Alright here's the rewrite of this chapter. I can't believe it took me thing long.

Name: Luz Butterfly

Physical Appearance: Luz is a fifteen-year-old mewman girl of average height. She has tan skin and brown eyes. She also has dark brown hair.

Outfit: Luz's current default outfit consist of gray overalls with a goat design embroidered in the front, and a rainbow colored shirt underneath it. She also wears a purple headband with curved horns. She wears black boots with a snake design on them. Additionally she currently wears bandages that completely cover the lower portion of her face which includes her cheek marks.

Cheek marks: Unknown

Wand Form: The Royal Magic Wand in Luz's possession takes the form of a magic pen. It's appearance is that of a beautifully crafted navy blue fountain pen with a golden tip and similar gold inlay circling the head. While in its center there is what seemed to be a radiant orange lightning bolt shaped crystal embedded.

Luz Butterfly was just like any other kids in Mewni.

Excitable. A love for battle. Eager to learn magic. Causing mischief and just having fun. You know? Kid stuff!

Except...she's not exactly like other kids for she was also the heir to the throne of Mewni as she is a member of House Butterfly, the ruling House of the Butterfly Kingdom.

Yeah...before anyone asks, it's not as cracked up as it sounds to be royalty.

There's the harsh lessons, the responsibility, the endless pressure that you have to be a good princess unless you want to become a bad queen and end up crystallized forever like the Queen of Darkness.

Despite all that Luz had made the best of her situation as much as she can.

She always made sure to always look on the bright side of things...

She made friends(with mixed result), got a relaxing hobby like origami and did her best to be a good princess even if sometimes the stress almost causes her to lose her mind and even pulled a sword on her tutors.

However today was different. It was her 14th birthday and as tradition dictated to show her status as heir to the throne she was to receive the Royal Magic Wand, an artifact of incredible power and the symbol of her family's authority and power.

As such there was a wand receiving ceremony which could have gone better due to an incident where the entire castle got infested with snakes and spiders that may or may not have been her fault because her nerves got the better of her.

It was a miracle that she did not get sent to St. Olga as fortunately her mother, Queen Camila had instead decided that she should expand her horizons on another world.

Which was why she was currently in a dimension called the Demon Realm, a realm of magic, witches and demons(Not Underworld Demons)...and all sorts of other weird and awesome stuff.

She would have been so fascinated by the place if she wasn't so nervous right now sitting on carriage right next to her maid Lusina who was steering the carriage pulled by the royal Liondragon who she called Spot.

Lusina has been a maid of House Butterfly for as long as she could remember. She has come to see her as like an older sister of sorts. The grumpy sarcastic type of older sister that is.

"How come I couldn't go to that Hexside place? Everyone seemed so nice...except for that triclops but still" Luz asked. She and her handmaiden had been looking up a potential school to enroll her in. So far they had gone through ten with the most notable being St. Epiderm and Hexside. Although she didn't like St. Epiderm due to how snobbish everyone was over there while Hexside had a nice atmosphere and even some friendly students but for some reason Lusina didn't want to enroll her there.

Luz briefly wonders if it was because Lusina made the triclops cry when they got on her nerves.

"Because I will not have you enroll in some soft school that will go easy on you. Queen Camila already does too much of that. You already rejected the best school there is" Lusina snapped, her tone irritated

"St. Epiderm sucks" Luz muttered

"And what about Carpal Academy?" Lusina inquired about one of the previous schools they visited

"I didn't like the curriculum"

"Femur High?"

"They don't have a pool"

"Magica's Girl's Academy?" Lusina's eye was now twitching clearly irritated by Luz's reasons for not liking the earlier schools. They had explored nearly the entire Isles trying to find a school and Lusina was about to lose it.

"It smelled funny..." Luz said sheepishly while avoiding eye contact. Sebastian, her pet crow who was perched on her shoulder seemed to give her a look of judgement for that comment but otherwise remained silent and calm despite the tension.

"Oh for the love of corn" Lusina face palmed "You're lucky the Queen told me to find a school you like otherwise I would have sent you to St. Olga by now"

Luz shuddered at the mention of St. Olga. She heard how it was a school that would strip you of your individuality according to rumors from other princesses. To think her family considered sending her there too. Well she might as well go for a low blow "You're just salty because your boyfriend broke up with you" Luz muttered under her breath but unfortunately her sister still heard

"What was that you brat?!"

"Nothing!"

Lusina growled "You keep that up and you're gonna be a total Luz for the rest of your life" she said focusing her attention on the road

"What do you mean a by total Luz?" Luz questioned although she already had a feeling she wasn't going to like what her maid was going to say.

"Weak. Incompetent. Soft. Naive. It's an official now word in the Mewman Wordtionary under my suggestion of course" Lusina explained before she pulled out a wordtionary with a page bookmarked. She handed it to Luz who opened the page and to her shock her name was now in the wordtionary with the definition Lusina just said accompanied by an image of her chaotic wand ceremony.

"You made my name an insult?! And when did you have the time to get my picture at the wand ceremony you weren't even there!" Luz exclaimed before her maid took the book from her.

"Because...I can. And until you toughen up and get your life in order that word will remain in there as a warning to future princesses" Lusina said with finality in her tone

Luz's eyes widened at that. She briefly pictured in the future where her name is used to scare the newest heir to the wand into behaving. She wanted to argue but Lusina cut her off.

"Enough. We're here" Lusina stated as the carriage stopped.

Luz looked around and noticed they were once again in front of a school, this time called "Glandus High"

"Glandus High?" Luz tilted her head while reading the sign before she witnessed two students suddenly get into a fist fight.

"Now this is better. Don't even think about getting out of this one. This school should be able to get you toughen up and its one of the top three. Still don't know how Hexside is rivals with this place" Lusina muttered "Come, let's get you enrolled brat" she called impatiently

Luz blew a raspberry at her maid in response.

