Justice Across Space and Time: Year 2

Chapter 33

Now for the final fight against Curator. Also I will admit me saying the villain is always using the click sounds is mostly my way of getting Justice out of the fight. Because let's be honest, it's not a lot of fun when one guy finishes the fight in an instant. And I wanted to finally debut the whole giant robot that I'd implied Melissa had been building for a while. And yes, the name is literally taken from MEGAS: XLR. I liked that show back in the day. Anyway, on with the show.

(No POV)

"Tell me….. I'm not crazy. Did an almost 100 ft tall robot just land in front of the giant whale guy?" John asked while trying to figure out if his senses were still screwed up or not. Izuku is shocked and numbly groans out a "no. It's real." Itsuka has her head tilted to the side upon seeing it as well and then starts laughing.

The two boys look at her with some shock before Kibou asks why she was laughing. "How can I not? We all thought things were crazy enough in our world thanks to quirks! Now this!?" Justice and Kibou share a look before both say "touche".

The MEGAS armor was a large somewhat blocky machine compared to the more contoured design the young heroine went with for most of her suits. With the main limb pieces being square and having her Tech Might colors of a teal and blue. With the forearms and fists being red in color to contrast. On the back were spoiler like fins and large jets to propel the machine to the battlefield. Throughout the framework of the body, there were obvious sections that could fold apart or shift to possibly reveal hidden equipment and armaments.

Many others observing, reporting, and even running away had similar reactions. "Holy shit! How long has she been sitting on using that?" Tomura asked after choking on a soda. Natalie is of much the same mind but notices that the machine wasn't quite done. "Looks like it's incomplete."

"She's ripping off my work! And badly I might add!" Wu howled upon seeing the huge robot. "Eh not really buddy. It's clearly designed more like her own suits that everyone's seen. Just scaled up to giant levels. Besides, weren't you inspired by her?" Jin commented with a shrug. Wu tried to make the argument that it was still going for a big armor for likely intimidation and that was his thing.

Dabi and Psych Link meanwhile practically blue screened upon seeing the massive machine. "I….. don't even think I can do anything against that as I am," the blue flame user admitted with some fear and awe. "Yeah, and the head. Wait there's no head there. Anyway, I'm not willing to bet I could get close enough to affect the pilot inside." Sakamoto acknowledged with a shake of her head.

They both watched as the machine landed and seemed to be powering up as Melissa and the Ramis pair got to the top of the machine. And then opened a hatch to access the interior. "I'm thinking a bit of day drinking sounds good right now. How about you?" Celine asked the patchwork villain. He grumbled that he usually doesn't drink. "But well….. you know what? Let's watch the coverage while getting a drink." Dabi says before following her to a bar.

In Daika City, all of the people watching the coverage were also dumbstruck and nervous about their future plans. "One disgruntled piece of shit waste demolished our office outside of Aomori and killed one of our agents with just a big suit! And now we've got this humongous thing to worry about?!" a patron at a okonomiya place said while watching. And letting his lunch burn on the hotplate.

The heads of Deternat and the MLA were equally unsettled. "Is there any way we can get that thing outlawed or more importantly, that mongrel deported?!" Yotsubashi angrily asked as more of his hair started to fall out. He was practically bald now thanks to all of the stress he'd been accumulating with the awakening of true metas.

"Believe me I've tried sir. But due to the fact that she's been working with and at UA all this time has given her leeway. Especially thanks to her apparently teaching some classes with the Support Course. And besides that, she's actually been helping the police and the commission with some of her scaled down equipment. Those gauntlets for one." Koku said angrily as he saw the large machine preparing to fight the whale villain.

Chitose and Tomoyasu meanwhile were also annoyed and frustrated while looking at the screen showing the fight. The former because some of her quirk focused articles and programs weren't getting as much coverage as they once had. 'It's all about these abominations and primitives now!' she angrily thought while biting her nail. Hoping she'd have a chance to turn the girl's armors into explosives to kill her with her quirk.

The latter though was more upset by something else he'd been dealing with. "Ah not again! That's another bit of data lost. What's going on? How does this person keep avoiding my security?" he asked aloud as the files from a branch in a different part of the country were destroyed. But it wasn't just the computers destroyed. Something else and someone else had a hand in it.

"Huh. Well that's impressive. Wish I had some of that kind of firepower. But I'll settle with this for now," a young man with a blue bandana around his dark black hair said while sitting in a tree. One that was opposite a building impaled with multiple hard light spires and a large hole in the middle. The young man creating a light screen before his face to watch the events unfolding. As well as combing through the data he stole from Deternat.

