Congratulations, you died!
Was that the screen before me said as I stood in an entirely black void.
Your reality got sadly destroyed, but fear not; you were in the exact right spot in your reality to avoid getting deleted.
So you have been granted life in a new reality to play the ultimate game of Yu-Gi-Oh! A world crafted from your perverse desires by throwing different timelines together.
Now, please select your Class.
I could only really look with a dropped jaw at the text as it displayed a bunch of class names; my world was dead.
Everyone I knew was gone; I was the only survivor…
Oh god.
I was going to be sick.
I was going to throw up.
I just pressed a button.
You have selected Duel Spirit Summoner.
…
Class locked in.
Would you like to design your new avatar or take an available one?
"I… Just take the available one." I replied.
Excellent. The system shall now upload soul data to the available Host.
"Wait, what?" I began, but before I could ask for clarification, my vision went dark.
And then fifteen years of memories smashed directly into my skull, or was it twenty-six years worth of memories? But so did a fist of a giant monster, a man clad in a purple cloak smiling as it did, and my vision went dark.
Xxx
I stared at the ceiling of a roof I did not know as I lay on a hospital bed, sorting through memories that were not my own in both regards as I was both * and also Ritsuka Fujimaru, a fifteen-year-old boy who lived with his Aunt and Cousin, due to his parents passing away in a tragic car accident that had also claimed the life of his unborn younger sister…
I ignored the mental pain as the name and person was familiar to me, Ritsuka was the protagonist of FGO, but I clearly was not in Chaldea, for Chaldea was…
The Chaldea Academy?
That… what?
Chaldea Academy is the most premiere Duel School in the world, located on an Island off the coast of Japan, founded by the Animusphere Family, who owned SOL Technologies, where one could also get an education going from Middle School all the way to College. Leaving you ready to go into the various Pro Duel Circuits around the world.
That was what my memory told me; Chaldea was in this world…
And then I remembered what the system had said just before I had woken up.
A Yugioh world according to my perverse desires…
And speaking of the system… "Status?" I asked.
And with that, a window appeared in front of me.
Name: Ritsuka Fujimaru
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Class: Duel Spirit Summoner
Deck: None Equipped.
DP: 0
Duel Rank: Nobody
Duel Energies:
And that was all it said, which wasn't a lot.
So maybe. "Menu?"
That seemed to bring up a little more.
The Master Duel System:
Status: Available
Decks: 0
Card Binder: 0
Quests: 1
Master Duel Gacha:
Archetype Gacha: 1 Platinum Ticket
Partners: 0
I mentally clicked on the Quest first to see what that was about.
Active Quests:
The Platinum Ticket: You have no cards, so you better get some. Use the Platinum Ticket to get your first Spirit Partner.
Which was thankfully straightforward.
I closed the windows, and as I did, the door to my hospital room opened up.
And in came a nurse who looked at me with surprise before smiling. "Mr. Fujimaru, you're awake, thank the gods. We were starting to get a little worried."
"What happened?" I asked as I sat up in my bed, that part I didn't actually remember. As the last thing I remembered as Ritsuka was exiting the house to go on a run, and then… darkness.
"You were assaulted and suffered a heavy concussion to your head; thankfully, no permanent damage, but memory issues could occur." She said. "I shall call your Guardian; she will be able to explain better."
"Thank you," I replied, as I actually took a proper look at the hospital room I was in, and it was really nothing special besides the IV drip that was currently attached to me and the silent heart rate monitor. And next to the bed was a small stand that had several get-well-soon cards. But they were all from the same person. My Aunt and Cousin weren't into that kind of people; they would rather speak than write things down and say them to the person directly.
Ritsuka Fujimaru's one and only friend in the country so far.
Mash Kyrielight.
I couldn't help but smile; of course, I couldn't be Ritsuka without my trusty Kouhai, now could I?
Though, after thinking that, the door opened up, and in walked my Aunt.
Scathach.
It was just… Scathach, but as a normal living human and not a Servant or an Immortal trapped in the Land of Shadows, she was just Scathach McRemitz, my Father's Sister. (Meaning I was half-Scottish half-Japanese) Who I had been living with, in Scottland until recently. as I-Ritsuka had wanted to go to Chaldea Academy for his high school and College Education, so they had returned to Neo Domino City a few months ago(a place known for its immigrant population due to catastrophes. And so obviously couldn't get in and had to wait for the entrance exams to happen.