"Don't think I didn't saw that you brat! Come on! I still have to explain to you the rules during your stay here!" Lusina snapped at Luz who jumped in place "And don't forget to keep your concealment charm on. We don't want the locals asking too many questions"

"Yeah Yeah. I remember!" With that Luz ran after her maid to join her as they entered the school grounds. Seriously it felt weird having pointy ears because of the charm that allowed mewmans like her to blend into the local population. Fortunately all it changed was her ears though there are other options she can check it out later.

Though right now she couldn't help but feel excited. She was going to magic school! It was definitely a lot better than her private tutors who act like elite snobs or when her family personally taught her specially Lusina and her grumpy grandma Etheria

"Definitely a lot better than Lusina and the old hag" Luz muttered

"I heard that you, brat!"

Gavin Deamonne, a young 14-year old witch with dark skin, dark blue eyes, spiky dark purple hair, and a small mole on the left side of his mouth, sat in his history class looking absolutely bored like everyone else in the room as their history teacher went on about his subject which was considered the most boring one by nearly every student in Glandus... though it probably has more to do with how the teacher is so damn boring while talking about it.

He looked to Angmar who he saw was secretly reading a book on butterflies underneath his desk while Bria...was once again nowhere to be seen and was probably skipping classes again.

'Probably looking for another treasure map' Gavin thought in amusement.

Yep. Just another boring day at Glandus High. Oh what he would give to get some excitement in his life. Don't get him wrong he loves going on adventures with his friends but lately it has always been the same thing which has gotten stale. They would find a treasure map, get said treasure, sell said treasure for profit and rinse and repeat. It would be nice to shake things up for once.

"Alright Class! Eyes up here!"

Gavin jumped in surprise, he sighed and forced himself to look at the professor

The teacher smiled and clapped their hands "Today I have a special treat for all of you dear children" there was a glint in his eyes.

Gavin froze.

Oh no. He recognized that look.

It was a look that promised suffering for the entire class by making them do something unexpected...like a pop quiz!

"Today you shall all be taking...a pop quiz!" The teacher let out a toothed grin

Oh no no no! He didn't know there was going to be a quiz! He didn't even study for it and he wasn't paying attention to class.

But luckily as if the Titan itself had heard his prayers, the school's PA system suddenly blared to life.

"Gavin Deamonne, to the principal's office. Gavin Deamonne, to the principal's office," Came the Principal's voice from the PA System "You are excused for the day"

"Oh thank Titan" Gavin whispered to himself before immediately getting up.

He ignored his classmate's whispers about how Principal George is finally going to expel him for his weird taste in food even by boiling Isles standard. Screw them they just don't have good culinary taste.

He also couldn't help but grin as the others whisper about how unfair it was that he gets to skip the pop quiz

He briefly saw Angmar give him a similar dirty look as the other students shot.

'No fair' Angmar mouthed to him

'Suck it' He mouthed back with a sly grin

Without wasting anymore time Gavin hurried to the principal's office in the Great Lodge which was thankfully not too far from the Abomination Lodge where his history class takes place. When he arrived he saw Principal George talking to someone who looked like they were a maid from the medieval era. However when he got a closer look he couldn't help but notice how...pretty they were like wow!

The woman had tan skin, bushy orange hair. They had a very pretty face and a nice figure. He saw that they wore what seems to be a dark blue long-sleeved shirt, a teal ruffle shirt with a yellow star in the center, dark blue tights, brown pants, brown boots with blue puffy cuffs and heels, and a feathered hat.

Gavin couldn't help but feel intimidated by the woman especially when they suddenly turned to face him with a intimidating look on her face.

"Is that him?" the woman says in a very monotone voice as if she was bored.

"Ah there he is, Come, Gavin! I have a very important job for you." Gavin gulped nervously before walking up to the two tentatively.

"This here is Lady Lusina of Mewni and she would like to enroll this fine young lady at our school. So I am giving you the job of seeing her through a tour of the school and the Isles as her guide" the Principal explained with a hint of nervousness in his tone.

"Um can I ask why me specifically?" Gavin couldn't help but ask. He wanted to know what the principal meant by him being a guide. The only time he was a guide was when Angmar needed help baking a cake for his girlfriend which didn't even end well.

Also what kind of place is Mewni? He has never heard of a place like that anywhere on the boiling Isles before.

Suddenly the principal crouched right next to him before whispering "Because this particular new student is very important and despite your less than stellar performance in class you are one of the more friendlier student in Glandus High that won't eat someone alive for being a new student because you're a nice kid. Plus your status as Head Witch Deamonne's nephew should protect her from any hazing attempts from the other students"

"Oh. That" Gavin couldn't help but smile sheepishly. Glandus High had a reputation for being a rather...intense school something he was aware of when he first transferred from St. Epiderm. The only reason he wasn't subjected to any bullying or hazing by other students for the most part was because Darius, the current head witch of the abomination coven, was his uncle and everyone did not want to mess with a coven head's family which came with merits but it also came with...issues

"And you're the Teacher's Pet right?" The principal asked

Gavin gawked at that "What? No I'm not! The only reason people call me that is because I don't act like a jerk towards you guys!" he was well aware of that little title he got. When he first moved to Glandus one thing he noticed was how rowdy students got even with the teachers who had to be aggressive just to keep everyone behaved. All he did was act like a decent person towards the teaching faculty and before he knew it everyone called him teacher's pet with the faculty using it as a term of endearment and the other students using it as an insult. Either way he didn't like the nickname at all. It felt demeaning.

Just then Lusina stepped forward and stared down Gavin who was now briefly considering the option of just running away and never coming back.

"You will not only be guiding my companion, your family will also be hosting for her stay here" Lusina explained casually

"Wait what?!" Gavin asked surprise. Ok being a guide was one thing but hosting someone?! That's a whole other can of worms. Last time he checked his parents didn't even host people let alone students in their house. Plus the fact that they were always away on business trips which left his uncle Darius as his primary guardian and him alone at home most times

"Don't worry. Your guardian have already been informed and of course you and your family will be appropriately compensated for this" Lusina added not realizing that payment was not the thing Gavin was freaking out about.

The principal laughed nervously before once again whispering "Agree to this and I will forget that little prank you and your gang did to the grudgby team last week as well as clearing you from being required to go to detention for a month.

