Battle Of
New York
Disclaimer: Same notes as before though there are some extra changes, gonna mix things up a bit even more by pulling a move from the first Avengers film with the Chitauri Invasion. Now, let's get it on! The Tater Tot incident never happened.
Time passed as it always does and Lance would find the planet he needed for his purposes thanks to Lila. Of course, the barren planet would never be the same again thanks to his condition and his powers and he'd get an idea to find another planet like that so he could practice his powers in a more safe manner. Though he had ended up in a hospital bed for two weeks after his episode thanks to how strong it'd been. Doug, interestingly enough, had chosen to transfer to the Cleveland School thanks to the fact it was a lot calmer and therefore, less likely to cause him to get killed. Some thought he was being paranoid but he liked to strongly disagree! Plus, the opportunity to learn Alien Languages and Cultures was too good for him to pass up on! And true to a certain Intergalactic News broadcast, Kid Razor showed up and caused Mutant Hysteria to be practically replaced by Alien Hysteria over night much to the immense ire of Nick Fury. Whom had gotten in Razor's face after he had publically returned to Cleveland for the first time in years and later found himself waking up in the hospital for his efforts.
Razor had also declared his challenge towards Selene for their years in the making rematch but the Immortal Mutant had yet to take him up on the offer. Mostly on account of having to avoid the Hellfire Club after falling out with them over a certain legendary Crystal and just wanting to screw with him as well. A certain Mayor from Bayville had also been none too happy over the Alien revelations as well. Even actually blaming it on Xavier since he felt the man had chosen to accept certain words of his as a challenge. Refusing to listen to anything Xavier said and thereby, caused more problems for those at the Institute in the town much to their dismay and ire. And thanks to the fact that clashes between the folks of Chicago and the GRSO over their unwanted presence in the area due to Chicago and Illinois over all being mostly Pro-Mutant after the Battle of Northbrook getting on the news more and more, Hawk, with Director Graham's permission, had chosen to take advantage of the situation by sending Agent Sarah Walker into the GRSO for some undercover work in order to find out where the location of Neverland was.
Her lack of being identified as part of the Misfits team was a Godsend on the good side's favor thanks to not having been part of the interview following the Northbrook battle and hiding her identity when on mission with the team. The clashes had also made it increasingly harder for Kincaid and his GRSO team to find where Dorian Leech and anyone who may be hiding him was much to his growing ire and it wasn't helping that the Governor of Illinois was attempting to force Kincaid and the GRSO out of the State as well after the man had chosen to use Sentinels to get somewhere after getting a little too frustrated for his and everyone else's good and destroying a good amount of property and ending several lives in the process. The fact those higher up had chosen to placate the Illinois Governor hadn't pleased Kincaid but he reluctantly complied while Sarah continued her mission to find out where Neverland was and allowing for a surprise attack on the facility by the X-Men and both Misfits teams.
An attack that would go down in History for that matter as well for various reasons and for relations between Canada and America to be strained for a good while thanks to the GRSO operating in secret on Canadian Soil. Sarah would even have quite the cap in her feather after essentially helping start the revolt with those imprisoned at Neverland. The attack would also drive Sinister to having a particularly strong dislike bordering on hate for the Starr family after Craig and Ace both had gotten ahold of him and whooped his ass until he managed to escape. The revelation of Neverland and what it had been doing would also spark outrage amongst Mutant Supporters over the immoral and illegal actions there. The GRSO would take a very strong hit and support would be at an all time low in the aftermath to the point the organization was close to being shut down for good despite some quiet support for it from certain quarters. And because the Chicago Morlocks had never been found by the GRSO, they and the Leeches would be safe for the time being. It'd also be because of this that once they learned about the growing support for Mutants in Chicago and through out Illinois, the Chicago Chapter would start to cautiously venture out into public.
Something that interestingly enough, would allow for Xi and Solitaire to re-unite for the first time in a very long time after seeing his brother on the news. However, things would take an unfortunate turn when the Hellions, with aide from Pierce's team, would attack the Institute a week later in order to kidnap not only Jean, but Gambit and Roberto as well. All so that the Hellfire Club could infuse Jean with the Phoenix Force and use it to take over the world for their own ends. Cobra's involvement however had seen things not go as smoothly as the Hellfire Club had planned much to their annoyance but by the end of it, Jean had something of a power upgrade where the Phoenix Force was concerned and an unconscious Sage was also with them.
Naturally, this is when things got even wilder for everyone thanks to Life deciding to act up when a beam of light shot up into the sky and a giant portal opened, allowing for a large number of figures began to pour out through it and start attacking. Though it appeared a figure was already trying to fight back as they came out of the portal. "Are, are you serious!?" Asked Manifold in shock at the sight.
