LOCATION: Beacon Academy – Ozpin's Office

Professor Ozpin remained poised at his desk. The soft hum of the hologram projector filled the air as he prepared for the impending meeting. His fingers gently cradled the warm mug, the aroma of his favorite brew wafting around him, a small comfort in the otherwise tense atmosphere. The room echoed with silence, but he knew that soon, the holographic images of his esteemed colleagues would flicker to life, bridging the distance that separated them.

As the projector whirred to life, the first hologram materialized, revealing James Ironwood, the formidable Headmaster of Atlas Academy. Dressed in a crisp white suit that hinted at his military background, Ironwood exuded authority. His dark blue eyes were sharp, scanning the room with a mixture of determination and concern. He had always been a man of action, and his presence was both reassuring and intimidating to those who served under him.

Leonardo Lionheart, the Headmaster of Haven Academy, stood confidently on the right. His tan skin was complemented by a mane of gray hair that framed his face, accentuating his dark brown eyes that held wisdom and authority. Clad in a distinguished brown greatcoat paired with a matching mantle, he exuded an air of sophistication. Beneath the coat, a crisp white dress shirt added a touch of elegance, while his dark brown slacks and polished dress shoes completed the ensemble. Notably, his Faunus heritage was evident, with features reminiscent of a lion; his beard and hair were styled to resemble a majestic mane, and a lion's tail swayed gently behind him, marking his unique identity among the academy's esteemed faculty.

Ozpin stared back at his colleagues. The Headmaster felt the weight of responsibility settle on his shoulders as they prepared to discuss matters that would shape the future of their institutions and the world beyond. With a deep breath, he steeled himself for the conversations ahead, knowing that the decisions made in this room would resonate far beyond their walls.

"Gentlemen." Ozpin greeted his fellow Headmasters with a nod, which they all returned in kind. "I trust you've received my report."

"We have," Ironwood replied.

"I have to say Oz… this is quite shocking news," Theodore said, rubbing his temples. "For years we've dreamt of a better world where the Grimm were finally no more, and the next generation of Huntsman and Huntress can safeguard Remnant better than those in the past. But never did I think I'd live to see that day when the Grimm would be entirely wiped out."

"Not all of them were wiped out, Theodore," Ozpin corrected.

"But still though!" Theodore insisted, staring wide-eyed at the headmaster. "This is remarkable news!"

"I've recently received a report from one of my men of an emerald light that phases past them, it eliminated all the nearby Grimm pools," Ironwood reported. "I found it too difficult to believe at first until I saw it myself from my ship's view. But as Theodore pointed out, you've shown us recordings of this 'Midoriya Izuku' fighting alongside your first-year students in the Emerald Forest."

"T-This boy…" Lionheart pulled up his scroll to look at the data again. "We've never seen anything like this before… The ability to create wind pressure from their fist and legs is one thing… but he was able to lift a Goliath in the air and send it flying with a kick! Are you certain he doesn't have a Semblance?!"

"I know it is difficult to believe, but I have seen it for myself," Ozpin told his colleagues. "One of my students, Pyrrha Nikos, attempted to unlock Izuku's Aura, and while she was successful in manifesting it, it caused an unexpected change reaction that originated that light we all witnessed yesterday. I have never seen anything like that before, and I believe this confirms the existence of worlds beyond our own."

"It would seem so," Theodore replied. "Tell me Oz, what do you make of the boy?"

"Based on my talks with him, Izuku is both compassionate and a brave young man," Ozpin began to explain. "Facing off against a large number of Grimm without losing his composure. He's also quite intelligent as he has displayed an ability to form complex battle plans in a few seconds, factoring in the best ways he can utilize the powers of allies and enemies alike for his advantage. Always seeking to help others and do what is right, often he does this on instinct, putting himself in peril to protect someone. Based on his interactions with the students, I believe he's also an emotional support, carrying a positive attitude and offering advice and consolation to those who need it."

"He sounds like a good kid," Ironwood commented. Ozpin nodded in agreement.

"Hmm.. Speed, strength, intelligence, and emotional support. Good thing he's on our side." Theodore muttered under his breath, looking rather impressed.

Theodore blinked when a terrifying realization dawned on him.

"D-Does the boy know about her?" Theodore stuttered, looking at Ozpin with uncertainty.

"No, I have not told him," Ozpin replied.

"Do you plan to?" Ironwood asked, arching a brow at him.