"Alright deal" Gavin whispered back. He wanted to object but he had a feeling he couldn't say no so he might as well accept the offer. Plus getting cleared from detention was a big bonus especially after the student council recently decided to get a freaking dragon to guard it like a treasure hoard.

Just then Lusina turned to face a young girl with tan skin, brown eyes and dark brown hair tied in a pony tail who was sitting on a bench and had what looked like a crow with black feathers dotted in purple and icy blue eyes, perched on her shoulder.

Gavin saw that girl was wearing an outfit that consist of gray overalls with a goat design embroidered in the front, and a rainbow colored shirt underneath it. She also had a purple headband with curved horns. She wears black boots with a snake design on them.

Additionally Gavin noticed that the girl had bandage wrappings that completely covered the lower portion of her face

"Luz, come and meet your new guide" Lusina called over to the girl. The girl turned to them with a surprised look on her face, before she got up and walked over to them.

When the girl got close she did a curtsy before introducing herself. "Greetings Mr. witch. My name is Luz Butterfly. I look forward to you being my guide here" the girl said in a very polite voice.

Gavin almost immediately knew that Luz and the scary woman was from a rich family with that introduction. The way she did that curtsy was a classic rich kid move.

'Well at least she's not one of those snotty rich kids from St. Epiderm' Gavin thought. It was a bonus that this girl seemed nice. He always hated when he had to interact with spoiled rich kids so it would hopefully be more bearable hosting this Luz girl due to her being more humble...unless it was just an act she was putting up in front of other people.

He still remembered those assholes from St. Epiderm. He had no regrets getting expelled just for punching that smug bully in the face. Though his uncle had been disappointed with him for letting their words get to him.

Though act or not he couldn't help but notice that Luz looked kinda cute but he immediately pushed the thought away especially when he noticed the crow on her shoulder kept staring at him which was unnerving.

"Nice to meet you too. I'm Gavin. Gavin Deamonne" Gavin offered a handshake which the girl seemed to accept rather eagerly and even shook it gracefully. He had to hold back a shudder when he noticed that the crow on her shoulder was still staring at him! He thought it was a palisman at first but it didn't have a wooden texture.

Seriously its like that crow's eyes look like its staring right at his very soul and was judging him.

"Right. Now that you have been acquainted I must be off. I trust you to be on your best behavior, Luz and not fuck this up like the wand ceremony or so help me corn I will drag your ass to St. Olga" Lusina said sternly to the girl who rolled her eye at the woman

Gavin almost did a spit take at how the woman went from sophisticated rich type to crude at the drop of a hat.

"I understand, Lusina" Luz said though the moment Lusina turned around, the former suddenly flipped them off much to Gavin's surprise

Just then a swirling vortex opened behind Lusina who immediately stepped through before the vortex disappeared as if it was never there.

Gavin had to stop himself from jaw dropping at what just happened. The woman just opened a freaking portal like it was nothing and she didn't even cast a spell circle.

"Alright. You kids have fun, I need to get the paperwork set up. Why don't you show her around first, Gavin? You are excused for the rest of the day" The principal suggested before he walked off leaving the two kids and a crow to their own devices.

Gavin couldn't help but let out an annoyed sigh at the situation he found himself in. Oh well. He might as well make the most of it. He turned around intending to talk to Luz only to do double take when he saw her cheering on a fist fight between Ukla, the captain of the grudgby team and Arges, a cyclops student from the abomination track.

"Fight fight fight!" Luz cheered along with the other bystanders.

'Maybe this won't be as bad as I think?' Gavin thought

Five minutes later, Gavin reluctantly admitted to himself that it wasn't as bad as he had initially thought; it was worse! This new student, Luz (he reminded himself of her name), was unbelievably energetic—perhaps even excessively so that her polite persona from earlier was completely gone as if she was only using it as a cover while her sister was still there which now that he think about it explains a lot with how she was now acting like a kid who was finally allowed to let loose because their strict guardian wasn't watching anymore.

As Luz trailed behind Gavin throughout the school, she skipped along the entire way, practically bouncing off the walls like an overexcited fire wolf. She displayed no signs of slowing down; not even for a moment. Luz waved enthusiastically to everyone she crossed paths with, looking at everything as if it were her first time seeing it. Her eyes sparkled with a perpetual sense of excitement and fascination.

After a few minutes of doing this, Luz finally spoke up. "Thanks for showing me around, Teacher's Pet" Gavin almost stopped walking when he heard her call him that.

"What? No!" Gavin replied in response. "Look, I don't know what you've heard about me, but it's not true. I don't get why people seem to think that I'm a teacher's pet. Oh, let me get that for you, Mr. Foxy." Gavin walked up to a teacher who had their hands full and opened a door for them. "You act like a decent person towards the faculty and the next thing you know, you're labeled for life. It's not my fault I'm not an asshole like the others" Gavin then proceeded to help multiple faculty members from stopping janitor from slipping on his own mop, carrying a few items for an elderly teacher for a moment, and even lending a teacher some snails. All the while Luz watched as Gavin continued to rant while helping people which she found endearing..

"And I heard some people calling me a safe kid which just isn't true! I literally go treasure hunting with my friends so I love taking risks! and would gladly welcome more danger into my life!" Gavin exclaimed

Luz, who was listening to him as he ranted the whole time which reminded her of when her Grandma Etheria nagged her ear off, came up with an idea.

She pulled out what appeared to be a pen with a golden tip and similar gold inlay circling the head while in its center there is what seemed to be a radiant orange lightning bolt shaped crystal embedded.

She took aim and all of a sudden her pen shot out a purple beam which, turned a flying piece of paper into a giant, person-sized paper dragon monster. Said monster proceeded to grab a nearby student and flew away with them while Gavin had instinctively hidden behind Luz.

When the monster had flown away and the student's screams could no longer be heard, Gavin turned to Luz and asked her what any person in his situation would "What the fuck was that!?"

