Tarryn's POV

"The Gauntlet sounds terrifying," Ciel said.

"It is" I agreed with the young earl. "If I was human I would fail it no doubt"

I told more of Fourth Wing to him while Sebastian drove the carriage. As the sights of Victorian London came into view I found myself staring out the window.

"You look rather excited" Ciel teased.

"You can't exactly blame me, remember I am from another time" I reminded him. "Queen Victoria is the second longest reigning monarch in England"

Now Ciel looked intrigued.

"And who's the first?"

"One of your current monarch's descendants, her name was Queen Elizabeth II, and she reigned for seventy years"

"Blimey"

"What I don't like about this time period is the damned corsets" I growled.

"You'll get used to them" Ciel stated just as the carriage came to a stop.

"We're here my lord"

Ciel nodded, and after getting out of the carriage first, I followed, and Sebastian decided it was a good idea to help me out of said transportation. I was about to scold the demonic butler, but seeing where we were made me stop.

Well, well, well my dragon teased as I recognized the Undertaker's Funeral Parlor.

"The man who runs this place has been an informant in my family for a long time," Ciel explained. "Scotland Yard won't give up any details about the recent murders so Undertaker will have the information we need"

"Be wary though, my lady. He's a bit odd," Sebastian warned as he opened the door to the parlor.

It was dark inside, and as expected, many coffins lay about. Due to the dark, I let my dragon sight take over.

"I see you brought someone new with you, my lord"

The coffin behind me opened and I let out a stream of profanities as the infamous Undertaker grinned back at us.

"Try not to give my latest employee a fright, Undertaker," Ciel reprimanded the mortician.

The former grim reaper chuckled before exiting his coffin.

"I had a feeling you would be stopping by my lord, with all the new murders going on and all"

"We suspect vampires" Sebastian went on. "And I'm sure you must have had customers without their blood"

Undertaker tilted his head to the side.

"My lord, Tarryn, perhaps you should wait outside" Sebastian suggested.

"Hell no butler"

"Ooh, got a joke for me, young dragon?"

I wasn't surprised the Grim Reaper knew what I was.

"Well I know a few I just hope you find some of them funny, Sebastian cover up our master's ears please"

"As you wish"

Once Ciel's ears were covered I took a breath and told Undertaker a joke that was my personal favorite. And mind you, it was dirty, hence why Ciel's ears had to be covered. While he didn't laugh hard when Sebastian told him the jokes, Undertaker cackled so mission successful.

The Grim Reaper then had us follow him, and outside his office in a newly made coffin was one of the victims. The poor bastard was pale as all got out, and I winced at seeing the signature fangs from the man's mouth. The dead vampire was covered from his torso all the way to his feet.

"This bloke was newly turned" Undertaker explained. "I was his intended target and thus I staked him through the heart"

"Smart move; some vampires can only be paralyzed that way," I praised the silverette. He gave me his signature grin.

"Do you have any idea who the vampire might be?" Ciel inquired.

"Alas, my lord, I do not," Undertaker replied. "But make no mistake there will be more newly turned vampires if the one siring them isn't stopped, now a stake through the heart is one way to kill them, anything made of silver will do as well"

"And sunlight" Sebastian pointed out.

"Perhaps the young dragoness could also use her dragon fire as well"

"She could be seen" Ciel countered.

"Only other supernaturals can see my true form, my lord," I explained to Ciel. "Or those who are connected with a supernatural like you are with Sebastian"

"So like a glamour then?" Ciel asked.

"Indeed my lord"

"Well you two seem to have a valuable ally to aid in your missions for the Queen in the future, it's been a decade since I last crossed paths with a dragon shifter"

"I hope to make you laugh more down the road"

"That my dear I look forward to"

Back at the Townhouse

"It will be night soon," Ciel told me and Sebastian, looking out the window. "Tonight will be the last night this vampire will feed"

"London is quite large, my lord," Sebastian pointed out. "Finding one vampire will prove difficult"

I snorted at this and Sebastian looked at me with a look of disapproval.

"If anyone can locate a vampire it's the one hell of a butler"

Then the damned demon turned the tables.

"Vampires also have a liking for young ladies"

And children my dragon reminded me. I have an idea

And my inner beast told me her suggestion.

"What did your other half say?" Ciel inquired.

"She suggested drawing out the bloodsucker" I answered. "By being bait, and Sebastian does have a point vampires especially males like to feed from younger women, so I'll fill that role"

"What else?" Sebastian pushed.

I shot Ciel a look and it took him seconds to figure it out.

"Very well," Ciel agreed, keeping his composure. "Tarryn you will be with me for this ruse"

The young Earl then looked to his butler.

"In the meantime, Sebastian be looking elsewhere in case we don't attract the vampire's attention, kill any newly turned ones as well"

Sebastian smirked and placed his gloved hand on top of his chest before bowing.

"As you command my young Lord"

Nightfall

"I'm going to kick your butler's ass" I growled at Ciel.

The preteen and I were casually walking around the dark streets of London dressed in our disguises. Ciel was dressed as a regular child of twelve and innocent-looking. But as for me, Sebastian decided a revealing dress was ideal. The front of the dress gave a good view of my cleavage which pissed me off.

Ciel chuckled before suddenly stopping. Immediately my dragon and I were alert because the Earl and I were no longer alone.

"Quite late for a stroll isn't it?"

A man emerged from the shadows, and he seemed harmless but looks could be deceiving.

"I'm taking my son home," I addressed the gentleman, and I drew Ciel closer to me.

"Perhaps I could escort you to your humble abode" the man offered.

"We're fine thank you"

The man then suddenly grinned and the gleam of sharp fangs became visible. Suddenly, another vampire ambushed me and Ciel, causing us to get separated. I was pinned to the closet wall by the vampire who minded his manners. Ciel was doing his best to keep the vampire attacking at bay.

