Title: Robcina Week Day 2 - Serenity

Description: It was rare to have moments like these, the fleeting times where all was peaceful and quiet. Lucina wished it could always be like this.

Only the occasional creak of shifting parchment or the scratching of a quill broke the silent, almost rhythmic in their repetition.

Even at such a late hour when most would be asleep or at least at leisure, Robin was still working, still drawing up battle plans and organizing logistics in what ought to have been a time to rest from such matters. Even now, in these brief moments, free of their respective duties, the two of them had to spend together as a couple, he would often still find ways to continue working. Always scratching away at the old leather-bound tome in which he transcribed his most pressing work.

Not that Lucina would ever begrudge him for this or ask that he change. For indeed, Robin's dutifulness was one of the many traits she so admired in him. He always worked so hard, did everything he could to keep everyone else safe. That selflessness, afterall, is what made it so easy to come to care for him.

What had made it so easy to fall in love with him.

She smiled contently, letting her head rest against his shoulder. She was at peace with this, content to spend whatever transient moments of peace and serenity allowed there at his side. As far as she was concerned, that was all she'd ever need. Just his company was enough.

That was perhaps the most surprising part. Never had she expected to find this upon coming to the past. This joy, this happiness, in discovering someone else who had become as dear to her as her father, mother, or sister. Perhaps, even, more so for them. For whenever she thought of those who she fought for, it was Robin who came foremost in her thoughts.

A soft noise somewhere between a murmur and a snore reminded her then that it was no longer just the two of them. Curled in their laps, head resting against Lucina's knee, lay Morgan, already fast asleep. Their daughter. Her daughter.

In the scant few weeks since they'd found her, it had been hard to fully grapple with being thrust into the role of parenthood. A new terrifying, exciting world neither she nor Robin had been prepared for nor yet fully adapted to. Yet even so, Morgan had so quickly become another precious part of their lives. Something dear to her that she wouldn't easily surrender now that she'd found it.

She ran a hand through the tangled mop that was Morgan's hair, combing away the loose blue strands from her face. She couldn't help but wonder at how quickly the girl, usually so bombastic and full of boundless energy, could fall asleep at what seemed the mere drop of a hat. Indeed, one moment she was excitedly talking to both her parents, the very next fast asleep. Perhaps it was all that energy that necessitated so much sleep. For no one seemed to possess so much energy, yet also spend so much time sleeping, as her daughter.

Her daughter. Just the thought still terrified and excited her. But so too did it feel so right. For even though she came from another world and time as then, Lucina felt the truth in her heart. Morgan belonged here, as vital a part of their lives as anyone. Just as she and Robin, despite their disparate times and worlds of origins, had found belonging in each other.

Morgan made a soft murmur, muttering something in her sleep that Lucina couldn't quite make out. The girl curled into a tighter ball, tucking closer to her parents. A cold wind blew through the cracks in the tent, Morgan shivering as it washed over them. She pulled even closer to them, searching for warmth to ward against the frigid northern air creeping in from outside.

Brushing her daughter's hair one final time, Lucina reached for a nearby blanket, moving slowly and purposefully so as to not jolt the girl away with the movement. Her fingers brushed past it several times before with a final stretch grasped hold of the edge, dragging it over and gently draping it around Morgan. At once she seemed to rest more peacefully, even as she slept a small tugging at the girl's lips.

Lucina smiled too, settling back down. It was then she noticed the absence of the scratching quill, the sudden silence the only warning before she felt lips press into her cheek. She flushed, embarrassed by the sudden move of affection from Robin. She felt her shoulders hunch up around her head- an involuntary reflex of attempting to hide her shame, even though she truly knew that no one else was there to see it.

Robin laughed, softly as to not wake Morgan. He set his book aside, wrapping an arm around Lucina's shoulders. Her flush deepened as he again came in for another kiss, though this time she managed to not instinctively shy away in embarrassment.

Instead she reached out, taking hold of Robin's free hand and pulling it close. She then countered the kiss with one of her own, letting it now be his turn to blush at the gesture. For a moment their eyes met and neither moved. Then Robin laughed, this time Lucina joining in.

"It's getting late, isn't it," Robin said softly. He wrapped his arm tighter around her, holding her close.

"Yes. We should get Morgan to be properly, and then get some rest ourselves," Lucina agreed. Even as she said it neither made any move, the two loath to follow their own words. The moment was still too precious to end so soon. Lucina wished it could always be like this. The three of them are there, as a family. The world locked in peace and serenity.

Perhaps one day, with the war and their duty done, it could be so. That was her greatest hope, her my precious dream.

A world of peace they could treasure together.