He had never seen any spell like that before! Was that beast keeping magic? Luz didn't even cast a spell circle and she transformed what was only a harmless piece of paper into a freaking paper dragon using her pen. Was this pen some kind of palisman? But it doesn't seem to have any beasts on it. He had thought the crow was her palisman but it seems he was wrong. So many questions!

Luz on her part instead seemed amused at his question and even giggled "Sorry. I just thought that you wanted a little danger in your life!"

Hearing that Gavin couldn't help but back away from Luz, with an unsettled look on his face. He couldn't help but think that there was something wrong with this girl.

"Who are you?"

"Well if you want to know..." the girl said as she twirled her magic pen in her hand. "I'm a magical princess from another dimension." Luz then somehow created a small rainbow above her as she struck a pose only for said rainbow to suddenly catch fire for some reason.

Yeah no.

Gavin was not going to deal with this.

Nope.Nope.Nope.Nope. Just...no.

Gavin took a deep breath before giving a strained smile, "Well, that brings us to the end of our tour. I'll be going. Goodbye forever!" He then proceeded to high tail it out of there without looking back. Though he could still hear Luz calling out to him "Bye, new friend! See you later!"

"You're just gonna let that boy go?" Sebastian, Luz's avian companion who had perched himself on a nearby tree branch during the interaction between her and Gavin earlier suddenly spoke.

"Eh it's fine. The principal already gave me his home address earlier so we can just track him down later" Luz explained nonchalant

"I see. Well if you'll excuse me I will be getting a look of the land so that I know what kind of place we're dealing with" Sebastian said

"Do you have to? I mean we already did some reading about the demon realm from Uncle Lekmet's library" Luz said. Her mom had advised her to study what the demon realm is like so that she wouldn't experience too much of a culture shock when she arrives.

"Experiencing things personally is different from reading about it. Besides I need to stretch my wings. I'll be back before day's end" Sebastian announced before he took flight and left Luz on her own.

Luz wondered what to do next. Now that her maid had gone back to Mewni(probably to gamble again) and Sebastian flew off to explore, she was on her own and now she really wanted to enjoy her newfound freedom. So, she decided to do some exploring of her own starting with her new school first and maybe if she's lucky she could meet a cute classmate with a vulnerable side and acts like a tsundere.

Most of the people in Glandus High were around her age, with a few adults thrown into the mix. Despite their rough and crass appearances, the other kids were very nice. When she smiled and greeted them, some waved back while others just gave her a nod. It was way better than those nobles from the Mewnister Houses and royalties who act like they're better than everyone and just ignores you unless they needed something. What a bunch of dicks.

Of course, Luz couldn't resist showing off her magic to everyone. She waved her Wand around and performed all sorts of cool spells for people who either asked her or wanted to see more of her magic which they stated looks so cool. To her pleasant surprise, the reception she got in the Demon Realm was really positive. She was expecting a repeat of the wand ceremony.

Though when some students started asking what kind of magic she was using she had to remind herself that magic in the demon realm worked differently than mewman magic. She ended up giving a vague explanation since she was still not very much familiar with demon realm magic.

'I can't wait to learn more about this fascinating new place' Luz thought as she continued to explore the school and before she knew it classes were over. She took everyone leaving as a sign that school was over for the day. It did remind her that she was supposed to be staying with Gavin...the very same kid that ran off earlier. He sure is taking a while to come back but since school is over it made her think that he must have forgotten about her.

Fortunately the principal had given her a piece of paper earlier which had an address written down of where Gavin lives but there was one problem. She had no idea how to get there and she had forgotten to ask for a map...go figure.

Luz looked over the piece of paper and tried to figure out the location as, she unknowingly wandered into the station near Glandus where the trolleys were getting ready to head out. She then failed to realize that she had walked right in the middle of the tracks and was preventing some of the trolley from moving out.

"Hey dipshit! Get off the tracks! Some of us got places to be!" one of the Glandus students on the trolley yelled impatiently, breaking Luz's focus and startling has. She turned to see where the voice came and upon realizing where she was standing on she immediately got out of the way while giving out apologies with a flushed face.

Luz looked around and wondered if maybe anyone knows where the address on the paper was.

"Excuse me, but do any of you know how to get to uh...6867 Mucus Street? I'm not sure I read that right" Luz asked unsure. She really hoped someone would be nice enough to help her out otherwise she might have to call...her sister and she really doesn't want to receive another lecture from her.

Fortunately her call for help was answered when a shy voice called out "I know where that is" Luz turned to see a girl her age wearing round glasses and a long-sleeved yellowish-tan dress that has a blue tie with an oval chartreuse gem on it, light and dark gray striped leggings, and brown boots.

"You can? Oh thank corn I was starting to think I would never find that place" Luz let out a relieved sigh.

"Yeah, I sometimes deliver fruits and vegetables there for my dads. I can send you a map and directions on your scroll or Contact Mirror" the girl said, with a smile.

Luz had no idea what the heck a scroll this girl was referring to is, but it did sound like their version of a compact or phone and fortunately compacts from mewni are designed to be able to receive information even from other devices in other worlds both magical or technological. She quickly pulled her compact from her pocket. "Okay, share away, helpful stranger."

The stranger looked at her compact and seemed to blink in surprise "Wow I've never seen a contact mirror like that before"

"Oh uh...yeah. These are brand new model from your demon realm- I mean local shops" Luz gave a sheepish laugh. Lusine had informed her not to reveal too much to the locals unless the magic high commission had to get involve since the demon realm while they're a magical world they still weren't...interdimensional category yet so she had to be careful..of course there are exceptions. At least that's what she understood from her tutor's lectures.

"Oh, cool. Anyways I just need your name so I can send the map" the girl explained

"Luz Butterfly."

"That's a nice name. I'm, Willow Park" The girl introduced herself. "I'm guessing that you're not from around around here, are you?"

"Oh, what makes you say that? My handsome looks?" Luz jokes while shooting finger guns

Willow seem to blush at her joke and let out a cute laugh "Oh you. It's going to sound stupid but you just have that new kid vibe plus I don't think I've seen you around here before" she explained just as she finished sending the information Luz needed to her compact. "There, you should be all set. Though I can give you a lift if you want so you don't get lost"

"Thanks but no thanks. I can figure it out plus I want to look around a little more on the way." Luz explained.

