Izuku slowly wakes up and sees that he's in a different place. Looking around for a moment he then realizes he's in a living room and Mr. Ingo and Mr. Emmet are talking quietly with each other. "Mr. Ingo, Mr. Emmet, where are we?" He asks, gaining their attention. "You're at our house, little passenger. We didn't want to wake you right away after the day you've had," Mr. Emmet replies, while Mr. Ingo nods in agreement.
He curls up into himself before asking sadly, "What's going to happen now?" "That's what we are going to be talking about. First thing is you don't have to worry about a place to live, you're going to be staying here with Emmet and I. Second, we will get you used to our world. Third is that if something makes you uncomfortable or you need something let us know. Are there any questions that you have that can't wait until morning?" Ingo asks while taking the seat across from him. He looks over at them in relief knowing he wasn't going to be on the streets. Izuku shakes his head no. Ingo nods, standing, "Well let Emmet and I show you around the house and where you will be staying."
"Also tomorrow we only work half a day because we are taking you shopping for clothes and … things for Ingo and I," Emmet says, pausing in the middle of the sentence for some reason. Izuku gets up and follows them around the house as they point out the kitchen, laundry room, and door to the back yard. Then they lead him upstairs where there are a few doors. Emmet points to a few doors, "The white door leads to my room, the black door to Ingo's and this door leads to your room." Izuku looks to where Mr. Emmet is pointing, and sees the door to his room. Then he notices that it is across the hall from Mr. Ingo's room. He opens the door to see a guest room with a really big bed, well to Izuku it is a really big bed. He walks over and tries to get up but fails because he's so tired he slips and nearly hits the floor, but someone catches him. Izuku is then picked up off the floor completely. He lets out a startled yelp. "Sorry for scaring you little passenger, just wanting to make sure you don't get hurt," Mr Ingo says while setting him on the bed. He walks back out and they both say, "Goodnight, sleep well." Izuku quietly says, "Goodnight." Then the door is closed and he lays down falling asleep.
Ingo and Emmet wake up earlier than they usually do so that they can get breakfast ready for themselves and Izuku. As they get into the kitchen and make breakfast they talk about their work schedule for the day, also what they need to get for Izuku.
After getting breakfast, Ingo says, "I am going to wake up Izuku for breakfast." "Okay don't take too long or it might get cold," Emmet says with a smile. Ingo nods while he walks up the stairs and knocks on Izuku's door, "It's time to get and ready Izuku." The door opens with Izuku standing there already up and ready. Ingo eyes widen before asking, "How are you ready so fast?" "I heard Mr. Emmet and you got up earlier, so I got ready. I didn't want to bother you two, because I'm a Deku," Izuku responds quietly while looking down to the ground, not making eye contact.
Ingo frowns after a moment realizing that the word Deku was probably an insult of some kind. Ingo makes a note to ask about that after breakfast. "Well breakfast is ready, let's head downstairs," Ingo says while leading Izuku out of the room. "Okay," Izuku says happily. They head downstairs to the dining room. Ingo has Izuku sit at the table while he goes to help Emmet bring the plates of food to the table. They all sit down and start eating after putting all the plates on the table. After finishing a bite of food Emmet asks, "Did you sleep well Izuku?"
Izuku pauses eating for a moment thinking before saying, "Yes I did, thank you for letting me stay." Emmet says, "That's wonderful, and no need to thank us, we are happy to have you." They keep eating just talking about how they slept and letting Izuku know that he is going to work with them and taking him shopping after. Once they were done Ingo asks, "Izuku you said that you are a Deku, can you tell Emmet and I what Deku means?" Izuku looks startled for a moment before avoiding eye contact with them before saying, "That's the nickname everyone calls me back home even Mama." "Izuku we are not going to be mad but we do need to know what Deku means," Emmet says in a soft voice. Izuku sighs before saying quietly, "Deku is my nickname I gained after not getting a quirk which is a super power in my world. Deku means …. useless." "What!!!" Emmet yells in shock while Ingo slams a fist into the table. Izuku looks up with wide eyes ready to bolt out of the room. Seeing this Ingo takes a breath and says to Emmet, "Calm down yelling won't fix this." "Izuku we are not mad at you, just the people who called you that and made you think you were useless. Now can you tell us what other things they did like that from your mom, teachers, and classmates please." Ingo says a little loudly while looking at Izuku sadly. Izuku nods, not wanting them to be sad, so answers, "Yeah, my classmates use their quirks on me and chase me after school everyday. The teachers give me detention for provoking them, which I try not to but I somehow always do. Mama doesn't come home often. I'm home alone most of the time and she sometimes forgets to leave me money for food and clothes when I need to go to the store shopping for us."
Emmet and Ingo grit their teeth in anger, and Ingo says while forcing his voice to stay calm, "How they treated you isn't right Izuku. You're only eight years old. There is no way you should be shopping for your mother even if she works a lot or that the teachers are taking the side of your bullies just because you don't have a superpower. Same with those kids in your school." Izuku just tilts his head in confusion before nodding reluctantly. "Well let's finish breakfast and get ready to go. We can talk more about this later," Ingo says after a moment.