"Maybe… but not yet," Ozpin answered.

"But Ozpin, are you sure it's wise keeping Izuku in the dark about her?" The Headmaster of Shade asked. "Looking at these files he gave you, he's dealt with worse. If he knows, and with all of us working together, we might be able to finally get rid of her!"

"While I hold out hope for that, old friend… we have to remember that her greatest strength is not her power; but her cunning, her manipulation," Ozpin stated. "I don't know Mr Midoriya all that much to say for certain he can outwit her, which is why I have yet to tell him. Perhaps I may, but I need to see more of his inner character before I make that decision."

"I see…" Acknowledged Theodore.

Ironwood folded his arms on the screen.

"So, what do we do, then?" Ironwood asked.

"For the moment, Izuku is staying in Beacon Academy as my honored guest," Ozpin began, resting his mug on his office table. "No one but you two, me, Glynda, and all the teachers in the Academy knows it was Izuku that caused that Aura explosion. I'd like to keep it that way, I wish not to put pressure on the boy if the whole world learned of his unintentional involvement."

Ironwood nodded in understanding. "I suppose that is our best choice, then. If that is all, I'll be taking my leave."

"I-I'll be going too. I have some matters I must attend to." Lionheart stuttered slightly.

"As will I," Theodore added.

Ironwood, Theodore, and Lionheart's holograms vanished. Leaving Ozpin alone in his office once more.

Ozpin leaned back in his seat to take another sip from his mug.

LOCATION: Beacon Academy – Combat Classroom

Glynda Goodwitch observed the match in the combat classroom. The students took turns to spar against one another, be it one-on-one matches, team battles, or on the rare occasion of a team facing off against one opponent. Currently, it appears to be a one-on-one spar between Jaune Arc and Cardin Winchester. Unfortunately, the battle wasn't going in Jaune's favor; he was greatly exhausted and was just about ready to give out. Cardin on the other hand didn't seem to have even broken a sweat, evident by his chuckle as he held his mace, the Executioner, over his shoulder.

Jaune picked up Crocea Mors once again and charged Cardin with a battle cry. However, Cardin easily dodged the vertical slice to strike Jaune with his mace and send him flying across the ground. Though Jaune was quick to pick himself up, having dropped his shield to grip his sword with both hands and go on the attack again until Cardin blocked it rather easily.

"This is the part where you lose," Cardin told him.

"Over my dead—" Jaune was cut off when Cardin drove his knee into his gut, causing him to keel over. Cardin raised his mace to finish him off, but the sound of the buzzer stopped the match.

"That's enough." Glynda stepped forward, revealing the status of each combatant's aura via holographic screens above them. "Students, as you can see, Mr. Arc's aura has now dropped into the red. In a tournament-style duel, this would indicate that Jaune is no longer fit for battle and that the official may call the match."

Glynda shifted her gaze toward Jaune.

"Mr. Arc, it's been weeks now, please try to refer to your scroll during combat. Gauging your aura will help decide when it is appropriate to attack, or when it is better to move to a more defensive strategy."

Jaune sighed while glancing down at the floor. He spared a glance towards Pyrrha, as well as Team RWBY and Midoriya Izuku, who also attended the same class with the other students present. Izuku and Pyrrha looked the most concerned for him.

"We wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by a Beowolf now, would we?" Glynda told him.

"Speak for yourself," Cardin muttered, picking up the Executioner and proceeding to step off the arena.

"Remember everyone, the Vytal Festival is only a few months away." Glynda addressed the students again, this got all the students, especially Team RWBY, excited. "It won't be long before students from the other Kingdoms start arriving in Vale, so keep practicing. Those who choose to compete in the combat tournament will be representing all of Vale."

The bell then rang, signaling the end of the class and allowing the students to pick up and leave. All except Jaune who could only hang his head at his poor performance. He blinked when he saw a hand extended to him, causing him to raise his head slightly. His blue eyes met Midoriyas', who gave him a sympathetic smile.

Jaune accepted his hand and pulled himself up.

LOCATION: Beacon Academy – School Cafeteria

It was another day in Beacon Academy after the conclusion of classes. The cafeteria teemed with students who had congregated in groups and their conversations could be heard resonating throughout the room. Beacon students ranging from humans and Faunus were engaged in lively discussions and laughter while simultaneously partaking of their meals. The chefs were dutifully serving portions of food to each student who approached the line. Team RWBY and Team JNPR, along with Izuku all sat together for lunch in the cafeteria.

