LOCATION: Police Headquarters - Hosu City (back in the world of academia)
Reiseina Otoko walked down the winding hall donning his prison uniform. His hands cuffed together in front of him, its chains rustling through each step he took. Two black suited officers flanked his sides, and a trio of guards trailed behind them at a respectful distance, weapons trained on him as they escorted him to their destination. They rounded a corner and advanced up some stairs until arriving at a white door lined with black trim. The two guards stepped aside and opened the door for Otoko, allowing him to enter.
Otoko entered the interrogation room. The floor was polished concrete and the walls were painted an ugly gray. A table sat at the room's center, and two chairs sat opposite each other across from it. One individual sat on the chair to the left, while the latter stood beside them. Otoko immediately recognized them as Present Mike and Eraser Head, one of Japan's famous superheroes.
Otoko looked over his shoulder as the officer closed the door behind him with a click. He shifted his gaze at an empty chair to his right, then glanced at the two heroes eyeing him suspiciously. He approached said chair and took a seat with a sigh. He looked around the room again, a grin gracing his lips, and hummed contently to himself. Silence reigned for a moment before Otoko redirected his gaze back at his interrogators.
"Quite a day, isn't it?" Otoko began, a grin gracing his lips. "Heroes fighting Villains—Villains fighting Heroes; how could anything else be more chaotic than that? And look what all that chaos has led to. Homes destroyed, the streets littered with rubble, citizens forced to leave the city or seek refuge behind the lock tight walls of U.A High. Such is life in Japan, I'm sure."
Otoko glanced up at his two interrogators. Eraser Head and Present Mike retained their cold stares, but he kept his smile plastered on. His eyes darted between each of them.
"So are you guys gonna explain to me why I'm here? Or are you two gonna continue glaring at me like I'm the most disgusting human being in the world?" Otoko asked, his tone lighthearted but still laced with humor.
Eraser Head leaned forward whilst resting his arms on the table and his fingers interlaced.
"Why did he hire you?" Present Mike asked bluntly, folding his arms.
Otoko's eyes darted to the side then back up at Present Mike.
"Can you be specific?" Otoko asked, smiling innocently.
"Why did All For One hire you to kill Midoriya Izuku?" Eraser Head demanded sternly.
Otoko chuckled and shook his head.
"He didn't hire me—he forced me to join his little club," Otoko explained. "I didn't even want to leave the prison, but he said that I would prove to be a final safe to catch the Heroes off guard. And everyone's reaction was evident when they watched that kid fall through the portal. And also, kill? No, no, no, I may be a villain—but I'm no killer."
Eraser Head and Present Mike's glares softened ever so slightly at hearing this.
"He is…alive?" Eraser Head asked tentatively.
Otoko snickered as if the question itself was silly.
"Uh, duh. Before the battle, All For One told me that if things go south in their mission, I'll be the one to spring the trap that'll kill the Midoriya Izuku. But really, I didn't want to kill the kid; killing is not really my style," Otoko said, shrugging. "So I just transported him into a random place where All For One can't find him."
Eraser Head arched a brow at Otoko.
"You mean you didn't put much thought on where you wanted to send him?" Eraser Head questioned.
Otoko chuckled a little whilst interlocking his fingers and leaning back.
"Honestly, I was drunk during the heat of battle," he answered honestly. "So, no. I didn't really plan that far ahead."
Eraser Head closed his eyes. Mixed emotions filled his heart and face. A semblance of hope blossomed inside him, with the foreknowledge that Midoriya wasn't dead. But at the same time, he couldn't let his guard down.
"How do we know you're not lying?" Eraser Head queried warily, narrowing his eyes at him.
"Simple, I can sense his life force," Otoko replied simply.
Present Mike raised a brow at him. "Life force? Is that how your quirk works?"
"Yup. It doesn't matter how far away the person is; if I concentrate enough, I can feel their life force six-hundred kilometers or more," Otoko informed them easily. "Hell, even if they were on the moon I'd still be able to sense them."
Eraser Head and Present Mike exchanged a glance. The pair stared back at each other as though they had the same thought, before shifting their gazes back at Otoko.
"Can you bring Midoriya back?" Eraser Head inquired.
Otoko grinned at EraserHead.
"I could… but under one condition," he offered. Eraser Head and Present Mike glared at him.
