In this AU Delilah was never murdered. Lucifer part time runs the Lux, part time rules hell and Maze regularly goes down to spend a few days torturing souls.
Chloe and Lucifer first met at the Gillian Taylor case (2x01) Lucifer helps Chloe solve the case and she and Ella notice some strange powers Lucifer has. When a criminal tried to kill Chloe (chapter 5), Lucifer protected her with his wings: so Chloe, Ella and Trixie found out Lucifer really is the devil.
Chloe asked Lucifer how he could ignore his dad's orders if he didn't have free will. God listened to prayers of Chloe, Lucifer wanted to know why. God showed up to explain. During the Big Bang he gave the cosmological constant a wrong value, he in the present needs help to warn himself in the past and change that value. He tells Chloe and Lucifer together will give that help without realizing.
We now have Julia (human) and Na'amah (demon) as Rory's sitters. Julia, Raziel, Maze and Na'amah have visited Raziel's home in heaven. Uriel seemed not to be pleased by that happening.
Chloe and Lucifer are working on the Philippe Ordonez case, a man that made the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and has written a book about that.
Chapter twenty-two: Two accidents

"… and Ginny has been to Hawaii," Rory finished. She had been to a children's party and was telling Julia and Na'amah where the other children had been on vacation. Rory was in the back of the car. Julia was driving them home and Na'amah was in the passenger's seat.
"Hawaii? Surfing?" Julia asked, shifting her head so she could look at Rory in the back view mirror.
"Yes. She said she did. She showed a picture. Her father is from Hawaii and Ginny says it's the best place to surf."
"Next time tell her Malibu is better," Julia said and grinned at Rory the mirror.
"Nevertheless we could go for a few days to Hawaii," Na'amah mused.
Rory wanted to react, but in the corner of her eye she caught a glimpse of something moving next to her. She looked to the left and stared… at herself.
"What the…" she stumbled.
"Rory…" Julia almost shouted and slammed the breaks of the car.
"What?" Na'amah asked and twisted in her chair to see Rory.
Luckily it was not busy in the street, but behind them a car honked.
"There were two Rory's…" Julia stammered. "Two."
While Na'amah was still looking at the back seats, a hundred yards ahead a truck came out of a street at the left. Rory saw it going full speed through the garden of the house on the left opposite of that street and smashing into that house. At the sounds Julia and Na'amah turned to watch, Rory raised from the back seat to have a better look.
"There…" Na'amah took a deep breath. "That is where we would have been if you hadn't stopped…"
"I call 9-1-1," Julia said. "You call Chloe to tell her Rory is ok."
"Would he have hit us?" Rory asked.
Na'amah smiled at her. "It is ok, red kite. Nothing is going to happen to you."
"Because there was a second me?"
"Well…" The demoness frowned. "Julia and you thought to see a second you. Nobody can be double."
Rory trembled, swallowed, took a deep breath and suddenly there was the second herself again, now to the right.
"What the…" her other self said.
"Ro…" Julia started to yell.
Then Rory was alone again on the backseats with Na'amah staring eyes wide open at her.
"How…"
"What?" Julia asked.
"I was looking at Rory and suddenly she was gone and the next moment she was sitting on the other back seat," Na'amah said with a shaky voice.

"Sentences in mrs O'Hara's book?" Ella repeated Lucifer's words. "What sentences, what book?"
"Philippe and that mrs O'Hara are acquaintances. Were acquaintances. They have, had, lunch or diner together two or three times a year. She showed us a few sentences Philippe hand-wrote," Chloe explained.
"Definitely not the same writing," Lucifer said. "Was the man that mrs O'Hara was meeting not Philippe?"
"But she recognized his picture," Chloe objected, staring at the hand-written page and scratching her cheek.
"Why don't you ask Philippe?" Ella proposed. "I mean his soul. In the last four years you and Chloe have interviewed dozens of souls."
"In hell, miss Lopez. I don't think Philippe is in hell," Lucifer answered. "Read the book. The guy was happy in his believe in dad, I expect him to be in heaven."
"So?" Ella asked.
"Miss Lopez. I'm the devil. Heaven is not my territory. They must have told you such things at Sunday school."
"But your dad lifted your ban from heaven."
"Only because dad wants to see his granddaughter," Lucifer mumbled.
Ella shrugged. "Exactly. I know you together with Rory and Chloe do visit both Rory's granddads a few times a year."
"Just family visits," Lucifer repeated. "Not for work. Neither for my job as the devil nor for my job as consultant for the LAPD."
"Would your dad have a problem if you interview a soul as Chloe's consultant?"
Lucifer looked at Ella and opened and closed his mouth a few times. "He never… I never…"
"We can ask him," Chloe said, but before Lucifer could react, her phone rang and she saw it was Na'amah calling. "Yes?" she said with the call on the speaker.
"Don't worry, miss Decker," the demoness said. "Rory is ok. Julia and I are ok. It's just in front of us there is an accident and Julia is now calling 9-1-1, so we will be a bit later at home."
"O, no. Anyone got hurt?" Chloe asked.
"Well. A truck hit a house and we did not yet go closer, but looking at that truck I can't imagine the driver survived."
