Chapter 21: Legend of the Digidestined Part 2
The group travels to Infinity Mountain where Leomon rows the Digidestined in a boat to the enemy's base while the Aether Team is riding above S. Mew transformed into a Wailord.
T.K.: Mew is so awesome!
Tai: I can see why.
Caleb: Somehow, we have to come well-prepared.
Leomon: He's right. Devimon is very powerful. He's brought nothing but trouble to File Island. We must be careful.
*Hesitation*
Now with Devimon, who is in his castle at the top of Infinity Mountain, he knew the heroes were coming while Ogremon was standing before him.
Devimon: Perfect…That traitor Leomon is leading them directly into my trap. He's been very valuable to me.
Ogremon: I guess so. But I'm loyal and better looking.
Devimon: Listen to me! You will pay them one final visit! Ready?
Devimon then grabs Ogremon who was turned into Black Gears and they went flying around while Devimon laughs evilly.
Devimon: Hear this, Digidestined! My power is infinite! Your hopes and dreams are useless! I am the supreme master of this island! If you dare to defy me, I will unleash the powers of the universe and conquer you! You can't escape!
Black Gears fly from the unattached islands to Infinity Mountain while on the sea, a girl with orange hair and wearing a blue helmet, yellow sleeveless shirt, pink gloves, and blue jeans is riding above the talons of an orange bird-like Digimon and there's another boy with blue hair and wearing glasses, white-collared shirt, green and yellow armbands, and gray shorts, riding a white uniwalrus-like Digimon who is swimming.
Girl: Oh no. Birdramon, what's that?
Birdramon: Big trouble's brewing. We'd better get ready for action.
Boy: Black Gear!
Uniwalrus: This is going to be the big one, Joe. It's time to show your true self.
Girl: You feeling OK, Joe?
Joe: Just a little seasick, Sora.
They fly and swim faster as more Black Gears flew into Devimon's Castle.
*Stop Music*
Now back with the two groups who arrived at Infinity Mountain.
Caleb: OK, Digivolve now!
The Aether Team prepares their Digivices as their Digimon starts to Digivolve.
Veemon: Veemon Digivolve to…GOLDVEEDRAMON!
Lunamon: Lunamon Digivolve to…LEKISMON!
Pulsemon: Pulsemon Digivolve to…BULKMON!
Dracomon: Dracomon Digivolve to…COREDRAMON!
Floramon: Floramon Digivolve to…KIWIMON!
Luxmon: Luxmon Digivolve to…PIDDOMON!
Herissmon: Herissmon Digivolve to…FILMON!
Hackmon: Hackmon Digivolve to…BAOHACKMON!
Pomumon: Pomumon Digivolve to…PARASAURMON!
Just after the Digimon Digivolves to their Champion Forms, the island shakes and the sky turns black.
Tai: Can't turn back now!
*Apprehension*
Then Devimon emerges as a giant Digimon.
Mimi: What in the world is that?
Tai: It must be Devimon!
Palmon: I didn't expect him to be such a big guy!
Izzy: Bad guys always seem to think bigger is better.
Leomon: Afraid not! The power that Devimon possessed is immense! So be careful!
Caleb: Luckily, some of us have our Digimon Digivolved!
Mario: Even so, we must fight with our Keyblades-a too!
Devimon then jumps up into the air and slowly lands down.
Tai: He's here! Agumon, ya better Digivolve!
But then Devimon turns around, sending wind which pushes everyone away before attacking them with Touch of Evil.
Devimon: You are fools! Don't expect me to play silly games with you! I'm far too wise for that!
Then GoldVeedramon uses Cutting Shot which hits Devimon which forces him to attack the group.
Caleb: So this is how you fight. Separate the Digidestined and their Digimon from each other to destroy them one by one, using the Black Gears to increase your size as a drastic measure to destroy the Digidestined, and avoiding fair and square battles. Now I see that you're a very coward Digimon.
Then the giant Devimon felt provoked after being called a coward before glaring at the duo.