"If you're thinking about getting out of jail scot free then you can forget it." Present Mike pointed out.
Otoko laughed lightly.
"Get out Scot free? No, I'm not trying to leave prison," Otoko corrected him. The pair blinked, unsure of what he meant by that statement.
"You're not?" Eraser Head questioned skeptically.
"Nope!" Otoko confirmed cheerfully. "Don't get me wrong, freedom does sound tempting. But I'm more comfortable in jail than out, trust me. If you guys can change my cell up a bit by adding a nice carpet, nice furniture, a seventy inch plasma white screen tv, a refrigerator, and my own shower? Then I swear to you two here and now, that you won't EVER have to worry about me getting out. I'm a man of my word."
Eraser Head and Present Mike exchanged another confused glance. They couldn't believe what they were hearing. Not only was this villain uninterested in getting out of jail, but he had agreed to stay indefinitely in jail? And if that's not strange enough, he's willing to bring Midoriya back on the condition that they turn his prison cell into a small inside apartment.
As odd as it sounds, it didn't matter.
If it means they can get Midoriya back, there is nothing that would sway them otherwise.
"Done," Eraser Head stated firmly.
Otoko stood up from his chair and stepped up towards the room's wall. He raised his hands up briefly, until he lowered them back down. He looked at the two heroes over his shoulder.
"You might wanna make some room," Otoko warned.
After Eraser Head and Mike rearranged the chairs and table they watched Otoko raise his palms upward once more. He closed his eyes and concentrated, feeling the energy within him building up. The wind suddenly grew more ominous.
Orange particles begin to spark out and fly around in this contained windstorm, before a small red ball appears close to the wall. Shining bright for just a flash, the ball dulls to an almost black shade of color, as it rapidly expands in size. The ball transformed into a large, darkened red circle. The circular anomaly spins ever so slowly, small orange sparks fly out and dance around it.
Once it came into a complete spin, Otoko turned to face the pair.
"See. Easy." He gestured his hands toward the portal, a grin spreading across his lips as turned away from the pair and reached out. "Now, let's get your ki—"
Crackles of orange energy struck Otoko from his hands up to his arm. He shouted in pain, falling back onto his rear with a thud. Both Eraser Head and Present Mike rushed to Otoko's side as the latter slowly got up from the floor. Otoko sat on his rum, glancing up at the portal. Present Mike shifted his gaze back at the spinning anomaly with uncertainty.
"Um…is that supposed to happen?" Present Mike questioned tentatively, staring at the vortex.
"No…" Otoko muttered, his eyes never leaving the swirling portal. "Let me, uh, try that again."
Otoko got back on his feet and stepped close to the vortex. He extended his arms outward, plunging his hands slowly inside the vortex. The portal expanded further as he continued to plunge his hands into the portal. Crackles of orange energy shot out of the portal along with sparks, hitting Otoko on his arms, shoulders, and legs. The room quaked violently, causing the lights to flicker and the windows to rattle in their casements.
Otoko gritted his teeth against the pain of being struck repeatedly from multiple angles. Eventually, another orange lightning bolt struck Otoko's torso and flung him backwards. Eraser Head and Present Mike caught him just in time, the pair catching him by his arms. The trio watched in silence as the portal slowly began to shrink, returning to its original state before vanishing entirely.
The wind gave way to silence.
"Oh, boy…" Otoko quietly murmured. "Gentlemen."
Eraser Head and Present Mike shifted their gaze towards him.
"We might have a problem."
LOCATION: Musutafu - Midoriya Apartment
Rain poured down on the apartments of Musutafu. Tissue littered the bedroom floor as it had been for weeks past. Inko Midoriya laid on her bed with a heavy heart and tear streaked cheeks, still saddened over the shocking and sudden news of Izuku's disappearance. She had cried hard. She knew that All For One was an evil man, yet she had no idea that he was willing to go to such lengths to get the final laugh.
It crushed Inko without a shadow of a doubt. So much so that the others around her had to be the ones to take care of her during moments like this; returning all the love and kindness that she had showered them with to help her slowly accept the reality. A reality she's still trying to cope with.
She sniffled to herself quietly, and held a picture frame. Staring at the two smiling faces in the photograph, while wiping her tears away.
She stared at the smiling face of her dear Izuku.