"There we were, in the middle of the night…!" Nora dramatically began her story, telling it to the rest of Team JNPR, Team RWBY, and Izuku.

"It was day." Ren corrected.

"We were surrounded by Ursai…!" Nora continued, with Yang listening intently; Blake seemed more interested in reading her book, Weiss was filing her nails and not even paying attention. Jaune didn't seem to be paying attention to anything, just depressingly picking at his food, much to the concern of Ruby, Izuku, and Pyrrha.

"They were Beowolves." Ren corrected once again.

"Dozens of them!" Nora exclaimed.

"Two of them," Ren said yet again.

"But they were no match! And in the end, Ren and I took them down and made a boatload of Lien selling Ursa-skinned rugs!" Nora finished proudly.

Ren sighed.

"She's been having this recurring dream for nearly a month now," Ren revealed, unamused by his friend's made-up story.

"Jaune… Are you okay?" Pyrrha tried to get his attention. It didn't seem to work at first, so she nudged his arm.

"Huh, what? Oh, yeah," Jaune replied. "Why?"

"It's just… that… you seem a little… not okay," Ruby said.

"You've been down ever since your battle with Cardin," Izuku added.

Jaune saw that nearly everyone around him was giving him concerned expressions, and he tried to put on a brave face.

"Guys, I'm fine. Seriously! Look!" He gave a thumbs up and a forced smile. None of them were convinced, or even the predecessors of One for All.

"You're not convincing anyone," Weiss said. "We all know that Cardin's been picking on you since the beginning."

"Huh? Cardin Winchester?" Jaune tried to divert it.

"Uh, duh," Nora replied.

"Nah, he just likes to mess around, ya know? Practical jokes." Jaune still tried to dodge it.

"He's a bully," Ruby said bluntly.

"Him and his whole team," Yang added.

"Oh, please. Name one time where he's 'bullied' me." Jaune said.

"He knocks down all your stuff when you pass by in the halls," Ren answered.

"There was also the time he put up your shield and got you stuck in the doorway," Nora answered.

"And that one time he shoved you into your locker and launched it." Even Yang added.

"Izuku had to run out and get you out of that," Ruby Recalled, jerking her head towards him.

"Jaune, you can ask us if you need help." Izuku offered. "That's what you do for your friends - looking out for each other."

"Guys, really! It's fine!" Jaune tried to insist. "Besides, it's not like he's only a jerk to me. He's a jerk to everyone."

"Ow! That hurts!"

They turned to see Cardin and his whole team harassing a female Faunus student with rabbit ears, pulling on them and laughing the whole time.

"Please, stop!" She pleaded.

"I told you guys it was real." Cardin laughed to his team.

Everyone watched the scene with disappointment and disgust. Even the predecessors of One for All glared at them from afar, specifically Cardin. Nana Shimura felt her blood boiling at the sight of the poor Faunus girl's rabbit ears being pulled mercilessly, and her gloved hands bawled tightly in fists. If looks could kill a person, Kudo and Bruce's narrowed gazes would've stopped the jock's heart. Yoichi's countenance was akin to that of an angry father, En and Hikage glared menacingly at the boy, Banjo punched his fist against his left palm and cracked his bones. And the ghost of Toshinori Yagi was livid.

Izuku glared at Cardin's mistreatment of the Faunus girl. The sight brought back terrible memories of his time with Bakugo, before he changed for the better, bullying him daily. If not him then he bullies other kids who couldn't fight back, due to how weak their quirks are compared to his. But things are different now. Izuku placed his utensils on the table and stood up. His sudden action prompted Ruby, Jaune, and Pyrrha to turn to him.

"Izuku, where are you going?" Ruby asked. Izuku didn't respond.

"Whoa, hey, Midoriya?" Jaune called, a bit puzzled.

Everyone watched Izuku march towards Cardin and the faunus girl. Ruby gasped in shock when Izuku firmly grasped Cardin's forearm. Cardin blinked in bewilderment and glanced up to meet Midoriya's piercing gaze.

"Why are you being so mean to her?" Izuku demanded, narrowing his eyes at Cardin. "Can't you see she's in pain?"

Cardin honored Izuku's demand with a smug smirk gracing his lips.

