It was possible. They wouldn't find out just by standing around though, so it was time to get moving.

Unbeknownst to the two of them, someone was watching them. A single purple eye, glowing in the dark.

The deafening sounds of a rifle going off filled the air. Bullets cut into the air at high speed, piercing through the skulls of Fallen in their path. The rifle gave off a three round burst. This gave it a more balanced firing rate against foes. Fallen in the area attempted to scatter, to gain the upper hand. Only they ended up being picked off one by one by their invisible aggressor. Many collapsed into the snow dead. The Wretches, Vandals, and a Captain all regrouped. They surveyed their surroundings to find just who it was they were dealing with. So far, they found nothing.

"Just what is happening here?!" Shrieked one of the Vandals.

"I'd tell you boys, but I don't even have time to explain why I don't have time to explain."

Appearing absolutely out of nowhere between them, a humanoid figure. The Fallen all turned to slash her. They ended up all being sliced apart themselves by crystalline scythes. Purple blood cascaded across the ice, freezing almost instantly. The Captain backed away in fright from its attacker.

The stranger was a woman from the shape of her body, and an Exo, considering her metal face which was painted white with streaks of black. Her eyes, a pale light blue that shot a brooding scowl at any who would be foolish enough to face her. Draped over her upper body, navy blue and yellow poncho made up of tattered cloth. There was also a weapon strapped to her back. A large pulse rifle that appeared to be of custom design. It had the inscription, "No Time To Explain" on the side.

"I'm sorry I had to just drop in like this…" She spoke, her voice carried a subtle English accent. "Before I kill you, I have to ask. Where is your Kell? Where is she hiding?"

The Captain let out an enraged snarl. It drew his Shock Blades and took a combat stance. The amount of bloodlust just radiating off it was practically visible. The Stranger's eyes narrowed in irritation.

"So that's how it has to be, huh?"

The Captain charged, but was stopped dead in its tracks. A small shuriken of pure ice had lodged itself deep into its helmet. The icy blade penetrated right through the armor, even the skull, into the brain, killing it instantly. The Captain fell into the snow.

The entire squad was down, thanks to the efforts of a single woman. The Exo Stranger lifted her hand to the side of her head and pressed a button.

"All clear on my end, Variks. The refugees can proceed. Send word to Mithrax's pickup crew." She spoke into her comms.

"*chittering* Thank you, Stranger… The Light Kell awaits…" Replied a voice from the other side, slow and monotone. "Variks owes you… a debt… *click click*"

"You don't owe me anything, and we're not strangers anymore. Call me Elizabeth, or Elsie. Whatever's fine with you."

Her gaze turned back to the Captain's corpse in curiosity. Elsie walked over to the body. She let her hands search its form for anything that could be of use in the future. That was when she felt something metallic slide into her grip. Elsie pulled it out of the coat. A radio, one of Fallen design. There was chatter coming through the speaker, but she couldn't understand it due to their language, but the troops on the other end… they sounded rallied. Something was afoot.

"Variks, I found a radio. I hear chatter, but I can't make sense of what they're saying. Care to translate?"

Elsie brought the device up to her comm. Variks listened closely. Though the speech was muffled, he could understand it clearly.

"Ohhhhhhh… House Salvation forces gathering in Eventide… Object fro the sky, crashing down… near Deep Stone Crypt entrance…"

"Object? Like a Warsat?" She guessed.

"*purring* No… Escape pod, from what this one is hearing… Unknown in origin… *chittering* Reports say that there were signs of life inside. Passengers. Abandoned most recently…"

Someone crashed la fed on the planet surface? A Guardian, perhaps? Or maybe a civilian scrapper who was collecting debris at the time? Who it was wasn't important. What is, was their safety, especially with hostile forces closing in on them.

"The passengers. How many?" Elsie questioned.

"Two, from what Variks is hearing… Once patrol clears, this one will investigate…"

"Not so fast, this one is coming with you." She insisted. "If you know who is here on the planet, you can't face her alone. You'll need all the help you can get. Wait for me. Elsie out."

She silenced her comm system. With a quick selection of her visual HUD, Elsie summoned a small vehicle. A Sparrow. Its form sleek and futuristic, painted a brilliant white with wiring across its body. (Retrocausality) She hopped aboard her transportation and revved the throttle, the engine in the back letting out a loud purr and the thruster in the back powering up. It was seconds before the Sparrow zoomed off into the icy planes beyond.