"But Rory and the two of you are ok?" Chloe asked, just to be sure.
"Yes, miss Decker. No need to worry. We're going to see whether we need to help."
Chloe looked at Lucifer who shrugged. "Rory is ok," she said. "No doubt the Traffic department will look at why and how that truck crashed."
Lucifer nodded. "Back to Philippe."
"Ask your dad," Ella said. "I will ask. Maybe he listens when I pray." She folded her hands.
"Dad can't answer you," Lucifer said. The next moment he grumbled and folded his own hands while whispering to Chloe: "But he simply uses me as messenger."
"Dad says he always listens when you pray, miss Lopez," he said. "And he has no problem with the detective and me interviewing any soul in heaven if we need to."
Techiel was a name Chloe had never heard before and she had never met the angel, but he was the one responsible for heaven's administration. He was an angel, Lucifer had said to her, not an archangel.
"A Philippe Ordonez who died in LA in that last week?" Techiel shook his head. "I will check, but…" Some folders appeared in front of him, as if created from thin air, and he quickly searched. "As I thought. No mr Ordonez from LA. Not in the last year."
"But there must be…" Lucifer started.
Techiel looked eye brows high at his brother. "Did you check your own realm?"
"No! Could he have sneaked in without anyone administrating it?" Lucifer reacted with a counter question.
"Souls can't sneak in. They all enter through the Pearl Gates and even if one doesn't, the watchers would notice a new soul."
"Unless he hides in the House of an archangel," Lucifer objected.
Techiel sighed. "Why would a soul hide himself in one of the Houses? But I can ask the Housemasters." He gave Lucifer an annoyed look, then folded his hands and closed his eyes. Many minutes later he opened his eyes and shook again his head.
"I checked with the Housemasters of all archangels, including yours, no new soul that shouldn't be there."
"Mother's house?" Lucifer said.
"I can't contact mother's house. None of us is allowed. Why don't you check hell?"
So an hour later Lucifer landed on the roof of hell's administration building and put Chloe down. As always ash dribbled from the sky, the winds were biting cold and thunder rumbled in the distance. "I should have ignored Techiel and asked dad to contact mum," Lucifer mumbled.
"Next on our to do list, after we talked with Sulpas," Chloe said and pushed him to the stairways that lead down into the building.
"Philippe Ordonez from LA," Sulpas repeated. The giant demon raised from his chair and shouted some words. Other demons came running with papers and Sulpas searched for some moments. "Yes, my lady, my king. He is in Barcmanim, Ksantoch builing, thirty-second level, cell thirty-one thousand three hundred and forty-five."
"He is in hell?" Lucifer asked. "We talk the same Philippe?"
"This Philippe died the day lady Chloe mentioned," Sulpas assured them.
There was indeed a Philippe Ordonez in that building in the cell Sulpas had mentioned.
"I made a pilgrimage to Santiago," the soul whispered.
"You wrote a book on it?" Chloe asked.
"I didn't write it," Philippe said with some sobs. "I took it."
"Took it?" Chloe asked with confusion.
More sobs from Philippe followed before he explained: "There was that guy Sergio. I had met him twice before. We walked some parts of the camino at almost the same moments. I knew he was writing a diary: he had read parts of it for me, for others."
"And you 'took' it?" Chloe asked. "You mean by that: you have stolen it from him?"
"I had seen him the day before. He left that evening for he wanted to walk under stars and moon. I left the following morning and than I found him, next to the road. It was a small path through some wild lands. He had had an accident. He had fallen and broken his leg. He must have been laying there for hours and didn't react when I talked to him. To the right was a chasm, a gorge with a stream flowing below. I knew two other pilgrims, Jack and Maria, were just half an hour behind. They would find him also and could take care of him. I only took his diary and left."
"And than you published the diary under your own name?" Lucifer asked.
"I always wanted to be a famous author and Sergio had said he didn't want to publish it. He wrote it only for himself. It's not my fault. I'm not guilty."
Lucifer shrugged. "Your subconscious must have decided differently. Later on you never met Sergio again?"
"No. Two days later I met Jack and Maria and they didn't mention Sergio. His full name is Sergio Casanas and he was from Louisiana. I kept an eye on the local news websites of his home town and he is missing. He is never found. So last year I decided I could safely publish his writings."
"So you left a wounded man alone, he is never found and you published his diary as your own writing?" Lucifer summarized.
"It was not my fault," Philippe repeated wining. "Jack and Maria are to blame. They should have found him. Not my fault."
"Can you explain were exactly you left Sergio?" Chloe asked.
"Two actions," Chloe said when they were back in the precinct.
"Two?" Lucifer asked.
"One, we have to inform the local Spanish police where to look for Sergio's body and two, who killed Philippe? It must have been someone who blames him for Sergio's disappearance."
She looked up the missing persons database and quickly found a missing Sergio Casanas from Louisiana. "Missing for three years now. He has three children, a wife, a brother and two sisters. Relatives close enough to be angry if they would know Philippe left the wounded Sergio alone."
Lucifer looked at her with his eyes half closed. "But how can any of them know Philippe is involved?"