Devimon: Ha! A coward? How dare you call the most powerful demon a coward! You're the coward here! You have your Digimon protecting you!
*Major Boss Battle - Digimon Adventure(PSP)*
Devimon tried to grab Caleb, but he quickly rode GoldVeedramon to avoid being grabbed and then GoldVeedramon uses V-Nova Blast to hit Devimon in the face and Caleb summons his Keyblade to cast a Mega Flare, hitting Devimon in the face with both attacks hitting him and causing him to grunt in pain before he glares at both.
Caleb: Who's the coward now?
Devimon: You are a fool to taunt me this way! You will not be able to defeat the great Lord Devimon and for your transgressions, I will send you to Hell!
?: Harpoon Torpedo!
Five torpedoes were launched and hits Devimon, revealing the uniwalrus.
Joe: That's a bullseye, Ikkakumon!
?: Meteor Wing!
Birdramon unleashes fireballs from her wings, striking Devimon, while Sora ran up the trail.
Sora: Quick, everybody! There's no time to waste! We gotta strike right away!
Tai: Digivolve!
Agumon: You got it! Ready, gang?
The four Rookie Level Digimon nods before Digivolving.
Agumon: Agumon Digivolve to…GREYMON!
Gabumon: Gabumon Digivolve to…GARURUMON!
Tentomon: Tentomon Digivolve to…KABUTERIMON!
Palmon: Palmon Digivolve to…TOGEMON!
Greymon uses Nova Blast, followed by Garurumon using Howling Blaster, Bulkmon using Thunder Dread, and Coredramon using Blue Flare Breath, but Devimon blocks their attacks, then Garurumon and Coredramon jumps at Devimon's arm.
Tai: I think we got him!
However, Devimon threw Garurumon into Greymon and Coredramon into Bulkmon.
Matt: Oh no!
Devimon: Your attacks are pitiful! I'm afraid you'll have to fight harder than that!
Then Kabuterimon uses Electro Shocker, Togemon uses Needle Spray, Lekismon uses Tear Arrow, while Parasaurmon uses Wavy Octavist, but Devimon blocks their attacks.
Devimon: Give up, you fools! It's useless!
Then he swats the four Champion Level Digimon away.
Mimi: Oh, poor Togemon!
Izzy: Kabuterimon!
Abby: Hold on, Parasaurmon!
Aria: Don't give up, Lekismon!
Caleb: Let's try again!
Then GoldVeedramon uses V-Breath Arrow MAX, followed by Kiwimon using Pummel Peck, Piddomon using Fire Feather, Filmon using Lightning Stinger, and BaoHackmon using Blazing Flame, but Devimon manages to block all the attacks.
Devimon: Your little tricks won't work on me again!
Devimon hits the five Digimon, even Caleb who was riding GoldVeedramon. Then Leomon drew his sword before jumping at Devimon.
Leomon: You're mine now!
But then Ogremon pops out of Devimon's back and he beats Leomon down to the ground. He came out of Devimon's leg and laughs.
Ogremon: Ya got no chance against the likes of us, kitty-cat!
Leomon gets back up with an angry face and growls as dark energy knocks him into the trees.
Ila: Hey, that's cheating!
Mario: It's-a not use, Ila. Villains-a will never play by the rules.
Ogremon: That's right! Rules are for chumps! And here's a taste of why that is!
Ogremon fires another beam of darkness, but Mario quickly casts Reflega to return the attack back at Devimon and Ogremon, then the Aether Team summons their Pokemon. Shiny Mew attacks by using Psychic, Shiny Absol uses Dark Pulse, Shiny Celebi uses Leaf Storm, Alcremie uses Dazzling Gleam, Polteageist uses Shadow Ball, Shiny Popplio uses Bubblebeam, Shiny Pichu uses Swift, Shiny Fennekin uses Flamethrower, Shiny Sobble uses Hydro Pump, and the Keyblade Wielders casted Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, and Balloonga with all of them hitting Devimon who grunts in pain.
Devimon: You weaklings and your weapons are no match for me!