"Before I feed from you darling, I'll let my pet deal with your brat"

A loud bang rang out in the night and this distracted my captor long enough to release his grip on me. I then drew out a stake and well staked him in the heart. The vampire who tried to feed Ciel was dead thanks to a silver bullet from his hidden firearm. Blood pooled from the lifeless corpse and I gave it a kick.

"Nice shot" I praised Ciel.

Ciel flashed me a smirk before suddenly raising his gun again, and immediately, I pulled out a crossbow already loaded with silver bolts. We were suddenly outnumbered by six other vampires and the one closest to the one I staked removed the damn thing from its companion.

"So you're the Queen's Guard Dog? Who would have known?" the leader taunted, standing up. "Perhaps I should introduce myself, my name is Bran and this is my coven"

"So you and your coven are behind the turnings" Ciel spat.

"We're only passing through" the woman closest to Bran countered. "And we feed when we wish"

"Your siring too many" I added. "Because of your unwillingness to guide your newly turned their thirst for blood will never stop"

"We never had interest in siring and we could care less about who we feed"

Now I was getting mad. These vampires were the definition of psychotic.

"You two will be an excellent meal before we part ways from England," Bran said with a smirk.

Ciel then laughed.

"You lot are fools I'm afraid I would have to disagree with your plot"

The Earl then looked at me.

"Are you sure my lord?"

"Show them what you truly are Tarryn"

With a wicked grin, I set my crossbow down and shifted. The vampire's eyes went wide as I stood in my true form, and smoke emitted from my nose. Mind you where we were was large enough for me to stand as a dragon. I was worried I would have destroyed a house or two.

Suddenly, three of Bran's companions bolted, and I hissed out my dragon fire. The bloodsuckers screamed as they were roasted alive and now Bran looked fearful. Just as I reverted to my human form, Ciel undid his eye patch and called out to Sebastian.

And the demonic butler appeared right on cue.

"What the hell? You're just some Dandy!" the vampiress retorted.

"This is an order, Sebastian! Kill them!"

"As you wish young master"

My eyes went wide as Sebastian killed Bran and his three remaining companions with ease. He slaughtered them with his damned cutlery which was made out of silver.

The demon then went to deal with the fire that still burned the remains of the other vampires.

"Looks like we solved the case, my lord"

"Indeed and I knew having you join my staff was a good choice, well done Tarryn"

I flashed the young Earl a smirk just as Sebastian joined us. The fire was out now, and the next thing the demon knew, he was rubbing a massive red welt on top of his head.

"Consider that payback for making me wear this monstrosity" I hissed.

Sebastian looked amused despite being just hit on the head.

"Violence doesn't suit you, my lady"

"I'm a dragon butler, and you'd be surprised what we are capable of," I reminded him.

Back At Townhouse

If you stay in the bath any longer, your skin will begin to prune, my dragon pointed out.

"I'll get out in a minute," I told my other half.

Ciel was asleep and I needed to get rid of the smell of blood off of me. My back, however, was hurting, and I bet it was from Bran slamming me against the wall. There was a knock on the door and knowing it had to be Sebastian, I ducked my naked body further into the bathwater.

"What is it?!" I called out to the butler.

"Apologies Tarryn, but I just wanted to make sure you were alright"

"I'm fine!"

Why the hell was he even in my damn room?!

"Is it alright if I come in? I promise I won't look"

Cheeky bastard, I thought. I sighed and called out to Sebastian that he could come in. The demon entered and I held back a laugh as he said the butler literally had his eyes closed.

"For god sakes Sebastian, you don't need to have your eyes closed to come in here, just don't be eyeballing me"

Sebastian opened his eyes and kept them away from the tub.

"Very well then, good night to you Tarryn"

Just as he was about to leave, I growled, and this alerted the demon. He then covered his eyes with a gloved hand.

"You sound like you're in pain Tarryn"

"My back hurts, to be honest"

"If you want I can take a look at it"

That got me to blush a little.

"Tarryn I can smell blood and if I don't clean your back, you might fall sick"

F**k!

He was right!

"Alright butler just no bullshit"

Sebastian removed his hand away from his face and proceeded to walk behind the tub where my back was facing him.

"My lady you have a nasty-looking gash on your back"

"Probably from that jackass when he pinned me to the wall"

Sebastian chuckled before getting to work on the said wound. When the soap touched the gash, it hurt, but I kept my composure. He cleaned it with great care and eventually finished.

"I'll wait outside my lady"

He then left the bathroom, and a few seconds later, I exited the tub. I didn't leave the bathroom until I was fully dressed in my nightgown and robe. When I saw Sebastian again I couldn't help but laugh because he was wearing his tie as a blindfold.

"My apologies Tarryn, but I need to bandage your back"

"Can you even see with that over your eyes?" I asked in curiosity.

Sebastian proceeded to smirk.

"My lady I am one hell of a butler"

I sighed and sat down on the bed, removed the robe, and hiked the nightgown upward until the gash on my back was visible. Sebastian went to work again and I felt him putting gauze and bandages over my wound.

"There that feels secure my lady"

"Thank you, Sebastian"

"Your quite welcome Tarryn, you should be able to remove the bandage and gauze in the morning, it should stop bleeding by then, but I will be more than happy to attend to it again if necessary"

"Dragons heal fast, but the gesture would be appreciated," I stated, pulling the gown back down.

"We'll return to the manor tomorrow, sleep well, my lady"

He then picked up the gauze and bandages and took his leave.

He minded his manners

It's late, dragon, I reminded my other half.

My inner beast chuckled before going quiet and it wasn't long until I was asleep as well.

The next chapter will start with the events of the anime and I do plan on including the School and Emerald Witch Ark.