'Let's hope I'm not too late…'

Liara and Cortez had to have been walking for hours, or at least felt like they were. The depth of the snow made it difficult to really explore, that's for sure. Had it not been for their Omni-Tools' climate fields, there would be no way they could have made it this far in the moon's freezing temperatures. They prayed that, if their pod did crash somewhere nearby, they were conscious enough to engage their own. Liara needed to find them, and fast.

No longer were they within the confines of the old settlement. The two had moved on to some sort of frozen chasm. There were huge pillars of ice all around them, lined with some sort of… They weren't exactly sure. It was technological in appearance, but it looked as though it was actually a part of the ice, not just grafted into it by an exterior force.

It was not only in the ice, though. The strange technology all around the area. Platforms, monoliths, towers. The design and make up wasn't like anything Liara had ever seen before. From what she could tell from scanning them, this kind technology was old, yet highly advanced, even more than Reaper tech. There appeared to be some sort of white substance coursing through them. The scanner couldn't seem to figure out what exactly it was. How strange…

Cortez and Liara soon found themselves before some new structure. It looked like a gate of some kind. It was inactive.

"Well, this is definitely the weirdest thing I've ever seen." Stated Cortez, examining the machine. "Who do you think built this thing?"

"I don't have the faintest clue." Replied Liara, absolutely stunned.

Her hand gently brushed against the cold metal of the structure. She wanted to get a feel of the material. It looked like copper, but something told her that the metal was clearly something… else.

"Its architecture doesn't match any other race I'm familiar with. If the situation was different, I would love to take the time to study it."

"I think just about any Alliance researcher would kill for the chance to-"

The gate suddenly came to life with a blinding white light. Cortez and Liara both backed away in surprise at the sudden power up. The interior was generating what looked like a portal.

"Did you touch something?" Liara asked her company.

"No." Replied Cortez.

"Surround them!"

Without warning, multiple figures emerged from beneath the snow. Fallen, ranging from Vandals to Marauders. Liara and Cortez were caught completely off guard by the ambush, soon finding themselves surrounded by insectoid aliens. But the time they had drawn their pistols, there were too many to count.

"What the hell are these things?!" Exclaimed Steve.

"Look what we have here…"

Some Fallen move aside to make way for something approaching. It was another one, but much larger than the others. This Fallen was clad in black armor, and had what looked like ice spikes protruding out from the collar of its cloak. It also seemed to be wearing an eye patch over its two right eyes. The alien let out an aggressive snarl at the sight of the two humanoids.

"Two little hares, scurrying through the snow." It's voice was raspy, but female from the sound of it. "And now… cornered by the wolves that hunt them and hunger for their blood."

"If that's a pickup line, it ain't working, señorita."

That remark from Cortez made the larger Fallen growl at him in aggression. It was safe to say she wasn't one for jokes, neither were her forces.

"Who are you people?" Questioned Liara.

The leader scoffed, but decided to indulge the asari's curiosity. "I am Eramis, Kell of House Salvation. You trespass in my territory."

"Last I checked, Europa was Alliance turf. You and your little possy are the ones trespassing." Cortex corrected her.

Eramis turned her gaze to the pilot. Her two left eyes burning brightly with anger and disgust. Beneath her mask, her mandibles clicked and she let out a menacing hiss.

"Do not lay claim to our land, Human!"

She raised her arm and fired off a blast of cold energy at Cortez. It hit him dead in the center of his chest, sending him flying backwards and into the portal behind them. Cortez vanished completely from sight within an instant and the gate quickly closed up afterwards. Liara's eyes widened with horror.

"CORTEZ!"

Eramis smirked. "One down." She said smugly.

Liara shifted her gaze from the portal back to Eramis. "What just happened?! Where did he go?!" She shouted.

"Your human friend lives, but not for long." Eramis explained coldly. "He is now spinning uncontrollably across the Vex Network. He could be anywhere in Sol by now. A shame. He would have made a fine meal for the Dregs."

The Kell let out a malicious laugh at the thought. Her men following suit with her sick glee. Liara was abhorred. These people were savages. She hadn't met anyone this sick since Kai Leng, back on Thessia. Eramis looked down at Liara, her large frame towering over hers.

"Though I suppose you may be just as appetizing to them. They will consume just about anything if it means filling their bellies."

T'Soni tensed up. This Eramis clearly wasn't one for taking prisoners, so there was no way Liara could bargain her way out of this situation. She will have to fight her way out, but she needed time.