He stomps the group, producing a shockwave which hits the Keyblade Wielders and their Pokemon. Then he grabs Birdramon and GoldVeedramon with both hands, causing them to squeal and grunt, trying to get free.
Devimon: You're not worth my time!
Sora & Greymon: Birdramon!
Lekismon: GoldVeedramon!
Devimon: Outta my sight!
Devimon threw both Digimon. Greymon caught Birdramon successfully, but slid down the wall of the mountain. The same thing happened to Lekismon when she caught GoldVeedramon while Joe watches in shock.
Devimon: You're next!
Ikkakumon uses Harpoon Torpedo, but the torpedo hits Devimon's hand and bounces off and then Devimon picks up Ikkakumon.
Joe: Ikkakumon, no!
Before Kabuterimon could use Electro Shocker, Devimon threw Ikkakumon into Kabuterimon and they hit the dirt.
Izzy: Kabuterimon!
T.K.: Oh boy! There's nobody left! What do we do, Patamon?
Caleb: It's not over yet! Let's try the next level!
*Middle Boss Battle - Legend of Zelda: Majora Mask*
The members of the Aether Team nods before using their Digivices.
GoldVeedramon: GoldVeedramon Matrix Digivolve to…MAGNAMON X!
Lekismon: Lekismon Matrix Digivolve to…CRESCEMON!
Coredramon: Coredramon Digivolve to…WINGDRAMON!
Bulkmon: Bulkmon Digivolve to…BOUTMON!
Kiwimon: Kiwimon Digivolve to...DERAMON!
Piddomon: Piddomon Digivolve to…ARKHAIANGEMON!
Filmon: Filmon Digivolve to…STEFILMON!
BaoHackmon: BaoHackmon Digivolve to…SAVIORHACKMON!
Parasaurmon: Parasaurmon Digivolve to…TOROPIAMON!
The Digidestined were astonished at their sights, seeing the Digimon of the Aether Team Digivolving to the next level.
Matt: They Digivolved again?
Izzy: Apparently, yes.
Then Magnamon X uses Magna Punch and Magna Kick which hits the giant Devimon, Crescemon uses Ice Archery, Wingdramon uses Exploding Sonic Breath, Boutmon uses Buden Blast, Deramon uses Royal Nuts, ArkhaiAngemon uses Heaven's Flame, Stefilmon uses Giga Crimson Dive, SaviorHackmon uses Meteor Flame, Mario uses Flame Salvo Shotlock, Aria uses Prism Rain Shotlock, and Caleb uses Ragnarok Shotlock.
Tai: Just a bit more and we will win!
Unknown for the two groups, Young Xehanort and Seth appears.
Y. Xehanort: Fighting against the darkness from the abyss is completely useless.
Seth: Also, Caleb and the others should learn that the real fights will never be fair and square.
Then they fired a dark energy which struck Devimon.
Devimon: What is this? I can feel a new power! Enough to Digivolve…!
Tai: What?
Devimon: Devimon Digivolve to…NEODEVIMON!
*Boss Battle - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time*
Then Devimon transforms into an improved version of himself. He has a pale gray body, red wings, and a golden mask.
Joe: Why did that happen? It's not fair!
Magnamon X uses Magna Kick, but NeoDevimon swats him aside and sent him down to the ground. NeoDevimon uses Guilty Claw which is more powerful than the Touch of Evil and hits the other eight Digimon, sending them all down to the ground. T.K. is petrified in fear as NeoDevimon turns to see him along with his Patamon.
NeoDevimon: Now to get rid of you, then I'll have nothing to fear! They say the smallest will destroy me, but I'm not going to let that happen! Don't move! Make it easy for the both of us!
NeoDevimon reaches his hand out while Matt runs to T.K. from one side of the trail, followed by Garurumon who attacks the hand.
Matt: T.K., run!
Then all the Digimon ran to hold NeoDevimon, doing their best to stop him, while Caleb casts his Grappling Hook Spell to grab NeoDevimon by the neck.
NeoDevimon: You seem to forget I am NeoDevimon, supreme master of this island! I have power over all Digimon! No one can stop me! No one! Absolutely no one has dominion over me!
