I have no idea what to do with this chapter. Perhaps Jess will start getting more personal? Closer? I don't know. But Craig and Pete are going to start their project. That's gonna be fun.
BTW, I have a Twitter if you want to look me up and send art my way. Or just bother me a lot. Look me up at White Thunder ThunderingWhite. Look for the picture of the horse.
Chapter 11 – Num Num Num
Craig's eyes hurt from staring at the computer screen. He wanted to get as much research done for the stupid history project as possible before he met up with Pete so he wouldn't have to spend as much time with the goth. Tweek was laying on Craig's bed looking incredibly bored, but Craig couldn't help him.
Tweek sighed loudly. "Are you going to be done soon, Craig?" he wondered, "I have nothing to do and I'm bored!"
"I'm sorry, Tweek," Craig muttered, not taking his eyes off the screen, "I want to get this done so I don't have to spend so much time with that annoying goth."
"Come on, Craig, he's not that bad," Tweek argued.
"Sure he isn't," Craig agreed, "Boy do I sure hate him, though."
Tweek sighed again. Having no idea why Craig hated the goth and his boyfriend's refusal to tell him why really frustrated him sometimes. If it weren't for this stupid feud they could be cuddling now!
"You know," Craig suddenly spoke, startling Tweek, "You could call Clyde and do some research with him. Get started on your project."
"Don't wanna," Tweek muttered stubbornly. Craig was glad he was facing a computer screen so the blond couldn't see him roll his eyes.
"Do that later, Craig!" Tweek whined, "Come snuggle with your adorable boyfriend! He's feeling neglected!"
Craig couldn't help but grin. He could never resist when Tweek's voice got high pitched and whiney. "My adorable boyfriend, huh?" he asked, spinning around in his chair, "Who would that be?"
"Me!" Tweek exclaimed.
With a mischievous smile, Craig got up from his chair, ran over, and pounced on Tweek, who let out a squeak of fear. They wrestled on the bed for a moment or two before Tweek emerged victorious, pinning Craig down and looking around the room with wide eyes.
"You only won because I let you win!" Craig pointed out.
"Uh-huh," Tweek dismissed.
Since Tweek stubbornly refused to let Craig go back to his computer, he decided to call it quits for now and they spent the rest of the night snuggling and telling each other secrets. Most of Craig's were about Clyde.
…
Craig wasn't looking forward to working with Pete. They agreed to meet at the library so they could research, but neither of them were happy. As Craig approached the library, he could see Pete leaning against the building smoking a cigarette. He rolled his eyes.
Well, let's get this over with, he thought to himself. He walked over to the goth, who only acknowledged him by turning his dark eyes to him.
"You're here," he said simply.
"No duh," Craig replied sarcastically, "You have eyes."
"I half expected you not to show," Pete explained.
"Well, I want to get this done as fast as possible so I don't have to be around you," Craig pointed out rudely. Pete curled his lip up in disgust and anger.
"Let's get this over with," he hissed, and turned to head into the library. Craig frowned and followed him. Before they entered, though, Craig let out a loud cough.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" he asked the goth. Pete turned back and looked at him, seeing Craig gesturing to the still lit cigarette in his hand. Sighing heavily, Pete tossed it away into the bushes.
"Happy now?" he growled.
"Never when you're around," Craig scoffed, brushing past him. Pete scowled and followed after him.
Once they were inside, Craig immediately started heading for the history section. But then he spotted someone and stopped abruptly, causing Pete to collide with him. The goth growled and pushed him slightly.
"What did you stop for?" he asked.
"Bad thing over there," Craig replied vaguely, "Can't go."
"What the hell are you talking about?" Pete glanced over Craig's shoulder and saw a girl he kind of remembered as being Craig's girlfriend sort of in middle school. What was her name?
"You're scared of your ex?" Pete snorted. Craig turned and glared at him.
"Jess is not just any ex, she's crazy!" he clarified, "You would know if you ever dated a stalker! Or anyone for that matter!"
"How do you know I've never dated anyone?" Pete challenged.
"Because goths are all the same," Craig dismissed, "Besides, you're too busy pining after my boyfriend."
"Ok, can we just drop it?" Pete sighed in annoyance, "I want to get this stupid project done so I don't have to be around you any longer than I have to."
"All right, but I'm going to have to hide behind you the entire time we're here," Craig told him.
"…Fuck."
