Part 2

Then it hit me. She and her cronies tried to capture Cresselia, Darkrai and did more bad stuff in the past. Now, what was her name? A Meowth then appeared by her side. However, it wasn't the Meowth I'm used to seeing, It was the Alolan Meowth, and I'm pretty sure this one didn't talk (which to me is a shame because seeing and hearing a talking Meowth is awesome, well, not that talking Meowth in particular. That Meowth was bad. You know what I mean).

"Oh, I'm sorry." She apologized. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Giovanni's head secretary, Matori and these are my teammates. Together we are the Matori Matrix!" Matori! The Matori Matrix! They were much worse than the Team Rocket I was used to. They were smarter and knew what they were doing. Ugh! Why couldn't they be the Team Rocket with the talking Meowth? I much prefer to battle them, but you get what you get I guess.

"Those Pokemon aren't yours!" I shouted at her. "They belong to these nice and innocent trainers who have done nothing to you, so, just give their Pokemon back, and just leave us alone!" She looked at me.

"I know you. You're that other trainer who ruined our plans." I nodded.

"Yeah, that's me. And we're going to ruin your plans because you're not stealing any Pokemon!"

"Oh, is that so?"

"Yeah, it is so. My Inteleon and I will make sure of it!"

"Inteleon!" My Inteleon agreed, all ready for battle.

"I will stop you too!" Misty agreed, Poke Ball in hand. Her sisters also had their Poke Balls ready for a fight.

"We will too!" Daisy shouted as well. "Because no one comes into our gym and messes things up, right, girls?"

"Yeah!" Both Violet and Lily yelled at the same time. Matori shrugged.

"Alright." She declared. "If it's a battle you want, it's a battle you'll get!" She looked at her Meowth. "Ready, Meowth?"

"Meowth!" Her Meowth replied. It jumped in front of us, getting its claws out and ready. I was so used to human words coming out of the other Team Rocket's Meowth that hearing this Meowth just say its name over and over felt a little weird. The rest of the Matrix called out their Pokemon. So did Daisy, Violet, Misty and Lily. Their Pokemon were Dewgong, Seaking and Cloyster. The Matori Matrix's Pokemon were Toxicroak, Purugly, Stuntank, Aggron and Rhyperior. Misty was going to call her Gyarados, but Psyduck popped out instead.

"Psyduck!" Misty said after it uttered its name. "I didn't want you! I wanted Gyarados!" Psyduck looked at her, holding and tilting its head.

"Psyduck?" It asked. Matori smirked.

"Too late!" She stated. "You made your choice." I felt bad for Misty….and maybe Psyduck too. The poor Gym Leader can't seem to catch a break. I didn't think it was too late to switch Pokemon, but whatever. I just have to focus on my battle and my battle alone.

"Good luck!" Jacquelyn called. "I know you all can do it!"

"Thanks!" I called back. "We won't let you down!"

"Show my Inteleon and I what your Inteleon can do. You go, Goh! You too, Inteleon!"

"That's exactly what we plan to do, right, Inteleon?" Once again, my Inteleon agreed, uttering out its cry.

Inteleon and I had to face Matori and her Meowth.

"Ready for defeat, kid?" Matori asked me.

"I won't lose." I said with a smile. "In fact, just the opposite. Inteleon and I are going to defeat you!" Matori smirked.

"My, we are confident, aren't we?"

"We are, or I am, Inteleon and I."

"Good for you. But sadly, I have to disappoint you. Meowth, Night Slash!" Meowth ran towards Inteleon, baring its claws.

"Well, sadly, I have to disappoint you! Sorry, not sorry! Inteleon jump and use Snipe Shot!" Inteleon jumped out of the way and did Snipe Shot. It made contact and Meowth flew back to the floor. I cheered.

"Yeah! Way to go, Inteleon!" Matori smirked again.

"We're not done yet. Meowth, get up and use Bite!" Meowth got to its feet and charged at Inteleon.

"Inteleon, jump and do Snipe Shot again!" Inteleon was about to jump into the air again.

"Knew that you would do that. Meowth, jump and bite Inteleon's tail!" As Inteleon jumped, so did Meowth and bit Inteleon on the tail. Inteleon screamed.

"Inteleon!"

"Now, Fury Swipes!" Meowth repeatedly scratched Inteleon over and over. Meowth jumped back as they landed on the ground again. I gasped as I saw Inteleon's scratched up body. I ran towards it.

"Inteleon, are you all right?!"

"Looks like Meowth really did a job on your Inteleon." I gritted my teeth at her. I then saw Inteleon was getting up. "Yes! That's it, Inteleon! Get up!" Inteleon got to its feet. "Way to go, Inteleon! I knew you being badly scratched won't let you down!" Inteleon did its yell. "Alright, Inteleon, try Pound!" Inteleon charged towards Meowth.

