As Izuku and his friends rode the train back to UA, things were mostly normal. That is, save for the numerous people who recognized them from the Sports Festival and were excited to meet them.

Mayumi giggled. "I gotta admit, this is a little embarrassing."

"If this is the sort of attention I get for second place... What's it going to be like when I hit Number One?!" Izuku thought, a little freaked out.

The group soon reached the school campus. It was raining, so Izuku made sure to bring his umbrella. Mayumi just created an umbrella from her arm while the rain around Ben moved to avoid him as Morimoto manifested an umbrella from his head. On the way there, they ran into Tenya.

"Ah! Midoriya and friends! Glad to see you made it!"

"Kind of slow to school, yeah?" Morimoto noted. "Normally you consider someone late if they only have five minutes to get to class."

Tenya sighed sadly. "After what happened with Tensei, I decided I needed to pull back a bit. I know our classmates see me as uptight and robotic, which is likely the reason I was passed over as class representative. It's easy to vote for someone you find relatable."

"How is your brother doing?" Izuku asked worriedly.

"He's brighter than ever thanks to Depestilous, but he's decided to pull out of hero work," Tenya explained. "For now, his agency is being transferred to his top sidekick, Enigma, who's now being promoted to hero status. But she has made it clear that this is only to maintain the agency until my graduation."

"Did they find out who attacked Ingenium?" Ben asked.

Tenya's face briefly turned into a scowl before calming himself down.

"It was Stain. Seems his motives are finally revealed. He's on a mad crusade to remove so-called 'fake heroes' from the world. He did think highly of Tensei's status as a hero, but it's clear Stain is willing to attack anyone who tries to get in the way of what he believes are righteous actions. He wound up crippling my brother. It's the reason Tensei decided to retire. He could easily get himself fixed, but wanted to send Stain a clear message."

"Think he'll get it?" Mayumi asked.

"I couldn't say for certain... But enough about such somber moments!" Tenya decided. "I assume by now you've seen the reruns of the Sports Festival. Rather strange to be greeted by people on the street as if you were already a celebrity."

"Tell me about it!" Ben chuckled.

The same buzz was happening with the rest of Class 1-A. Shoto also seemed to be interacting with his classmates more.

"What's up, Todoroki?" Izuku asked. "You seem a lot more open today."

"I was finally able to reconcile with my mom, for starters. But more than that, it was what the people who recognized me called me on the way here." Shoto explained, a small smile on his face. "They called me 'Shoto'."

Izuku smiled, understanding what he meant. People no longer saw him as just 'the son of Endeavor', they saw him as a hero in his own right.

"All right, everyone, let's get to our seats for class!"

Aizawa entered the room, nodding in approval at how diligent his class had become under Izuku's guidance.

"Today's going to be a big class and a joint lesson with Class 1-B. To that end, I have a small announcement. This normally wouldn't be brought up since it doesn't involve our class, but Vlad King, the homeroom teacher for Class 1-B, had Monoma Neito shunted down to General Ed due to his poor performance in the Sports Festival, and overall bad sportsmanship."

"GOOD." Ben spat out. "Scum like him don't deserve to be Heroes."

Momo nodded. "I must agree with Toriokoyoshi-Kun..."

"In his place, Hitoshi Shinso has been elevated to the Hero Course in Class 1-B due to his exceptional performance and reaching the final tournament." Aizawa continued.

Izuku smiled. "Awesome, he made it after all!"

"Today's lesson may sound boring, but trust me when I say you're going to enjoy it. It's called 'Hero Informatics'. Or, to put in layman's terms..." Aizawa smirked. "It's time to choose your hero code names."

"HELL YEAH!" Eijirou cheered.

"This is it! Our next step in becoming Heroes!" Denki grinned.

"Down, boys!" Mina giggled.

"This is related to the Pro Hero draft picks that were mentioned shortly after the Sports Festival. Normally drafting is only done for second or third-year students. But the Hero Course is an exception." Aizawa explained. "In fact, by drafting students like you, heroes are essentially investing in your future. Any offers for you may be rescinded, however, if their interest in you dies down. You'll still have to prove yourself after getting recruited."

"Talk about pressure. Adults are so selfish!" Minoru said.

"Please remember that after you successfully obtain a provisional hero license later down the line, you may swap between any agencies that have drafted you until you find one suited to your needs. Being a hero is important work, but it's still another job at the end of the day, no different from police or rescue work." Aizawa said as he turned on a monitor to showcase the list of offers each student got. "Everyone here proved themselves enough to get offers in the double digits. In previous years it was more spread out, but this year there's a pretty big gap."

