Chapter 38
Meeting The Family
Part 3
Disclaimer: Let's get it on!
Thankfully, Betsy's parents had actually gone to their bedroom, meaning that there wasn't any additional awkwardness once she and her boyfriend got inside. And even though Lance had been in the Xavier Institute on numerous occasions, he still couldn't help but feel in awe of Braddock Manor. "Probably helps its not full of kids, destroyed items, and holes in the walls." Betsy told him telepathically and making him jump a little.
As it wasn't often she used that with him as they made their way to her room and she quickly apologized as she hadn't necessarily been thinking when she mentally talked to him. "Blame it on jetlag and time zones." Offered up Lance as he took in Betsy's bedroom as he was starting to feel it.
Noticing that it was decidedly not a girlie room and considering her past interests, some of which she still has, it made sense it would have a Punk/Goth look to it. "Works for me, Luv." She told him with a smile before yawning and told Stevens to let her parents know that she and Lance would be taking some time to rest before seeing them after he had set aside their luggage.
"You sure its okay for us to be in the same bed since this is your parents' place?"
"Of course it is! We're essentially grown adults and its not like they themselves wouldn't be having some fun if they weren't knackered like we are. Although, being knackered probably wouldn't stop them." A line of thought that made both shudder briefly.
Quickly shaking it off, Betsy got a lovely idea and pushed Lance on to her bed and quickly snuggled up next to him. "I think this is the most comfortable bed I've ever been on." Muttered Lance after a short make out session between the two of them.
"I've definitely thought a lot of times about having it shipped to the Pit."
"Well, I wouldn't be opposed to that."
Smiling happily at what she'd heard, Betsy kissed him again and the two drifted off for a time after an alarm was set. A little while later would see Lance meeting Betsy's brother, Brian Braddock, after the two had woken up from their rest period, had a little fun, and then freshened up before heading downstairs thanks to a note left on Betsy's bedroom door. Brian, as Lance learned, is basically England's answer to Captain America as Captain Britain. And he was admittedly a little nervous around the guy considering his size and the potential to be disapproving of him where Betsy's concerned but thankfully the big guy and their parents actually approved of him much like Betsy believed they would. The whole thing making the Earth Shaker rather relieved as they all sat down in the living room in order to get to know Lance.
Meanwhile, Somewhere In Stamford, Connecticut
"Craig, that voice in your head isn't some condition or something darker, that's actually someone you're communicating with." Jean Grey told her fellow teenager, Craig Allman.
Who frowned and winced as Dr. Grey patched him up in a deserted parking lot as Jean's father had wanted to get a look at his injury before the family and Craig kept on going. "Great, that's just great. Just what I wanted, my own personal cheer force in my head. And I bet that piece of ^$*# knew the entire time." Groused the teenager with a black colored star on his left eye as something of a birthmark.
"Hey, maybe you could ask them to call Xavier to somehow come and help us out." Suggested Sara, Jean's younger sister, as she and her mother kept an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.
As none of them had a cell phone on them and no means to use a payphone to call considering they'd been forced to get the Hell out of dodge nearly an hour ago from the Grey home. Craig sighed displeasedly before wincing again due to the pain he's in, not liking the idea but having little option in the matter. 'Hey, Mr. Cheerful, you there?'
Author's Notes: As Lance gets to know the Braddock family, Jean and her family find themselves in some unfortunate trouble! By whom you wonder? Well, stay tuned to find out!
