Tammy looked out at the ocean. She knew the water was still too cold for swimming, after all, it was June in New England, but she just couldn't resist the urge to dive in.
"We've got a volleyball net if you want to play," one of her friends called out."
"No thanks!" she called back. "I feel like taking a dip."
"You sure about that?" another girl laughed.
Tammy tossed off her t-shirt and shoes, and ran on out toward the water. The wet sand was chilly, but she waited for the waves to hit.
She instantly regretted her decision.