"Oh, ok" Willow shrugged though if one were to look closer she seemed a little disappointed "Well I should be going too, I hope I see you around, Luz"

"See you around, too" Willow was about to leave when Luz thought of an idea "Wait! What if we trade contact information so we can keep in touch?" Luz suggested which Willow had almost immediately agreed with.

One trade later and Willow left with a skip in her step while Luz waved her goodbye.

Luz looked down at her compact for a few moments and thought about how she had just made her first actual friend in the demon realm. It felt really nice. She was definitely going to hang out with this Willow girl in the future more but for now she had a house to find.

She then looked at the map and information she got from Willow. She was about to walk her way there but she got a better idea.

"Paper Craft: Origami Dragon!" On command, a large dragon made out paper appeared out of thin air "Take me to this location please!" she held up the compact for her conjured creature to get a look at. It lets out a roar before allowing her to climb on its back before taking flight

Gavin's day had not gone the way he was expecting it to. One moment he was in class just going about his day as usual and the next thing he knows, the Principal assigns him to host some weirdo who claims she's a princess from another dimension. He had been so put off by that girl that without thinking bailed on the rest of school and ran straight home which in hind sight was not a smart move on his part knowing his uncle is gonna be mad when he hears he skipped school

I'm sure uncle Darius will understand. As long as I don't have to deal with that weird girl, Gavin thought as he walked up to his front door, where he heard his uncle talking to someone and what sounded like his honorary uncle Eberwolf laughing. To his shock, when he entered, he saw his uncle Darius and Eberwolf who was laughing at something Luz Butterfly seem to have said to them

Wait...

Luz Butterfly?!

Gavin did a double take at the scene before him. He rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't hallucinating or dreaming but unfortunately Luz Butterfly really is in his house. Oh how could this have happened. He didn't even tell her where he lives unless...his principal gave her an address...of course.

His uncle Darius seemed to have finally noticed him when he turned his head in his direction "Oh, hello Gavin I didn't see you there. Why don't you meet the new exchange student who's going to be staying with you, your principal called me earlier to inform me about her" he explained before calling over his nephew to say hello, unaware that they had already met.

Gavin just stood there, shocked still processing his current predicament. Luz, on the other hand, though immediately ran up to him with excitement.

"Hi there! You kinda left me behind back at school but luckily the principal gave me your address. I know you were probably going to come back for me but I just couldn't wait to explore the place and where I'll be staying. Your uncles are very nice by the way" Luz explained still as excited as when Gavin ditched her much to his annoyance. She continued to quickly say things but at this point he wasn't paying attention

He's just...can't wrap his head around all this.

Eberwolf then seemed to say let out a bark to Darius who seemed to nod in agreement

"I suppose you're right Eber. Having Luz's upbeat energy around the house can help Gavin here loosen up" Darius said taking a sip of tea.

Hearing that Gavin was finally pulled from his thoughts and let out a small scoff. "We could have gotten that from a direwolf puppy." He said under his breath.

Unfortunately Luz overheard him.

"I can help with that!" Before Gavin could even react, Luz pointed her Wand at the living room floor, and in a flash of light, there was suddenly what could only be described as one of the most adorable direwolf that anyone had ever seen. Darius' eyes widened in surprise meanwhile Eberwolf let out an excited squeal at the newcomer. That is until all of a sudden they grew two extra heads on each side before breathing out fire which set aflame some of the items in the living room. Darius cringed at this and was about to comment when Eberwolf suddenly jumped off the couch and began to play with the now cerberus puppy who was also eager to have some fun and started running around all over the place with Eber which only worsened the damage to the living room.

Gavin turned to glare at Luz, who could only let out a nervous laugh at what had just happened "Whoops. Sorry about that. I still haven't gotten used to this"

"Well, I have to say that is some very impressive Beastkeeping magic Ms. Butterfly. If I didn't know any better you could very well make top of your class in a week if this is anything to go by," Darius explained before he noticed that his nephew seemed rather tense "Gavin, why don't you help Luz get settled in her room?"

"Oh yeah, new room! Lead the way teacher's pet!"

"I told you not to call me that!" Gavin exclaimed as Luz then bounded up the stairs with the cerberus direwolf in tow. Seeing the girl not being fazed at being yelled at he could only let out a sigh as he drew a spell circle to summon an abomination golem to carry the trunk that seemed to have everything Luz owned in it.

However before he could follow he heard his Gavin call out to him

"Gavin, I trust you will be able to handle things from here. Eber and I have places to be" Darius announced as he got up with Eberwolf who was now on his shoulder.

Gavin paused at that "Wait so you guys won't be staying for dinner?" he couldn't help but sound disappointed. For the longest time Darius has been the one looking after him. It's because his parents were always busy on their business trips and could only send letters which left his uncle as his current legal guardian. Though because of his work as a Coven Head it meant he was also just as busy which left him alone at home most of the time which can get really...lonely.

"I'm afraid not my boy. But look on the bright side. At least you have the exchange student to keep you company now" Darius explained with a shrug which Eberwolf nodded in agreement with.

"If you say so" Gavin tried to hide the disappointment in his tone

Darius didn't seem to notice as he turned around "I'll send your allowance for the month later in the mail" with a small wave, Darius and Eberwolf had left.

Gavin could only let out a disappointed sigh before he moved to follow his new guest who he hoped had not burned down the second floor

Unknown to everyone in the house, what looked like a Frog-man can be seen spying on them from a nearby tree. They flashed an evil looking smile before he pulled out what looks like a pair of scissors which he used to open a dark sickly green portal which he immediately stepped into..

The same portal from before opened from which the frog man stepped out. He was now in what appeared to be the main hall of a dark, menacing-looking Castle deep within the territory of one of Mewni's other inhabitants, the Monster folks. The frog-man then stepped forward towards the large throne in the center of the hall, raising both his fists in salute to his master.