"Meowth, Thunderbolt!" I was surprised. Wait, Meowth can't do Thunderbolt, right? Did Matori forget? I'm sure Martori was much smarter than the Team Rocket that I was used to, so what gives? Just as Inteleon got closer and got ready to use its Pound attack, Meowth landed its Thunderbolt on Inteleon. Inteleon screamed again.

"Inteleon, no!" I looked at Matori. "No fair, Meowth can't learn Thunderbolt!"

"My Meowth can." I then realized something. This was a way different Meowth from the talking Meowth that I know. I noticed Thunderbolt was done and panicked as I realized Inteleon took a lot of damage. What was I going to do now? One more electric attack and Inteleon was finished. I can't just switch, can I? Grookey might be a good choice, but it hasn't battled as much as Inteleon has. Should I try Cinderace? If I try to do a U-turn, would Meowth be faster and do another attack, thus defeating Inteleon once and for all? Ugh! This is so frustrating!

"Don't give up, Goh!" I heard Jacquelyn cry out. I looked at her. "Remember, it's not over until it's over! You have to do a lot of retakes until you get a scene right, same with life and Pokemon battles." I then saw and heard her Inteleon cheer us on. I beamed. I turned to my Intelekon who was looking at Jacquelyn's Inteleon.

"You hear that, Inteleon?" I asked. "Jacquelyn's Inteleon is cheering for you. So, what do you say, you want to continue and see this through?"

"Inteleon!" My Inteleon replied, giving me a nod and a thumbs up. "Okay, Inteleon. I hear you loud and clear. Let's finish this!" Inteleon looked back at Meowth. Matori smiled.

"We're going to finish this too, kid." Matori looked at her Meowth. "Do another Thunderbolt." Meowth got ready for yet another Thunderbolt.

"Nope, there's ain't no way that you're not doing that again. Inteleon, Mud Shot!" Inteleon shot out mud at Meowth before it could do its attack. Meowth yowled as it tried to rub the mud off its face with its paws. "Great work, Inteleon. Now, Liquidation." Inteleon did Liquidation.

"Meowth, hurry! Rub that disgusting mud off of your face before…" Too late! Liquidation made contect and Meowth got soaked. "Pound it against the wall, Inteleon!" Inteleon ran towards Meowth.

"That mud must be coming off now due to the water. Just shake off the water before…" Too late again! Inteleon pounded Meowth with its tail. Meowth soared to the wall. "Finish it off with one last Snipe Shot!"

"Meowth, get up before…" Inteleon did one last Snipe Shot. It made contact, and when it cleared, Meowth had fainted. I cheered with Inteleon. Matori groaned.

"I knew I should have waited with that second Thunderbolt and did Feint instead."

"Well, sorry, not sorry, but that was your own downfall."

"I guess it was." She returned her Meowth to its PokeBall. I saw that Jacquelyn's Inteleon was proud of us. No doubt my Inteleon was happy about that. Jacquelyn was also proud of us. I was proud of us.

I saw that Misty's sisters' Pokemon, Cloyster, Dewgong, and Seaking all had fainted. Misty's Psyduck was still standing.

"See?!" Misty shouted to her sisters. "This is what you get for traveling all of the time instead of training your own Pokemon! I'm sorry, but you have no one to blame but yourselves." Misty's sisters all glared at her, and frankly, I don't blame them. I feel a little called out. I couldn't believe she even said that. Not every Pokemon trainer has the time and patience to train their Pokemon. Everyone is different.

"Wow, Misty!" Daisy said to her. "Way to throw us under the bus like that. We all deserve lives too, you know. We can't be dedicated to our Pokemon 24/7."

"Yeah!" Lily put in. "Show us some respect." Misty sighed.

"Must I do everything?!" She asked herself out loud with a groan. She looked at me. "Goh, do you have a Pokemon that can cut the net while I open up the roof?" I was confused. The gym's roof can open up like a convertible or a sports stadium? I didn't know that. Then again this is my first time in this building, so what do I know?

And do I have a Pokemon that can cut the net? I have that new Pokemon that knows Ember and Flamethrower, but I don't want to burn them to a crisp. That would be bad. Very bad. So, that is a no go. Plus, my Inteleon might never forgive me if I burn its idol. Jacquelyn will be mad too and so would everyone else. I heard Misty again. "Does Grookey know Razor Leaf?"

I suppose Grookey can do it maybe, but does it know Razor Leaf? I don't know either. Then I remembered. Grookey was Team Rocket's Pokemon first. Did they teach it to do Razor Leaf? I didn't know that either.