NeoDevimon released dark energy and knocks all of them off and T.K. and Patamon hits the wall. Everyone was lying motionless on the ground.
Greymon: Whoa...That guy knows how to take it outta ya.
Togemon: I can't move...Even my needles feel numb.
Kabuterimon: Now is probably not a good time to take a nap.
Tai: This is bad…
T.K.: Matt!
NeoDevimon: You will be mine!
Matt: Hey, get ready to run!
However, T.K. was paralyzed in fear, unable to run as NeoDevimon was reaching for him and his Digimon. Then Patamon flew up and blew out a Boom Bubble that had no effect. He tried again with no luck. Patamon was crying with tears forming in his eyes.
Patamon: What do I do? T.K.'s in danger and I gotta protect him! I don't understand it! It isn't working! Oh, why can't I Digivolve?
T.K.: Patamon, help!
Then Caleb stood protectively in front of T.K. while facing NeoDevimon, despite the multiple scrapes in his body.
Caleb: You'll have to go through me first, you biggest coward!
NeoDevimon: That was your last mistake! Now you will die too!
Patamon: I'll save you, T.K.!
Then Patamon flew in front of T.K. and NeoDevimon's fist closed which also catches Caleb.
Matt: Hand on, pal!
Caeli: NO!
NeoDevimon smirks at his victory. Suddenly, a light beams from T.K.'s Digivice.
*Braveheart - Digimon Adventure*
NeoDevimon: What?
A bright light shoots from the cracks in his fist and he released the light with a yelp.
Mimi: What's that?
Izzy: It's uh…
Sora: It's Patamon! He must be Digivolving!
Patamon: Patamon Digivolve to…ANGEMON!
Patamon became an angel Digimon similar to Piddomon, but he has a blue cloth around his waist.
Caleb: That was so close…
Mario: Wow!
Joe: Hey, Patamon finally Digivolved!
Sora: That's super cool!
Matt: Not bad! That little guy really had it in him.
Kibou: He looks like Piddomon.
Mimi: Nice hair, good color, and on top of that, he's really handsome.
T.K.: I wanna take him home with me!
NeoDevimon: What's this? Another foolish attempt?
Angemon: The forces of good are too powerful. Even you can't stop us. I'll destroy you and bring peace to this island!
Everyone's Digivices and Crests of the Aether Team shines and sends a beam of white light to Angemon.
NeoDevimon: That light is so bright! What are you doing to me?
Ikkakumon shines and reverts back into a white seal-like Digimon while Birdramon reverts back into a pink bird-like Digimon.
Joe: Gomamon!
Sora: Biyomon!
Then Greymon reverts back to Agumon along with the other Digimon while NeoDevimon shields his eyes.
NeoDevimon: Stop it! I'm not going to allow you to take my power away! You'll have to fight me!
Angemon: I'm afraid I have no other choice. If I can help others, my fate is unimportant.
T.K.: Angemon!
Angemon: Your powers have gotten far outta control and must be extinguished! I am ready to fight for peace!
Then Ogremon pops out from NeoDevimon's chest and is sent right back through from the shining staff, leaving a hole in NeoDevimon's chest.
NeoDevimon: Now you've done it!
The staff glows and flows into Angemon's right hand which he pulls back.
T.K.: Be careful!
NeoDevimon laughs and reaches for Angemon who turns his head to T.K.
Angemon: I'll get him. Relax.
NeoDevimon: Come here, pretty boy!
Angemon: I'll stop you! Hand of Fate!
Angemon punches forward and a bright energy beam shoots through NeoDevimon and across the island and a light sphere surrounds the island. NeoDevimon was slowly disappearing into purple energy from the feet up, but at the same time, Angemon was disappearing slowly into white energy from his ankles.
NeoDevimon: You've used up all your power. That wasn't very smart, Angemon. Now you are no use to anyone. You can't get away from the dark forces. Evil is everywhere. So don't savor your victory. There are other Digimon that are just as powerful as I am. Some of them are even stronger. I wonder what you'll do when you run into them. You haven't won at all! What a waste of time!