"Oh, I know you. You're that green-haired freak who helped out those losers over there," Cardin said, briefly glancing at Team RWBY and Team JNPR. "Look, I don't know what your deal is, but do me a solid, okay? Mind your own business and bugger off."

Izuku's glare slightly deepened.

"Not until you let her go," Izuku responded, tightening his grip on Cardin.

"What makes you think you can stand up for your little girlfriend?" Cardin retorted, his smug smile widening a little.

Izuku subconsciously utilized a small percentage of One for All through his fingers. He tightened said fingers slowly and an audible crack was heard from the metal plate Cardin wore on his arm. The large boy gasped in pain, finally loosening his grip on the girl's ears. The rabbit Faunus backed away from the pair, staring at Izuku in shock.

"Now, apologize to her for what you did," Izuku demanded.

Cardin scowled. "What?! Like I would apologize to that—"

Cardin paused for a moment. His mouth agape as he blinked before forming a mischievous grin on his face.

"Actually, I have a better idea," Cardin began, standing up to his full height in front of Midoriya. "Let's settle this in a duel, you and me."

Everyone except Izuku looked at Cardin questionably. Unsure as to why he decided to challenge Izuku so brazenly. Some of the students exchanged glances among themselves, as well as Team RWBY and Team JNPR.

"If I win, you'll have to admit that I'm the best, and you are a sore loser," Cardin stated cockily. Izuku narrowed his eyes at him with determination.

"Then if I win, not only will you apologize to her, but you'll owe me an explanation," Izuku returned.

Cardin chuckled humorlessly.

"Sounds easy enough." Cardin extended his hand. "So it's a deal then?"

Silence reigned around them as they both looked each other in the eye. They seemed ready to agree to such an unequal match that many were shocked to realize what was happening. Without taking his eyes off him, Izuku reached out and shook the boy's hand.

"Deal."

LOCATION: Beacon Academy – Amphitheater

Whispers circulated among the spectators. Many who had not witnessed the confrontation between Midoriya and Cardin Winchester speculated that the impending duel would be nothing more than a mere training exercise. Some believed it was a chance for the esteemed guest from Beacon Academy to showcase his skills against a group of inexperienced newcomers. However, a significant portion of the audience interpreted the confrontation as Midoriya's noble defense of Velvet Scarlatina's honor, while others dismissed him as just another overly sentimental individual coming to the aid of a Faunus girl.

Velvet was seated in the back of the bleachers, isolated from her team and engulfed in a wave of guilt and disappointment. She couldn't shake the feeling that she had let herself down by allowing a group of freshmen to bully her. The realization struck her hard: she had relied on Midoriya to rescue her instead of standing up for herself and confronting Winchester sooner. This internal struggle was compounded by her frustration over her teammates' absence during the incident, leaving her to face the situation alone.

As the atmosphere in the arena thickened with anticipation for the upcoming fight, Velvet's mind raced with thoughts of bravery and self-worth. She longed for the strength to fight her own battles, to be the one standing up for herself rather than waiting for someone else to intervene. The weight of her emotions pressed heavily on her, but deep down, she knew that this moment could be a turning point for her, a chance to redefine her narrative and reclaim her sense of agency in the face of adversity.

"Why is he doing this?" Asked Velvet, her tone laced with bewilderment and genuine concern.

"If you're worried about Midoriya, you need not be," Yatsuhashi reassured her. "I've seen the way he fights, and so far he's proven that he has more combat experience than possibly everyone at Beacon."

"If anything, we should be more worried about Winchester and his merry band of idiots," Coco countered. "That Midoriya guy got this in the bag."

"That reminds me," Velvet said, glancing at her teammates. "Is Cardin aware of how strong Izuku is?"

Fox silently replied by looking back at Velvet and shook his head.

"Which will make watching that jerk's defeat all the more satisfying," Coco added. Yatsuhashi nodded.

Velvet also nodded in agreement. Her expression transformed from worry to anger.

"So… where were you guys while I was getting my ear pulled off?" Velvet angrily rounded on Coco, Fox, and Yatsuhashi.

Each of them caught off guard by the changed tone of the rabbit Faunus.

Glynda Goodwitch stood waiting with Professor Ozpin. Glynda occupied herself by scrolling through her tablet, while Ozpin took a sip from his mug. His gaze focused on the stage where the upcoming battle will begin.

