Hey!
This scene was requested by Guest and they wanted a scene of Sandor and Grizel meeting :) It was a little difficult to include Sokeefe in here, because it was implied that Sandor and Grizel met before they became bodyguards (I made up how they met in this scene), but I managed :3 0-0 =}
Hope you like it!
BTW is it too out of character describing Grizel as "The love of Sandors life"?
"Miss Foster, I hope you weren't about to leave without telling me." Sandor said from the shadows.
Sophie jumped and clutched her heart. She was headed towards the front door, trying to get to the Panakes tree to meet Keefe. "Sandor! Were you following me?"
"It's my job to protect you, therefore I must always be near you. Now, do you want to tell me where you're sneaking off to?" Sandor raised an eyebrow.
"Just to see Keefe…" Sophie mumbled.
"And why couldn't this wait until morning?" Sandor asked, walking out of his hiding place towards her.
"I'm just…having some trouble sleeping." Sophie said, looking down at her feet.
"I think your parents would be a better source of comfort Miss Foster." Sandor assured her.
"Keefe…understands what I'm going through. I just need to talk to someone about this, and I don't want to worry Grady and Edaline." Sophie said and continued to walk to the door.
Sandor sighed but didn't make any movement to stop her. "Fine. But I expect to be coming with you."
Sophie's face morphed into a look of relief. "Thanks Sandor."
As Sandor watched Sophie go to be comforted by one of her best friends, and possibly more, he was reminded of the first time Grizel…and when he learned how important friendship was to him…
*15 years before Sophie*
It was a miserable rainy day, and Sandor was walking home from his training. At the end of the year he would finally graduate from the training academy and begin leading his own task force. He couldn't wait to prove himself of the position he was given from Her Majesty, Queen Hylda. He'd worked most of his life to gain this position, and he wouldn't give up now.
"You look upset." A voice said.
Sandor whipped around and drew his sword at the direction of the voice. "Who's there?!"
A shape slowly morphed out of the shadows of a nearby ally. Sandor relaxed a little when he found the shape to be a fellow Goblin. She was slender and when she walked toward him, he heard no sound.
"Who are you?" Sandor asked.
"Are you always this paranoid?" The female goblin said and casually pointed to his still raised sword. Sandor noticed that she was armed with many weapons, but none of them were drawn.
He sheepishly lowered his sword.
"Why were you hiding in the shadows? Were you spying on me?" Sandor said, suspicion in his tone. He sheathed his sword.
"Woah, woah, woah! Who said I was spying? Maybe I was practicing my stealth skills and I blew my cover to say something. Which you didn't reply to by the way." The Goblin said and raised an eyebrow.
Sandor looked down at the ground.
"Where are you headed? I'm going north." She said, thankfully dropping the subject, and started walking in the direction he was originally heading.
"Unfortunately, north as well." Sandor sighed and followed behind her.
"Why unfortunately?" She asked. Unlike most people who would act at a comment like that, Grizel actually looked curious, not offended.
Sandor wasn't one to trust people easily, as he was told by his sergeant. She looked harmless enough, but he also learned that looks can be deceiving…he had no doubt that she was as deadly as she was sneaky. For some reason, this fact actually made him trust her enough to tell her a bit of information about himself.
"I'm not the best at small talk." Sandor said as they reached a steady walking pace.
"Well look who's being open with his feelings!" The female Goblin said teased.
Suddenly they reached an intersection. They stopped, knowing that they had to go in opposite directions.
"Guess this is it Mystery Guy." The Goblin said.
Sandor wondered what it was about her that made him actually want to keep talking to a complete stranger…maybe it was wishful thinking, but he was sure that this wouldn't be the last time they'd meet.
As if reading his mind, the female Goblin smiled and said, "Next time, maybe you'll tell me what's on your mind."
"Maybe." He said. Then he turned and started walking in the other direction. But he heard a voice before he could get far.
"Hey, Mystery Guy, I'm Grizel. You got a real name?" Grizel grinned and raised an eyebrow.
He smiled. "I'm Sandor."
