After quick introductions between all the humans, their growing groups take up two benches facing each other as they fill each other in on what has transpired so far. Him being the good boy he is nestled into Alice and Jill, refusing to be parted from his two people again. The Preist man sits the furthest away from everyone and Jill keeps her gun directed towards him.
Even without bullets the threat of her holding the gun is enough to keep the man from coming closer to them.
Not that either Alice or Jill were complaining about this arrangement. They huddled together, with Peyton sitting next to Jill while the new people sat opposite him. The man and woman who arrived with Alice were called Rain and Kaplan. They worked with Alice, hence their similar outfits to what Alice used to wear.
The three had filled everyone in on what happened in the Hive. From the outbreak, something called a laser room, undead rising, The Red Queen, Spencer's betrayal, the licker (which is what those monsters are apparently called) to Umbrella capturing them.
Well, they managed to escape the Hive with someone else. Apparently, another man named Matt was with them when they were captured, but he wasn't with them when they woke up in an Umbrella facility in the middle of the city. Matt was also Lisa's brother who was trying to help Alice reveal what Umbreall was doing.
In exchange, Jill retold Alice everything that had happened in her absence right up until this moment. When Alice heard about what the priest was doing to people who came here seeking shelter a cold look overcame her face. One that had the man shrinking away from her. One that had him feeling slightly afraid of his mother. there was a dark sense coming off of her.
He also noticed her scent was slightly different then normal. He can't think of anything to compare it to but she just seems different. Mostly the same but there is something off about her.
"So, what do we do now," Terri asks from behind her camera documenting everything they are saying for the future.
Kaplan and Rain's eyes drift back over to Alice expecting her to come up with a plan of action. Except Peyton beats her to it. "We find the building with the thickest walls and strongest doors." He tells them leaning forward and resting his arms on his knees. "We barricade ourselves inside it and wait for help to arrive."
Terri and the priest nod at that plan liking it and even Jill seems to be leaning towards agreeing to it. Only to pause seeing the look on Alice, Kaplan and Rain's face. "What do you three know," Jill asks her questionable gaze jumping from each of the three Umbrella fighters waiting for one of them to answer.
Yet none of them seem interested in saying anything. Alice fidgets under Jill's burning look making her nervously begin to stroke his back. Not that he is complaining about that part. The three of them then have their own private silent conversation. Debating on what to say next yet none of them are willing to break the silence that closes all around them. It takes Jill grabbing Alice's arm and pleading with her softly to say something for them to get a response. "You said they have locked down the city completely and barred anyone from leaving."
"Yes," Peyton answers wearily. Picking up on the unease the Umbrella members are all sharing at the moment. "They have even blocked cell phone reception," Peyton adds on which cerements nothing to the armed group.
Rhodie notices the way Kaplan and Rain wince at that statement. The grimace that now lines Alice's lips as she nods to herself as if accepting some hidden truth. "Then we don't have long." Alice stands up pulling away from him and Jill ignoring his whine at the sudden distance.
"I would say sunrise." Rain replies in a bored sounding tone also standing.
Followed swiftly by Kaplan. "I concur with that. Any later and they risk exposure." He groans a little when he puts weight on his injured leg but manages to hold himself up. Rain reaching out to help stabilise him
"What are the three of you on about," Terri asks turning slightly more pale at the way the three Umbrella soldiers are acting all of a sudden. Like something terrible is about to happen.
Said three share one last exchange before Alice turned back to them. "Hive protocol dictates that if anything from lab escapes into the city and they cannot contain it extreme measures will be taken to safeguard to welfare of the corporation." There is an almost emotionless way she says that. Like it's not really her saying something but her reading something off something. Each word is slow and precise.
He doesn't like that. Something about her tone has him burying himself further into Jill's touch for reassurance.
"To safeguard the welfare of the corporation," Jill repeats even slower. Miffed at the lack of answers they are getting jumping up to face down Alice. Who squares up to her while Rain and Kaplan step back. "What does that mean Al."
Sighing deeply Alice nods towards Rain and Kaplan who start heading towards one of the exits. The one that they didn't secure when they first arrived and were chased inside by the monsters haunting the streets. They draw their guns as they approach the darkness leaving them behind.
Alice takes hold of Jill's hand keeping her focus directly on her mate but directs her voice towards the whole group. "It means that Raccoon City will be completely sanitised if anything that could have escaped from the lab, which it did. We're guessing that at sunrise Umbrella will launch a three-kilometre yield nuke on the city." There are audible gasps from Jill and Peyton while Terri seems more then confused by this. Jill even staggers backwards in fear but remains latched on to Alice's hand refusing to let go of her. "It will wipe out the infection and all evidence of it."
"They can't do. That there is no way they could get away with wiping out an entire city." Peyton spits furious at what Alice is saying and he tries to stalk towards her. Not liking that Rhodie leaps in front of Alice and growls deeply towards the man. Making him back off but the glare remains prominent on his features.
Alice softly calls his name bending down to scratching his head as his rumbles slowly fade into a more affectionate cooing noise.
Terri seemingly managed to put everything together and mumbled "cover-up" to herself but then repeated it louder for everyone to hear. Alice smiled sadly towards the other woman. "Exactly. The cover-up story was always established at the same time the Hive was built. They had the perfect lie already ready for them with the city having a nuclear power plant."
"A terrible accident," Terri replies strangely calm griping her camera tighter. Then that calm instantly vanishes. "So, what do we do now then? Sit here until we all die in a fiery explosion." Terri nearly shrieks at them. Her voice rises to a higher pitch that hurts his ears as she shakes her arms around.
"There must be a way out of the city," Jill argues looking to Alice for help. If anyone can figure something out it would be Alice. She knows almost everything about Umbrella it seems. So why not a secret way out?
Alice nods her eyes lighting up with an idea. "There might just be a way out for us. But it will still be incredibly risky trying to get there."
Jill scoffs at her. "So, our options are certain death or probable death."
A slightly amused chuckle escapes Alice as she shrugs very nonchalantly about the whole thing. "Basically."
Jill's spare hand reaches to rub the space in between her eyes. Her voice turning more determined as she lowers her hand again. "Well probable seems more doable then certain."
"My thoughts exactly." Alice agrees smiling brightly towards Jill. "It's our best chance."
Peyton on the other hand doesn't seem as enthused about this plan as Jill and Alice do. "And what does this plan of yours entail."
"We head to Umbrella Headquarters and catch a train." Alice smiles down at him as he remembers the train rides they used to go on while he stayed with her in at the mansion. He liked the train. He barks excitedly to go on it again jumping up to rest his front legs on Alice's stomach calling for more strokes. Strokes with Alice doesn't hesitate to bestow upon him.
