Chapter 58
Rockin' Out
Disclaimer: No real big changes aside from removing the Xavier Institute being moved elsewhere portion.
"For those who've rocked out with us tonight courtesy of the former Senator Kelly, we salute you!" Came Ace 'Wildstar' Starr's voice on the microphone atop the modified rooftop of the house of the now former Senator Kelly in Bayville, New York.
After the incident at the Simonson Strip Mall that took a week for Craig to wake up from, and the downfall of Senator Kelly after some remarks of his, it'd been decided by both Misfits teams to put one more nail in the man's coffin. Said nail being a huge ass party at the home he still owns two weeks later in Bayville with the claim it was the man's idea. Now both teams were still denying any and all involvement they had been behind the leak of Kelly's actions and it had ended up working in their favor as another group came forward with the claim they were behind it known as the Mutant Liberation Front. Or the MLF for short. No one knew what they looked like thanks to the fact they kept their faces hidden in shadow but the Misfits weren't exactly all that eager to find out since it meant the heat was essentially off them now!
And since a good portion of Bayville weren't friendly towards Mutants, having the party in that town was just another reason to do it as a way of getting back at the residents and a certain Mayor. And thanks to Ace having been around for a few decades now, the Feral Mutant knew some people who knew some people that could help get the party going and even keep it on the downlow until it got started since the Misfits didn't want anyone trying to stop it before it could really get going. Getting it started proved to be a loud affair thanks to the speaker set up and a Heavy Metal band and Lance himself would take to dressing up as Kelly for the whole event and generally mocking the Hell out of the man much to the amusement of many. And due to Craig still healing and his not being a fan of attention, he had opted to remain back in Burbank and so that he could drive home the point that once again, it wasn't Clara's fault for what had happened to him with Sabretooth.
That if anything, he should've gotten the Hell out of dodge instead of trying to take on the savage Mutant on his own. "Yes, that's right! If you all stay here after this final song, you will be put on a Registered Act of some kind! You can't stay here but you don't have to go home! And I'm sick of you destroying my home and its property values! Just sick I tell you! Sick!" Threw in Lance, still dressed as Kelly and holding a brown bottle containing water in it on the stage.
That got him some light hearted boos from the crowd and Lance would act offended by it much to the amusement of everyone there. The first rays of the Sun could be seen as well thanks to the fact the party had been going since the previous evening and Xavier, when he found out about it, had expressly forbade anyone at the Institute from going to the event with promises of harsh punishments if they went and were found out. As he believed this party was a very foolish thing to do and would no doubt cause harm to Mutant/Human Relations. And thanks to Ace seeking out open minded individuals all through out the various levels of the Entertainment Industry thanks to connections of his, Xi had found himself the center of attention from a number of adoring people. More specifically, those who worked in the more Adult oriented side of the Entertainment Industry thanks to his innocence and the fact he had no interest in sleeping with anyone thanks to his origins.
Lina, shockingly enough, had taken to setting up strip poker tournaments with several big fellas that of course naturally included Fred and some other women who liked big men. Some had thought Lina was actually drunk to have done this but as it would be found out during the night, she has a thing for big men. Lina also at one point, decided in a bold move of teenage rebellion, to make a shout out to the Chakram family thanks to the live feed Ace had going through out the night and decidedly pissing them off more than what they already were towards her! She had also done this as she had figured out that the hate mail she'd been getting recently was coming from them and felt this was a great way to get back at them. Cover Girl would be mightily proud of her for this too. Spyder, the Triplets, and Kyle were all heavily put out by the fact they weren't allowed to be at the show and so was Shipwreck for that matter.
But considering he had essentially turned over a new leaf where sobriety and being an adult was concerned, it was for the best. That, and to be able to claim plausible deniability by the adults in GI Joe when they were raked over the coals to find out if they had any knowledge of the show being an idea that came to life. Kid Razor himself had even managed to show up for the fun at one point with Cleveland's own Mayor Howard and Cherry Bomb along for the ride while Ace had also brought his own band, 'The Ballroom Blitzers', for the event as well. And thanks to Jake and his connections courtesy of the Wildfire name, there was even a few Wrestling matches here and there that he himself had participated in with his father joining in on the fun! The Cleveland Jammers outside of Cherry Bomb and Mayor Howard had also chosen not to attend the party since they had various responsibilities of their own to deal with at the time.
There would also be rumors for a good long while after this night that Lance at one point had pulled off a threesome with Betsy AND Willow thanks to Willow and Pietro showing up for the fun. Furthermore, it'd be said that Pietro had started this rumor for the Hell of it and in the hopes that Kitty would hear about it and essentially go nuts. Regardless if he had started the rumor to begin with, the Speedster would end up in the dog house with that trio and his sister for a good long while. The rest of the Misfits all pretty much had a lot of fun through out the night doing various things though the event wasn't necessarily all fun and games thanks to some angry residents and members of the FOH and Purity. Which, thanks to Ace having the bright idea to buy out every weapon the weapon store in the local Mall had in disguise, they weren't even able to have those to use against the party and those there.
Pietro's speed was also pretty helpful in disarming those who had brought weapons as well and some very sound ass kickings had been given to those who had tried to ruin the party with their displeasure and hate. Eden would even send the FOH and Purity members to somewhere in Minnesota after they had all been knocked out while those local that got involved had been placed a few miles outside of the city. As Kiss' 'God Gave Rock and Roll To You' began to play, the members of the Misfits present all got up on stage to rock out with Lance, Ace and Paul Starr, Razor, Howard, Cherry Bomb, the Ballroom Blitzers, and a few other Music acts. Lance, Eden, Todd, Arcade, Althea, Jennifer, and Howard would all jump from the 'stage' to go crowd surfing as the song played.
All in all, it was a good time despite some attempted trouble making and some consequences that would later develop.
Author's Notes: Hope folks enjoyed and glad I was finally able to get this one done! Up next will be something of a time skip but not necessarily a major one. Albeit, I've got a new idea in mind to replace the events of the original chapter that will be akin to outright chaotic that even RW herself would probably love!