"I hope enough of us have energy left because we gotta get involved in that mess." Growled Logan.
"Myself, Jean, Betsy, and Tessa need to be taken back to the Institute as we are no good to you here at this point in time." Charles said grimly and everyone else nodded as Manifold quickly opened a portal and with some help from Angel and Mainframe, the foursome were able to quickly get through it while Tim showed up as he wanted to get in on the fighting. Though Mainframe would remain once he realized what was going on and join in on the battle against the invaders. "Should we get the West Coast team involved!?" He called out to Roadblock as the two teams rushed out to start fighting despite how tired they felt at that point.
"NO! If things go bad here, we'll need them as a second line of defense!" Shouted out the Joe as Firestar, Iceman, Sunspot, and Rogue took to the air.
Having already contacted Hawk back at the Pit for reinforcements. As the battle began to rage on, somewhere in the sewers of New York, Callisto was wondering what the Hell was going on until one of the Morlocks told her. "Just what everyone needed, an invasion." She grumbled unhappily before ordering everyone to descend into the lower tunnels to be on the safe side.
Not having any interest in getting her or her people involved in that sort of mess! And though X-Factor was mobilizing to get to the battle, Quicksilver had already beaten them there to join in on the fighting. Though he largely used his Speed to help get innocents out of the crossfire and somewhere safer while Lance managed to get ahold of one of the riding crafts the invaders were using and used it to fight back despite a rocky first start with the machine while Spider-Man did his own fighting elsewhere in the city. Interestingly enough, some unknown figures would show up to help in the fight and one of them would be a green haired woman in a green and black outfit and in a brief lull of the fighting, would check out Hank after lowing her green sunglasses. "Well, hello there, Handsome." She purred with a smile on her lips before blasting one of the invaders.
Catching Hank off guard by her flirting. "Umm… Yes, hello."
She winked at him. "Brand, Abigail Brand, but we'll talk more later once the Chitauri are taken care of!" Brand informed him.
Oh yeah, she was definitely gonna enjoy that conversation! "That's what these rude fellows are called!?" He asked as they and her cohorts fought against various foot soldiers.
"That's right, Handsome! Pretty much the foot soldiers for someone named Thanos!"
"I see!" Well, that was worrisome!
Eventually, the fighting would come to a close after the portal was finally shut down and Rogue was able to catch Iron Man before he hit the ground. The battle had been won, now came the aftermath. And maybe some Shawarma on Tony Stark's dime.
Elsewhere On Earth
"So the Phoenix has returned because some did not know better due to their hunger for Power. This is troubling but considering its one of the X-Men, I may not have to worry too much. Still... The threat of its Power is something to keep an eye on." Muttered En Sabah Nur, the Ancient Mutant known as Apocalypse, to himself after having been informed by a Seer of what had transpired on this day.
The former Ruler considered visiting the new host of the Phoenix and perhaps gaining trust from the host and the X-Men, if only so that he could have an in-road for later so that he could strike should the action be needed.
In Shi'ar Space
An Alien woman with white hair and wearing a pink dress rushed into the throne room, ignoring the calls of the Guards behind her as she did so. "Empress Lilandra! I bring you grave news!"
Pausing from what she was doing, Empress Lilandra Neramani, ruler of the Shi'ar Empire, asked her what the matter was while ensuring the Guards didn't bother her. "The Phoenix! I felt its return!"
Horrified gasps and murmurs were heard all through out the Throne Room. "Do you know where, my friend!?"
"On… On Earth!"
Lilandra closed her eyes for a moment to collect herself while a young woman near her gained a worried look on her face. This young woman being Xandra Neramani, the daughter of Lilandra. "I will reach out to my Husband there to see if he knows anything. But I want a Ship ready regardless as we must ensure the threat of the Phoenix will not grow!"
"I will see to it at once, my Empress!" The white haired Alien woman told her before rushing off.
"Do you really think Father knows anything about the Phoenix's return, Mother?"
Lilandra looked to her Daughter for a moment before speaking. "Given some of the events he's told me of, I'm nearly certain he does." She said gravely.
Though little did she know the trip to Earth would have some issues and thus, making the trip take some time!
Author's Notes: Well, that was fun to do! I got to writing this yesterday morning but then I got to thinking about things and realized I could do some major changes thanks to the fact I have 'Chuck's' Sarah Walker involved with the team and not generally known to the public. And since I read that Brand and Beast were apparently a thing in the comics, I thought it'd be fun to do something with those two during all this.
