Tarryn meets Ciel. Credit goes to Rebecca Yarros for making such an amazing series and all the characters in that series belong to her.

Tarryn's POV

I followed Sebastian through the halls of the manor. Seeing it in real life was extraordinary and I hoped to see more of it later. Sebastian came to a stop outside of Ciel's study, and after knocking, the butler opened the door, and I entered.

"I am pleased to see your awake"

Ciel Phantomhive was freaking adorable. He reminded me of my little brother back home.

"You have my thanks for your hospitality my lord"

I then gave him a curtsy, which felt ridiculous, but what the hell. The young earl nodded at one of the seats in front of his desk and I sat down in one.

"My lord, this is Lady Tarryn McKenzie," Sebastian stated, making the introductions.

"You can drop the formality, butler," I growled at Sebastian. "I am not of noble blood"

My comment made Ciel smirk and Sebastian looked a tad bit annoyed.

"Would you prefer to be called Tarryn?" Ciel inquired.

"Yes if that's alright my lord, and I'm sure you have questions"

"Many but I sense your not a threat"

He is indeed adorable

Oh shut it

"Is everything alright? You looked off there for a moment Tarryn"

"My apologies but my dragon was speaking to me"

This got Sebastian and Ciel's interest.

"All shifters can communicate with their animal half; both beings need the other to survive," I explained. "So if you ever see my eyes change it means my dragon half is in control and not to embarrass you my lord but she finds you adorable"

Sebastian did his best not to chuckle while Ciel blushed. I then changed the subject. The first to be brought up was where I was from. In my time, it was 2025, and I lived in the state of Georgia. My profession was a jeweler. For as long as I can remember, I always had a fascination with gems and jewelry.

So, after graduating from high school, I went to college and earned my degree in my field. I then secured a well-paying job doing what I loved. If someone wanted a custom-made ring, I could do it.

If a piece of jewelry needed repairing it could be done. As for my family, it consisted of my loving parents and little brother. I had been adopted as an infant and brought to the United States shortly after my birth. My birth mother was Scottish while my birth father was American. From what I learned, both of them were very young and not ready to be parents.

But they loved me enough to give me to a family who could give me a good life.

My birth parents, along with my adopted parents, were all dragon shifters. My brother was half-dragon shifter and half-human. He was the one who had introduced me to Black Butler while he endured chemotherapy. I didn't mind anime but I wasn't a huge nerd like Theo was. Now, mind you, I didn't tell Ciel and Sebastian what time I was from or that they were part of a fictional story just yet.

I just wanted them to know my background.

"You speak of this Theo as though he's important to you"

I smiled at Ciel.

"He's my little brother and unfortunately he's suffering from cancer"

Dragon shifters were immune from most lethal human diseases, but since Theo is half-human, he was diagnosed with it.

"I'm sorry to hear that" Ciel stated.

"Is there any chance of him recovering?" Sebastian wondered.

"I don't know"

Back home, every treatment given to Theo either worked for a while, or his body rejected it. Sebastian decided to change the subject.

"Whatever you had in your bag Ms. McKenzie was quite heavy"

"I have a lot of stuff in there and I ask for both of you to hear me out"

"I'm all ears though I can't say the same for Sebastian"

The demon sighed and shook his head.

"I'm only saying this because you'll probably think I'm crazy but I can prove it"

Then I told them everything else. That I was really from the year 2025, how they were fictional characters from an anime, things I knew that were yet to happen. Ciel, of course, looked skeptical, which was understandable, and Sebastian seemed to be listening closely. I opened my bag and pulled out my still-working iPhone.

"What the devil is that?" Ciel questioned eying the electronic device.

"You have phones here, right? Well in 2025 most people have cell phones, this is called an I-Phone, They do other things alongside making calls"

Sebastian was immediately at my side and was very interested in my phone.

"Forget it, butler. I'm not letting you touch my phone," I growled. "This damn thing cost me $500 in the States"

"Sebastian give her some space" Ciel ordered.

With a disappointed look, the demon backed away. I then showed both Ciel and Sebastian how my phone worked. Next, I pulled up one of the apps that had some shows downloaded one of which was Black Butler. I chose the first episode before having it play and let Ciel watch it.

Ciel's facial expressions as he watched himself was funny. He would either say something silly or frown. But I could tell he believed me and Sebastian seemed to as well.

"So what exactly is this genre of program called?"

"It's called anime; all of them originate from Japan," I explained as Ciel returned my phone.

"And you know what will happen in our future according to this anime of yours?" Sebastian pried.

The damn butler was smirking!

"I think we should ignore what has yet to transpire," Ciel interrupted, getting our attention. He then turned to me. "Do you know who killed my parents?"

"I do" I confirmed. "I will tell you who is responsible if you want"

Ciel was caught off guard by my offer. Here I was a stranger from another reality who just proved he was a fictional character and yet offered something he wanted to know. The earl thought of my offer but decided on something else.

"I thank you for your offer Tarryn, but I wish to learn who it is on my terms"

"Understandable"

"What else do you have hiding in there?"

Sebastian was getting on my nerves now and I shot him a glare. But to amuse him I dug out three books that were my favorites. I handed the first one to the demon and let him look at it.

"Fourth Wing?"

"It's called the Empyrean series" I began. "It's about humans wanting to be dragon riders, you'll see the year it's published as further prove I'm from the 21st century"

Sebastian opened the book and found the page I was referring to.

"How very fascinating"

"This is quite the big book"

I panicked when I saw Ciel had "Iron Flame". With a quick apology, I took the book from him.

"My apologies my lord but this series is way out of your age range"

"She's right, my lord, it is" Sebastian backed me up.

But instead of getting offended Ciel chuckled.

He liked seeing you get wound up my dragon teased.

I rolled my eyes at my other half.

"What did your beast have to say now?" Ciel quizzed me.

I told him what she said and Ciel smirked.

"I like your other half"

He then looked at Sebastian.

"Sebastian give the book back to Tarryn"

The butler obeyed and returned Fourth Wing to me.

"You have no idea how you came to be here I'm assuming"

"That is correct" I replied to Ciel.

"You have a great value of information and since you don't know how and when you'll return to your time and reality, I would like for you to be my guest here"

This made me widen my eyes.

"What is it you want in return? Nothing comes without a price my lord"

"If your willing I would like it if you joined my staff, more like a second command behind Sebastian, I can tell you're a woman who knows hard work"

His comment made me smirk in return.

"I do work hard my lord but mind you I am just a jeweler, but that doesn't mean I can't wield a weapon or two"

I informed the earl and butler that crossbows and firearms were my preferred weaponry of choice. And I also added that I was familiar with gardening due to my father owning a nursery.

I then added I was aware of the other's hidden talents. Referring to Mey-Rin, Bard, Finny, and Tanaka.

"Any accidents today? Don't think I'm not aware of Mey-Rin, Bard, and Finny screwing things up"

"Not yet, thankfully," Sebastian answered with a sigh of relief.

"There is only one thing I want to keep if it's okay"

This question was directed at Ciel.

"I wish to keep the room I've been using, since I am a dragon the last thing Mey-Rin needs is to learn of my bloodline and if I get exposed, Sebastian may as well"

"That I can work with, and know you are safe here Tarryn"

I chuckled at Ciel's words.

"I may be a woman my lord but I am more than capable of protecting myself, I am a being fire"

I then pointed at Sebastian with my thumb.

"As he is one hell of a butler"

"I am indeed my lady" Sebastian agreed.

"Shut it with the titles, demon," I growled.

Ciel only snorted before welcoming me into his household.