"You know, I'm surprised you had no reservations about setting him up with Team CRDL. 1st years, no less." Ozpin said, bringing his mug down to his side.

Glynda sighed.

"Mr. Midoriya was adamant that he wanted to defend Velvet's honor, and asked for my permission before doing so. So, I allowed it," Glynda stated.

"So, you're allowing him to discipline Team CRDL?" Ozpin asked, glancing at her with a raised brow.

Glynda glanced back at him.

"An example needs to be made, Professor," Glynda replied.

Ozpin nodded slowly before turning away.

"I see…"

LOCATION: Beacon Academy – Midoriya's Room

Midoriya Izuku adjusted his full gauntlet in place. He placed both his phone and his scroll on the bed, not wanting either of these devices to fall out of his pocket and break. Determination was written over his features as his eyes were still narrowed since his confrontation with Cardin. He rolled his body around and started toward his door, his gloved hand reaching for the knob. When Izuku pulled open the door, he found Blake Belladonna waiting for him in the hallway. His countenance softened upon seeing her.

"Oh, hey Blake," Izuku greeted, smiling at her.

"Hey," Blake returned.

Izuku looked from both sides. The Hallway was empty, confirming that it had just been Blake waiting for him.

"It's just me; Ruby, Yang, and Weiss are already at the amphitheater," Blake confirmed.

Izuku shifted his gaze back to her, opening his mouth to say something until Blake spoke again.

"I won't take too much of your time. I just need to talk to you," Blake stated simply. She looked worried and troubled, and Izuku could tell. "Three questions, and then I'll let you go."

Izuku's lips curled into a reassuring smile. "Okay."

Izuku closed the door behind him and turned back to face Blake.

"What do you know of the history of the Faunus?" Blake asked, looking at Izuku curiously.

"Well, I've learned that at some point in history, a village in Sanus fell under attack from the Creatures of Grimm, and its survival was thanks solely to the fact that Humans and Faunus worked together to defeat the invading Grimm," Izuku explained. "After the event, Humans grew to realize that Faunus were not that different from them after all. But instead of treating them equally, Humans used the Faunus' differences from them to exploit and continue to discriminate against them."

"After the end of the Great War, the Faunus were given equal rights and the continent of Menagerie as compensation for previous treatment. Some saw the gift of Menagerie as fair and just, while others saw it as a slap in the face. Over time, it became apparent that Humanity was adamant about centralizing all Faunus there as a form of segregation."

Blake nodded along. "What about the Faunus Rights Revolution?"

"From what I've read, Humans began countermanding the equal rights won by the Faunus in the Great War and attempted to confine all Faunus to Menagerie. The Faunus began to revolt against this," Izuku answered honestly, taking note of the slight change in Blake's expression at the mention of protests. "Given that Faunus live amongst the Humans in the present day, the Faunus were at least successful in both reclaiming their rights and preventing their confinement to Menagerie. While still being able to live anywhere on Remnant, including the four Kingdoms, there are Faunus who still live on Menagerie, seeing it as a safe haven. But despite whatever material gains the Faunus achieved during the revolution, they remain a subject of discrimination."

Blake paused.

"What are your thoughts?" Blake inquired.

Izuku glanced down at the floor.

"Honestly, I find people's treatment towards the Faunus to be unfair," Izuku answered. "Even if they look different appearance-wise, it doesn't give them the right to treat them that way. The Faunus are people too."

Izuku paused for a moment before quickly looking back at Blake.

"Blake, where are you going with this?" Izuku inquired, frowning slightly.

Blake glanced down at the carpeted floor.

"You really understand what the Faunus have to deal with?" Blake hopefully asked, lifting her head to meet Izuku's eyes.

Izuku nodded slowly.

Silence settled between them for a few moments until Izuku broke the silence.

"Can I ask you something?" Izuku asked hesitantly. At Blake's nod, he continued. "I'm just curious, how come you didn't try and stop Cardin's mistreatment towards that Faunus girl? I mean, she is a member of your kind, right?"

Blake was left gaping by Izuku's question before being rendered deflated.

"You knew..?" Blake questioned quietly, staring wide-eyed at him.

"I've known for a while," Izuku admitted with a soft chuckle.

She remained silent for a while, her gaze distant. Izuku gave her some time to gather her thoughts before she found her voice again.

"How?" Blake asked tentatively. Her voice was still hushed and filled with uncertainty.

Izuku pointed at his own eyes.

