Getting up in the morning is a little easier for Blaine now that his boyfriend sleeps next to him. Other than the next few days Kurt has to get up at the same time as Blaine and the others. Around 8 they start to clear the breakfast table while one person after the other gets ready in the bathroom.

Blaine plans on taking Rachel and Santana with him to school and back home but they will stop at the grocery store. He remembers his promise to have all three over a few times after the drama at the diner so instead he buys the groceries and cooks for them in their loft.

Shortly after Rachel, Santana and Blaine left, making him promise to text as soon as he's done to tell them how it went, the Hummels have to leave as well. They take the subway to the police station and have to wait on a bench for about 10 minutes before an officer walks in their direction "Kurt Hummel?".

Burt isn't allowed to come with him but he patiently waits on the bench. His son is strong. He can make his statement formally. He's okay and he'll be healthy again. After some waiting Burt decides to go outside. He can't sit anymore so he walks around the building instead. He checks his flight connection, texts his friend who wants to pick him up at the airport and goes through his mental check-list if he packed everything. In the end it's all just to distract himself. It's been an hour.

One more hour later Kurt finally comes out of the room "Hey dad". "Kurt. How did it go?" the man asks and his son answers "Okay I guess". "Wanna talk?" the older man asks but Kurt shakes his head "Let's just go home. I think I need a break and my medicine is at home". Burt nods understanding "Sure thing kiddo".

Kurt: I'm home again

Blaine: How did it go?

Kurt: Okay

Rachel: What did they ask you?

Santana: Did they take a photo and finger prints from you like you're a criminal?

Kurt: Santana I don't even want to know how you know this but yes they did

Blaine: How long have you been there?

Kurt: About two hours

Rachel: I ask again. What did they ask you? What did you say?

Kurt: Kurt took a painkiller as soon as we got home and fell asleep with his phone in his hand. Have a good day kids and I'll see you soon. -Burt

Burt said goodbye to his son before he fell asleep but Kurt wanted to stay awake until he really has to go. That plan didn't work out. The older Hummel smiles at the younger, covering him up and putting the phone away safely. Then he takes his bag and closes the door behind him.

When the girls and Blaine come back home, grocery bags in their hands, Kurt sits on the couch and watches tv while playing some games on his phone. "Hey. How was NYADA?" he asks and the girls answer "Okay" before Rachel adds "You haven't answered my question in the group chat yet". "Ever thought that I might didn't want to answer your questions in a text message?" Kurt asks calmly and the brunette doesn't respond. He's right. This is more of a face to face situation.

"Is it okay if I go and talk to him? I'm sure he'll tell you later as well. I just want to make sure that he's oaky" Blaine asks and Santana nods "We'll unpack. Just give me your bag". Blaine thanks her and hands her the grocery store bag. He puts his own bag down on a chair before he goes to the couch and sits down next to his boyfriend.

"Can you put your phone away and look at me sweetheart?" he asks calm. Kurt sighs but does what Blaine asks, looking in Blaines worried, beautiful hazel eyes. "Are you okay?" the curly haired man asks and Kurt nods "I think so". "Do you want to tell me how it went or do you prefer not talking about it for now?" the other man asks further, taking Kurts hand and squeezing it.

"This might sounds weird but I didn't answer to Rachels texts because I don't really know what they asked. I was so in my head and just answered and listened. It all kinda happened in a blur. Like I was there but I wasn't really there" Kurt says "I was nervous and they noticed so we started with a bit of small talk. They took my statement and read Tylers to me to compare that we're fully on the same page".

"What did Tyler say?" Blaine asks and his boyfriend shakes his head "He pretty much described me as a hero because I came to save him and ended up more injured than him because I stood up for us. But I'm not a hero. He got injured even more and I got injured and I just should've called the police from the moment I saw the scene".

"Hey Kurt. Sweetheart you said yourself that your first instinct was to help and that's what you did. Yes calling the police would've been smart but you were so brave and strong. You are brave and strong and yes also smart. You did everything right" Blaine says and kisses his boyfriend on the cheek.

Kurt is quiet for a few second before he says "They have a few suspects. I mean they were five so there are quite a lot suspects but they have to check their alibis now". "That's really good. I'm sure they will catch the guys who did this to you and Tyler" Blaine says with a smile.

"That's why Tyler and I have to come back again on Tuesday next week after his class with you" Kurt says. "My class after his got canceled. I could drive you two" Blaine offers and his boyfriend smiles "Thank you. We will have to identify them mostly based on statue and voice because it was too dark to see much more". "I'll wait for you two and we bring Tyler home. After that we get ice cream or something and go home" the curly haired man says.

"Thank you" Kurt mumbles and lets go of his boyfriends hand to fall in his arms instead "I love you". Blaine immediately wraps both arms around his boyfriend and whispers back "I love you too. Everything will be okay and whoever did this to you will pay for it". "And to Tyler" Kurt mumbles and the other man laughs before he corrects himself "To you and Tyler".

The girls cook dinner while Kurt and Blaine stay on the couch and cuddle a bit more. Kurt doesn't want to let go yet. He didn't really talk to Burt because he didn't feel like it at the moment but now that he had some time to process everything. He knew that his dad won't be there anymore to talk when he wakes up but until he and Blaine hugged he didn't realized how much he needed that right now. To talk with someone who can understand. Someone he can trust. Someone he loves. To feel the touch of someone he feels save with. Blaine is all that.

Dinner is quiet and only after dinner, when Blaine does the dishes Kurt sits down on the couch "Rach? Tana? Care to join me?". The friends run to him, sitting down left and right of him. Kurt doesn't tell them everything he told Blaine, not wanting to go into detail again but when he's done the girls wrap him into their arms and hold him close, careful not to hurt him.

When Blaine looks over to the couch he can't hide a smile. It reminds him of his time at Dalton. He had a bad day and his best friends from back then, Nick and Jeff, hugged him just like that. After that they ordered pizza to Blaines dorm room because he didn't want to go down to the cafeteria. Maybe when Kurt is healthy again they could fly to visit Burt and make a little trip to Westerville to visit them and maybe see what's new at Dalton or something.

"Blaine?" Kurt asks as they lay in bed in the late evening. "Hm?" the other man mumbles. "Are you awake?" the younger man asks. At that Blaines eyes open "Do you need anything? Have you taken a painkiller?". "I did. I don't need anything. I just can't fall asleep" the chestnut haired man whispers. "Okay" Blaine only answers before Kurt can feel him shift.

Cross legged Blaine sits down on the bed next to Kurt. He takes Kurts hand, gives it a kiss before bending over to kiss his forehead, nose and finally mouth. Then he whispers "Close your eyes". Kurt does so and his boyfriend continues "Imagine you and me. Laying on a blanket on the grass up on a hill. Not in New York because of all the lights but somewhere really quiet. It's dark and we look up to the stars. It's so dark that we can see everything. Little sparks in the black night sky. Your mother is somewhere up there and watches you". He can see Kurt smile a bit in the darkness of the room and then he sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for him. It became their thing.

A few moments later Kurt is asleep and Blaine lays back down again, closing his eyes and falling asleep. After all he can't sleep in like Kurt does.