After NeoDevimon said his last words, he laughs evilly before disappearing completely. However, Angemon is disappearing from his waist up now.
T.K.: Angemon!
Angemon turns to see T.K. who has tears in his eyes.
Angemon: T.K…I'll come back again…If you want me to…
More tears well up in T.K.'s eyes as Angemon disappears into white energy as the island loses its shine.
T.K.: Angemon!
*Stop Music*
T.K. is on all four, crying as seven snow white feathers fall to the ground before him until the last feather hits the pile, catching T.K.'s attention. As it does, the feathers reform themselves into a white egg with three horizontal yellow stripes.
Tentomon: What do ya know? It's a Digi-Egg.
T.K.: Do you think it could be Angemon?
Gabumon: I know it is. He's just resting for awhile to regain his strength.
Palmon: But don't worry. You'll see him again when he Digivolves.
Tai: I thought he was gone forever.
Agumon: No, Tai. When a Digimon dies, their data gets reconfigured and then they're reborn. Well, good Digimon anyway.
The Aether Team felt relieved while T.K. takes the Digi-Egg and hugs it tightly.
T.K.: I will make sure to take really good care of him. You saved my life, Angemon.
Suddenly, the gang hears tremors.
Sora: Look! The island is coming back together again!
Sara: Exactly! NeoDevimon has been defeated, the evil is eliminated, and the island returns to its original state.
As File Island is returning to it's original state, Ogremon gets up in the trees.
Ogremon: With Devimon outta the way, I can take over now.
But he turns around and saw Leomon standing before him.
Leomon: Hello! You forgetting about me?
Ogremon: Leomon! Get me outta here! Why can't the bad guys ever win?
Then Ogremon ran away, knowing that he wouldn't have the advantage against the heroes.
*Destiny's Union*
Meanwhile, back with the group, Caeli gasps tearfully before hugging Caleb who heard the sobbing of his little sister.
Caleb: I'm sorry for scaring you like that.
He sighs before hugging his little sister while rubbing her back to comfort her.
Sora: I think it is time to introduce ourselves. My name is Sora.
Biyomon: I'm Biyomon.
Joe: My name is Joe.
Gomamon: And I'm Gomamon.
Caeli manages to calm herself down and then after all the introductions.
Matt: So what's with those other evil Digimon across the sea?
Joe: Yeah, I thought we were going home.
Mimi: I don't wanna fight again! Oh, I think I broke a nail…
Tai: Well, according to Leomon's legend, we gotta do it! Remember, he said we're the Digidestined!
Caleb: A legend…?
Then the Aether Team had another flashback. This time, it was about themselves with the seven known Digidestined, plus one little girl with light brown hair and around T.K.'s age. The eight kids are wearing medieval clothes. Both groups are in the wastelands. Caleb and Aria have Biomerged with UlforceVeedramon and Dianamon respectively, plus Examon, Kazuchimon, Rasenmon, Jesmon, and Ceresmon. Caeli has Nyokimon while Kibou has SnowBotamon with the four of them watching the battle. The Eight Digidestined have their Eight Digimon. They are a golden anthropomorphic armored dragon known as WarGreymon, a blue wolf with a metallic armor known as MetalGarurumon, a four-winged yellow phoenix known as Hououmon, a giant golden atlas beetle known as HerculesKabuterimon, a female humanoid with a rose-themed suit known as Rosemon, a white walrus Digimon with a nordic-themed armor known as Vikemon, a blue-armored angel known as Seraphimon, and a teal-armored female angel known as Ophanimon. They are facing a group of five evil Digimon. One being a golden metallic serpent known as MetalSeadramon, another being an evil version of Pinocchio known as Puppetmon, another being a giant metallic dragon made with parts from other Digimon known as Machinedramon, another being a jester-like Digimon known as Piedmon, and the last one being a humanoid Digimon above a giant polyhedron with metallic chains and claws known as Apocalymon.
Apocalymon: Impossible! But you are just children…!