"Ritsuka," She said my name with such affection as she sat on the chair that was beside my bed. "We were starting to get worried; how are you feeling?"
"Sore," I replied. "Where is Bazett?"
"She is on her way," Scathach answered. "She had to pick something up, so I managed to get here first."
"Oh, okay, that is good to hear," I responded.
"So, do you remember what happened?" She asked.
"The last thing I remember was getting punched by a duel monster that had its solidity turned way up," I answered.
"That fits the security footage; anything before that?"
"I… the last thing I remember was just going for a run.
"You didn't; you got ambushed by a Rare Hunter, who forced a duel and, after that, hacked your disk and stole it and your cards," Scathach answered, her tone filled with unspent anger.
"Aw fuck…" I groaned in frustration; it had been a really cool Masked Hero Deck having cards that had not existed in… and who knew when I would get
"An understatement," Scathach commented, But a rather soft-spoken one, which Ritsuka, I was not used to. The incident must have really hit her hard, which made sense; she had probably for a second. "But still to lose the deck you spend so much time assembling, I know how you feel, Ritsuka; I once lost one of mine, but don't lose heart; you will make a new one."
"Yeah, but I gotta hurry before the entrance exams happen." As that was only like a month away at the moment.
"So, did you read the cards yet?" She asked as she looked over at the desk, seeking to change the subject as she clearly didn't have an answer to my problem. "I told her they weren't needed, you were obviously going to recover being my brother's son after all. But the girl insisted, said they would bring you good luck."
"Yeah that sounds like Mash, and not yet," I replied.
"Shall we do that while we wait for your Cousin?" She suggested as a way to pass the time.
"That sounds like a good idea," I replied, and with that, my Aunt and I started to read through all the get-well messages that had been left for me by Mash, which basically were short summaries of what was going on while had been out, along with just her random thoughts, which were extremely cute.
This continued until the door opened once again, and in stepped my cousin, Bazett Fraga McRemitz. And she looked just like what I expected from both of my memories. Dress in that suit and tie outfit that she and her Mother somehow considered casual clothing. The Pro Duelist was dressed in a purple-colored suit of her own, the front open so that the cleavage her large breasts created was on full display.
"Damn, so I am not getting his room then?" She asked Scathach, who just shrugged in response
"Good to see you, too, Cuz," I replied in a slightly sarcastic tone, but I appreciated the joke as I knew she was about to get deadly serious.
"The police are investigating what happened, but sadly, like most Rare Hunter cases, it will go nowhere; those criminals are far too slippery," Bazett grumbled. "Though to prevent such an incident from occurring again, we went and procured this; Happy Birthday, Ritsuka," Bazett said, and I realized that my Birthday had come and gone while I had been out. She reached into the bag that I hadn't noticed she was holding and pulled out a…
"Is that an FDDD?" I asked in surprise as I looked at the image emblazoned on a smooth white box depicting what in my old world would be considered a smartwatch in terms of appearance, but it was not just that; it was the most advanced Duel Disk and personal device created so far by SOL Tech. The Full Data Duel Disk. "How did you even get a hold of this?"
It was basically a more compact version of the Duel Disk that Kaiba invented in DsoD, but this was by SOL Tech, the company that was most ahead of Data and AI technology. They were the ones who discovered Cyberse Energy, aka Physical Data, which led to the creation of the Cyberse Monster Type and Link-Extra Deck, evolving the Master Rule format(Thankfully, it was Master Rule 5 and not 4). The Duel Disk was connected to the VRAINS Network(Basically WEB 3), which allowed you to Duel without physical cards as you scanned them into data, preventing theft and out without the mental signature of the user; the Duel Disk didn't work essentially making it the most secure Duel Disk in the world. And I also allowed you to participate in Speed Duels by manifesting Data Storms.
"It is, and I pulled on a few connections at SOL," Scathach explained.
"And you made me go and pick it up," Bazett complained.
"You were closer," She denied the complaint. "Though there is still a Deck issue, but that can be fixed. Now go and put it on."
I nodded as I took the expensive piece of technology out of its box. and put it around my wrist as it turned on, and did its setup connecting to my D-Gazer Tattoo. A standard implant that every child got as Master Duels was done via Augmented Reality at this point in time, with only Turbo Duels and Speed integrating Real Solid Vision. Speed Duels to get the D-Board, and for Turbo Duel, it was for Turbo Road and the Turbo Cards generated by Speed World 3.
