Same Day: Knowhere
Outside: Space
Sombra's guards ships catch up with Pinkamena's pod as it slows down. Pinkamena's voice pleads to Maud, "Maud, please."
Inside: Pinkamena's Pod
Pinkamena continues to fly forward as she says to Maud, "If Sombra gets this stone-"
Inside: Maud's Ship
Maud is close to Pinkamena's pod. Her targeting system locks on Pinkamena's pod as Pinkamena's voice says, "-he'll kill us all."
Maud responds, "Not all."
Outside: Space
Pinkamena's pod slows down completely and stops as it doesn't work outside of Knowhere.
Inside: Maud's Ship
Maud's lips twitch as she glares at Pinkamena's pod. Smugly, she says, "You will already be dead." Maud blasts at Pinkamena's pod, and it blows up.
Outside: Space
As Pinkamena's pod explodes, Pinkamena flies forward, breaking the windshield glass. Sunset watches in shock, Twilight beside her pod, also watching in surprise, both leaving Pinkamena unconscious and floating in space with broken metal pieces from the pod around her.
The Orb floats with the metal pieces unharmed. A light shines on it, and the Orb beams up with Rainbow, who follows them and watches the Orb beam up to Maud's ship. Maud doesn't glance at Pinkamena as she flies away, with the guard's ships following her lead.
Knowhere: Street
Sombra drags an unconscious Applejack by the leg on the ground and then throws her into a tub of yellow liquid. She slowly goes down. Sombra watches the bubbles of air from Applejack in the water.
As Sombra's ship, which Maud is using, lands behind him, Maud's voice informs Sombra from inside the ship, "Sombra, it is done."
Space
Twilight, Rainbow, and Sunset watch Pinkamena's body float in the atmosphere with the broken metal pieces from her pod around her.
Rainbow's voice tells Twilight and Sunset through the radio, her tone sad, "Twilight, Sunset, come on. Her body mods should keep her alive a couple more minutes, but there's nothing we can do for her. These pods aren't meant to be out here. In a second, we're gonna be in the same boat." Rainbow turns her pod around and starts to leave.
Sunset stares at Pinkamena a second longer and then groans reluctantly, but her voice says determinedly, "I'm not letting her die." She leans back and taps the back of her left ear. She presses a button, and the side door opens. She steps out, activates her boots, and flies over to Pinkamena.
Rainbow hears a pod door open. She turns her pod a bit and sees Sunset come out, "Sunset?" Her eyes widened, "What you doing?!"
Twilight, watching Sunset with wide, shocked eyes, "Sunset, no!" Sunset ignores her and Rainow, continuing to fly over to Pinkamena.
Twilight narrows her eyes at her wife's actions and says reluctantly, "Aw, damn it!" She presses a button.
Rainbow turns around fully, questioning, "Twilight?"
Twilight reluctantly places a call, shouting to the speaker on the side to her right, "Tempest! Tempest. This is Twilight! My coordinates are 227K324."
Rainbow flies back over to Twilight's pod, "Twilight? Twilight, what are you doing?"
Twilight finishes a call, "Just outside Knowhere. If you're there, come get me." She looks out to see Sunset reaching Pinkamena, "I'm all yours." Twilight then taps the back of her right ear, and her mask materializes on.
Rainbow watches as Twilight's pod side door opens. She exits the pod, activating her boots momentarily to push herself towards Sunset and Pinkamena.
Rainbow's voice says to Twilight and Sunset, "Twilight, Sunset, don't be ridiculous." Sunset wraps her arms around Pinkamena, holding her, "Get back into your pods!" Twilight gets closer to the girls, "You can't fit three people in there. You're gonna die." Sunset holds Pinkamena's body, and she taps behind her left ear. Her helmet materializes away.
Sunset holds her breath as she takes off her earpiece and puts it on Pinkamena, activating it and waiting a second before she smiles faintly as she hears Pinkamena breathe.
Rainbow leans forward on the console, watching, and her voice says worriedly, "You'll die in seconds!" Twilight reaches the two women and quickly taps behind her ear, and her mask materializes away. Twilight holds her breath as she removes her earpiece, cutting off Rainbow, whose voice shouts, "Twilight!"
Twilight forcefully puts her earpiece behind Sunset's right ear while grabbing her waist before Sunset can protest. She breathes, turning her head to Twilight as she holds onto both women.
Just then, a light shines at them. The couple turns their heads to see Tempest's ship and the other Ravager's ships arrive. The main ship opens up at the side, and a colorful beam shoots out. It swirls around them and pulling Twilight, Pinkamena, and Sunset towards the ship before they die.
Inside: Tempest's Ship
After the beam pulls Twilight, Sunset, and Pinkamena toward the ship, they enter through the lower area of Tempest's ship.
The door opens, and the three roll inside. Sunset lets go of Pinkamena, and Pinkamena rolls away while Twilight still holds Sunset as they plop down on the floor.
Twilight lands on top of Sunset, taking deep breaths as she regains her breath but still holds herself up so she doesn't crush Sunset. The door closes back down.
Sunset looks at Twilight in disbelief and slaps her shoulder in frustration, "Why would you do that, Twi?"
Pinkamena, lying on her right side, facing the two, gains consciousness and calls out to the couple in confusion, "Twilight? Sunset? What happened?"
