Title: Robcina Week 2019 - Day 1: Family
Description: With the day of Robin and Lucina's wedding fast approaching, it was only natural that Robin would end up spending more time with Lucina's family. However, being dragged along by Cynthia as she insisted he and Lucina were going to come up with special team moves with her was not the exactly what Robin had expected.

"Remind me why I am doing this again?" Robin asked as he was dragged along by one arm.
"Because, having a butt-kicking team move is a guaranteed morale booster!" Cynthia proclaimed, continuing to tug him along, causing Robin to stumble every few steps as he struggled to keep pace "Besides, me and Lucy already have one, and since you're pretty much my brother-in-law, the three of us need one too!"
Robin looked back over his shoulder to where Lucina hurried to keep up. She shot him an apologetic look, her expression somewhere between exasperated and mortified at the same time.
"But Lucina and I aren't exactly married yet. So isn't it a bit… premature?" Robin asked.
"Of course not! You two are engaged already, and with Morgan showing up we know it worked out. Might as well get a head start, I say," Cynthia countered
"That is not how time travel works," Robin muttered, taking his turn to shoot an apologetic look Lucina's way, trying to make it clear he was not second guessing their rapidly approaching marriage date. "And even if it was, couldn't we wait until after the wedding?"
"Nope! It has to be today and that's final," Cynthia stated bluntly. Dragging him the last few steps, they came to a small circle of trees, the patch of grass in their middle roughly flat and devoid of any debris that might otherwise trip them up during a practice session.
Or whatever they were supposed to call the circus act Cynthia was dragging him into.
"This looks like a good spot," Cynthia stated matter-of-factly, turning back to look at them
"Since this is your first time Robin, I'll go over the basics. Our first step is to come up with cool heroic sounding name for the team combo attack. Since there are three of us, it needs to have 'triple' or 'tri' or even just 'three' somewhere in the name. That's a given. Bonus points if we work in the whole 'family' part into the name too."
"Wait, shouldn't we figure out what we're doing before we name it? How would we know if what we pick is fitting if we don't know what that even is?" Robin asked. He almost immediately regretted his decision to ask that question, as in doing so he was actually taking this whole affair seriously.
Stop, Robin. Encouraging her will only make this worse. Stop it!
"Yeah, well, coming up with a good name is always the hardest part, so I like to get it out of the way first. After that the rest usually just falls into place. Most of the time," Cynthia snapped, jabbing a finger towards him "Now quit interrupting, I haven't finished thinking of names yet!
She paced the few steps, surveying the clearing as if searching for something. "Now I just need some inspiration...hmm... Maybe something like 'Triple Bane Star'- No, that's not good...
'Blazing Tri-Crusher'. Hrmmm, no, that's not right either…"
Cynthia trailed off, continuing to pace before turning back to them. "I guess we could something do to with light, because of Falchion's whole blue glowy thing. But then we'd just be repeating the theme from my and Lucina's team attack!"
"Well, Robin specializes in thunder magic, does he not?" Lucina offered, speaking up. "Perhaps we use something about 'lightning' in the name. That sounds fitting."
Robin shot a pleading look to Lucina, begging her not to give Cynthia more ideas.
If Lucina noticed his look, however, she showed no indication of it. "Hmmm, I know. We could do something akin to 'Triple Lightning-"
"Razor Lightning Trifecta!" Cynthia shouted, interrupting Lucina. She leapt forward, triumphantly pointing a finger skyward. She held the pose for a long moment, then abruptly let her arm drop. "No, no, no, that won't do! That would be great if it was just you two. But where's the stabbing part! Or the flying! I am not represented in the name!" she exclaimed, frustration spilling over into her voice.
"But if the name was for a move including only myself and Robin, would not 'trifecta' become quite the inapt descriptor?" Lucina asked.
"Not the point, Lucy! Think about the big picture! We need a name that involves all of us, or what's even the point?!" Cynthia shot back. She frowned deeper, stomping a foot into the dirt. "Man, this is a real puzzle. It was so much easier with just the two of us."
Wait did she just change the rules? Robin realized. He almost voiced that criticism, but thought better of it. Instead he just let his shoulder slump, wracking his brain for some way, any way, out of this situation.