"Your eyes. They looked cat-like when I saw them for the first time," Izuku clarified, chuckling softly once more at the look of confusion plastered across Blake's face. "I'm not sure if Ruby or the others have noticed. If not, then I'm probably the only one. So yeah, I kinda had a feeling you were long before today."

"If you knew… why didn't you say anything…?" She asked meekly, trying to avoid his gaze.

"I thought It felt personal, and I didn't feel it was my place to pry open," Izuku answered.

Izuku blinked when a sudden realization struck him.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I should really go," Izuku said quickly, turning away to leave whilst glancing at Blake over his shoulder. "But hey, if you don't want to answer me now, you can tell me later."

Blake glanced down at the carpeted floor with a frown.

"I...I'm scared of being outed, that's why I didn't help her," Blake confessed aloud, causing Izuku to halt in his tracks. "I can't speak for everyone else that just sat by and did nothing but...but I'm not as brave as you and..."

Blake trailed off and glanced back down at the floor in shame. Silence stretched between them for a few seconds. Izuku didn't turn to face her, choosing to keep his focus forward.

"Back in my world, I have a friend named Kacchan. He used to bully me when we were kids, much to my chagrin," Izuku finally spoke. "I remember a time I caught him and his friends picking on a kid, one that he had hurt pretty badly. Despite the fear that surged through me, my body trembling, the tears close to spilling, I confronted them and stood my ground. I got beat up in the end, but I protected him, and that was worth everything."

Izuku glanced up at the ceiling.

"No matter how big or small the problem may be, I never allow my fear to overcome me—to do what is right," Izuku declared firmly. "Because if I stand by and watch an innocent person, whether they're being discriminated against or are about to be harmed by a villain while doing nothing. Then I can't call myself a hero. Just as you shouldn't call yourself a huntress if you watch people get hurt and do nothing."

Izuku glanced at Blake over his shoulder with a smile.

"It's okay to be scared, Blake. You just have to take a leap of faith, despite being afraid."

Blake's heart raced with a mix of admiration and confusion as she stood there. She had always been drawn to Izuku's genuine nature, and his ability to connect with others effortlessly. Watching him walk away, she reflected on the moments they had shared, each filled with laughter and understanding. Despite her insecurities and the secrets she kept hidden, Izuku's unwavering kindness made her feel seen and accepted. At that moment, she realized that perhaps she could trust him with more than just her friendship; maybe, just maybe, she could reveal the truth behind her bow and find solace in his acceptance.

A small smile graced Blake's lips.

LOCATION: Beacon Academy – Amphitheater

Ruby's heart raced as she continued to tap her fingers anxiously on her knees. The rhythmic sound echoed her inner turmoil. Her teammates were scattered across the bleachers, their conversations a distant hum, but Blake was nowhere to be seen, having slipped away shortly after the chaotic events in the dining hall. Ruby's gaze drifted toward Velvet, who sat confidently with her team, laughter, and camaraderie evident in their interactions.

Ruby closed her eyes. A wave of shame washed over her, grappling with the weight of her inaction. How could she aspire to be a Huntress, a protector of the innocent, when she had failed to stand up for someone in need? Izuku had acted without hesitation, demonstrating the very courage she admired, while she remained paralyzed by fear. Now, they all sat in anticipation, waiting for him to face off against Team CRDL. The air was thick with unspoken expectations and the realization that she needed to find her strength.

"You alright, sis?" Yang asked, patting her shoulder.

"Yeah, I'm just..." Ruby sighed. "I feel like we should've done something to help her as Izuku did. Anything."

Yang nodded in agreement. "Hey, next time we won't sit by and do nothing."

"Just so Izuku doesn't face his battles alone," Weiss stated, crossing her arms with a frown.

"Izuku is on his way..." Yang stifled a shriek when Blake suddenly appeared and announced her presence.

A hush fell over Team RWBY as Blake settled into the empty spot beside Yang. Their eyes darted towards the unexpected arrival. JNPR, seated closer to the arena, turned their heads in unison, curiosity piqued by the sudden shift in the atmosphere. The amphitheater, once buzzing with chatter, fell into a deep silence, broken only by the sound of purposeful footsteps echoing against the stone floor. Emerging from the shadows was Izuku, his dark green mask a striking contrast against the bright surroundings, the respirator snugly fitted to his face.