Back in the city, all of the civilians who had been captured or experimented on were looking up in a mixture of horror and amazement at the sight. "Okay so we've got a kaiju fight against a giant robot! This is awesome! Hey does is it just me or does it not have a head? I wonder what it can all do! What do you think the weapons are like!?"

"This thing doesn't have weapons?!" Luigi asked as he and his son were dropped into the machine. Melissa had brought them along for two very important reasons. "No! It does….. technically. They just haven't been connected and I don't have any ammo for them yet." Melissa defended while trying to type into a subsystem within the core of the body.

Only for it to short out a little as she was typing. Which was the second reason. "It's not really finished is it." Mikey asked with a flat face and a sarcastic tone. Melissa was ready to defend her creation again, but this time her statements stopped short. "Okay yeah. I haven't been working on it 24/7. If I had some really good repair and maintenance drones like back at I Island, I could maybe make an even bigger one. But right now, my MEGAS armor is just at this size. Ah! And I need to finish a few other pieces. So if you don't mind, can you help a fellow inventor?!"

The Ramis pair look at her like she's nuts before both sighed and asked if she had any tools for them to work with. "Over there. Listen, just finish the connections for the limbs. I need to jury rig something to let me control my armor for now." Tech Might said before frowning to herself. 'Maybe I need to think about rebranding myself. I've just been going by Tech Might as a homage to Uncle Might. Ah I can think about that later.'

Melissa tries to type in some commands on a console but it still keeps shorting out. All she managed to do was bring the left arm up and hold the fist up at Curator. Which took around three minutes of failed inputs. Though luckily during that time, Luigi managed to get the systems for the limbs working properly. And Mikey moved quickly to make sure all of the hydraulics and motion systems could properly move.

"This is getting nowhere fast! If only I had a way to circumvent the programming process. But its' not like I can just… huh. Maybe I can. I can't believe Kaminari's suggestion is actually coming in handy!" Melissa says before hooking some of the data cables from the console into her gauntlets. And then pulling up a few apps for fighting games.

She quickly found the programing and started linking some of the movements into her controls. "Okay. This won't be easy, but I think I can use these moves for this!" Melissa says before punching in some commands. Only for the robot to do what looked like an attack for a ki blast. And nothing happened.

This gets a few laughs after some cricket sounds and the young woman blushes from her control panel. "What just happened?!" Luigi shouts after being tossed around within the framework of the armor. "Nothing! Just trying to make it move properly!"

"Oh, it moved alright! You almost dropped me into the foot of this thing!" Mikey shouts before climbing back up to the knee joint as fast as he could. And then stopping as parts of the machine moved together and apart as MEGAS shifted itself back into an "idle" stance.

Curator laughed as the machine moved once again. "Looks like there's still some bugs to work out! But I won't let you finish! I'll finish you! Whale STRIKE!" the giant whale shouted before grabbing the ground with his hands, then pulled with his massive digits and pushed with his legs to burst forward. Aiming to headbutt the large robot before biting into it.

Melissa meanwhile had been scrolling through the sets of moves in a panic. "No! No! NO! Wait! These might work! Here!" she said after finding some attack movements and combos to link to the mechanical muscles and movement. Spin stepping to the side as Curator's head got closer. And then using a heavy backhand to knock the villain over.

Though not without some damage to the area and the whale blasting out a burst of water from his blowhole. "Whoops. Uh. I guess we'll worry about that later. Let's try this now!" Melissa puts in a few new commands. Causing MEGAS to leap up and hammer fist slam down where Curator had fallen. But the villain wouldn't make it easy and moved to the side to avoid the attack.

He then spun and struck the armor's center mass with his whale tail. This knocks them back and causes some more destruction. Melissa and the Ramiss curse as it happens, but the hero manages to stop them and avoid more damage. "You got any duct tape?! That might do us some good!" Mikey shouts as some of the hydraulics were straining and some were leaking.

Melissa quickly tosses him down a roll while deciding on the next input to use. "Oh never mind the complicated stuff. Just go with some basic punches and maybe kicks!" she finally decides before making the machine surge forward to attack the whale villain. Who roars and then clicks a few times. Hoping that it would either injure or paralyze the people operating it.

But they were deep enough inside the machine that all they heard was the pinging of the clicks against the metal. Before that click became a *crash!* as Melissa punched the villain in his very large head. Curator flinched at the impact, but he pushed through the pain to shoulder check his foe. And Melissa used this as an opportunity to knee the beast in the chest before following up with a jumping kick.