Twilight ignores Pinkamena and stares at Sunset, whispering softly, "I saw you out there." She's softly holding the side of Sunset's head, "I don't know what came over me, but I couldn't let you die." Sunset stares at her, touched, while Pinkamena stays quiet and watches the moment between the two wives. She listens, "I found something inside of myself. Something incredibly heroic." Sunset closes her eyes and breathes out, annoyed and looks at her blankly as the moment is ruined, "I mean, not to brag,-" Pinkamena closes her eyes and sighs deeply in frustration, "-but objectively-"
Pinkamena interrupts Twilight's dramatic-but-started-off-heroic-ended-terribly moment as she demands, "Where's the Orb?"
Sunset turns her head to the left to look at Pinkamena, "It's... well,-" She admits, "-they got the Orb."
Pinkamena's eyes widened in alarm, "What?" Just then, a door opened. The three looked and saw a group of Tempest's crew enter, pointing their guns at them.
Derpy pointed her gun at the couple, "Welcome home, Twilight, Sunset."
Knowhere: Street
Fluttershy drops Applejack on the ground after she saves her by pulling her out of the yellow liquid tub. Applejack is unconscious and not breathing. Fluttershy grows a thin stick on her pointer finger and stabs Applejack in the chest. A second later, Applejack spits out the yellow liquid from her lungs, coughing as she gasps deeply for air. Fluttershy takes her finger out.
Just then, Rainbow lands her pod roughly. The pod slides across the dirt and stops right in front of them. Fluttershy helps Applejack sit up, who watches the pod door open, and Rainbow climbs out.
Rainbow mutters about Twilight and Sunset, "Blasted idiots." She shouts, "They're all idiots!" She jumps down from the pod, "Twilight and Sunset just got themselves captured!" She shouts to Applejack as she points at her, "None of this ever would have happened if you didn't try to single-handedly take on a frickin' army!"
Applejack sighs and says quietly, "You're right." Rainbow looks at her, surprised. Applejack looks down sadly and shamefully, "I was a fool. All the anger, all the rage,-" She looks at Rainbow, "-was just to cover my loss." Fluttershy is sad and sympathetically puts a hand on Applejack's left shoulder to comfort her. Applejack looks down and sighs.
Rainbow looks at Applejack, shocked by the confession and sad, but it gets wiped away as Rainbow mocks Applejack, "Oh, boo-hoo-hoo." She fake weeps, "'My granny and my brother and my sister are dead.'" Fluttershy looks and gasps loudly as she covers her mouth with her hand in shock at Rainbow's callousness. Rainbow waves her off angrily, "Oh, I don't care if it's mean!" She looks at Applejack angrily, "Everybody's got dead people!" Applejack looks at her, "It's no excuse to get everybody else dead along the way!" Applejack looks back down, and Rainbow looks at Fluttershy and gestures to follow her, "Come on, Fluttershy. Sombra has the stone. The only chance we got is to get to the other side of the universe as fast as we can, and maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to live full lives before that whack-job ever gets there."
Fluttershy rises to her feet in defiance and says roughly, "I am Flutter."
Rainbow questions Fluttershy, "Save them? How?"
Fluttershy says almost unsurely, "I am Flutter."
Rainbow says, almost defeated, "I know they're the only friends that we ever had, but there's an army of Ravagers around them." Applejack sits up more, "And there's only two of us!"
Applejack rises and stands next to Fluttershy, "Three." She puts a hand on the back of Fluttershy's right shoulder.
Rainbow grunts in anger and frustration, turns around, and starts kicking the grass in the ground with her boots, "Aw!" She kicks the grass in frustration. Every pause in her words, she kicks the grass, "You're making... me... beat... up... grass!"
Space
The Dark Aster, Sombra's ship, slowly flies into space.
Inside: The Dark Aster
Sombra contacted King Andrias, whose hologram was on the wall, just showing his face with his helmet on. Sombra says, "The Orb is in my possession as I promised." Sombra stands in the middle with Chrysalis on his left and Maud on his right, but she is a few feet away.
Chrysalis raises her hand to show King Andrias the Orb in her hand. King Andrias demands, "Bring it to me."
Sombra turns and walks a few steps to Chrysalis as he says, "Yes, that was our agreement." Sombra stands in front of Chrysalis, hands her his hammer, and takes the Orb from Chrysalis, "Bring you the Orb, and you will destroy Equestria for me." He holds the Orb in his hands and walks back to the middle where he previously stood, "However, now that I know it contains an Infinity Stone, I wonder what use I have for you."
King Andrias voice says loudly, "Boy,-" Sombra starts to open the Orb, shaking as he struggles, "I would reconsider your current course."
Sombra rips open the Orb and looks inside as Chrysalis shouts, "Master! You cannot!" Sombra stares at the Infinity Stone inside the half he's holding. He's mesmerized. Chrysalis tells Sombra, "King Andrias is the most powerful being in the universe."
Staring at the Power Stone, Sombra replies darkly, "Not anymore."
Suddenly, Sombra grabs the Stone in his left hand, and immediately, it triggers an explosion on the ground at Sombra's feet as he arches his back and screams from the pain.
The Stone reacted the same way it had when Tiara, Zecora's now-dead servant, held it (From Chapter 15). Sparks flew out of the Stone. Sombra has more control as he absorbs the power.
Maud is not reacting, but calmly stares at Sombra as she tilts her head curiously at the reaction. Sombra straightens up and holds his hand out to Chrysalis, who, with slight fear, slowly hands Sombra his Warhammer. Sombra takes his hammer and immediately embeds the Infinity Stone on the side of his Warhammer.