Ruby's gaze was fixated on him. Captivated by the mysterious aura he exuded, the shadows played tricks over his features, leaving only his vivid green irises visible. Yang observed him intently, noting the unshakeable confidence radiating from his stance as he navigated through the crowd, making his way toward Ozpin and Glynda. Despite the tension in the air, neither Team RWBY nor Team JNPR felt any concern for Izuku; their thoughts were more aligned with the looming presence of Cardin and his team. The atmosphere hinted at an unspoken understanding among them: it was Cardin who needed to be cautious.

After all, people like him who thrived on intimidation, were overdue for a reality check.

And Izuku was ready to deliver it.

Team CRDL stepped into the amphitheater to find Izuku waiting for them on stage. His lips curled to a smirk, thinking about the many ways he and his team would humiliate him in front of everyone. This was gonna be good. Walking across the assembly area towards professors Ozpin and Goodwitch, they saw the amount of people that had packed onto the bleachers.

"We're ready to fight, ma'am," Cardin said, smirking at her.

Glynda nodded.

"Then step up onto the stage," Glynda instructed.

Soon Izuku and Team CRDL were facing one another at opposite ends of the stage. Cardin, Russell, Sky, and Dove all looked eager with weapons held tightly in their hands. Izuku stood menacingly, both hands at his sides, and narrowing his determined-filled eyes at his opponents. Holographic Aura indicators floated above both ends of the stage, one displaying the meters for Team CRDL, while the other flashed green across Izuku's mask. The crowd shifted their gaze to Ozpin when he stepped forward.

"Good afternoon, students," Ozpin began, looking at every student. "Today, both parties have agreed that this would be the quickest way to resolve it. All of you present here will consider this your first lesson; a lesson in resolution."

"I trust all of you understand the basics of Aura, and for those who don't there will be a refresher course at a later date." Glynda turned to the stage, sparing Izuku a glance before proceeding forward. "The match ends when either party is unable to fight any longer. A ring-out will result in instant disqualification. Do you all understand?"

"Yes, ma'am!" Team CRDL chorused with straight postures and hands behind their backs.

"Yes, ma'am," Izuku replied, nodding his head.

"Very well," Glynda said, returning to Ozpin's side.

"GOOOOOOOO DEKU!" Ruby exclaimed, cheering for her friend.

"KICK THEIR BUTT, IZUKU!" Yang added, punching her fist in the air.

Nora chimed enthusiastically. "BREAK THEIR LEGS, BROCCOLI BOY! BREAK EM' REAAALLLLL GOOD!"

Izuku blinked in bewilderment.

Bro…Broccoli boy? Izuku thought.

Izuku glanced up at the bleachers. Ruby had somehow procured herself a green flag that had his hero mask on it, waving it enthusiastically. He couldn't help but smile at the sight, reminding him of Eri who did the same thing for him at a time when she watched him sparring with Bakugo. When the lights dimmed, the bleachers and the assembly area were shrouded in darkness save for the stage. Giving them the illusion that they were the only ones in the amphitheater, the tension building to a crescendo.

"Remember, kid." Kudo materialized beside Izuku, glaring at Team CRDL. "Don't drag the fight for too long. End it quickly."

'Yes, sir,' Izuku silently replied.

"BEGIN!" Glynda declared through a shout.

Cardin flashed his mace at Izuku and grinned. His teammates slowly moved to surround Izuku, their blades trained on him. But to everyone, including Team CRDL's puzzlement, the latter didn't move from his spot. He continued to stand there in his stance. Each CRDL member taunted him as they waited for him to make the first move.

"What's wrong, loser? You're just gonna stand there—menacingly?" Russell taunted, chuckling along with his teammates and leader.

"…" Izuku proceeded to narrow his gaze at them.

"You should've bugger off like I've told you to," Cardin said, proceeding to circle his target. "But that's okay, because I'm gonna take my sweet time with you, and win this with the crowd cheering my name."

Izuku closed his eyes.

"You're wrong," Izuku replied.

Team CRDL blinked blankly at him. Then, they all laughed at his reply. Laughing as if it was the funniest thing they had ever heard.

"Okay buddy, indulge me. How am I wrong, hm?" Cardin asked, looking at him smugly.

Izuku reopened his eyes.

"Because this battle was over before it began," Izuku answered.

