The apartment shared by Lincoln, Gwen and Dawn and they had gotten home from their jobs with their work done. "We have that comic done; hopefully we can dodge all the TD fans and former cast members until the thing is done and then we can focus on the wedding preparations and One Good Death." Gwen told them preying that things will be as simple as that though they rarely were when she was involved with that show.
"Let's just relax and shall we put in a movie? I have been hoping for a chance to look at the Young Frankenstein DVD that we got at that charity store a while back?" Dawn suggested and they thought that it was a sound idea. However before they could start to put the DVD player or TV on; the apartment door opened and running in was Leon going to greet his uncle and two honorary aunts (soon to be official in Gwen's case) and followed by Mrs Lori Santiago; back from her day at work at a golfing business where she was making it as an executive.
Lori however didn't look as energetic or as happy as her son and she looked concerned. The three cheerfully picked up the excited infant; "Hey there everyone; Bobby told me all about your unwanted guest this morning." Lori said and their faces soon turned to frowns at that reminder. "So what was it like meeting the infamous Mr McLean for the first time Lincoln Plus what are your plans and how could I help?" Lori asked as they sighed.
"Honestly Lori... While I noticed his grey hairs; his attitude and that look on his face made him as punchable as I ever imagined the smug sadist to be." Lincoln answered truthfully and Gwen thought that it was putting it lightly; Lori looked like the reaction was to be expected.
"Honestly Lori... I just hope that we can dodge the old cast members and the fans until the whole thing is done. There were friends that I don't regret meeting but... Total Drama the brand brings up bad memories and I don't know if I can trust anything involving him ever again!" Gwen admitted with a deep sigh.
"You know that we could always call the sisters over and they could help you steer clear of them all?" Lori suggested and the three blinked and then shook their heads.
"I appreciate the thought Lori but we all have our own lives and careers and I would hate to get in the way to deal with our problems..." Lincoln answered and Gwen nodded; she didn't want to put her future in-laws all the hassle to help them when it was their situation to deal with.
"I am sensing the Aura of another coming..." Dawn giggled and came rushing in was Leni having started to make it big as a fashion designer and she instantly went up to Gwen.
"Gwen; you have to come to the studio like... I have some more wedding dresses that you must try on!" Leni said as excitedly as ever as Gwen just sighed at her.
"Again Leni? I have already tried on many and that included the first 6 you somehow had made up just hours after you were told of the engagement." Gwen asked as Leni looked like she didn't hear her as she was ready to drag Gwen through the door. Still though while most people think of wedding preparations being stressful for the bride; she would take it over dealing with everything related to this Reunion special.
"She had 8 ready for me just 2 hours of being told..." scoffed Lori with her arms folded and Gwen decided to relent.
"So you two want to just go on without me? Knowing her; we will be a while?" Gwen asked not wanting them to stop their plans on her account.
"Would rather us see a movie all together but... How about we go to the dance club?" Lincoln suggested to Dawn as the Great Lakes City dance and karaoke club was a popular date spot for the three of them. Dawn beamed at that idea as Gwen smiled; no need for them to miss out with her preoccupied.
"You two just dance, sing and have fun and perhaps our Man with the Plan could come up with something to help." Gwen told them assuredly and at this moment Gwen was optimistic about finding a way through this.
"So Dawn... Any expectation of you showing up at that TD Reunion?" asked the bartender at the dance club later as Lincoln was served his favourite soda sold there and Dawn served her fruit smoothie. They winced at the looks from other regular patrons who looked their way as Dawn gulped.
"Probably not but... Can we have some space about that topic please?" Dawn asked as they had came to know them well enough to leave them to their drinks which they finished as the current song ended.
"Dancers of all sorts!" said the owner, main host and DJ off the club greeting everyone with a microphone from the soundstage and the attention was on him. "Our next songs comes from a legend that is known as Footloose where a great hero Kevin Bacon taught an entire city of people with sticks up their butts that dancing is the greatest thing there is!" the DJ explained and the patrons were excited about this.
Lincoln and Dawn were definitely no exception and dancing together to Never by Moving Pictures was a great way to move it and just forget all your troubles. Going through the titular song by Kenny Loggins; they didn't notice the crowd gathered at 2 particular patrons entering and being recognised.