"I'm sorry to tell you this, but I'm not on the menu. Even if you did try and take a bite out of me, I'm sure I would make you all sick." She warned them.

"A feisty one. I enjoy prey who can fight back." Eramis drew a weapon from her back. Some sort of grenade launcher, built from pieces of scrap metal. It's body was silver with streaks of blue across it. (Salvation's Grip) "I do hope that you can provide me with a challenge… Liara T'Soni."

The asari's expression changed to a look of confusion. Eramis knew her name? She didn't recall giving her name at any point in this conversation.

"Now just how do you know who I am?" Liara asked.

"Harper-3 spoke much of you and your reputation, little Shadow Broker. He stated that you are among the more intelligent, and dangerous foes he had faced."

Harper-3? Who was that? She had never met anyone with that name before. How would he know about her?

"Look at you. So confused. So clueless as to my knowledge of you and your little friends. It is almost adorable."

As Eramis drew closer, Liara stepped back slightly. T'Soni looked around. There were troops encircling her, leaving nowhere to run. She needed a way out of this, now.

"You think you have the upper hand just because you have knowledge of me. Well, I have knees for you, Ms. Eramis. I also have knowledge, of you." Eramis cocked her head to the side. "You're an eliksni, a pre-space flight race from Riis, a planet residing in the furthest edge of the Terminus Systems. I'm not sure as to how you made this far from your homeworld, but it clearly wasn't without help, since your people are nothing more…"

Biotic energy was building up inside her. A purple aura surrounding her.

"Then a race of savage, bloodthirsty barbarians… How am I doing?"

Such an insult hitting her ears drove Eramis into an uncontrollable frenzy. She let out a furious snarl and drew two swords with her extra arms.

"HOW DARE YOU, ASARI!"

As Eramis charged, Liara unleashed a powerful burst of biotic energy from her body. It knocked away not just the Kell, but the other Fallen as well and blew up a large cloud of snow. Liara decided to use this to her advantage. With quick movements, she dashed across the icy terrain towards each of the lesser Fallen. She quickly fired off a bullet from her pistol into their heads and killed them executioner style for maximum efficiency.

Once the cloud had cleared, there appeared to have been no trace of the leader anywhere. Odd… Did Liara frighten her off? No. Eramis was preparing a counter attack. She could feel it.

It was only for a moment, but Liara could sense something approaching her from behind. She drew her sword from her back and countered. Her own blade clashed with the Kell's. The force generated upturned more snow around them. The two now staring one another down, blades locked together.

"Useless pawns. Unable to kill one tiny little girl like you." Eramis growled.

"Don't think I'm helpless just because of my size!"

Liara fired off three shots from her Acolyte pistol into Eramis' chest. The force of the projectiles caused the eliksni to be thrown off balance and she had to take a step back. If it weren't for her shields, those rounds would have gone right through her.

An opening in her defense was made. Liara charged. She jumped upward and slammed her foot right into Eramis' jaw. That wasn't all, because upon landing, T'Soni spun and slashed her sword across her opponent's gut, leaving a deep cut. Eramis snarled from the pain, but now it was her turn. Using her grenade launcher, the Kell fired a blast of freezing energy at Liara. The asari jumped out of the way before it hit her. Looking back at the impact sight, a large ice crystal formed seemingly out of nowhere. Perhaps the effects of the weapon.

Eramis fired off more shots from her launcher. Liara was skillfully dodging each and every one of them with grace. More ice crystals formed from where the projectiles crashed. Some short, some tall. Liara wondered what they were for, but that was not her primary focus right now. Switching to her Tempest SMG, T'Soni let loose a stream of bullets at Eramis. However, they proved to be ineffective against her tough armor plating.

Bullets clearly weren't going to cut it, but biotics might. Liara holstered her gun and activated Shield Boost before rushing on in. Eramis charged also, firing off more rounds from her weapon. The asari had managed to dodge those as well. Once the two had gotten close, it was a vicious clash of swords. Sparks flew from the metal blades smashing against one another. Liara had more than one close call on the dodging as the edge of Eramis' swords left shallow cuts across her face and body. There was one instance where her throat was slit. Luckily, Liara had Medi-Gel on hand and was able to close up the wound quickly.

Eramis channeled freezing energy into one of her hands; ice crystals formed around it as she thrust it towards her adversary.

"Freeze!" She howled.