"I'm not going down easy!" Curator roars before biting onto the outstretched leg and slamming the MEGAS armor to the ground a few times. And then tossing his foe to the side and down towards the docks. So he could be closer to the water. Diving in as MEGAS was coming up from the attack. "Whale Strike!" Curator calls out before breaching the waves and charging into the armor.

"Brace yourselves!" Melissa shouts before deploying some restraint gear on herself to keep her from being launched around the interior of the armor. Luigi had to tie himself down with some of the gear he had. And Mikey….. he duct tapped himself to the safest inner wall of the MEGAS.

Before the impact, Melissa brought the fists and arms in to defend the body. But unlike in the games she was borrowing from, the hit didn't stop just because she was blocking. The giant robot was pushed back and blasted with the jet of water that Curator had recovered while diving.

After shaking off the attack, Melissa saw that the machine was now reading multiple damaged areas. "Uh any chance you can fix that quickly?!" she frantically asked before trying to evade the attack that was coming up again. That being an initial bite and then swipes with the open palms from Curator.

"She's in trouble! I have to help her!" Izuku says while stepping towards the edge of the building. He's stopped though before he can really take off. Though it wasn't John who stopped him. Itsuka had tossed out a restraining device and cable before handing it to John. "Don't do it Izuku. She needs to do this," she says with a severe look

Izuku is shocked and tries to break free from the device. "She can't beat that thing! Even with her robot!" he says in a panic while straining the straightjacket. "So you won't respect all the work she's put in and all the way's she's inspired people? She can't do it because she doesn't have the power to fight this foe?" Itsuka asks with a slightly blank look. Before it changes into an angry glare directed at Izuku.

Who freezes and his eyes widen. Turning back slowly to look Itsuka in the eye. "You should know it as well as her. And it's something I've been learning as I've been living like this. How little respect or expectations there are for people like us," she says while walking towards the floating Izuku.

As he lands, Itsuka admits she doesn't blame Izuku for being worried about her. "Who isn't afraid when their lover is in danger or pain. And you've been through it twice already. But you can't fight this battle for her. It's her fight right now. And until that robot completely breaks down, we need to respect that.

Izuku looks down and then towards the battle as Melissa had managed to get back up and use her machine to land a combo of punches and then a kick. But not before having to back away from a renewed surge from her foe. "I know you're right but….. I just," he says with a fearful look towards the docks.

Itsuka nods and says, "I know. It's the very thing my parents are worried about each time I go to school or on missions and the like." John then speaks up and admits that he's been worried about her and Sahiraah too. "But I know I can't and shouldn't stop them. These are their choices and fights."

"And all we really want or need, is for you or others to support us. Not save us." Itsuka says with a gentle smile. The green teen agrees and calms down a bit. But not before taking a jab at Itsuka by saying, "you really are the big sister for everyone." Getting a laugh from her before they both stand by to see how the events unfold.

Luigi grunts as he wraps his hand up with some duct tape. He had cut himself while repairing a few of the damaged systems. As well as getting covered in some oil as a hose had burst. Mikey quickly fixed it up, but he was somewhat injured as well. Mostly some burns and bruising from crashing around the interior of the machine.

"I don't know how much more we or the ship can take cap'n! The converters are overloaded!" he says in a lousy Scottish accent. "Not helping! And I'm working on it! I think I could finish this if I can just get my chance. I need something to throw him off or really stun him!" Melissa calls out with a grunt. Inputting commands for a few punches and then a shoulder check. Which the latter attack was countered by Curator's own shoulder charge.

Luigi hums before looking over some of the schematics that Melissa had lent them to help with repairs. "At least she wrote down everything she built into…. It. Son. Check this out!" the man says while holding up the hologram of the arm sections. Mikey gets close and sees what his father was getting at. "I'll see if I can put it together." Luigi says before heading down the left arm.

"Miss! You need to guard the left side! Dad is going to try and get you that opening!" Mikey tells her while patching a few other things on the interior. Before grappling up to the center area to check on Melissa. She's not as injured, but she isn't unscathed. Her forehead had been cut as some of the metal had broken and she was bleeding a bit into her right eye. But she couldn't look away or wipe it off.

So Mikey did that for her. "What's going on? What is your father up to?" she asks before swatting away Curator's attack and then kicking the whale hard in the stomach. Who clicks and cries out but still won't go down. "He's going to work on a piece in the arm. We think it could be made into a makeshift taser!" the young inventor explains before his father called back.

"I've got the wiring set and managed to extend some of the armor sections forward. Now we just need to reroute some power to it!" he called out while making sure the wire sections would hold long enough to finish the job. Melissa nods and tells Mikey where the power regulators were. "I think I have an idea on how to set the attack up. Just be ready!"