…
Craig wasn't entirely sure he was successful dodging Jess's gaze and Pete knew they weren't successful. Her eyes kept flicking over to them the whole time and Pete was pretty sure the only reason she didn't come over and talk to Craig was either because he was there or because of the project. Eventually, though, the two boys found a quiet corner of the library to work where they wouldn't be disturbed.
It was nearing two in the afternoon when Pete finally dropped his pencil and closed his notebook. "Done!" he announced, "Glad we got that out of the way and we don't have to see each other anymore for a while."
"Uh, we still have to type it up," Craig pointed out, "This was only a rough draft. We have to type everything these days, remember?"
"…Fuck."
Craig snatched the notebook from him and tore out the pages they had written. "How about this? I'll go home and type this up. Then it'll be done and we won't have to see each other," he suggested. Pete shrugged.
"Sounds good to me," he replied, "As long as I don't have to be near you. Or communicate with you. Or-"
"I get it!" Craig sighed, rolling his eyes.
The two stood up and started making their way towards the exit of the library. Outside they traded jabs at each other as fire fighters tried to put out a bush fire. Then they separated and Craig started walking home.
Hope Tweek wasn't too bored without me, he thought, He does have a rather short attention span. I told him that he should've started his paper with Clyde but he doesn't want to listen to me. Maybe I should've given him a piece of string to entertain him for a few hours. That always seems to-
"Craig!" a voice called out, cutting into his thoughts, "Craig wait!"
Without even turning around, Craig already knew who was calling to him and that was a big ol' nope! He started walking faster, hoping Jess would get the picture and stop following him. Suddenly, he heard sprinting behind him and he broke into a run. What was with this crazy bitch? Couldn't she take a hint?
Just as he reached his block and almost made it to his house, he tripped and fell into the grass. Cursing, he was about to get back up when Jess screeched at the top of her lungs and landed on top of him, knocking the wind out of him.
"Craig!" Jess giggled in an annoying voice, "Didn't you hear me calling to you? I was trying to get your attention!"
"Yeah. Didn't you see me running from you? I was trying to ignore you," Craig growled in response. He pushed her off him and stood up, flinching slightly when he put pressure on his ankle. He was going to be feeling that all week.
"I just wanted to talk to you," Jess insisted, standing as well and brushing herself off, "But you keep ignoring me."
"Gee, I wonder why?" Craig muttered.
"Well, about that time I raged over you breaking up with me and sent a gang after Tweek," Jess started, "I've been thinking it over really hard. I'm really sorry about the way I acted. I shouldn't have done that and I don't expect you to forgive me right away. But I wanted to show you that I've changed."
Craig stared at her, suspicion in his eyes. "Hmm, I don't believe you," he told her, "But I guess it's up to you to change my mind." He turned to start back to his house. "By the way," he called over his shoulder, "Chasing me down and tackling me is not a good start to changing my mind."
Jess gave a weak smile. "Noted," she said.
…
When Craig was finally able to make it back up to his room, he found Tweek asleep on his bed with half a sandwich in his hand. He sighed and smiled warmly. Only Tweek would fall asleep while eating a sandwich.
I really should have given him a piece of string to play with, he thought. He walked over to his bed and leaned over his sleeping boyfriend.
"TWEEK WAKE UP!" he shouted in his ear.
"GAH! I'm awake!" Tweek exclaimed, leaping up, limbs flying everywhere. Wide-eyed and breathing heavily, he looked around until he spotted Craig and his face lit up.
"Craig!" he gleefully squealed and before Craig could say or do anything, Tweek was pouncing on him, knocking him to the floor.
"Hey, boo," Craig greeted with a soft sigh, smiling up at him, "What have you been up to all day? Working on your project?"
"Nope!" Tweek declared proudly. Craig shook his head, before reaching up and pulling him down. Tweek let out a yeep of surprise.
"Why are you so stubborn?" Craig asked. Tweek blinked at him.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he teased before giving him a quick kiss. Then he struggled to get out his boyfriend's arms, but Craig wasn't budging.
"Nope," Craig insisted.
While they wrestled and played Craig pushed his encounter with Jess to the back of his mind. He could deal with her another day.
Sorry for how long this chapter took to come out. It's been hard lately. I have some issues and writer's block isn't fun. But I've started to marathon South Park episodes to get my mojo back so I really hope that will help. In the meantime, please leave a comment and forgive me for my absence and the shitty ending of this chapter!
