The next day, Charlotte came by to pick up Tommy with Angelica in the front seat next to her.

"Mommy, why do we have to invite Tommy to come over to our house?" Angelica asked.

"We already told you, Angelica. You should know the answer by now. When we have Tommy over, you be nice. We don't want another accident with him just having this one."

"Yes, Mommy."

"You wait here in the car while I get Tommy."

Angelica didn't complain, so she let Charlotte do what she needed to.

It didn't take long to have Charlotte return to the car with Tommy. Dil helped Tommy get into the backseat.

"See you soon, Tommy."

"All right, Dil. Going to miss you."

"Same with us."

Dil didn't say anything to Angelica as he helped his older brother.

Angelica didn't care much for her younger cousin either, but treats Dil the same as she does with Tommy and his friends.

"Are you ready, Tommy?" Charlotte asked.

"I guess so. You'll have to show me where I'm sleeping while I'm at your place."

"We will, but it's definitely not Angelica's room. I think you should be downstairs since Didi and Stu said something about not being able to go upstairs quite yet."

Good thing Charlotte remembered that.

"Where is Uncle Drew?" Tommy asked as they left his house.

"He's at home, doing some laundry. He's looking forward to seeing you, but not in this way. How much longer are you out of school?" Charlotte asked.

"For a while. I don't know what the doctor told Mom and Dad. I want to go back now so I won't have to be on the couch."

Charlotte understood.

"This has never happened me either, Tommy. I know you don't need to hear any stories about broken bones."

"No, I don't care about those because they're not exciting."

Angelica agreed.

"He's right, Mommy."

"Of course he is. We know we want him to get better sooner rather than later, don't we?"

"Yes."

"Then let's get to the house and see if Drew helped finish the rest of the guest room you'll be staying in, Tommy."

"Okay. Just happy I got off the couch for a while. I need to stretch my legs, or should I say leg," Tommy corrected himself.

Angelica looked at Tommy in the backseat. She wanted to whisper something to him, but didn't want Charlotte to hear what she had to say to Tommy, but that can wait until later when Charlotte or Drew aren't around to hear anything between her and Tommy.

Angelica couldn't think of anything to say to Tommy right now since there wasn't anything they both could talk about for now, but maybe later.

"Angelica, my other friends know I'm staying with you for a while, so Chuckie's still going to come over and give me homework I missed out on."

"All right, Tommy. Chuckie can stay for a while, but not very long," Angelica told him.

"Angelica, that's not nice," Charlotte told her, "but Chuckie can stay as long as he wants."

"See, Angelica? Even Aunt Charlotte thinks so."

"Mommy, I can tell Tommy that if I want to."

"But you still have to be nice," Charlotte kept saying.

"Angelica, can't you try that for at least once?" Tommy asked.

"Maybe, and maybe not. You'll find out when I will be nice."

"ANGELICA!"

Tommy was happy that Charlotte didn't have to yell at him like that. It's not often he hears it from Didi and Stu.

Tommy hasn't missed his family quite yet since he just got into the backseat, so it's too soon to tell, but would miss Dil the most.

They finally made it to the driveway at Angelica's house. Since Tommy hasn't opened the car door, Angelica had to help Charlotte by bringing Tommy's bag while Tommy had Charlotte with him, which he did appreciate.

"Thank you for letting me stay here for a while," Tommy said.

"It's a nice change from your couch," Angelica told him.

"True. I guess the means I'll have to stay on your couch, Angelica."

"Yes, but Stu did tell us you're now able to sleep in the bedroom since that's what the doctor told them," Charlotte said.

"The only thing I want to do now is go back to school and see my friends again, and that's all I care about."

"You should be able to go back soon, I hope," Charlotte replied.

"As long as I can get better fast enough."

"That's all we care about too."

Drew opened the front door for them.

"How are you doing, Tommy?" he asked.

"Sick and tired of being on the couch. I can tell you that," Tommy answered.

"Drew, I was telling Tommy he doesn't have to hear any stories about broken legs."

"Charlotte's right, Tommy. If I was you, I would get bored on being with the couch for a long period of time."

"You look like the type who can stay on the couch for a while just like Dad. He'd rather move around. Wish I could."

"I'll show you where your room is going to be while you're here with us," Drew said., changing the subject.

"Good thing I can finally sleep in bed for once. Chuckie's going to come by with my homework since I'm not going to be at school."

"Chuckie's always welcome to stay."

"I told Tommy he can't stay too long."

"Angelica, that's not nice to say anything about one of your friends about one of your friends."

"I can say that if I want to, Daddy. Mommy didn't like that," Angelica replied as she brought Tommy's suitcase into the bedroom.

"One day at a time, Tommy, and you will be able to do what you used to."

"I've been hoping and praying about it for a long time, let me tell you. Don't you hate it when you're bored?" Tommy asked.

"Sometimes, but we can see each other whenever we want," Drew answered as he opened Tommy's suitcase so he could unpack for himself.

Angelica wasn't there to anymore to help Drew unpack Tommy's suitcase.

"Is there anything you want to eat or drink while I'm still up?"

"Only ice water and a candy bar," Tommy answered.

"Must be a while since you had something to eat and drink."

"Of course, Uncle Drew. That's why I asked for some."

Drew headed into the kitchen where both Charlotte and Angelica were hanging out.

"How is Tommy?" Charlotte asked.

"Bored, thirsty, and hungry all at the same time. I'm giving Tommy a Hershey bar."

"I want one, Daddy. I'll trade with Tommy."

Angelica's favorite junk food happens to be chocolate chip cookies, but she'll eat other sweets. She didn't bother giving Tommy his ice water and candy bar that he asked for. He doesn't eat junk food as often as she does.

"I want a candy bar too, Daddy. Tommy can't have any."

"Angelica, you have to be nice," Charlotte repeated.

"That's not for you. You don't have to treat Tommy this way."

"ANGELICA!" Drew heard Charlotte yell.

"I wonder what Angelica wants."

"She wanted the candy bar you have."

"She eats too much junk food. Maybe you should give her something that's not."

"That's hard to do, Tommy. All she does is think about herself half of the time."

"Isn't that the truth," Tommy agreed.

"Let us know when you want something else."

"You will know."

Now it's time to be bored.
