A Little While Later

An anxious group in the waiting room of the nearest hospital that one Spencer 'Sonic Blue' Burton had been rushed too after his rather brutal encounter with his former track mate, Keith 'Redfoot' Michaels, all arose when a Doctor appeared and bee-lined towards them. Chief among the anxious group was Kid Razor himself, Spencer's mother; Delilah Burton, the Chief of Police, and several of his long time friends in the form of Chunk, Randy, and Hannah. Only these individuals for one reason or another had known about Spencer's being Sonic Blue as anyone else knowing just wasn't something that needed to be done. But in the aftermath of his defeat at the hands of Keith Michaels and it being filmed, the secret was out big time. Prompting the Chief of Police to ensure protection was placed on Ms. Burton, Chunk, Randy, and Hannah and as well as around the hospital to be on the safe side. "How's my son!?" Demanded to know Delilah urgently.

Dr. Nancy Nicks immediately answered, knowing that trying to get privacy for this with the mother was not going to be do-able whatsoever. "Mr. Burton will make a full recovery, but it is going to take some time, perhaps six months to a year before he's fully recovered. As while his spine wasn't heavily injured in the attack, it is going to need some time, along with the rest of him. Frankly, he's lucky that maniac wasn't able to paralyze him like he was clearly intending on doing."

She didn't need to state how much worse that could've been either as the group sighed in relief. "Its also likely it'll take even longer for him to be back on the streets as Sonic Blue due to the amount of damage the suit took." Stated the Chief with a frown on his face.

The lack of Sonic Blue on the streets would mean an increase in Criminal activity but the Chief was confident his Force could handle them. And if not… He'd reach out to someone like Kid Razor even if that was the last thing he'd rather do thanks to the Rocker's loudmouth and penchant for chaos. "May I see my son please?"

"You and one other can at this time but for now, he is asleep and will remain that way for some time." Replied Dr. Nicks gently to the mother.

Nodding in understanding in a grateful manner, she looked to the others but they all insisted she go on her own first so that she could have some privacy. Something Delilah was secretly thankful for with the Doctor showing her the way, leaving the others on their own. "Michaels is gonna pay for what he did to Spence!" Hissed Chunk angrily.

"We just have to find wherever he's hiding." Hannah added.

"And since he's clearly not a Mutant, we can't ask them to help locate him." Randy stated with a frown of his own.

"Yeah, well, the Kid of Rock says that one way or another, that asshole will get what's comin' to him! No matter how long it takes!"

"An APB has already been issued for Mr. Michaels but we may want to consider moving Mr. Burton somewhere more secure so that he can't easily get to him."

As the Chief had little doubt the unstable man wouldn't be content to hide in the shadows for too long once it was revealed that Spencer Burton is alive. Razor frowned in thought for a moment. "The Kid of Rock will ask around about that. Dunno if the Jammers will do it but since he teaches at their school, they just might."

"Do it, sooner the better."

Razor grimly nodded and left to do exactly that while once again thinking of how Michaels had been placed at number 2 on his list of asses that needed kicked with Selene right at the top.

Elsewhere, AIM Facility

"While you have been successful in bringing down Sonic Blue, my friend, it has come at a cost." Declared the figure who recruited Keith Michaels for AIM's purposes.

Keith himself frowned unhappily as that couldn't mean anything good and asked what the man meant by that. "Kid Razor's attack on you has fused some of the back armor to your spine and any attempt to remove it at this point could result in total paralysis for you." Explained the man bluntly, causing a hiss of displeasure to come from Redfoot.

"Furthermore, it looks as though this has seen to it that you will no longer be able to reach 400 miles per hour due to the damage you've sustained. In fact, your suit's speed appears to match up with Sonic Blue's."

"Of course that would happen! Just when I finally get justice for what that blue bastard did to me, something has to go and f**k it up! And that something is Kid Razor! Who I'll gladly return the favor too!" Snarled an enraged Keith.

He'd shove that Guitar of Razor's so far down his throat and happily laugh as he did so! "Look on the bright side, my friend, the rest of the suit's abilities have not been impacted by this turn of events."

Keith smiled darky at being told that. "Well, that definitely is a bright spot in all this. When can I get back out there? I'd like to finish the job I started on Burton."

"We are looking into where he has been placed but for now, it is recommended you get some rest for the next few days as you'll be a part of our next operation." Informed the man.

Getting Keith's curiousity stirred up quite a bit in the process. "Oh yeah?"

"As it involves the take over of Cincinnati? I believe 'oh yeah' would be… Accurate."

"Well, that definitely sounds like a good time to me! Not like I owe that s**tberg anything."

"That's the spirit, now, go and rest, my friend."

Not needing to be told twice, Keith went and did so, leaving the man on his own. "Plus, this will give us time to implement changes to his armor to incorporate what Kid Razor did to him." Muttered the man to himself.

Amongst other things that of course would be included to ensure control of Mr. Richards in the event he chose to go rogue on them. For such a thing wouldn't do in the eyes of the superiors of AIM.

Author's Notes: I've got an idea brewing in my mind for how best to cover for Spencer's lack of being in action and I think it'll be something folks might like. Chunk, Randy, Hannah, and Ms. Burton are L1's characters. Dr. Nicks is an OC I created specifically for this chapter but anyone is welcome to use her. As for her name, I decided to take a page from L1 and use famous names from Rockers. In her case, Nancy Wilson from Heart and Stevie Nicks. I also thought it'd make sense for there to be some kind of permanent after effect of Kid Razor's first attack on Redfoot to even up the field so to speak between Spencer and Keith.
