My squad and I jumped into a transport hog and we hauled ass to the village. As we were speeding along the road we saw more innie pelicans fly overhead. " Athena how long until we make it too the town!" I asked her.
"We are about 5 minutes out." She told me .
We kept on speeding down the road until we finally reached the outskirts of the village, We quickly dismounted and proceeded on foot. Once the town was in sight. We saw the militia putting up a resistance, however they were getting their asses kicked. Making matters worse the rebels were armed with Covenant weapons. The plasma burned through Massouds men.
" Shit Loyalists are getting their asses kicked!" Manny exclaimed
" Ok Kat, Manny, Scar you are with me." I ordered them.
" Stitch." I said. Before I could say it Makoa quickly got into position, and laid down his sniper. The rest of us made our way to the village.
" Would be nice to have Wolf providing sniper support other than Stitch." Manny shitalked him as usual.
" Fuck you." Makoa nonchalantly said. The three of us went inside the village passing the burning buildings and bodies. We came across another gunfight. We springed into action helping the Loyalists. Visibly surprised the Rebels immediately started firing upon us. We returned fire on the innies the militiamen were also equally surprised to see us as well. I shot my BR with deadly accuracy Killing two of them.
" Odsts and a Spartan!" One loyalist screamed.
" What the hell are they doing here?" Another said.
" Who cares!? Helljumpers assist!" One of them yelled. Manny laid down his LMG and started to suppress the enemy, While Sara tossed a grenade killing another three. While Kat rushed up with her rifle
With the help of the militia. We started pushing back the rebels out of the town. A technical then pulled up laying down some fire pinning us.
Before I could call out for Makoa he already took him out with a shot to the head. The driver tried to drive away but it was quickly ended with a rocket shot. The technical blew up into a fiery explosion allowing us to move up more. The militia proceeded up the main path
Kat took point. We deviated from the main road and cut through one of the destroyed buildings. Kat kicked down a door and we interrupted an innie execution squad. They immediately shifted attention from the prisoners to us. We immediately opened fire taking them out with ease. Kat finished off the last one breaking his neck.
With the last one dead I turned back to the prisoners. " Get out of here!" I yelled at them. The prisoners took off running back to safety. We continued moving up going through another burning building. Manny kicked down the door to be greeted with a sight with a militia member being blown up into pieces by a Needler. I turned to my right as more innies were dropped off by Pelicans with all sorts of Covenant weaponry. We took cover and started laying down some more fire. I took a few of them out with my BR. as more innies arrived. Kat charged forward with her assualt rifle taking out any Innie that came her way.
A rocket warthog then showed up, but before it could do any damage Makoa took out the turret operator and driver with ease.
With our help the Loyalists regrouped and went on the offensive causing the innies to retreat to the outskirts of the town. Two of them ran up and stole the warthog.
" Need a lift trooper?" the driver said.
"Much appreciated" I responded mounting the turret.
" Celt we got more innies arriving on the outskirts of the village." Makoa told me.
" Copy that, Everyone defensive positions, we got more incoming!" I ordered. The loyalist took up positions while Manny Sara and Kat took cover besides the warthog.
The rebels arrived with warthogs and technicals escorting them as they charged the frontline. We immediately opened fired. I shot my rockets taking out one vehicle. While Makoa sniped any unlucky innies that got in his sights. Manny shot his LMG burning through ammunition. The Militia fired there weapons as well. Although their shots were a bit sloppy their help was appreciated.
I kept firing taking out a Innie warthog. The infantry kept pushing forward despite taking heavy casualties. The rebels scrambled to what little cover they had. Suddenly behind them appeared Wraiths and Ghosts.
" They got Covenant armor!" Manny yelled. The Wraiths began firing on our positions and taking a few loyalists out. I returned fire taking out one out but 2 still remained. I yelled at my driver to get the hell out of here as the Wraiths shifted their focus onto us. Their shots narrowly missed us, as we drove away retreating back into the village. Regaining the initiative the Innies were able to push back into the town. Makoa did his best to provide support, His sniper barely penetrating the Wraiths.
" Next time we are bringing launchers!" He complained.
" For once I am agreeing with you Stitch!" Manny yelled over commes.
The Ghosts raced over Running over and Killing a few Loyalists. I took a few out with Rockets. I drove through the village while the passenger shot his assualt rifle at the ghosts. Lucky for us reinforcements came in via Mongooses the passengers armed with rocket launchers. They arrived in the village catching the Ghosts off guard. They shot their rockets hitting their targets with deadly accuracy. We joined the fight a long side with them as we withered the innies down. Even Makoa took out some of the ghosts with his sniper rifle. He sniped one out of the drivers seat. While I took another one out. However we still have the Wraiths to deal with. They came into view and shot their canons. We scrambled out the way, however a unlucky mongoose got hit killing the two militia men. We circled the covenant tanks, while Manny, Kat and Sara dealt with the infantry. Being outnumbered one tank was destroyed. However the other one was proving quite difficult.
The turret gunner, shot a burst of plasma hitting one of the drivers causing them to crash. The passenger was left injured, but two Loyalists quickly went to her aid and was grabbed off the ground and taken to safety. I aimed at the Wraith the rocket pierced in the back of it's armor destroying it.