Indeed, Izuku, Ben, Morimoto, and Mayumi were around the top along with Katsuki, Tsumi, and Shoto.

"This is insane! People are probably seeing you as the next All Might, Midoriya!" Minoru excitedly said.

"Surprised I have so many people offering for me despite what I did to Monoma and Shoto..." Ben muttered, feeling slightly guilty about his conduct during his matches in the tournament.

Katsuki chuckled. "So much for second place being for losers, Deku."

"Now, you'll all be doing internships. You were able to get some impromptu experience fighting villains during the attack on the USJ. But it'll still be helpful to get to see a pro at work." Aizawa said. "Some might even give you permission to fight against a villain if they think you can handle it. The names you'll be getting will likely be temporary, but you should still take them seriously. If you're only remembered for an embarrassing name, it tends to stick with you for life."

"So why did you pick the name Eraserhead?" Sero asked.

"I didn't. In fact, I never intended to pick a Hero name when I was in school. Present Mic picked the name for me and I just rolled with it."

Tsumi giggled. "Sounds like something Presentation Michael would say!"

The misnaming of his best friend actually made Aizawa snort into his scarf.

"I'm honestly grateful that this is a joint class," Vlad King said. "Especially since we can reign in Midnight together."

Aizawa nodded. "Yup."

"Hey!" Midnight pouted as she was also with the two homeroom teachers and the gathered students.

"Keep in mind a code name is meant to represent the sort of hero you want to be. Whether you wish to inspire the masses or terrify foes. Whether you want to stand in the spotlight or strike from the shadows." Vlad King addressed the students. "And yes, my impromptu rhyme is meant to invoke a cheery demeanor."

"Most of us were gonna say..." A few of the students muttered.

"Take some time to think out your code names, sweeties!" Midnight said. "Remember that these titles will stick with you when you go Pro! Make a mistake and there'll be hell to pay!"

The students were all handed whiteboards and black markers.

"Remember when we were kids and I kept picking names based on All Might?" Izuku asked his friends.

"How could we forget?" Morimoto laughed. "Small Might? Might Junior? Mini-Might? The list was endless!"

"About 85% of those names had some variation of All-Might's name in them," Mayumi noted.

Katsuki snickered. "Once a damn nerd, always a damn nerd."

Once all the students were finished, Yuuga was asked to come up first.

"Behold, my tres magnifique name!" The Franco-Japanese boy declared. "The Shining Hero: I CANNOT STOP TWINKLING!"

"That's a whole damn sentence!" Wankuro barked out incredulously.

"Aoyama-Kun, I have a question and a suggestion," Tsumi spoke up. "Why don't you just use 'I Can Not Stop Twinkling' as a catchphrase and use something shorter as your Hero name?"

Yuuga rubbed his chin as he acknowledged Tsumi's words before quickly making changes to his name and presenting it again.

"The Shining Hero: Sparkle Knight!"

Vlad King nodded. "Much better."

"I would've just suggested he use 'Can't Stop Twinkling." Midnight noted. "After all, it's not the weirdest name ever. Remember His Royal Purple Highness, Shota?"

Aizawa rolled his eyes. "Don't remind me..."

"Okay, here it is..." Awase said as he went next. "The Construction Hero: Welder!"

Tsuyu came up with her board. "I've actually had this name in mind since grade school. The Rainy Season Hero: Froppy!"

"I love it! It's so adorable and inviting!" Midnight gushed.

Kuroiro went next. "This next one might sound sinister, but I feel it fits with my theme. The Scheming Hero: Vantablack!"

"There's nothing wrong with a sinister-sounding hero name," Vlad King assured him. "My Hero name is Vlad King, which along with my blood-based Quirk could conjure up images of Vlad the Impaler. Yet I'm still a hero through and through."

"Revelry in the dark." Fumikage said, nodding his head in approval of Kuroiro's name.

"Hat's off, boys! My name is WAIFU!" Mina said as she presented her board before realizing what was written down. "Hey! Wait a minute! That's not what I wrote!"

Hurriedly scribbling out the name and changing it, Mina presented it again, though Midnight had some skepticism.

"The Ripley Hero: Alien Queen? Ashido, sweetie, I admire your spunk, but I don't think we want a lawsuit on our hands."

Mina pouted. "Fine! The Glamorous Hero: Queen Acid! Take it or leave it!"

