A Little While Later Back in Burbank
Once the team had returned to the Burbank Base after helping the Local Authorities escort Sam Farley to a cell, they all headed to the briefing room for a debrief with Trojan. "I still think this is a bad idea but from the sounds of it you all did get the job done." Grunted Hardcase from the doorway of the briefing room before walking off.
Craig sneered at the man's back. "He acts like we're a bunch of Rookies." Bulldog remarked with a shake of the head.
"Jester's pranks are probably messing with his head." Theorized his sister, gaining chuckles from the others as they all went inside the briefing room.
Where Trojan was waiting for them and even smiling! "Welcome back, team, and congratulations on a successful ending to your mission."
This made the team happy to hear. "I also just got off the phone with Malibu's Chief of Police and he's got it on good authority Farley's gonna be in prison for life. Likely even be placed on Death Row for his crimes."
"Sick freak deserves it after what he did to those people." Muttered Craig with the others agreeing with him.
"Furthermore, while he states he's more than happy to work with us again, he'd rather Ace keep some distance so the women on the Force aren't all that distracted."
Ace, more amused than offended by that, chuckled. "The Starr Charm with the ladies in action once again, folks."
Trojan rolled his eyes good naturedly thanks to the fact he had already seen the so called Starr Charm in action himself on the base. "I'm so glad that's skipped me." Craig said with a shake of the head much to the amusement of the others on the team.
As it was way too much of a damn headache for him! "I dunno, I don't think it has." Ace remarked thoughtfully with a grin
Getting himself a scowl in the process. "Heh, with that said, go get some rest as you all deserve it."
Not needing to be told twice, the team quickly left aside from the Yankee Clipper to further discuss the recent mission with Trojan. Craig himself went off to see how his brother was doing, who was rather apologetic for not being part of the Mission but Craig wouldn't hear of it. Telling him it was fine as he knew there was just some things some people couldn't handle and for Paul, this was clearly one of those things.
Meanwhile, In Clara's Room
In the bedroom of one Clara Starr (formerly Creed, thank her lucky stars), her hands were shaking as she finished reading through the letter she'd received while the others minus Kyle were out on their mission. "Oh God…" She whispered fearfully.
For this was not something she'd been prepared for and wanted to kick herself for not thinking this could happen. For her 'loving' brother, Victor 'Sabretooth' Creed, had sent her the letter in her hands. Telling her he wanted to meet up for the first time in decades since they had so much catching up to do and causing her to feel a huge amount of fear for the first time in a long time. "I… I need to warn the others. Especially my boys."
Because if given the chance, Victor would surprise all of them in the worst way possible just to get his sick version of a Family Reunion going. And no way in Hell did she want that bastard trying to warp the boys, Ace especially to his way of thinking if he managed to get ahold of them! Which had been one of the many reasons she had kept as far away as possible from her brother after Saul's death and the final beating she'd gotten from Victor before getting the Hell out of dodge. Keeping as low a profile as she could in order to keep him from tracking her down, even though that wasn't always do-able for various reasons. But now, now her worst nightmare was beginning to come true. I can't run this time… Not when there's so much more on the line…
If she had too, she'd reach out to Jimmy in order to get an extra line of defense going to deal with their brother. And if things went the way of Saul… Well… Clara wouldn't turn away from Jimmy this time.
Author's Notes: Ohh boy. As folks remember with the original version, Paul (Starr) was part of the Mission but I got to thinking as I remembered how innocent and pure L1's characterization of him was (I might be remembering wrong though) and realized he more than likely wouldn't be suited to dealing with that kind of a Mission. And given there's two Pauls… I imagine that might be confusing and I'm considering what to do there with that.