"Ludo, Master, I have news," The Frog-Monsters stated in a thick Russian accent. "I have located youngest Princess of Mewni. They are hiding her in a place called The Demon Realm... unguarded."

From the throne, a dark cackle could be heard from his master before he finally turned around to reveal himself. Instead of Ludo being a large fearsome monster he was in fact a pretty short kappa monster wearing a skull hat.

"Excellent work, Buff Frog. I knew that they couldn't hide that little brat from me forever. Without his mother or her guard's protection, the Wand is ours for the taking! Soon, the Wand will be mine, then Mewni, and then the universe" Ludo screamed, cackling up a storm before jumping down from the mountain of pillows he lay upon.

"Prepare our soldiers. Tonight we go to Demon Realm and take the Wand for ourselves and then we shall have our revenge!" All the Monsters yelled and roared in support before leaving to get their weapons and supplies, leaving Ludo alone by himself.

"I'm coming for you, Luz Butterfly."

It had only taken a few seconds for Gavin and his abomination to drag the trunk upstairs, though it felt a lot longer. Regardless of his feelings on the matter he might as well suck it up and try to make the best of his situation. Plus there was no point being rude to a guest.

He directed his golem to place the trunk down all the while the three headed direwolf followed him everywhere.

"Okay, here's your new room. I hope you like it," Gavin said politely. Luz looked around the room with a thoughtful look on her face as she inspected her new living quarters.

"Hmmm. Okay, I can work with this. Let me just" Luz said pulling out a notebook and read through a page. "Aha! There we are" Her face lit up after finding what she seems to be looking for. Before Gavin could even say something, Luz suddenly raised her pen and yelled-

"SPARKLE GLITTER BOMB EXPAND!"

The small guest room was covered in a flash of light before it suddenly exploded with a giant tower now jutting outside of the house in its place without warning. A few passer by outside were briefly surprised by the sudden appearance of the tower before shrugging and continuing to mind their own business thinking it was most likely just some kids in the construction track practicing their magic.

Gavin couldn't help but look in awe at the inside what had once been the guest room. Now he was standing in a two-story tower that looked big enough to fit half of his family's house inside it! Luz was now in the center of the room, bouncing on a bed that looked big enough for two people. Seriously, first Beast Keeping and now construction magic? If he didn't know any better this Luz girl is like a freaking prodigy despite how much of an airhead she acts.

"Ahh, that's better! Good thing I managed to get that spell right" Luz said happily as she bounced around on her bed.

Gavin couldn't help but be impressed at what Luz had done with the place. Even Ukla, the top student of the construction track has never done anything on this level before. "I wish I had a room like this," he said absentmindedly

"Really?! I can help with that!" Luz yelled having overheard what he said. The girl then zipped out of her new room faster than a snake horse, and Gavin quickly realized where she was headed: his room!

Before he could even stop his new roommate, she had already made it to his bedroom door, slamming it open.

"MYSTIC ROOM SUCK TRANSFORM!" As soon as she finished shouting those words, a black hole appeared in the middle of the floor in Gavin's bedroom. It then proceeded to suck up everything not nailed on the ground into the vortex

"AHHHH!" The two teens held onto the doorway for dear life, almost losing the three headed direwolf if it weren't for Luz grabbing them. After some struggle Gavin was able to cast a spell circle to close the door and leaving his room to be destroyed even further

After a moment, Gavin realized what just happened. Luz had sent all his stuff into a black hole...Including all his signed copies of Horton Hamsay's cooking books. Nooooo!!!!

"What the fuck was that?! I thought you were going to fix up my room! Not destroy it!" Gavin, frustrated yelled angrily at Luz

"In sorry! I don't know why it happened. I'm still getting used to my wand" Luz managed to squeak out. It didn't matter to Gavin, though. He just laid his head against the door to what was once his room and his prized possessions in defeat, making Luz feel guilty.

"I'm sorry, Gavin. How about a little sunshine to brighten your day," Luz softly said, summoning a little smiling sun above Gavin to cheer him up.

Unfortunately, it then proceeded to turn into a mini stormcloud, soaking Gavin to the bone.

At this point all the anger and frustration that had been building inside Gavin over the course of the afternoon finally exploded. He turned to Luz with a look of anger on his face.

"I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!" The boy yelled, not caring if he was being rude. "IF YOU'RE MOVING IN, THEN I AM MOVING OUT!" Gavin didn't even bother making for the front door; he just moved to the window and got ready to jump out to the ground below. Unfortunately, the rain had made him so slippery that he lost his balance, causing her to fall unceremoniously into the front yard.

Worried, Luz immediately ran over to the window to see if her friend was alright "Are you alright?" she asked Gavin as he lay on the ground in a heap.

"Luckily, the sharp bones broke my fall." Gavin groaned, now having bruises on parts of his body.

"Do you need any help?" Luz shouted down as the boy got back up. In response, Gavin just glared at her.

"NO! Just leave me alone!" He then ran away from his house as fast as his battered and bruised body would allow him, leaving Luz alone with the direwolf

All Luz could think about now was how badly she had messed up. It reminded her of how she also messed up the wand passing ceremony as well. All she had wanted to do since getting the Wand was to help others so she can show that she's a good princess like her great grandma something and role model, Crescenta the Eager. Instead, she angered a nice boy and even ended up getting him to run away from his own House.

"Damn it, Luz. Look what you did. You made that nice boy upset. stupid stupid stupid" Luz scolded herself while facepalming. She then sadly looked back at the door to Gavin's room, and she couldn't help but feel guilty again. Lusine was right. She is a total Luz.

"I need to make this right"

Meanwhile Gavin had made his way to the local marketplace, he had managed to heal his bruises thanks to a few healing lessons he remembered from when he dated that Healing track student.

It did little to ease his currently stressful situation after he had found himself running away from his own house. It didn't help that he was still being soaked by a raincloud that followed her everywhere and no matter what spells he did it refuses to go away! He didn't notice it before but he had just realized that for some reason the rain cloud's waters on top of him wasn't even boiling but instead was really cold which weirded him out a lot.

