Title: Robcina Week 2019 - Day 6: Hobbies

Description: It was rare for Lucina to have much time to herself. Though on the occasions she did she gladly used that time to pursue hobbies of her own.

Lucina smiled, turning the page of the book resting against her knees.

Sun streamed down from between the leaves of the tree Lucina was resting against, a gentle spring breeze washing over the hilltop to dance among the grass in the fields below. In the distance the faint scent of campfires wafted from where the Shepherds had set up their camp for the day.

A part of Lucina had felt rather guilty taking some time for herself like this, not when there was so much yet to do. But try as she might, no one had needed any assistance with their own chores and with her own assigned tasks for breaking camp long completed, she had found this quiet spot to read. Afterall, Robin always did say she needed to take more breaks as to not overexert herself. So while she did not entirely agree, in a moment such as this with no other pressing matters, Lucina saw no harm in following that suggestion.

"So, what are you reading?" A voice suddenly asked.

Lucina yelped in surprise, the book flying from her hands as she scrambled around. She went for Falchion, the blade propped against the tree next to her. She turned, managing to pull the sword several inches from the sheath before she stopped, seeing who it was who'd approached.

Robin stood on the other side of the tree, both hands up with palms outstretched, his expression apologetic. She hadn't even heard him approach, Lucina realized.

"Robin. I apologize, I did not see you there. You rather startled me," Lucina told him. The returned Falchion to it's sheath and leaned it back against the tree, her heart still racing. She cursed herself inwardly for her negligence, as while there was no harm in Robin or any other ally approaching her so, were it instead an enemy Lucina would have been left completely helpless. I was so enraptured by my reading that I left myself be caught unawares. Truly, I must be more diligent.

"No, the fault is mine, Lucina. I should have called out to you sooner. I didn't want to interrupt," Robin told her. He bent down, gingerly picking up her discarded book. He dusted off it's cover with the sleeve of his coat, raising an eyebrow as he read the title. "Mad Tales of a Bloodthirsty Falcon Knight… Volume twenty-three?" he asked, turning too her and offering the book to her. "Color me surprised, Lucina. I would have not expected you to share your mother's taste in reading material."

"Well, yes. I could see how it must seem strange," Lucina said, her cheeks flushing as she accepted the offered book. "Mother use to read to my when I was a child. After she was gone, one of the few things I had left of her were her books, so reading them became my way to feel close to her just as wielding Falchion made me feel close to Father." She blushed deeper, adding. "Though I must admit this series in particular is my favorite. This is not my first time reading through it.

"I see," Robin nodded, taking a seat against the tree next to her. "You know, your mother actually recommended that particular series. Even let me borrow her copies, though I'm afraid I've yet to make any headway with it. I did read the first few volumes after the war with Plegia, but recently with all the other things on my plate…" Robin trailed off, shrugging. "But with your endorsement, I probably should do better to find the time."

"Really!" Lucina exclaimed, sitting upright in excitement. "I truly believe you would love it, Robin. While the tale is perhaps grimmer than I'd usually be comfortable with, I found myself greatly relating to the story; heroine and her struggles to overcome her own darker nature and madness she was cursed with as a child. Oh, and the ending is just-" Lucina stopped herself, snapping a hand over her lips. "I apologize, Robin. I do not wish to give anything more away. You just truly must read it yourself and see."

"I'll, take your word for it, Lucina. And, if granted the time, I certainly will," Robin assured her. He placed his hand over her own, smiling. He chucked, drawing a look of confusion from Lucina.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh. I just… I am glad I got to see this side of you, Lucina. It's good to have hobbies like these. I look forward to finding more about your other interests and quirks as we continue to spend time together."

"Oh… and I look forward to learning the same of you, Robin," Lucina replied, briefly resting her head against his shoulder before asking. "So, if I may ask? Are there any books you yourself enjoy? I'd love learn more of your own preferred reading material."