I grew determined. I had to try. I looked back at Grookey.

"Grookey," I said. "Can you cut the rope with Razor Leaf?" Grookey looked happy that I asked it to do something.

"Grookey!" It said, running to my side. It looked at the net. So did I.

"Everyone, stand back!" I ordered them. The Pokemon in the net all stood back from inside of the net.

"Not so fast!" Matori said. "Uh, uh…" She looked at her minions behind her. "Well, don't just stand there! Attack that monkey before…"

"Psyduck, help out Grookey by using Water Gun at Matori!" Misty ordered. Psyduck, was of course confused, but did what she ordered it to. When the water blasted Matori in the face, every one of her teammates gasped. They all gasped again as she slipped and fell into the pool with a splash.

"Okay, Grookey!" I told it. "Do it now if you can. Razor Leaf!" Please work! Grookey did Razor Leaf. I cheered to myself. Yes! I cheered again as the leaves made contact and freed all of the trapped water Pokemon. For once, I felt like Team Rocket did something good, besides helping to try to briefly defeat Zaptos. Thank you, Team Rocket! "Way to go, Grookey! You did it!" Grookey did its happy cry, doing its happy dance, and beating its stick on the floor. I saw Matori sneer as she was now out of the pool with the aid of a couple of her teammates. She then glared at them as she pushed them away.

"Why didn't you idiots do anything?!" She yelled at them. She glared at all of them. "Why did all of you morons just stand around?!"

"Forgive us, Ma'am." One of her grunts apologized. "We were all in shock that you just fell in the pool, that's all."

That's no excuse! I'm a grown woman. I can help myself." The grunt got mad.

"Well, what did you expect? Did you want us to just let you drown?! I'm sorry that we saved your life."

Shut up! I know how to swim. I did the Team Rocket training." The grunt was shocked that she would say this to him, and maybe a little hurt too, but was still mad at her.

I saw that the roof was now open. This has me wondering. Why is the roof open? What is Misty planning?

"Ok, Psyduck." Misty said, coming back to the duck Pokémon's side. "Now that the roof is open, Psychic on the bad guys and get them out of here!" Aha! So that's why the roof is open. To make The Motori Matrix blast off like those Team Rocket losers with their Meowth without breaking the glass.

The duck looked at Matori Matrix and lifted all of the grunts plus Matori off of the ground. The duck then sent them all soaring out of the building. They all screamed.

"Byeeeeeee!" I shouted at them with a wave. Whoa, there I go again, saying it like that. I don't know where that came from, but I sort of liked it.

"Good job, Psyduck!" Misty congratulated it. "I'm so glad that you can do that right away now." Psyduck looked at her and seemed happy that it was being praised. I felt happy for it as well. It warmed my heart. It deserved to be happy. Every Pokemon does.

A few minutes later, our water Pokemon were back in the water, ready for the race again. Unfortunately, because we were so rudely interrupted, we had to start the whole race over. But I didn't care. And I think I can say the same thing for my Inteleon. As long as it's in the same room as Jacquelyn's Inteleon, my Inteleon is happy. And as long as my Inteleon is happy, I'm happy.

And once again, a few minutes into the race, my Inteleon and Jacquelyn's Inteleon were neck to neck. I was anxious. Was my Inteleon going to win? Was Jacquelyn's? Ugh! Even though the suspense was killing me, I was still excited and no matter if my Inteleon wins or loses, I will be proud of it no matter what.

My Inteleon won! I couldn't believe it! I thought for sure that we would lose, but my Inteleon sped up at the last second, winning the whole thing. It was super close. I cheered and was so happy.

"Alright, Inteleon!" I cheered. "We won! I'm so proud of you!" My Inteleon stepped out of the water to give me a hug. I hugged it back.

"Well, looks like you won the whole thing, Goh." Jacquelyn said to me as she and her partner came to us. "Congratulations!"

"Thanks." I thanked her. I then saw my Inteleon and Jacquelyn's Inteleon exchange thumbs-ups. I smiled at the heartwarming scene.

"You won, Goh." Violet said to me. I saw that she and her sisters had also come to us. Daisy held a trophy that resembled a mermaid. "You won fair and square."

"That was so good at the end there." Lily put in. "My sisters and I were on the edge of our seats."

"But before you get your trophy," Daisy began. "You have to beat one of us in a Pokemon battle." I approached them.

"I get to battle one of you guys?" I asked them, feeling dumb once again. Use your ears, Goh! Like your brain, you have them for a reason! That's what Daisy literally just said.

"So, Goh," Misty said. "Who are you going to choose? Daisy, Violet, Lily or me?" Well, this was a no-brainer because I already knew who I wanted to face.