He had made his way to one of the stalls, in hopes of finding someone who could undo the raincloud. When that didn't work he opted to simply get a cloak so he wouldn't have to deal with the rain. Unfortunately for him, they were all out except for some pig demon but he was selling them for a price that was obviously a scam. All he managed to get was a candy bar before he was forced to leave due to getting everything wet. Although they did ask about his raincloud but ended up snapping on them out of annoyance.

This was why Gavin was now standing in an alley with a crazed look on his face all the while he was on the scroll with Angmar who he was ranting to about his situation.

"...and then she had the nerve to just barge into my house and make herself home. Like who does that?!" Gavin yelled, ignoring that other people were giving him looks

"Didnt you say that she's an exchange student or something? Maybe things work differently from their part of the isles" Angmar said from the other end. He was usually a voice of reason whenever his friends got intense...provided he wasn't being pushed around by Bria.

"She's not even from any part of the Isles because get this. She claims she's a princess from another dimension! Can you believe it? She's definitely crazy man" Gavin started walking back and forth in the alley lot like a crazy person as a mother and child walked past him. "And she even has this pen that she calls a wand even though it looks nothing like one!"

"She's from another dimension? That's actually kinda cool. Wait does this mean she's a human? But last I heard humans can't do magic" Angmar asked having become curious about the mysterious new exchange student

"How the heck am I supposed to know?! She's probably not even from another dimension. She's probably lying to get attention" Gavin had seemingly lost, and it seemed like nothing could get him out of it. That's when he turned around and saw Luz standing a few feet away from him.

"Aaah! What are you doing here?!" Gavin yelled as he immediately stepped away from Luz who he couldn't help but notice that she looks sad

Luz didn't say a word. She just looked at her boot before raising her Wand at him. Gavin braced for whatever happened next, but to his surprise, all it did was zap away the raincloud before Luz spoke up

"Look I know it doesn't concern you but... I didn't really have a choice about coming here to your world. My family just decided to send me here so I could be a better princess and not a screw up. And you didn't get a choice about having to deal with me. So, I'm so sorry."

"They just expect so much from me and I just wanted to make my family proud but it wasn't fair that you got dragged into this without a choice. So, I'll tell your principal and your uncle about this, and, I'll just call my...mom to find me somewhere else to stay. That way you won't have to deal with me" Luz then turned her back and sadly looked at the ground.

Seeing this Gavin now felt guilty at how he had snapped at her earlier. She didn't have a choice and was just trying to make her family proud which was something he could relate to which now made him feel bad that he lost his temper with her. He let out a sigh before putting a hand on her shoulder

"Luz, I-" Before he could finish that sentence, though, he gasped at something. "Who are those guys?!"

Luz looked up to see what Gavin was worried about. She also let out a gasp when she saw that standing before her was an assortment of very fierce, very intimidating, Monsters. And at the head was a short, bird-beaked Monster with a green robe, skull hat, and a bat-winged staff who she recognized.

"Hello, Luz Butterfly"

Luz immediately got into a defensive stance as she raised her Wand while keeping Gavin behind her. She and her friends from Mewni had encountered Ludo in the past and she was smart enough to know the reason he's here is not for a friendly visit.

"Ludo, how did you find me?"

The tiny bird-man just chuckled. "Oh, wouldn't you like to know?" He said in a smug tone.

"Yes. That's why I asked."

"Well, I don't need to tell you anything! Men, get the Wand!" On Ludo's command, the Monsters let out a battle cry and immediately charged the princess who prepared to cast a spell.

"Abomination, rise!" Before Luz could even react, Gavin had jumped in front of her, drawing what seemed to be a circle in the air that summoned a fist made of purple mud that sent one of the Monsters flying into the air. This made the other monsters stop in their tracks

"You can fight?" Luz asked in awe at what Gavin just did.

"Well duh. I'm in the abomination track and my uncle is Head Witch who taught me some pretty cool tricks like this!" Gavin casted another spell circle which summoned abomination fist around his hands which he used to punch another monster and sending him down.

Watching this whole display, Ludo was furious at Buff Frog. "You told me she was unguarded, Buff Frog!"

Buff Frog could only give a shrug as an excuse. When the two Monsters looked back, they could see that the two teens were holding off their forces reasonably well.

Gavin held off multiple monsters who were twice his size while Luz was dodging monsters attacking her with ease thanks to her training under her sister. Although she soon started shooting off offensive spells to take down her enemies.

"Paper Craft: Fist!" Luz took a page out of the move Gavin did earlier and summoned a fist made out of paper though despite its appearance was solid as a rock which was enough to punch a Monster's lights out. "Paper Craft: Hornets!" A swarm of murderous origami hornets suddenly appeared and started chasing after a trio of Monsters, who at first thought they were harmless only to realize the hard way that they were like the real thing and started running away in fear.

Meanwhile, Gavin found himself faced against Ludo's second in command Buff Frog. It was not going well as unlike the other monsters he had extra bulk that allowed him to tank his hits and actually knew how to fight with his axe which he had to avoid getting hit by.

"Luz, a little help here?"

Seeing what Gavin was dealing with, Luz immediately made some distance between her and the monsters by jumping away.

"Hold on Gavin I'm coming! Paper Craft: Slingshot" Luz summoned an origami slingshot, that shot her straight towards Buff Frog. By the time the frog man saw him, Luz was already close enough to knock him into a streetlight.

"Get up, you idiots! You're embarrassing me!" Ludo shouted angrily at his minions.

Buff Frog tried to shrug off the hit, but Luz was already on top of him. "Paper Craft: Coffin!" The next thing the Frog-Man knew, the princess had unleashed a huge amount of paper sheets which proceeded to wrap around him like a coffin, preventing him from moving and attacking. He tried to let out a scream but he was quickly silenced when his face was also covered up

Gavin who saw this couldn't help but go "damn" at how intense that move was.

"And now for my ultimate attack," Luz said. She prepares her wand just as the monsters made one last attempt to charge at her.

She unleashed her biggest spell.

