Deep Space Nine, 2385

The air around the station was tense with atmosphere, the promenade was empty, all the shops along the way were closed even Quarks fell silent of patrons. It was a very solemn, historic event about to take place, one that had been more than a decade in the making. James was very nervous; the young diplomat had done minor diplomacy work with the Tzenkthi during the war, but this was another level. The mustached federation official was sweating as he sat down at the table with the others. The large conference table was filled with people on the left and the right was empty waiting for the other party to come. James Stevenson was centered right on his side beside an older Vulcan man. On the table was a pitcher of water and several glasses, James poured himself a glass of water and drank the whole thing in one swig. The older Vulcan besides James looked over to his young protege and said "James relax, clear your mind" James closed his eyes and focused, breathing in and out letting his whole body relax in his mind. "Thank you, V' Lar, I'm just very nervous" The elderly Vulcan maintaining his composure said, "It is logical to be nervous at such a momentous occasion, too was nervous during the singing of the Khitomer Accords" James turned to him and said, "So is this as bad as Khitomer?" V' Lar replied, "No, this is much worse". That statement didn't put his mind at ease that much but at least he knew he was part of a historic event, today history would be made, the first treaty of Bajor had already marked the end of the war, and the second would mark the beginning of the future.

The room came alive with a roar of cheering in Klingon as a group of them came in crowding around one person and the Klingons were saying his name "Martok Martok Martok" they exclaimed as the crowd moved through the door in the conference room. Surely enough the man they were cheering on appeared, it was Martok chancellor of the Klingon High Council. Ten years after the Dominion war he was starting to gray a little in his long locks of hair but otherwise, he looked great. He walked up to the table with his warriors at his side and greeted V' Lar "This is a glorious day-old friend our hard work during the war has now paid off and today we make a lasting peace" V' Lar cleared his throat "While I applaud your enthusiasm there is still work to be done" Martok reheeled in his enthusiasm "Yes you are right old friend" Martok then was about to put his hand on V' Lar's shoulder when he pulled back. He then looked over to James and said, "Who is this human, my old friend?" V' Lar then motioned to James who stood up as he said "This is James Stevenson, the young man" Martok gave a slight bow to James and said "If V' Lar trusts you then so do I" James smiled and said "Of course Chancellor I have heard a lot about you, not just from your glory in the war but also from the Tzenkethi" Martok smiled and replied "I bet you have heard a lot from the Tzenkethi, they don't like me very much" "Yes chancellor they do not"

Soon the representatives for the rest of the powers during the war trickled into the room. This included The Romulan Star Empire, The Cardassian Union, and the secretive Breen Confederation. There however on their side of the table that were not filled, the representative for the Bajoran Republic. Martok looked at Ambassador V'Lar and replied, "Colonial Kira is not here?" James Cleared his throat "She said she would be here a bit late she said she is meeting an old friend" Martok let out a slight smile "Of course she is"