Once the Footloose songs were done; the owner then said "as an extra treat for you all; we have here to perform live... None other than the Moon Goats!" the DJ said and Lincoln and Dawn were impressive in managing to clap the loudest among this big crowd as there were the Moon Goats coming up on the stage; another of Lincoln's big sisters Luna there with her band which included her wife Sam and they clearly noticed him and Dawn among the crowd. Their band was beginning to tour big and build up which was a dream come true for the 4 who had been friends for a long time.
Luna got the microphone and said "before we rock out; I wanna give a shout out to my little bro Lincoln who is with us tonight!" There was clapping as a spotlight shined on Lincoln's spot and he just took a little bow. "Lincoln was our band's first manager when we were teens and he definitely helped us out and has been an amazing bro and I don't doubt that he is gonna be an amazing husband! He just got engaged to his first girlfriend and is there with his other!" Luna said as the Moon Goats started performing Play It Loud.
"Even into my adult years; you can count on your older sisters to embarrass you..." Lincoln muttered as Dawn giggled and they noticed full on mocking laughter from a tall built man with a goatee and they stared at him.
"So you're that little bro? Must feel so proud being related to the lead of a group of rock wannabes such as the Moon Goats!" mocked the man as this caught the disapproving glances of the patrons but Dawn's eyes widened as she sensed something about him.
"Who do you think you are talking smack about the next big thing in rock music?" Lincoln demanded as the man widened his eyes as he sized him up.
"Do you not recognise the bad boy of the most popular reality show that TV has had in a long time? Duncan here and I know proper music you snowball haired pipsqueak!" the man retorted as Lincoln's eyes widened as he could see him as Duncan all older but knew that he wasn't just the former juvenile bad boy but also Gwen's later ex-boyfriend. The one whose relationship was much worst than the other.
"Duncan! Come on man! You are making a scene!" said a cool looking lean man leading him a way and he smiled at Lincoln. "So sorry about Duncan; was being with him for a season and a small part of the 2nd one... I'm Trent and I like your sister's music and think she and her band has a future. Also congrats on the engagement." the man told Lincoln with a friendly smile as Lincoln and Dawn's eyes widened when they realised that both of Gwen's exes were in front of them and Duncan was glaring at them.
"Thanks..." Lincoln returned and looked to Dawn; "So... Just our luck that both exes have found their way to us... She is gonna love this..." Lincoln muttered to Dawn who nodded.
"I always thought that Duncan's Aura would feel like someone had did a number 1 on it; expectations met..." Dawn returned and they shared a laugh that Duncan heard and was about to run up to them to demand to know what they were saying.
"I think that's time for the trademark dance used in the Loud House in my childhood... The Running Man..." Lincoln remarked as Trent was doing his best to hold Duncan back and this finally caught the Moon Goats' attention as they stopped playing and glared at Duncan's direction.
"What is the big idea making a commotion and that would be bad enough while we are performing but it looks like you are going to start something with my bro!" demanded Luna as everyone was glaring at Duncan.
"Your little brother is a wise ass and your music is terrible! What could I expect from amateurs inspired by Mick Swagger the most overrated hack in the history of rock and was the best news to hear that he had retired!" shouted out Duncan to gasps and Lincoln honestly expected Luna to want to kill Duncan for what he had just said.
"You want to say that to our faces?" Sam demanded as Duncan had gotten out of Trent's grip and pushed past security to get to the soundstage.
"Lincoln... Dawn... Better make yourself scarce and sorry about all this... Consider your next visit here with Gwen all on the house with everything from entering to the bar..." said the owner and they took the opportunity to get the hell out of there.
"I do hate bad omens; don't you..." Dawn muttered as they got to the exit and Lincoln couldn't agree more.
"You know what Leni... I love this one! This is perfect..." Gwen smiled at she looked in the mirror at Leni's studio with Leni marvelling at her handiwork. This dress was an amazing black coloured designed; not as gothic as Lucy would want her's to be but there were gothic influence to this. "Lincoln and Dawn are going to be speechless when they see me down the aisle in this..." Gwen smirked as Leni's phone started ringing and she quickly answered it.
Gwen's eyebrows moved suspiciously as Leni was looking concerned; "Sorry Gwen but that was Lori and she was telling me to put on the live news now..." Leni explained as she went to the TV and put it on with the news channel. Leni was shocked and Gwen just smacked her face.
"Could the universe not give us even a small break for a nanosecond?" Gwen asked incredulously as the news van was outside the dance club where she could plainly see her ex Duncan handcuffed and forced into a police car.