"PAPER CRAFT: SNAKE TSUNAMI!" A large horde of origami snakes forming a small tsunami came out of the Wand, steamrolling over the Monsters and burying them underneath. By the time the spell faded all the monsters lay on the ground beaten and groaning in pain.

As Ludo looked on, infuriated, Luz casually walked up to the little bird person. "You want some of this Ludo?" she said smugly.

Ludo could only growl in frustration as he pulled out his dimensional scissors. "No" he groaned as he made a new portal. "All right, everyone back in the portal!"

The Monsters picked themselves up and limped their way back to the portal, with Buff Frog having to be carried since he was still trapped in the paper coffin with his muffled screams being heard "Let me out!"

"This is why you guys need to train more so we don't have to deal with this mess! You're even retreating pathetically!" Once the last of his minions had left, Ludo stepped in, though not before taking one last look at Luz. "This isn't over you brat. I'll get that Wand if its the last thing I d-" The portal cut him off before he could finish his threat, though.

Once all the Monster were gone, Gavin ran right up to Luz sporting an excited grin

"Oh my gosh, that was amazing! I've never felt a rush like that before! That was way more exciting than a treasure hunt!"

"Yeah, we were pretty awesome back there, weren't we?" Luz said, looking happy. But then her happy eyes turned sad as she remembered what she had said before Ludo showed up. "Well, guess I better go and pack my bags," and she turned to leave once more.

"Wait," Gavin stopped him, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Look, we've only known each other for a day, and you've already managed to endanger the life of a student, set fire to part of my school, and got all my stuff sucked down a black hole."

"But I can tell that you mean well and that those were just honest screwups. And that maybe I was a little too harsh on you. You can stay in my house for as long as you need to ok?" Gavin offered.

Luz's face lit up at that. "Really? Thanks!" She then grabbed Gavin in the biggest hug she could hope to give. Gavin was briefly taken back by the gesture and couldn't help but blush a little

After a few moments, Luz let go of him. "Well, lets go home. I still have to clean up the mess there." Gavin said

"Oh don't worry about that. I made sure to clean everything up including your room before I left" Luz explained

"Really? Thanks, Luz!"

"Anything for my new bestie," Luz said.

"Wow so we're besties now huh?" Gavin said amused and touched at the gesture

"Well, we live together and will be seeing a lot of each other, so yeah...besties" Luz shrugged

"Cool. Are those guys gonna be attacking us all the time?" Gavin asked sounding hopeful that it will be the case

"Most likely. Ludo is stubborn so he and the others won't be giving up anytime soon" Luz said

"All right! Sounds exciting!" Gavin shouted, ready for whatever may happen next.

Gavin then remembered that Luz was from another dimension. He didn't believe it earlier due to how frustrated he was but now...well he was open to the possibility

"Hey Luz I've been meaning to ask. Are you really from another dimension? What is it like?" Gavin asked curious

"Well, It's actually similar to your world and..." Luz began to explain as she and her new friend walked home, the stars in the night sky seem to twinkle as if happy to see the birth of a new friendship. No one knows what the future hold for these but It was for sure the start of something new and grand.

Meanwhile...

Somewhere else in the Boiling Isles, Luz's companion Sebastian can be seen conversing with a rather...odd fellow on top of a house

"Of all history's greatest demons, you are by far the most intelligent being I have encountered...What's your secret wise one?" Sebastian inquired his companion who was what appears to be some sort of tube with an owl's face?

"Oh I don't have any secret to that Hoot Hoot. I'm just being myself, Hoot" the owl tube said in an obnoxious voice "And being like thousands of years old but that doesn't matter probably"

"Ah! So you're an immortal. That explains such wisdom" Sebastian gave a nod of respect "And what is your name may I ask?"

"I go by many names but you can just call me Hooty!" Hooty said excitedly

Just then the two were interrupted by a cranky voice from inside "Hooty! Shut the freak up! I'm trying to sleep here!"

"Sorry Eda! I'm just talking to my new friend here. You should meet them Hoot!" Hooty said

"Hard Pass! Just keep it down!" the woman called out

Seeing this Sebastian decided it was time to go "Well I must take my leave Sir, Hooty. I have been gone too long and my friend is looking for me although I have one last question for you"

"Ooh! Ask away new friend"

"That woman. Who is she? And why do you let her talk to you like that?" Sebastian asked

"Oh that's just Eda one of my best friends in the whole world. She's the most powerful witches on these Isles Hoot Hoot" Hooty explained

"The most powerful witch you say?"

"Yep"

"I see. Interesting. Goodbye Hooty. I will speak to you again sometime this week" Sebastian said before taking flight.

"Bye new friend! See you soon" Hooty said. He had no idea who that was but he really likes them. They wanted to learn so much about him and the Boiling Isles which of course he answered. Hopefully he will see them soon again.

So if it wasn't obvious there are some major changes to this compared to how I first wrote it. Namely Luz being in Glandus and being friends with Gavin. Don't worry Willow and Amity and the hexsquad will still have their presence in the story itself just for now Luz Butterfly will start off as a Glandus Student instead due to all the potential interactions she has with Bria and her gang. But storywise there is a reason Glandus was specifically chosen as the school for her to start out in.

Lusina is an OC and a maid of the Butterfly family like Manfred. Originally it was Camila who dropped off Luz but I have something planned for her and the other members of Luz's Butterfly family so they haven't appeared yet since I initially did write a draft for the wand ceremony.

As for Sebastian. He's basically the crow Mina had in canon except for the AU he's able to talk and serves as Luz's companion. The puppet idea in the original draft just didn't work out for me when I tried writing more and the long term plans conflicted with the concept so instead we get a talking crow who will be a source of certain information especially when it comes to lore point.

If anyone was wondering. Yes I based Gavin on Marco Diaz but hopefully his development won't be all over the place so he's like an expy and of course he will be his own character even if I used a lot of basis for this chapter like him being called a safe kid. And yes he's related to Darius here hence having the same last name.

Overall I plan to base chapters on episodes from both shows so I will stick parallel to them but as we progress the story will diverge more into au territory. If there's an episode you want me to tackle let me know.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed. If you have any questions PM me.
