Chapter 80
The Return
Of (Sort Of)
Killer Kelly!
Disclaimer: I had another idea I was gonna do before this one but I decided to do this first and then the other idea after. Enjoy!
Former Principal and disgraced former Senator Edward Kelly was a man on a mission. Albeit, one that was taking him several weeks to pull off given the fact he's a disgraced former Senator thanks in part to the Misfits ruining his life and having to hitchhike to get to where he wanted to go. For the drunken Hobo had finally found out where one of the Misfits was living these days and had thought the conditions made for an easy target to get revenge on. It wouldn't be enough to satiate his desire for revenge but at least the little bastard known as Lance Alvers would get what was coming to him as he'd long deserved it for his part in ruining his life! A life Kelly never was able to get back no matter what he tried as no one wanted anything to do with him much to his dismay! Worse yet, the Mutants were clearly gaining more and more of an edge over good, hard working Humans given all the successes they'd had in supposed peaceful relations. But oh no, Edward Kelly knew better than that!
Even if no one else would listen to him but he'd find a way one day, damnit! Unfortunately for him however, once he got to Miami, Florida, he'd had to spend days wondering around trying to find Lance and he was growing ever paranoid that somehow, someway, the punk was responsible for putting him through all of that hassle. Some of the things he'd gone through made him shudder and desperately shoved it to the back of his mind since he didn't want to think about those horrible moments anymore than what he had too! But Kelly did try to console himself with the fact that it'd all be worth it in the end when he finally made Alvers pay. But then it seemed as if the Angels from on High were finally looking out for him as he stumbled about on a Beach and then saw the target of his ire and his eyes widened before narrowing. "You… Its him! ALVERS, YOU LITTLE S**T!"
Meanwhile, With Lance
The day had been going great for one Lance 'Avalanche' Alvers as he and family and friends enjoyed the day as it was young Harrison's birthday. A birthday they were all celebrating at the beach and in style and Dexter had even brought his girlfriend, Hannah McKay, along for the fun of it all. Well, after ensuring it was okay with Rita at any rate since she was still somewhat skittish around the both of them given their respective histories/hobbies. The whole thing making Lance grateful to Larry Trask once again for getting him re-united with his mother and the family. Larry had also been responsible for a few other things like preventing Frank Lundy, Rita, and Brother Sam's murders, even if things had gotten a little ugly for Debra where Frank and Anton are concerned and in the end had chosen Frank. Leaving Anton to not want much to do with any of them and Lance could understand that. Larry had also been instrumental in keeping a certain writer from interfering with Hannah McKay's attempt at having a life and while Lance had been curious on that, he never asked as he felt he just didn't need to know.
His interference had thankfully kept Debra from having a single minded desire to put Hannah behind bars and since she had Frank in her life, she had yet to find out about Dexter's double life. And because of that, is one of the reasons why she felt Hannah wasn't right for her brother as it worried her the other woman might one day try something but Dexter was confident it wouldn't. "I am glad I was able to attend little Harrison's birthday." Remarked Willow softly from Lance's side and breaking him from his thoughts on things.
He looked at her with a smile on his face. "I am too." He told her and wrapped an arm around her, allowing her to sigh in contentment at being so close to him.
Unfortunately, the moment would be ruined by a voice yelling out his name and when he looked towards the source of it, he'd see an unshaven and very dirty man coming towards them and the party. "Do you know him?"
"I don't think so." Replied Lance as he couldn't ever recall seeing this man before in his life!
Quickly, he told the others he would handle this and stepped towards the unclean man with his hands up to show he meant no harm but would be forced to freeze in place when the unknown man pointed a gun at him. "I've been waiting YEARS for this day, Alvers! You hear me!? YEARS!"
Lance blinked and something clicked in his mind after hearing the man's voice. "Wait… Principal Kelly? Is that, is that you?" He asked unsurely while keeping an eye on that gun and wanting to hold his nose as damn did the man smell horribly!
The man snarled and waved his gun about in the air. "YES, ITS ME! I'M SURPRISED YOUR LITTLE BRAIN COULD EVEN REMEMBER ME!"
Brother Sam and Spirit stepped up to the two and came on either side of Lance. "This is not the way to handle things for there are better ways to do so." Spirit told the former Senator.
"He's right, God can help you find a better way." Brother Sam told the man.
Kelly stared at the two as he blinked before sneering. "SHUT UP! SHUT UP! THIS IS THE WAY! ALVERS HAS TO PAY FOR HIS PART IN RUINING MY LIFE!"
"If you weren't so deadset on trying to round us up and kill us, we wouldn't have had to do anything so this is on you." Declared Lance in a serious tone of voice despite knowing it wasn't likely to help.
And being proven right as Kelly did not like being told that at all! Prompting Spirit and Brother Sam to hold him back so he wouldn't be able to move forward until a loud bang sounded off. "AUGH! MY FOOT!" Lance yelled out in pain and earning Kelly a tackling by some of the off-duty members of Miami Metro!
A Little Later
"Former Senator Edward Kelly was arrested earlier today in Miami, Florida after an attempt to kill former Misfits member Lance 'Avalanche' Alvers that resulted in his being shot in the foot. We've been told that Lance is now resting comfortably at home after being seen too by Doctors at a nearby Hospital while former Senator Kelly will be facing some serious prison time for his actions. This is Holly Zenner at Miami 10 News."
Author's Notes: Oof, poor Lance! I never cared for the supposed in love storyline between Dexter and Debra later in the series so this completely ignores that and keeps him and Hannah happy and together.