Curator was breathing heavy but still not giving up. "Have another Whale Strike!" he called out before charging forward once again. Clicks going off as the massive head was going towards the robot. Melissa made MEGAS kneel down slightly before pulling back her left hand and making it look like she was winding up with her right fist.

Right as the villain was getting close, Melissa shifted the position of her armor slightly to evade. And then impacted the whale villain's side with the extended points. "Do it now! Have a few million volts!" the two call out as they send as much electricity flowing through the limb and into Curator's core. While not stopping his momentum, it does make his body cramp up and leave him open for Melissa's last attack.

She uses another heavy uppercut to Curator's stomach. Causing more damage due to their opposing momentums. She then retracts the armor section on the left arm and uses a solid straight punch to knock the villain back and down to the ground. "You're going to want to brace yourselves again!" she calls out before firing the jets on the feet and back. Making MEGAS leap up into the air and then belly flop down on top of the villain while he was down.

Aside from causing a sickening crunch and making Curator cough up a number of things, it also sent a shockwave through the whole dock region and even making some waves out on the sea. For everyone watching, they all let out a collective groan of pain at seeing the body press land. "That'll do it I guess." Izuku says with a wince at seeing the attack.

"Yeah. I wonder where she came up with those attacks from?" Itsuka asked while thinking that they looked like a lot of pro wrestling moves. "Probably copied from some video game." John comments while noticing that the click noises had died down. He shook his head a few times and was glad that it seemed to be the end of the trouble. Stumbling a little as his perception started to clear up.

And then he noticed all the destruction. "Well that's not good," he said dryly as he could finally make out what had all been damaged and could now hear some people crying out. Though there were others who were celebrating the battle being over and the victor apparently being a hero. Given the color scheme was one many knew was associated with Melissa in her Tech Might suit.

And the media and onlookers cheered loudly as she and the Ramis duo appeared out of the MEGAS suit. "Wow. Didn't expect this." Mikey admitted as the reporters were looking for a way to get up to Melissa. The officers and heroes though were the first to get up and place the two other inventors under arrest.

"Well they did help in stopping a dangerous villain. And they actually do have a presence as bounty hunters and support engineers nya. Since they were willing to help, we could maybe look at them as being accessories and have them monitored. Under your supervisionyan," the cat headed Tamagawa Sansa said to trio of engineers.

With two of them being more than willing to take a plea bargain to avoid being sent to Tartarus. Curator meanwhile needed some special gear to restrain him once more and new arrangements had to be made for where he'd be incarcerated. The rest of the Wild Villains had been captured and deals had been made with the handful of various werebeasts to be taken to their home countries. To be jailed, treated for their conditions, or to simply be allowed to go as they had been in essence kidnapped to Japan.

As Ellie was being restrained after coming out of her dream, she glared at Hanabi from within her maiden. "Sir there's a problem. We never found that animal shapeshifter. He wasn't at the location the one boy alerted us to," an officer reported to Majestic. The man wondering aloud if the villain had gotten away. While a cockroach scuttled out of the debris towards the truck Ellie was in. Before changing to a mouse to move faster and then a roach again to sneak inside.

"Man. You guys had a rough time of it. And here I thought it would just be easy for you with just doing a whole modeling gig." Sahiraah joked as she appeared in a puff of smoke with her other students from Honei City. John had called her to help with sending Muna's clan home. Not to mention dealing with the various people who wanted power through turning into werebeasts.

This happened two days after the incident and battle with the Wild Villains. Partially because a large amount of time was spent repairing the city as well as those who had been caught up in it. The other reason had to do with what had been going on in Honei City at the time. "Hey. What's with Mineta? And where did he get that?" Izuku asked Sahiraah as she was creating a portal to the gap zone Muna had told her about.

The genie looked behind her to the short pervert who had been brought along with a few others for the classes. As he was holding what looked like a very old oil lamp with a mixture of sadness and happiness. "That is quite the story. Hope you've got time to hear it all." Sahiraah explained with a chuckle as the werehyenas started through the portal to their home.

So yes, I left it in the middle or so, but I'm thinking about changing Melissa's hero name. I'd been going with Tech Might as an obvious one. Much like Izuku's childhood names of being Mighty Boy and the like, I'd imagine Melissa would use it as a name to respect her uncle. But that is just it. It's nothing more than a homage for respect. It doesn't fully grasp what I want her to be as a hero in this story. So, I'd like to hear you readers' ideas on names. I've got ones like Mecha Maiden or Cyber.

On the other hand, it'll be time to go into what was happening at the same time all of this chaos was going on. And what role Sahiraah and the students she took along played in that. Please review with your ideas!