And…
Compatible device detected.
The system will integrate with it.
Cards obtained can be used via the FDDD.
With that, the box moved to the holographic screen that was being projected by my Duel Disk.
"It works," I said with a smile.
"Great, so now let's get the doctors to check you out," Scathach said.
Xxx
Thankfully, it didn't take long for me to get checked out of the hospital as my injuries had healed while I had been unconscious, so they had just been waiting for me to wake up.
So now I was back in Ritsuka's home.
My home.
It was a standard Japanese home with a ground floor and first floor, with my room being on the second floor.
And… well, it was my room filled with Duel Monster merchandise, posters for big tournaments, and of famous monsters used by pro duelists throughout the game's 55 years of history.
Yep, fifty-five years.
That was how long Duel Monsters had existed, having been invented by Maximillian Pegasus in 1995, whose company Industrial Illusions released the first cards alongside Ritual Monster, with it being a niche game until 10 years later when Seto Kaiba Sr. invented the first version of Solid Vision and discovered Duel Energy alongside Fusion Energy as the system ran on a fusion reactor.
Yeah, the history of the game was wild in this world.
And now SOL stood as the top dogs of the game as Pegasus had essentially made it open source, and if you discovered something or made cards, the system accepted it?
You owned the copyright.
But that was for homework later.
My current interest laid in the System and what it did, though it was not being very forthcoming about itself.
As when I pressed the tabs, they didn't give a lot of information or were very obvious about what they did, but thankfully, the Duel Energies tab did explain itself.
As it basically listed what type of Summoning I had access to.
Duel Energies:
Advance -Unlocked-
Ritual -Locked-
Fusion -Locked-
Synchro -Locked-
XYZ -Locked-
Pendulum -Locked-
Link -Locked-
Yeah, despite having used a Fusion Deck before, my current self did not have access to Fusion Energy apparently, and it gave no hints about how to unlock said stuff, but I assumed it was through dueling.
But that massive lock also affected the decision I was about to make as after that, I had gone into the Master Duel Gacha, and it was as it said on the tin.
It was a gacha, that was separated into two different Gachas, with the first one being for packs, and there were three packs currently available. They were called the Master Packs and were separated into Spell, Traps and Monsters. With each pack containing 9 cards, with a singular pack costing 100 DP with a ten-roll costing 1000 DP.
The Master Packs – You lack stables and Free agents? We've got them.
Yeah, it was a way for me to get my stables that didn't really belong to an Archetype, which tied into the second Gacha.
The Archetype Gacha, which could get me cards from a specific archetype, but I could only roll that via special tickets and, were separated into three tiers.
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Platinum.
Bronze Ticket: Roll on the Archetype Wheel, Get one copy of each available card of the Rolled Archetype after victory.
Silver Ticket: Roll on the Archetype Whell twice, pick your Archetype, and get 2 copies of each available card of rolled Archetype after Victory.
Gold Ticket: Roll on the Archetype Whell thrice, pick your Archetype, and get 3 copies of each available card of the Rolled Archetype after Victory.
Diamond Ticket: Pick your Archetype of Choice and get 3 copies of each available card after victory.
Platinum Ticket: The Ultimate Offering that can be given to a Duel Spirit signifies an immediate partnership and bond. Gain 3 copies of each available card of the selected Archetype with no need for battle.
Yeah… I basically had to win a duel against the Duel Spirit in charge if I wanted cards, with only the Platinum Ticket circumventing it.
And I had 1.
And I had to use it wisely as if I used it on an archetype that had a lot of extra deck cards like, say, Elemental Heroes?
I would only be able to use the main deck stuff.
So, I had to pick an Archetype that lacked an Extra Deck., and did not rely on a bunch of stables that I lacked. So Labrynth was probably out.
So what could I get that would allow me to counter the power decks that surely were going to be a Chaldea Academy.
Well maybe I should go the way of Solo Leveling and acquired kinly power. I thought as I stared at the Archetype before me.
Monarchs.
"Ritsuka, Mash is here," The voice of my Aunt brought me out of my thoughts as I made my decision and spent the ticket.
"I am on my way!" I shouted with a grin, now it was just time to test out my new cards.

This chapter used Fallen of Albaz(which has been discontinued and cancelled for this) as a base but has been edited to fit the new version as I was having issues with the setup before a certain pic of Ritsuka in the slifer red uniform made it click for me.