"Much better!"

"This shall be the name that evokes ultimate power that instills dread in all evil." Le said as he stood up next. "The Chaos Hero: Ultima!"

"Ooooh~! Chills!" Midnight grinned approvingly.

Tenya sighed as he came up for his turn.

"This was decided between my brother and me in light of his early retirement. As the next generation, I am ready to take up his mantle." He revealed his whiteboard. "The Turbo Hero: Ingenium!"

Aizawa nodded. "Well, if your brother gave you permission, I see no reason to reject it."

"Agreed, so long as you make the name your own." Vlad King added.

"I intend to," Tenya said firmly.

Itsuka then came up for her turn. "The Kung Fu Hero: Battle Fist!"

Ochako came up next. "The Fly-High Hero, Uravity!"

Ibara then put her whiteboard up.

"The Bountiful Hero: Faith!"

"I thought you were going with Maria," Itsuka noted.

"I thought it might make my beliefs seem too heavy-handed," Ibara explained. "That and Wankuro convinced me Vine would have been too...boring."

Eijirou then took his turn, and he looked really excited.

"THE STURDY HERO: RED RIOT!"

"Ah, an homage to the Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Riot," Vlad King noted.

"Yeah, he was my idol growing up. I wanted to be just like him." Eijirou said.

Midnight beamed. "Just be sure to live up to the name!"

Kirby skipped up and happily wrote on his whiteboard before presenting it to everyone, needing a stool to sit up since he was so short.

"Poyo!"

"The Star Hero: Hoyo?" Ochako read out loud. "It's definitely cute and approachable!"

"I agree!" Midnight smiled.

Shoto finished his name and nodded in satisfaction before coming up.

"A year ago I would have just stuck with my own name to showcase who I am. But now I'm confident enough to have a hero identity all my own." He showed his whiteboard. "The Icy-Hot Hero, Freezerburn!"

Katsuki laughed. "Using my nickname to your advantage, huh?! Gotta give you props for that!"

Aizawa smiled. "Good to see you found your conviction."

Wankuro then went next and proudly presented her whiteboard.

"The Altered Beast Hero: Genome!" She grinned. "I got it off a video game that shared similarities to my Quirk!"

Katsuki went up next with a proud smirk on his face.

"I had a lot of names in mind; King Explosion Murder, Great Explosion Murder God, Ground Zero...but then I figured I'd go for the option my friends gave me!" He revealed his whiteboard. "The Ground Zero Hero: Dynamight!"

"Well, good on you for getting rid of the ones with murder in them." Midnight noted. "Those are way too violent for a hero to have."

Hitoshi put the finishing touches on his name before coming up.

"To be honest, for all that I wanted to join this course, I honestly didn't think it would happen. But now that I am here, I'm happy to say I know the sort of hero I want to be." He revealed his whiteboard. "The Hypnosis Hero: Nighthide!"

"Dang! I dig it!" Ben laughed as he presented his whiteboard next. "This one is a bit on the nose; The Elemental Hero: Avatar!"

Morimoto nodded as he went next. "The Omnifarious Hero: Shapesmith!"

"Mei gave me some ideas over in our Support Class," Mayumi said as she went next. "The Cyborg Hero: Bio-Angel!"

"I got mine right here!" Tsumi grinned as she presented her whiteboard next. "The Cryptid Hero: Chimera!"

Akatani looked nervous as he walked up next with his whiteboard before presenting it to everyone.

"The Artificer Hero: Anon."

One by one, everyone else in Class 1-A and 1-B presented their hero names:

Sen: The Drill Hero: Spiral

Togaru: The Sharp Hero: Jack Mantis

Yui: The Shrinking Hero: Rule

Oujiro: The Martial Arts Hero: Whiptail

Kinoko: The Mushroom Hero: Shemage

Denki: The Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt

Jurota: The Sasquatch Hero: Gevaudan

Kouji: The Petting Hero: Anima

Shouda: The Rebound Hero: Mines

Rikidou: The Sweets Hero: Sugar Man

Pony: The Horned Hero: Rocketti

Shouji: The Tentacle Hero: Tentacole

Tsuburaba: The Exosphere Hero: Pane Blower

Kyouka: The Hearing Hero, Heartjack!

Tetsutetsu: The Heavy Metal Hero: Real Steel

Sero: The Taping Hero: Cellophane

Setsuna: The Autotomy Hero: Lizardy

Fumikage: The Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi

Manga: The SFX Hero: Comic Man

Juuzo: The Sinkhole Hero: Mudman

Tooru: The Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl!