Primal Tai: You said it yourself, Apocalymon! We're the Digidestined!
UlforceVeedramon: Let's end this now! Ray of Victory!
Dianamon: Arrow of Artemis!
Examon: Pendragon's Glory!
Kazuchimon: Shinden Shouraikou!
Rasenmon: Quellrise Blast!
Jesmon: One For All!
Ceresmon: Burning Blood Shell!
WarGreymon: Terra Force!
MetalGarurumon: Ice Wolf Claw!
Hououmon: Starlight Explosion!
HerculesKabuterimon: Mega Electro Shocker!
Rosemon: Forbidden Temptation!
Vikemon: Arctic Blizzard!
Seraphimon: Strike of the Seven Stars!
Ophanimon: Sefirot Crystal!
The good Digimon fired all their attacks against the evil Digimon with the attacks destroying them.
Apocalymon: AAAAAHHHHH! You may have won this time! But someday, even if it takes us centuries, we will be back and then all the Digital World will belong to us!
After saying his last words, Apocalymon and the other evil Digimon disappears completely while all the Mega Digimon reverts to their regular forms and the flashback ends with the Aether Team returning back to the present.
Sora: Hey, guys. Are you alright?
Sara: Yeah. We just got distracted by something.
*Stop Music*
Suddenly, a Keyhole appears. Mario summons his Keyblade to fire a beam and seals the Keyhole.
Luke: Well, just as the legend of the Keyblade said, we have to leave this world.
Joe: What? But we barely knew each other!
Mimi: Also, we could need your help when those Digimon stronger like NeoDevimon appear.
Aria: Sorry if we had to go, but we have our own path. You guys have your own path too.
Caleb: She is right. You must also remember, every end is a beginning, every beginning is an end, meaning that NeoDevimon's defeat is only the beginning. Just as Veemon Digivolved to the Ultimate Level, your Digimon also have the ability to Digivolve at the next level.
Agumon: So, we can Digivolve even more?
Caleb: Yes. Also, watch this.
The Keyblade Wielders summoned their Keyblades which have their Crests with Tags as Keychains.
Sara: As you can see, we have our Crests and each Crest have different traits. Mine is Intuition.
Caleb: My Crest means Destiny.
Luke: Bravery.
Caeli: Innocence.
Kibou: Faith.
Aria: Tenacity.
Rei: Loyalty.
Ila: Creativity.
Abby: Patience.
Sara: Just as we had our Crests and traits, you guys will discover the meaning of your Crests.
Caleb: I know it was fun spending time in the Primary Village, but we had more things to do beyond this world.
Aria: Also, we could wish for you to help more.
Aria glances sadly at Patamon's Digi-Egg.
T.K.: Don't worry. I know you guys did your best. I must do my best too. I'm sure Angemon will say the same thing if he were still around.
Kibou: I know you will. Just as I have faith to continue, I'm sure you have faith to continue too.
T.K.: Thank you, Kibou.
Ila: How sad that we will miss Patamon hatching from his egg.
But then T.K.'s Digi-Egg starts to move.
T.K.: Oh!
Everyone looks at him.
Matt: What is it?
*Peaceful Hearts*
T.K.'s face lit up as the egg starts hatching and the top of the Digi-Egg came off to reveal a Poyomon, Patamon's Baby Form now reborn.
T.K.: Digi-Egg! You hatched!
Poyomon: Poyo! Poyomon!
Poyomon hops off the bottom half and hops into T.K.'s hands.
Mimi: How cute!
Sora: That's great!
Caeli: Congratulations!
T.K.:(Cheering)Yay! Yay! He did it! Yay!
T.K. laughs before nuzzling his partner.
Caleb: Well, now it's time to go. But someday, we will see each other again.
S. Mew: Mew.
S. Mew flew closer to T.K. before nuzzling him as T.K. laughs.
T.K.: I wish good luck to you all.
Caleb: Thank you.
The Digidestined nods, meaning that they are ready for their next adventure, while the Aether Team was ready to depart this world and continue to the next world.
