Part 1: "When the Gods Fall from the Sky"
After the events of Infinity War , SHIELD discovers an ancient magical signal activated on Themyscira. Fury, rebuilding bridges to all things supernatural following Thanos' arrival, sends Tony Stark on a diplomatic mission ( because of course, sending the most diplomatic man on the planet is a great idea ).
Tony appears on Themyscira in his Mark 85 armor... and is greeted by spears, judgmental stares, and a woman who seems sculpted by fate itself.
"Are you the emissary of men?" Diana asks, without lowering her sword.
"I'm the one with a supersonic jet, an adorable daughter, and no intention of dying today, thank you," Tony replies. "
You're arrogant. " "
You're beautiful."
"And dangerous.
" "Perfect, I have a type."
The diplomatic mission turns into a collaboration: Diana seeks answers about the cosmic imbalance caused by Thanos, while Tony seeks to understand the mythology behind the multiverse. They are forced to work together. He irritates her. She baffles him.
And one night, under a starless sky, she says to him:
—Not all men are weak, Tony Stark. But very few accept being vulnerable.
For the first time, he doesn't respond with sarcasm. He just looks at her. And stays.