Thanks to the help of my squad. The rebels were pulling back again with Manny at the very front unleashing his LMG with Kat taking one out after the other. Kat shot her rifle with deadly accuracy taking out two of them. We rode up behind them and we combined our firepower taking out a huge portion. Before long I exhausted all of my rockets, but we mopped up the rest of them.
" Stitch report." I asked him.
" I am seeing nothing looks like the town is secure." He said.
As a Friendly Pelican flew overhead dropping off a mongoose and infantry.
All of a sudden I heard large thuds [ounding into the ground don't tell me..
" Wait stand by there is something big closing in on our position." Makoa said.
" Oh fuck!" He grimaced.
" Stitch what is i–" Before I could ask him a Scarab came into sight tearing down the trees that was in its way.
" What the hell is that!" One loyalist panicked.
" It is a fucking Scarab take cover!" Manny screamed at them.
The lumbering machine made its way to the village and had us in its sights.
It's main gun then started powering up.
" Disembark!" I screamed at the two militiamen. We all jumped out barely avoiding death as the lumbering titan shot its main canon causing the Warthog to blow up in a fiery explosion. Manny picked me up off my feet. " How the fuck did the Innies get a fucking Scarab!" He yelled.
" Hell if I know but we need to find cover quickly!" I yelled back.
" Celt over here!" Kat screamed motioning for us to follow her. We ran to one of the destroyed buildings. While the militia frantically shot their rockets trying to take down the Scarab.
" Tell the godamn Loyalists to aim for its legs!" I said.
" On it." Athena told me remaining calm.
" And find us some rockets!" I yelled again.
" Here trooper." One militiamen said handing me a launcher. I nodded to him while Kat was also given one trading her pistol for it. We exited out of the building. As the mongooses circled Alien war machine the loyalists now aimed for it's joints, following our advice. Makoa was taking out the innies that were mounted on the turrets.
I aimed and shot my rocket shooting it's legs damaging it. The militia kept shooting and we kept on going building to building in hopes of avoiding it's main canon. We kept on shooting to the point were it was damaged enough that it lowered itself to the ground.
" Quick board it, and destroy it's main reactor." Athena told me.
I ran out of cover as I sprinted forward running to the back of the Scarab. Thanks to my augmentations I was able to jump in with no problems. To the surprise of a few rebels, but I qucikly cut them down, Finishing off the last one with my blade into his neck,I took it out and the terrorist lifelessly fell to the ground. I moved up to the 1st floor of the machine and was met with more innies. I shot my BR taking out two of them while one went into cover. They returned fire but my shields absorbed the bullets. I ran up and hit him with the butt of my rifle. I unsheathed my knife again and stabbed him in the neck. More innies came around the corner and started shooting at me. I used the dead body as cover as I shot MY BR killing the three. Once they were done I tossed the body to the side as I picked up a shotgun off one of the dead. As I continued to the back. Once I turned the corner I was immediately shot at forcing me back into cover. I pulled out a flashbang and tossed it, it went off blinding the two terrorists. I got out of cover and put a shotgun round into each one. Once they were dealt with I shifted my attention to the power core. I aimed the shotgun and shot a few rounds into it taking down it's shields.
Unknown to me a Innie snuck on me. But before he could do anything, Makoa eliminated him with his sniper. His body falling next to his comrades. " Thanks Stitch." I said thankfully.
" You got it Ke-Celt." He responded almost slipping up. I rolled my eyes, such a dork. I shot a few more times taking out the power core. The Scarab's alarms started going off letting everyone know of it's imminent demise.
" Everybody take cover it is going to blow!" Manny yelled. I sprinted back down passing the dead bodies of the rebels, Getting to the back of the Scarab I jumped off sprinting like my life depended on it. The Scarab blew up into a fiery explosion the Shell shock knocking me down.
I opened my eyes to see Manny holding his hand out for me. I took it as he got me off my feet. I dusted myself off and looked back at the wreckage of the Scarab. With the Loyalists looking in awe. I noticed that some of them were looking at me with scrutiny making me touch my neck nervously. Besides that I am pretty sure many of them have never saw a Scarab before.
" That was pretty badass Celt, almost had me thinking you were a Spartan there." Manny complinted me patting me on the shoulder.
" Good job Celt." Kat added.
" Just what type of trooper are you." One soldier asked me, followed by murmurs of agreements from his comrades.
I was about to answer until Makoa interrupted us. " Uh Celt we need to get moving no doubt Innie reinforcements are on there way." He told me.
" Stitch is right, I estimate about 20 minutes until, more Insurrection forces arrive." Athena told me
" You are right, everybody scavenge the bodies for weapons and gear we need to get out of here!" I ordered taking charge.
" You heard the lady Yallah!" One Sergeant yelled. All of them started gathering anything they can scavenge, Weapons and gear.
Makoa ran down from his overwatch position joining us. A Warthog came by picking us up. I sat down in the passenger seat right next to Manny.
" Uh Kelly a word?" Athena asked me.
" Yes." I responded.
" Make sure to be careful next time, there is two of us in here remember?" She said playfully.
I don't know why. But I was experiencing some sort of Deja Vu.