A swarm of ice shards flew towards Liara as fast as bullets. With one hand, Liara put up a biotic barrier to defend against them. The shards bounced off the shield and fell to the ground one by one. Eramis was not done however, as she tossed two small ice crystals onto the ground. They lit up and homed on on Liara in the form of icicle waves. Those were bad news, she could tell, so she decided to think outside the box and used her Pull ability on herself to amplify her jumping height. That in turn allowed her to leap away from the ice waves zooming at her.

The Kell hissed. Liara was getting on her nerves. She drew a Shock Pistol and fired it off at her airborne target. Liara used her Singularity as a defense and used the black hole to suck up the shots into nothing. She landed back onto the ground, twirling her sword before getting into stance.

"Is that all you've got?" She asked with a cocky smirk.

"Do not get so ahead of yourself!"

Eramis holstered her weapons. She conjured four ice shurikens in her hands, tossing them all across the area. The stars made contact with the large crystals created by her grenade launcher, bouncing off them one after the other in succession. So much as a tap from the blades caused each and every one of the crystals to shatter on contact, disturbing multiple fragments all around the area and into Liara's flesh. This was Earmis' plan from the start. The ice dug deep into T'Soni's body. Blood seeped out of every one of her cuts. Her shields stood no chance against such a bombardment. She fell onto one knee from the pain.

"Not so tough now, are you?" Eramis mocked.

Not good. She got too sure of her victory and that was the last Medi-Gel she had. Liara was in trouble now. She cursed herself for pulling a move that Garrus would have done. The large eiksni approached the kneeling asari slowly, her hand glowing a bright blue with freezing energy. Liara tried to get back up, but one of the tendons in her leg was severed, making movement difficult. She could reinforce her legs using biotics, but she would need focus, which she didn't have time for. She needed a plan, and now.

"Look at you now, Liara T'Soni. So weak and breakable, like the helpless prey you are."

Wrong. She was not helpless. Liara drew her pistol and SMG and fired both of them at her opponent. High-powered energy slugs and a rapid fire stream of bullets hit Eramis like rain pouring down from above. Except all they managed to do was slow her down. Liara switched to Warp Ammo. This would amplify her shots' power against foes affected by biotics. Putting away her SMG to free one hand, she hit Eramis with a Stasis field, temporarily immobilizing her for a short period of time. Liara fired off her pistol again. This time, the rounds packed more power and finally managed to penetrate the Kell's tough armor as purple blood squirted from the wounds inflicted.

Once the Statis wore off, Eramis cried out and clenched her chest from the pain. She glared at Liara, who was snickering at her.

"Sometimes, prey is at their most dangerous when they're cornered..!"

The eliksni snarled. Now she was angry. "Damned brat! I will shatter you like glass!"

Eramis charged, drawing two swords with her upper arms. Liara drew her own in response. The Kell brought down both her blades on the asari, but they were blocked by Liara's sword. However, that was merely a distraction as Eramis drew two more swords using her lower arms and thrust them forwards.

They pierced right through Liara's chest.

Liara gasped as the cold steel of the swords ran through her body. She was lifted into the air and brought face to face with Eramis, who was grinning maliciously beneath her mask.

"Stupid girl!" She spat. "I am the great Kell of Darkness! The one chosen to lead the eliksni into a new age through the dark powers of Statis! You stood no chance at stopping me!"

Liara dropped her sword. Blood erupted from her mouth due to the blades inside her puncturing her organs. One had sliced her lung. That made breathing nearly impossible. Try as she might to escape, it was futile.

"If only your clueless companion, Garrus Vakarian were here to see this. It would be beneficial for him to watch his past be cut down so that he may embrace his destiny, as I have."

Garrus? What does he have to do with this? Eramis twisted one of her swords, sending unbearable pain throughout Liara's body. She screamed in total agony. One of Eramis' hands reached for her hip. She drew a Shock Pistol and pointed it at the asari's head.

"I will grant you one final mercy, Liara T'Soni." The pistol's hammer cocked. "Any last words?"

"Actually… *cough* just two…"

Liara grabbed Eramis' arm, here eyes turned black.

"Embrace eternity!"

Waves of pure psionic energy coursed through the very being of the Kell until they reached her brain. Eramis screamed at the top of her lungs. Unimaginable pain was racing all throughout her mind as though she were having the worst aneurysm imaginable. It was a Forced Melding. Melding was normally used by asari as their ways of consummating by sharing thoughts, memories, and emotions, and experiences with another. However, in some cases involving life or death, a Forced Melding can be used against an opponent to force them into experiencing all of the asari's negative experiences. This can be excruciating.