Bondo: The Adhesive Hero: Plamo

Reiko: The Phantasmal Hero: Emily

Minoru: The Fresh-Picked Hero: Grape Juice

Rin: The Oriental Hero: Dragon Shroud

Momo: The Everything Hero: Lady Creati

With everyone else finished, Izuku was the last one to present his name and nodded his head in approval as he stepped up to the front desk and presented his whiteboard.

"The Invincible Hero: Dekiru!"

Vlad King was flabbergasted, while Aizawa had a crazy grin on his face.

"This kid... He's really making a statement with that name. Hope he lives up to it."

Meanwhile, Toshinori was busy looking through the offers for the first-year students.

"For a while I w,as afraid my old teacher Gran Torino would want to train Young Midoriya. But when I called him he said it wouldn't be necessary."

"No, but it seems Midoriya already has who's willing to train him planned out."

Toshinori noticed the file and couldn't help but chuckle.

"Well, well, Tony...wanting to make sure your son learns everything from the best, huh?"

"Your internships will last for one week and some of you will get the chance to intern with teachers," Aizawa explained after hero names were finished.

"Wait, really?" Sero asked.

"We may be your teachers, but we are still heroes and still do hero work when classes are finished." Vlad King said. "Our agencies are still active as well, run by our sidekicks while we're here teaching the next generation."

"You'll each have a list based on the offers you received. Make sure to give each some consideration based on the hero you want to be." Midnight advised. "Each agency has its own specialty. For example, someone wanting to be a rescue hero wouldn't want to join an agency focused on fighting villains."

Shoto was a little surprised that he didn't see his father's agency on the list he was given.

"Guess he was serious about what he said... Regarding having me train to become a hero all my own."

Minoru looked through his list. At first, he'd been considering Mount Lady, but experiences had made him decide it would be best to choose a female hero who could both improve his demeanor and maintain his primary motivation.

"This one should do. Looks like I got an offer from Elle-Ate."

"I got a great offer right here!" Mina said. "The Marshland Hero: Swampanne!"

"Alright! Asahi came through!" Ochako cheered. "She sent me an offer!"

"Hey, Kacchan, did you decide yet?" Izuku asked Katsuki.

"I was going with Best Jeanist since he's the highest-ranked hero who sent me an offer," Bakugo said, "But there's no way his personality and mine are compatible. You might as well stick a feral animal in a cage. Luckily I was given a better offer; The Rabbit Hero: Miruko."

"No way! Me too!" Tsumi said excitedly. "My dad will always be my favorite hero but Miruko is just...SO COOL!"

"I've made my choice as well. At first, I was considering Manual. He patrols Hosu, and since Stain was last seen there it would be a good chance to confront him." Tenya said. "But I think it might be best to focus on improving my combat first. My fight with Midoriya made it clear how predictable my normal fighting style is. Instead, I'll be interning with the Statuesque Hero: Swift Sculpt."

"Aww sweet!" Ben exclaimed. "Swift Sculpt was one of the SCP Foundation's first heroes! He'll definitely be a good teacher!"

"What about you, Ben?" Morimoto asked. "I was gonna go with the Dream Hero: Elm as my choice. His Dream Warrior Quirk is the best fit for my Morph Quirk."

"Believe it or not, Endeavor sent me an offer. I guess he wanted to thank me in person for beating some sense into Shoto."

Mayumi hummed. "I'm going with the Doll Hero: M3GAN."

"Kirby was thinking of joining the Consumption Hero: Pig God, he's a member of the S-Rankers," Wankuro said. "I'm also thinking of going with the Ninja Hero: Edgeshot!"

Le nodded. "I'm going with the Slasher Hero: Crystal Lake. His tenacity is something to admire."

"I'm just gonna go with the Normal Hero: Manual in Hosu," Akatani said. "I...don't really have any intentions of being a big showy hero."

Izuku was skimming over his own options before noticing one and smiling.

"Heh...you really wanna show me the ropes now that I'm officially a hero in training huh, Dad?"

Looks like Izuku is gonna be interning with his old man, Regenizard! And I've also just made references to some other PopCross Studios superheroes!

The Dream Hero: Elm is Freddy Krueger.

The Doll Hero: M3GAN is Megan.

And the Slasher Hero: Crystal Lake is Jason Voorhees.

There'll be many more that'll appear later. I hope you look forward to it!