Smokescreen erupted from Izuku's body and expanded outward. The purple smoke consumed the latter along with Team CRDL until it stopped at the precipice of the stage. The audience couldn't see what was going on, however, they could hear the sounds of blades and maces being swung through the air. Suddenly the three members of the party, Russel, Dove, and Sky screamed as they flew fast out of the smoke. Each of them indenting their backs hard on the walls in different directions of the amphitheater before they lose consciousness.

Everyone shifted their gaze back at the stage in time to see Cardin flying out of the smoke. He screamed when gravity wrenched him high in the air, and was followed by Izuku who sped past him. Izuku hovered above his opponent, discharging a tendril of Blackwhip that found purchase around Cardin's waist, and coiled around tightly.

"Delaware…" Izuku flicked his fingers.

Two air bullets shot forth and landed hard on Cardin's chest plate. Shattering it effortlessly on impact, sending pieces of metal flying. Pain exploded throughout Cardin's body as his eyes widened. He choked back a scream until he was suddenly pulled upward, speeding towards Izuku. Izuku descended towards Cardin whilst clamping his fist, anchoring his arm back, utilizing twenty percent of One for All in his fist.

"Detroit…" He swung away with incredible speed. "Smash!"

Izuku's fist collided with Cardin's cheek. The jock screamed silently, feeling wave after wave of pain like he had never felt before. His eyes rolled back behind his head before being propelled back down on the stage's floor. The impact was enough to break Cardin's aura, erupting a shockwave of wind pressure that caused the amphitheater to quake. The wind whipped wildly in the air, causing everyone to shield themselves with their arms.

The wind pressure gave way to silence.

WINNER:

MIDORIYA IZUKU

The lights came back on to reveal Cardin sprawled on the ruined stage's floor. He lay unconscious in a big crater, his right hand and left leg twitching. Ozpin appeared indifferent, even taking another sip of coffee. Glynda, on the other hand, was genuinely shocked. Izuku gracefully landed back on the floor next to Cardin, letting out a collective sigh. He briefly stared down at the jock's state before glancing up at Ozpin and Glynda.

Izuku paused upon seeing something.

Outside of the amphitheater's doorway, Izuku saw the silhouette of a girl. Motionless while leaning against the staff she used to keep her balance upright. Her chest rose and fell as she breathed heavily.

She had a light brown complexion, with shoulder-length, straight brown hair. She had a beauty mark below her left eye. She wore a top of an off-white blouse with frill detailing on the shoulders, pleated lower half with a central split, alongside a brown vest that had three straps and golden lining around the collar. She had a dark brown corset with matching pants, as well as a pair of brown thigh-high boots with large cuffs and golden armor plating covering the boots up to her knees.

She also had an amber pendant on her vest, a gold bracer on her left arm, and two gold bracelets on her right wrist. Finally, she had a golden spaulder on her right shoulder as well as a brown shoulder strap with some pouches slung diagonally across her body.

The mysterious woman's eyes flickered. Her vision began to blur and she promptly fell to the floor, unconscious. Izuku immediately started forward, jumped off the stage, and sprinted towards the girl. Once he made it to her side, he crouched down and took her in his arms. The beacon students, as well as Team RWBY and Team JNPR, were watching the pair from below. The two parties exchanged glances with puzzlement written over their features.

Izuku glanced up at Ozpin and Glynda while parting his lips to say something. However, he blinked in surprise when he saw the pair staring down at the woman with wide eyes.

"Oh my god…" Glynda breathed softly, her hand raised close to her jawline.

Izuku shifted his gaze back down at the girl in his arms.

Staring at her in wonderment.

A/N: Well, there you have it young readers. Hope you all enjoyed today's fourteenth chapter! The fall maiden: Amber has made her appearance for all to see, much to the shock for both Ozpin and Glynda. Izuku will definitely have some questions about her, as well as Team RWBY and Team JNPR. I'm not gonna lie though, I've thought up so many ways how I wanted Deku and Cardin's fight to play out in that one section. But due to how strong our boy is, I thought it wouldn't be right if I dragged the fight for too long - so this should suffice. I'd also like to say that I don't think it's necessary for Izuku to have a semblance on top of all the quirks that he has in his arsenal; he's already powerful enough, and his Super Aura is enough of a boost.

Next chapter will feature Amber's brief POV before encountering everyone in the amphitheater. Izuku learning her identity, and the reveal of the second arc of this story. With all of that said, I'll be taking my leave.

See you all in the next chapter, young readers!
