Chapter 67

N'Dare Academy

Disclaimer: For some reason I thought N'Dare was the name of the village Storms mom came from but its the name of her mom, glad I checked that. Anywho, on with the show!

N'Dare Academy, so named (and re-named to such by Storm herself) a school that Ororo 'Storm' Munroe had been sought out by those in the New York System to take over when she and Yukio had been in the area. A school that is located in District X, or Mutant Town as its tended to be referred too as as it was felt her experiences teaching at Xavier's would be beneficial. And while she had had her doubts, Yukio and being around the children and those actually willing enough to do their part to help teach had helped put her doubts aside and do what she could. For the children needed her experience and over all, ultimately needed an education. Thusly, becoming the head of the school in the process and choosing to re-name it in honor of her mother. A problem however is that the school was facing being shut down due to lack of being able to succeed in educating the kids there, poor funding, and the District as a whole not being the greatest.

Not to mention those like the FOH being an issue and at the end of the day, Storm was essentially the school's last hope. And she and Yukio were certainly doing their best to help and had even sought out advice from those in Cleveland considering their experiences where running a school was concerned. Reaching out had certainly helped but only so much as their benefactor had shown some reluctance in providing financial aide given the very real potential aspect of the school being shut down. And though things were certainly a struggle, Storm couldn't deny that she was enjoying educating young minds again, even if there was the challenge of how best to train some of the kids in their abilities that would best benefit from the training given the lack of resources to do so. But then came something she wasn't expecting, help, from Emma Frost of all people! "You are serious?" She asked as she met with Emma in her office at the school, Yukio by her side.

"I am. Being a teacher has always been a passion of mine, Ororo, and I wish to help you here despite our past history. I can even provide funding as well given my resources."

"Well, we can definitely use the help. Some of these kids are pretty stubborn but that's also kinda the fun of it." Grinned Yukio while Ororo tried to wrap her head around the whole thing.

Especially given that not only was Evan in the office with them, but so was Scott! "If it helps, Storm, I can vouch for her, Evan, Celandine, Monet, and Sinew. Especially after everything we all went through together to put an end to Sinister and Pierce."

"I… I need to take some time to think." Was all she said after several minutes and gained nods of understanding.

"I'll help her out with that, no worries." Winked Yukio while Evan wondered if there was more going on between his Aunt and this woman.

In the end, Storm agreed to give them a chance and it would turn out to be a very good thing to do as their aide in helping with the students and with funding proved very beneficial. To the point of preventing being shut down and Emma would even use her resources to help the District itself and its residents become better.
