My psycho Hasband

Chapter 2: Welcome to My World

The next morning began with silence. Not the soft, peaceful kind—but a heavy silence that filled every corner of the room. Hilary sat on the edge of the bed, still dressed in her nightgown, as Kai's sharp voice echoed from the other room.

"Be ready in ten."

That was it. No 'good morning,' no questions about how she slept, no smile. Just a command.

Hilary's heart thudded dully in her chest as she stood and walked to the wardrobe. An entire section had already been filled with clothes in her size. All perfectly arranged. All new. All black, grey, or deep maroon. Nothing soft. Nothing she would've chosen. It was as if her preferences didn't matter.

Just like her choices.

The car ride was silent. Kai drove without music, without speaking. His fingers drummed rhythmically against the steering wheel, his gaze fixed straight ahead. Hilary kept her hands clasped in her lap, staring out the window, wondering how her life had changed so drastically in less than 24 hours.

Eventually, they arrived at his mansion. No, not a mansion—a fortress. Cold grey walls surrounded the property. Security cameras lined every corner. Guards dressed in black patrolled the gates. Her breath caught.

Was this his home… or a prison?

Inside was just as intimidating. Clean, elegant, modern—but devoid of warmth. Marble floors, dark furniture, walls decorated with minimal artwork. It was stunning. But it didn't feel like a home.

It felt like she had just stepped into his world.

And it was nothing like hers.

"From now on," Kai said, breaking the silence, "you will stay here. You don't leave the house without my permission. You don't talk to outsiders unless I say so. You will do as I say. Understood?"

Hilary looked at him, a flicker of defiance rising in her chest. "You can't just—"

"I can," Kai cut in, his voice low, calm, and terrifying. "And I will."

He stepped closer, tilting her chin up with two fingers. "You can make this easier for yourself, Hilary. Or harder. But you belong to me now. And I always… take care of what's mine."

She jerked her head away from his touch, her eyes burning with unshed tears. But she refused to cry. Not in front of him.

Kai didn't seem fazed. Instead, he turned and walked away, leaving her standing in the middle of the massive foyer alone.

Alone with the terrifying realization that her life wasn't hers anymore.

And her husband—her so-called partner—wasn't a man.

He was a storm waiting to break.

And she had just stepped into the eye of it.