You know, maybe helping will actually get this over with faster, Robin admitted begrudgingly. He frowned. Yeah… probably for the best come to think of it…
However, there was only one problem. Robin had zero confidence in his own ability to come up with names of the… particular nature that Lucina's younger sister was looking for. This would be the sort of thing Owain would be good at, which…
"If I may ask, why isn't Owain helping us with this? Isn't coming up with redicu-" Robin suggested, realizing the obvious solution at once. However he stopped himself mid sentence at that point, quickly correcting his statement to one that was more… diplomatic, to say the least. "Er, I mean, 'heroic' sounding names for special moves kind of his thing?"
"Pffft, as if I'd ask him for help," Cynthia answered, blowing out her breath in a huff through puffed cheeks. She crossed her arms, glaring off to the side angrily. "Stupid jerk killed me off! Without my permission! All so he could go on some crazy murder rampage! Can you believe that?"
"I…" Robin blinked, trying to process the contents of her rant. He pinched the bridge of his nose. "I don't even know where to start on this one. I… I want to ask, but my better judgement tells me not to…"
Robin sighed deeply, dragging a hand down from pinching his nose over the length of his face. "Okay, then? What about Morgan? I'd think she'd be good at this too if I were to be honest." He asked, hoping this time his suggestion would gain some traction. Anything to get this moving, even if it meant having to grapple with both his daughter and Cynthia at the same time.
"And she would certainly fit the family theme," Lucina added.
"Yeah, but I already came up with some moves with her last week," Cynthia answered. "Besides, this is meant to be a whole sibling and in-laws thing. Having my niece there muddies the waters too much. Besides, coming up with a name for three of us is hard enough and you want to add a fourth?
Gods, we are getting nowhere with this, Robin groaned inwardly. Perhaps there was someway to- Robin stopped, an idea occurring to him. Dammit, why hadn't he thought of this sooner.
"In that case, I think it sounds to me that you lack inspiration, Cynthia," Robin said, arching an eyebrow as he flashed a smug, knowing smile. He faltered for a moment, deciding to tone it back a little. Less smug. Better to not oversell it.
"What do you mean by that?" Cynthia asked incredulously.
"Well, do you know about the special moves used by past heroes? I believe it's only by studying them can you truly create a worthy name for a legendary technique of your own," Robin explained, trying his best the mimic the grandiose type speech Owain would use. Except, you know, more coherent and perhaps a tad more eloquently. "For example-" he turned to Lucina, shooting her another pleading look.
For a moment Lucina just stared at him. Then her eyes widened and she nodded swiftly, grasping what he was getting at. "Such as Triangle Attack!" Lucina exclaimed, turning to her sister. "You recall the stories mother would tell of the three pegasus knights who served King Marth and their special move! But are you aware of any others?"
"No, but…" Cynthia started to argue.
"Well then, how can we expect any name you come up with to match up? I think both Lucina and I would agree we need a name worthy of the heroes of old for a technique as grand as something the three of us could come up with," Robin told her. Lucina nodded too, showing her agreement with this statement.
For a moment Cynthia said nothing. Inwardly Robin began to pray, hoping beyond hope that Cynthia would take the bait.
"Oh my gosh, you're right! I've been going about this all wrong!" Cynthia gasped. She turned and hopped back and forward in place. "You know what, I'll be back! I need to go find mother's books! I bet those stories have something in there! Or maybe the library! Yes! I'll back back!"
Without waiting for a response, Cynthia ran off, vanishing beyond the treeline.
Robin sighed, slumping wearily to one side. "Gods, I didn't think that would work. But I guess it was worth the shot, huh."
"Certainly," Lucina agreed, smiling slightly as she added, "but you are aware that she will return? I don't think this is enough to let us off the hook indefinitely."
"Oh, I know. But it did buy us an hour of two." He sighed, shaking his head. "Come on."
"Huh? Where to?" Lucina asked, visibly perplexed at this.
"To do some reading of our own. I just realized if Cynthia realized neither of us know the names of other 'legendary moves', she is never going to let us live it down." Robin took his soon-to-be-wife's hand, squeezing it. "And since we are to be married, learning how to put up with your sister's eccentricities is something I certainly need to become accustomed to."