Eramis saw countless images flash before her eyes. The Reapers. The death of Liara's mother, Benezia. Shepard dying at the hands of the Collectors. Freon being taken. The fall of Thessia. All of it was accompanied by feelings of anger and despair so overwhelming that it would be enough to drive a normal person to insanity. Eramis struggled to make Liara let go, as the pain was far too much for even her to bear.

"UNHAND ME!!!"

Finally, her swords slide out of Liara's body. The asari fell to the ground in a bloody splatter. Though despite her injuries, she was able to pick herself up. She looked over at Eramis, who was still writhing in pain. This was her chance to escape. Liara dragged herself over to the edge of a deep slope. She jumped over and sled down the side, away from her opponent.

The pain had eventually faded and Eramis stopped screaming. Her breathing was heavy and labored, likely due to the shock of the mental attack. She scanned her surroundings. Liara had vanished. There was a trail of blood on the ice however that led to the edge of the ice they were standing on Eramis let out a furious snarl.

"ASARI FLEA!"

The weather had just taken a sudden turn for the worst. Light snowfall rapidly transformed into a howling blizzard. Powerful freezing wind, combined with heavy snow and ice being carried by them only amplifying the cold. Liara was barely able to tread through the knee deep snow after just sliding down such a steep cliff.

Not only was she exhausted, but her wounds were still gushing blood from where Eramis impaled her. Normally, the sheer cool would freeze her blood solid to stop the bleeding, but her climate control field was preventing that. Not like T'Soni could just turn it off either, or else she would freeze and collapse. It was beyond explanation that she was able to make it this far in her condition.

Though her strength was finally beginning to waver as Liara felt her legs go numb. She fell forward into the snow. Breathing had become a next to impossible task with her lung injury. Her body shivered from the loss of too much blood. Everything in her vision was getting foggy.

Was this it? Was this how Liara was going to die? Alone in the snow? Forgotten? Betrayed by her best friend? No. It couldn't be. Not after everything they had gone through. Not until she sees her one more time. Liara needed to know why? To know what had happened. She needed to know..!

"Goddess… No…"

Liara turned onto her back. She stared up at the sky. The sight of Jupiter now all that was in her field of view, as well as the stars around it. It was beautiful. Peaceful. She wished the others could see this. Garrus and Wrex would probably be complaining about the cold. Tali would be a different story. Knowing Kaiden and Joker, they'd just get into a snowball fight like a bunch of kids. Maybe Ashley would do some ice fishing, she seemed like the kind of girl who would do that.

Shepard… Shepard would probably…

Would probably be here to save her… Right..?

"Help me… Shepard…"

"…ian? Guardian! Eyes up, Guardian!"

Someone was calling her. Who? Liara did not recognize the voice. Slowly, she began to open her eyes. There was something obscured in her line of sight. It was small and glowing purple, floating just over her face. It took a minute, but Liara's sight came into focus.

The small object was some sort of… robot? It was the size of a soft ball. A black body accompanied by glowing streaks of purple across its X shaped body. In its center, four violet LEDs surrounding a single, purple optic. (Adonis Shell)

"What the..?" Liara groaned, holding her aching head.

"It worked! You're alive!"

The small robot hovered around Liara's head in joyous excitement. Its shell spinning in intervals before resetting back to its original position. Liara jerked her head back nervously whenever it would get too close to her face. Confusion was clear as day in her eyes. She had no idea what was going on right now or who this little robot was or what it was doing, but sure seemed happy right now

"You have no idea how long I've been looking for you." Its voice sounded male, and a tad deep despite its size. "Hi. I'm Mezmir. I'm a Ghost. Actually, I'm your Ghost, and you're my Guardian."

Guardian? What was that? The term sounded familiar for some reason, but she couldn't remember why. That was when Liara felt a strange sensation coming from her left arm, like something was wrapped around it. She looked down. Looped around her bicep, a luminous ring of pure energy that glowed the purest blue. Where did that come from? Liara looked back over to Mezmir, who was still beaming with happiness.

"And who might you be?"

YAHOO! Warlock Liara, everybody! I had plans to make her into a Guardian since the beginning! Looks like she's now gonna have to learn all the ropes like Shepard did.

As for Cortez, where do you guys think he'll end up once he's spit out of the Vex portal system? Love to hear your guesses.

And don't worry. I haven't forgotten. About Grunt and Saladin. Their battle will be titanic! With fire! And Blood Rages! And Gjallarhorns! Oh my!

Until the next chapter!
