Disclaimer: And we roll on, changes are included!
Several Hours Later In Malibu
After arriving in Malibu, which included a persistant Beast King and Long Range despite some concerns with Starchild remaining back on base, the team had immediately gone to the Precinct that was covering the Samuel Farley case to get on the same wavelength as them. Though some in the Force weren't all that enthused about it since several of the Misfits/Joes were Mutants but by and large, they were ignored. That, and the fact a lot of them had and still somewhat saw Beast King as a Vigilante despite now being part of a Government ran team. Plus, there was also the fact the local Authorities weren't too enthused about another agency in their Briar Patch so to speak but at least it wasn't the FBI so that was something. But after nearly 3 hours of looking into where Samuel Farley could be, the team had frustratedly turned up nothing since it seemed like the madman was playing it smart by staying in hiding.
The search had also unfortunately turned up another murder done by the man's hands, this time on a Scott Paulder. Whom hadn't been able to make to the Class Reunion thanks to being sick and had been on the Football team with Jack and Tad back in the day and was among the many who had picked on Sam back then. His frozen body was shattered, leaving no possibility to thaw him out to try and save him and his wife and kids were horribly traumatized by the whole thing. Barely speaking a word and Recondo remarking that it had been fortunate they hadn't been present for the attack when it happened. As who knows if Farley would've done the same to them as he'd done to Scott. Afterwards, the team had finally chosen to split up to cover more ground where potential victims for Farley to go after were concerned since there had been a few like Paulder who hadn't gone to the Reunion for whatever reason.
Bulldog and Lionheart would head towards the local Stark facility in the area just in case Farley showed up due to the man having been fired by the company at some point prior to his becoming the Surf Master. Ace and even Craig to an extent, would be quietly grateful for the fact that Paul had chosen to stay back at the base since this wasn't something he really could deal with thanks to how innocent he was. "Mates, the Scanner's picked up a possible sighting of the Surf Master in a residential area. Long Range and meself are heading there now."
"Stay safe and if he's there, report immediately! Do not engage on your own!" Ordered the Yankee Clipper.
Seconds later, Virus and Long Range were in the area thanks to the Mass Device and it was safe to say the neighborhood was in chaos. "WHERE IS SHE!? WHERE'S THAT STUCK UP SNOB WHO TURNED ME DOWN FOR A DATE!?" Roared out the Surf Master as he randomly blasted things with his surfboard's laser beam.
The Surf Master having gone there to find one of the Starlets that lives there to have a word with her about turning him down, only to find she wasn't even there much to his annoyance. "Clipper, this is Long Range, Surf Master is in the area, get here now!"
Virus could be seen helping anyone who had fallen up so that they could get the Hell out of dodge and Long Range quickly did the same as the rest of the team teleported in via the Mass Device and Velocity immediately started helping Virus help anyone that needed it. "Long Range, find a vantage point for your line of work and report in once you do." Ordered the Yankee Clipper and the Sniper nodded in grim understanding before taking off.
"Samuel Farley, aka the Surf Master, you are to stand down immediately and surrender yourself to us!" Declared the Yankee Clipper to the murderer.
Helpfully catching his attention in the process. "And who the Hell are you to get in my way!? Are you why Camry Lee isn't here!?"
"We're the West Coast Misfits, son, and we've been tasked with bringing you in!"
"Good luck with that! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Replied the man and used his laser beam to fire on the team.
Forcing them to scatter to avoid being hit. Wildstar was firing blue energy blasts from his claws at the Surf Master while Darkstar used his eye laser and Red Dragon, seeing this wasn't working and commenting on it, rose into the air to chase after the man thanks to his ability to fly with Jack following along in a Bird form. Forcing the rest of the team to be more careful about their long range attacks so they wouldn't hit the two in the process. But then a shot courtesy of Long Range to the surfboard's engines sent the Surf Master careening towards a two story house and crashing into it. "Proceed with caution! Long Range, remain where you are! Red Dragon, Beast King, down here with us!" Ordered the Yankee Clipper as the two flew down to re-join the ground team.
Nodding their understanding, the team minus Long Range cautiously approached the house and both Wildstar and Lionheart had their claws ready just in case. As fate would have it however, the Surf Master wasn't content to wait for them to come to him as he'd come running out the door with a yell. His outfit and its tech ruined in various places and blood coming down the side of his face. "I'LL KILL YOU ALL, YOU MOTHER *#^#ERS!"
Unfortunately for him, he was facing a team with a good amount of experience and Bulldog, deciding not to waste anymore time on the sick man, decked him with enough force to knock him out. Bringing the man's reign of terror to an end as he slumped to the ground unconsciously. "Well, that was kind of anti-climactic." Quipped Velocity, but he was grateful none the less.
"Meh, it works well enough either way." Remarked Virus with a shrug.
As with this being over with now, he could go back to uninterrupted day dreaming about a certain Wavedancer. Sirens could be heard in the distance while the Yankee Clipper cuffed the knocked out Surf Master and the residents of the area cautiously approached the team.
Author's Notes: I could've made this longer but I felt this was the way to go. Although I did have one scenario in mind where Long Range ended up shooting the Surf Master in the spine.
